Windows getcommerror: The hex value of this code is xFFFF

Hi
I use the System Exec.VI to open an external program "not written by me" that communicates thru the serial port to a device. My LabView program reads a log file that the external program creates and looks for the word end in it. This works fine mostly but once in a while i get the "Windows GetCommError" See attached file. The error message most come from the System Exec.VI or from Windows. What do you think ?
Software info:
Windows 2000 professional ver 5.00.2195 Service pack 4.
PC: Intel Pentium 4, Processor 1.6GHz, Primary memory 256MGb, 10GB Hd.
LabView ver 6.1
TestStand ver 2.0
VISA ver 2.5
Thank you!

Hi,
It could be that MS Project is unable to handle custom lookup fields that have a selected value longer than 128 characters. Particularly when using ‘multi-value custom fields’ there is little to no restriction on the length of values that are selected.
There is this
blog post which details a similar error message and proposes a resolution.
Hope this helps,

    Hi Patricia,
    is it working for restricted key figure and calculated key figure ??
    Note Number Fisc Period Opening Days
    1 1 2
    2 1 3
    3 1 0
    because I have other restriction, so I create two restricted key figure..
    RK1  with restriction :  Total Number of Note,
    RK2  with restriction :  Total Opening Days ,
    then I Created a calculated key figure, average opening days in a period
    CK1 = RK2 / RK1..
    in this case, I am not sure if it will work or not..
    for example, during RK2 calclation, it might be this   2+3 = 5, the line with 0 will be ignored..
    during RK1 calcualtion, it might be 1 + 1 + 1 = 3. ---> Not sure in this case, the line with opening days 0 will be calculated or not..
    could you please confirm..

  • How to get the hex. value of unicode character

    Hi all
    I would like to get the hex. value of unicode and vice versa. I tried
    String name1 = new String(request.getParameter("textfield").getBytes("ISO8859_1"), "UTF-8");
    but it just get the unicode character, not the "hex value"
    pls help
    thx.
    Regards,
    Kin

    String str = "asdf";
    char c = str.charAt(0);
    System.out.println(Integer.toString((int)c, 16));
    Is that what you want? Or are you thinking "hex value" is something it's not, which is just a way of writing numbers in base-16.

  • How can I see the color of the hex value in a style sheet in DW CC

    I thought some of the answers above felt strange. Why wouldn't DW show you the color of a hex code when you clicked it. So I fiddled around a bit and as far as I can tell, if you click on a hex color within the css of a page (or a css file) the CSS Designer does show you the color.
    When I click on #AF070A in my .css file, it shows the color in the Properties sub window of the CSS Designer panel.

  • "This code is only Valid for customers of the USA Store.", "This code is only Valid for customers of the USA Store."

    I get this error message when redeeming an app from the apple "Aproved" website "Appexchanger" which is when you check out free apps and get credits to get paid apps, but i am in canada and everytime i go to redeem one i get "This code is only valid for customers of the USA Store." i think this is unfair because ive done what theve asked and theres nothing on the site that says "US ONLY" and the people who made it wont even contact me back! Please help i just want some apps!

    Just FYI, Appexchanger is not "approved" by Apple in any way that I can detect. Apple does not appear to have any connection of any sort with that company other than as a customer.
    This company looks to me to be nothing more than a way to harvest email addresses and other content information to sell to other companies, getting you onto all sorts of spam lists. I don't for one minute believe their claim that they won't sell your information (and if they don't, it's s good bet at least one if nor more of the developers will). But in any case, as Jay said, any problems or issues you may have with that company will have to be taken up with them. This is not an Apple issue.

    What is the protocol used in this input stream?I think SMB.

  • How can i implement the default value for this variable?

    In one of our Stored procs,we have a variable RECS_TO_DELETE, which determines the number of records to delete from various DELETEs that happen within this proc.
    The value for RECS_TO_DELETE variable should be obtained from a configuration table sys_config
    select
    rec_num into RECS_TO_DELETE
    from sys_config
    where
    sys_code=55;
    But if something goes wrong with sys_config table or the above SELECT INTO, our client wants to makes sure that RECS_TO_DELETE should have a default value of 1000.
    In the code, how will i implement having this default value of 1000 for RECS_TO_DELETE variable  in case the above SELECT INTO fails for some reason.

    Hi,
    You have to assign a value before the execution...
    DECLARE
        RECS_TO_DELETE NUMBER(9) := 1000;
    BEGIN
        SELECT rec_num
        INTO   RECS_TO_DELETE
        FROM   sys_config
        WHERE  sys_code = 55;
        DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(RECS_TO_DELETE);
    EXCEPTION
        WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND THEN
           DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line(RECS_TO_DELETE);
    END;

  • Windows 7 - "Tick" the box DNS "Register this connection's addresses in DNS

    Hi, i hope i have the right forum, this is DNS issue but on Windows 7 machines. I have been trawling the net looking for a fix. Basically we have some machines that are having DNS issues on various sites. I found one machine “register this connection’s addresses
    in DNS” unticked. I could see it had  a lease on our DHCP server and when I pinged the IP address it was responding. But pinging by hostname was failing. There was no A record in DNS Forward lookup zone nor IP address in reverse lookup zone. When I ticked
    the “register this connection’s DNS Addresses in DNS” and executed the registerdns command, it was successful and I am able to ping it now.
    Now, is there a way to do this via script to deploy via GP? Looks like no GPO setting fix. I have found numerous technets but nothing that resolves it. I specifically need to have the tick box for “register this connection’s addresses in DNS” ticked, nothing
    else!
    Can anyone assist?
