Windows application problem

i created an application which has a login form... whenever a user eneters his username and password correctly, a new window will open which will enable him to click a button.. when he clicks a button, another form will open... on that form, there is an exit button... which has a code: System.exit(0). when he clicks the exit button, all the forms will close... even the login form... i want to leave the login form open... how will i do that?.. pls. help me...
thanks!

you can use return code value for retaining your login form,
wheneven open new form capure return value in variable and when you closing your last form return -1 and if parent form of that form receive -1 it will pass back to its parent and so on finally you are on login form where you can decide what to do next,

Please see the Code sample below.

         r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")

    End Sub
Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
    Thanks in advances.
    Many thanks

VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

  • How can i close a windows application that works under vmware in am applescript

    Hi there,
On my roof I have a set of solar panels. The daily score of these panels are only visible by using a Windows application.
So I use vmware on my Imac to start Windows 7 on Bootcamp, this all by using a applescript in the automator app.
In the script vmware is starting up and then i made a task in Windows that starts up the specific application after the Windows startup. After a delay of 180 seconds the script fills in a password an gives a return. That works well.
Unfortunately it runs perfect the first tim a and then the second time, the specific application does not start. Only Windows starts up, the rest of the script does not work the right way, exempt closing the vmware, that goes as expected. So I think that the closing command that I give in the script:
    tell application "VMware Fusion"
    quit
    end tell
causes a problem. The closing of the application within Windows is perhaps not done on a proper way.
Therefore I am looking for a way to close that application first and then closing Windows 7 and then VMware.
Thanks in advance for your help.

As a completely different approach, I'd have a look at the raw network traffic with tcpdump or equivalent, and see if I could figure out how to access this data — if you're lucky, it's a fairly standard interface of some sort; HTML queries, possibly.
Start with a port scan of the controller for the panels (using Network Utility.app in OS X, or another tool), and see what IP ports are open and active.
Is there a vendor and model associated with the controller for the panels?  That might turn up some software other than this Windows application/

  • Oracle.Dataaccess.dll deploy windows application

I have a windows application that I developed in VS 2005 on XP. It access the DB via the oracle data provider. I just switched to vista and was adding some new items ot the application and then tried to redeploy it. I had to add a new installer to the project and whne i try to run the applciation on the client machine after it installs i get an unhandled exception. After remote debugging i get the following error. {"The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw an exception."}. I notice that the client on a previous install of the application uses 10.2.0.100 and the new client uses 2.102.2.20. Is this my problem?

The following steps can fix the """'OraOps10.dll': Access is denied.""" some times..
    Solution Description:
Follow these steps to restore default access to Read and Execute access for Windows authenticated users:
    1. Log on to Windows with administrator privileges.
    2. Launch Windows Explorer from the Start Menu.
    3. Navigate to the ORACLE_HOME directory and right click on the ORACLE_HOME folder icon.
    4. Select the "Properties" option from the drop down list. A "Properties" window should appear.
    5. Click on the "Security" tab on the "Properties" window.
    6. Click on Autheticated Users in the "Name" list.
    7. Uncheck the "Read and Execute" box in the "Permissions" list. This box will be under the "Allow" column.
    8. Check the "Read and Execute" box. This is the box you just unchecked.

  • Embedding Applet in native Windows Application

    Hi!
I need to integrate applet into my windows application (MSVC).
The problem is displaying applet(s) within the application's main window (just like in browser).
Is there a way to do it? Using WebBrowser (IE) ActiveX component is unacceptable.
Perhaps there is documentation how to use JRE browser plugin, but googling yielded no results :(

<offtopic>Apparently my login no longer working, re-registered</offtopic>
ActiveX bridge won't do, I have to load an applet from any .jar
The idea is to write kind of applet loader, which may be able to load jar and display applet.
To start with, I need to know the way of paiting Java application GUI (i.e. JFrame) inside the native window.
There is one way I've found. First, create borderless JFrame with some unique title, then use FindWindow in C++ Application to obtain HWND (window handle), and then call SetParent. I know there is more elegant way using JAWT to obtain HWND, the main problem is that Java window is rendered separately and only then becomes a part of native window, because HWND could be get on visible window only. This results unneccessary mess and flicking on screen for user.
So, how can I render Java GUI directly to native window?
I used search and haven't found solution.
    Thank you!

  • [SOLVED] GNOME 3.8 annoying window resize problem

    Hello all fellow early-adopters :-)
A very annoying quirk I've noticed, moving from GNOME 3.6 to 3.8, is that it no longer remembers, nor retains, the size/positions I set for many of my application windows. For example, my mail client (Evolution) is sized to fill most of my screen (centrally), with Empathy and Skype as long narrow windows on both sides - giving me a nice, broad "communications" overview on that particular desktop (with dev tools etc open on others).
On 3.6, this layout was retained during my session, as well as next time I started these apps up.
In GNOME 3.8, not only does it insist that these windows are always started as small little bunched-up windows that I need to resize, but every time a window displays a notification/warning (message in internal yellow bar inside the window - such as loss of internet connection, mail retrieval failure etc) it resizes the windows spontaneously to a stupid, small size that overlays the other windows. This is driving me crazy!
Where can I learn a bit more about how window sizing / positioning works in GNOME 3.8, or is it finally time to switch to awesome wm? I want to love GNOME 3.8, I really do. It's so slick, but so... unpolished.
I want to dig in an assist with problems like these, but I need some pointers to some background material first to understand the problem. Is it the window manager? Is it the app?
** UPDATE: Doing a full system upgrade, as of May 18, 2013, has resolved this annoying problem. My windows now stay where they belong, and start with the same size they were closed with. GNOME is now pleasant to use again :-)

I really like GNOME 3.x though (and would like to understand the windowing behaviour), but if the annoying quirks are insurmountable, I will happily switch.
Man I love GNOME 3.x. I admire the courage they had to change, basically, everything, and I find myself more productive with my GNOME 3 Arch box than with my good ol' Slackware KDE 4 box. I just hate those bugs - for example I filed a task in their bugtracker for this window resize problem I have with gedit. If it's a love/hate relationship, I think it's marriage ^_^
With the 3.8 upgrade, deadbeef was having a similar problem with window size/position. I just recompiled it against the latest GTK+3 package upgrade (that came after the 'big upgrade' here on Arch) and it was fixed. But not with gedit

Man I really hope this gets fixed soon, because aside from this one incredibly annoying issue I am loving gnome 3.8.
I get the feeling gnome badly needs more beta testers, sizable regressions like this in "stable" releases happen way too often sad.
I get the exact same feeling. Well bugs exist everywhere, there's no denying. But I think it would be wiser to 'alternate' the nature of each major stable release - one focusing on new features and one focusing on fixing bugs. For example if the only new features in GNOME 3.10 were the AppsFolder full implementation and the introduction of gnome-calendar, and the rest of the development cicle being devoted to fix bugs, I'd be more than happy.
Like Fedora and Ubuntu, the fixed 6-month release cycle colaborates with the bugs. They don't do like Debian or Slackware which are released 'when they are ready'.
EDIT: fout (yet) another bug. At least with facebook chat (haven't tested with other telepathy plugins) the buddy tray icon appear duplicate. Anybody with the same issue?

  • Getting (WHND) of windows applications

    Hi,
I am trying to develop an application that on windows retrives the handles of a couple of native windows applications, to see if I can remote controll them using the message quea. I am not sure this is the right forum, but the one that seems to match most. I have unsuccesfully tried a couple of other forums.
Does some one know how to retrieve a handle from another application please?
    Even without using J/Direct please?
    Thanks in advance.
    Michael (fairly inexperienced)

Getting the HWND of a Win32 application depends largely on your understanding of the Windows architecture. There are two main approaches from a total-solution perspective. BOTH perspectives rely on Java Native Interface API, but they use it differently. After you decide which of these two options to choose, you need to ask yourself, What input parameters can I provide to determine which Window's HWND I need?
    1. Use the JNI, or a third-party library based upon it, to map individual Win32 API calls (like EnumWindows) into a Java class. Then write a Java program that calls these Win32 methods tagged as native in Java. This is the strategy used to implement the Standard Widget Toolkit, by the way...
    2. Use the JNI, but in a different way, to call a more complicated Win32 procedure (rather than just the basics of JNI, which allow you to call a DLL which was written in C.) You could use Njawin, for example, to call into a COM DLL (like a Visual Basic application) which itself provides a more complete solution to the problem. APIs like Jawin, JIntegra, Njawin, and JacobGen will take a complicated Win32 binary module (a DLL, TLB, etc. depending upon which solution we're talking about) and interoperate it with Java, allowing you to retrieve Pure Java return types, call methods synchronously or asynchronously, etc.
If you are going to be invoking further native functionality after you get the HWND (as you hinted with the message queue), you will probably want to go with Solution 2; coding directly to the Win32 API is not necessary in many situations. If you need to use JAVA as the front end to your program, but you want a lot of native functionality, then:
    1. Write all your native functionality in a high-level, object-oriented, COM-enabled Win32 programming language like Delphi, VB, C++, etc.
    2. Code the main native procedure into a public object inside a COM DLL, and use JacobGen or Njawin to be able to call that method from inside Java.

  • MacBook & Windows applications question..

    Hello,
I have been a PC user all of my life but I am very seriously considering purchasing a MacBook 13 inch. I will mostly be using the laptop for MS Office and for web browsing, and I know that Office is available for Macs nowadays. However, there are one or two applications I will need to use.
My question, and I am sure you all have heard this many times before: What exactly do I need to purchase/download to do this? I had read that most people use something called Virtual PC, but have read that that program does not work with the Intel Macs...the new Touche commercial though says something about a program called Parallels? I haven't been able to find much info on that though...
My understanding is that I would have to purchase both Windows XP AND Parallels...
    1) Is this correct?
    2) Where do I find Parallels / cost?
    3) Does this work on the Intel MacBook 13 inch laptops?
    4) Will just about any Windows application work assuming the specs matchup?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!!
    -T

I have always been a PC user, too, and I have now had my 13"macbook for six days. In addition, I am absolutely no techie, just an average user. I chose parallels after trying boot camp because 1) I can switch back and forth without shutting down; and 2) in parallels I can set up a 2-finger tap right click which is similar to what I'm used to, while in boot camp I had to remember some fancy sequence thing.
It's been absolutely great, I'm thrilled to death with my switch, but it has been far from problem-free and I have even occasionally reached the point where I wanted to fling the macbook from the balcony. But I restrained myself, and after 6 days of 12-hour a day frustration learning a new system, I think I absolutely have the best of both worlds. Already, I'm spending more time on the mac side, with only a few programs left exclusively on the windows side, and I love this machine more than any VAIO I've owned before.
I would say DEFINITELY do it, but remember that you're a bleeding edge pioneer here, especially if you intend to continue to spend time in windows, which most mac users disdain, and it may take a bit of time and patience before everything works the way you want it to. But when it does -- it's quite a rush!!
In conclusion, do it, decide if you want to use boot camp or parallels to run your windows from (there's plenty of discussion of this on the internet), then steel yourself to learn mac OS, and retreat into your windows when it gets too difficult. If you enjoy a challenge, you like to learn new things, and you want a computer that can do what no other can do, you will love this. If you just want something to work seamlessly in the way you are used to doing, then why are you even considering a mac?

  • LSMW with CI on System i and an additional Windows Application Server 4.70

    Hi together,
I have a really tricky problem to realize a parallel processing LSMW Workload.
In truth it isn't a problem to the parallel processing. It is a problem, how to declare the paths to the input files.
The LSMW is splittet in four steps:
    1. Read data
    2. Convert Data
    3. Creating Batch Input File (IDOCS)
    4. Start Direct Input Program
The first three points are using file in the IFS.
In the 13 points of LSMW there is point " 7 Specify Files" where I can customize paths to the real existing input and output-Files, which are stored at the IFS on System i.
    For example:
Legacy Data          On the R/3 server (application server)
        Materialtexte                  /usr/sap/direct/lsmw/material/matsta_text.txt
    This works fine.
Now we have added a Windows Applications Server in front of the 2-Tier enviroment to have more performance to the BTC workprocesses. Now we have two servers shown in sm51. One is the central instance (CI) and the other is the application server (AS), which is working together with the CI.
<b>Now the big bug:</b> In the LSMW transaction, you can submit the job to batch (BTC) and can't choose the server (Instance) where the batchjob should run. So, sometimes the batchjob runs on the CI (iSeries) and sometimes the batchjob runs on the application server.
But this is the problem, because the files in the IFS are only stored at IFS on iSeries. And if the Job runs at the application-server, the files is not found, and the job end abnormal.
Now I tried to find a good solution. So I want to declare a patch in LSMW, that the batchjob is running successful at CI and AS.
    So I tried:
    \iSeriesshareusrsapdirectlsmwmaterialmatsta_text.txt
But this is not really working, because the SAP WP can't find this file with this path.
There is a second possibility: Not to submit the batchjobs by pressing F9 in the transaction LSMW but making an extra job in sm36 for each job. Not very smart !
There is a third possibility: To duplicate the import Files to each Windows Application Server. Then it is possible to submit by pressing F9,  whatever server will be used.
So my question is:  What is the right way? There must be some poeple in the world who have done a migration with iSeries an Windows Application Server together? Or not?
    best regards,
    Carsten

Windows doesn't understand forward slashes, you need to use backslashes all way:
Try the following on one of the application servers:
    Start - execute
    notepad \iSeriesshareusrsapdirectlsmwmaterialmatsta_text.txt
If you can open the file, that's the way to go.
You'd need to check in your program, whether the job is been executed on Windows or non-windows and substitute the slashes accordingly.

    Ben,
I have just installed DI 11.7.2.0 and it is still an issue!  The bug has not been listed in the release notes in either the resolved issues section, or the known issues section.
Australia support told me it would be fixed in the next service release.  This was well before 11.7.2.0 was released.
I've opened another support case as I closed the last one, believing it was resolved.  From our perspective, it is not even being shown as a known issue with the product at this stage - so I will be keeping my support issue open this time until I see it is fixed.
My support case number is 302810798 FYI.

  • Wireless Keyboard not working in Windows applications running thru Bootcamp

I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and installed XP and Office on Bootcamp. My wireless aluminium keyboard would not work in Pages or Numbers but worked in Safari and Mail etc. It also didn't work in Excel and Word.
I have fixed the Pages and Numbers problem by downloading updates but I can't find anything to allow me to get the keyboard working in Windows application.
Does anyone know of an upgrade to sort this or will I have to buy a wired keyboard to overcome the problem?

In order to get bluetooth items paired in Windows boot camp you first have to find the bluetooth symbol at the bottom of the windows start page. Next click on it and pick show bluetooth items. Then try to add a new bluetooth item. When this bluetooth item shows up double click the icon for the item. At this time it should show a window at the top it says general and other. Pick other and a small box needs to be checked. When you check the box Windows will find the exact drivers for the exact bluetooth device. After that it should be paired and work properly.

Please help!! I am a user of the Blackberry Desk Top Manager, running under Windows XP Service Pack 4.5. I recently downloaded the latest version of Desk Top Manager and I am getting the following error: - Flashing intermittently, whilst running the newly downloaded Desktop Manager - "Windows Installer Preparing to Install".
