Windows keeps giving me "itunes has stopped working" error message when I start itunes? How can i fix this?
After downloading the newest version, 10.6.1, whenever I open itunes I almost immediately get a "itunes has stopped working" error messsage, in which the only option is to hit the "close the program" button. Simply closing the error message closes the program as well. I am operated under windows XP with the latest updates (or so the updater tells me). It seems like its getting stuck trying to send me a new user agreement because dont you have to agree to one for every new update? It just can't seem to get past that point. I tried opening it up in safe mode but that didnt work either. Any help would be greatly appeciated.
Looks like itunes was still trying to communicate with my iphone and got confused when it couldnt find it. Found this in another post and it worked great.
Solution:
Make sure you are not connected to the internet and then open itunes. Sync your phone and then enable the internet again. Then stay connected to the internet and close your itunes and reopen it. Bam problem solved.

My iphone 5s screen has stopped working for no reason at all? how can i fix this?
I was using it fine then locked it and tried to use it 5 minutes later and it stopped working? any ways to fix this or do i have to go onto an apple store?
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -
Title says it all.
I've had this issue on this machine for some time but not forever. Music playback is fine but anything video related freezes the program. When I launch the program in safe mode it works though. Clearly some add-on or file is causing it to foul up.
Before anyone suggests this: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4221 <-- I've tried it to no avail so please don't repost
Anyways this is really annoying, please help.
Thanks
P.S. I know my way around the computer so no need to cripple your explainationHello Appropriator,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article outlines further suggestions for troubleshooting video playback. While you have already completed one of the steps, there are a few more that you can try:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7 video playback performance issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1718
Additional Information
Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player.
Thanks,

I have an iMac and MacBook Pro, both running Snow Leopard at current maintenance levels. I have an HP8500 printer connected via wi-fi. All have been working well until just recently. Now, the iMac cannot communicate with the printer. The printer icon shows offline. The printer is still online to the MacBook. I suspect a related problem is that when I try to access files on the MacBook from the iMac, I get a message that they are unavailable, but re-clicking once or twice to re-try works and the files are accessible. The only problem is that I cannot modify them from the iMac, even though the sharing options are set for update capability.
Resetting the printer and re-booting the iMac don't help.Yosemite is a big problem.
I recommend you factory reset the TC and start over.
Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Redo the setup from Yosemite.. it needs to be directly involved in the setup to remember anything.
Please use short names.. no spaces and pure alphanumeric. eg TCgen5 base station name. TCwifi as wireless name.
Set password WPA2 Personal security which is pure alphanumeric mixed case and numbers.
Please empty out all the old wireless names from your devices.. reboot them and rediscover the network.
If it still fails tell us. -
For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS. I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer. iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups. It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me". Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do? Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!
Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. And I payed for the product ready to use, but not a halfproduct which problems should further be solved somehow by users.. -
Can't install iTunes 11 on Widows 8, 'iTunes has stopped working' error message
Two months ago, I bought a new computer that uses Windows 8. I was running iTunes 10.6 on it fine until today, when it crashed for some unknown reason. Every time I've tried to open it again, I kept on getting a 'iTunes has stopped working' message. I've uninstalled 10.6 and tried installing iTunes 11, but keep getting the same 'iTunes has stopped working' error message with no other details. I've tried installing it as an administrator, but got same failed results.
Any help?

ITunes has stopped working error message
I WANT TO LISTEN TO MY MUSIC!!
I have spent all morning looking for solutions to this problem! uninstalled everything to to with Apple, reinstalled it all again and still nothing!!
When are Apple going to pull their finger out!
The Error message appears as soon as I click for a CD to be copied. I updated my iTunes this morning to the most recent version and that is when the problem started.
Can anyone help?, ThankyouThe Error message appears as soon as I click for a CD to be copied. I updated my iTunes this morning to the most recent version and that is when the problem started.
There's a bug with 10.1.0.54, Danni, that is causing "iTunes has stopped working messages" (citing CoreAudioToolbox.dll in the Problem Reports for the error) for some folks when importing CDs with the AAC encoding, adding/converting files to AAC, and in some cases syncing devices (when the convert to 128 kbps AAC option is enabled).
Short of rolling back your iTunes to 10.0.1.22 and your Apple Application Support to 1.3.2 (CoreAudioToolbox.dll is kept in the Apple Application Support program files), there's a few possible workarounds.
(1) Change your importing prefs to use a different encoding (won't help with the device syncing variation though), and/or disable the convert to 128 kbps AAC when syncing option.
(2) Replace your CoreAudioToolbox.dll version 7.9.4.0 with a 7.9.3.0 as per:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12576816#12576816
(3) Or, replace your CoreAudioToolbox.dll version 7.9.4.0 with a shadow copy of a 7.9.3.0 as per:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12583499
(4) Or, if no known-good copy of 7.9.3.0 is available and your PC doesn't have a shadow copy of the 7.9.3.0, you can replace your CoreAudioToolbox.dll version 7.9.4.0 with a 7.9.3.0 by performing some installation gymnastics with the current (11 am 18 Nov NZ time) version of the Safari 5.0.2 installer, as per:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12598386
NB with (4) if you have a 64-bit version of Vista or 7 ... the Apple Application Support program files are instead located at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
(2, 3 and 4 do help with the device-syncing variation.) -
When I try to synch more than a small number of songs at a time 20-30 or so), I get the error message "iTunes has stopped working." This happens on my iPod, iPad, and iPhone, so I'm sure it's an iTunes or computer issue. I'm using a PC with Vista.
I have reinstalled iTunes many times. I have also taken care to delete all iTunes related files from my registry. Any suggestions? It is a pain to manually synch my library in batches of 20 songs at a time. If someone has a solution to this, I would be SO GRATEFUL.i found the problem. ipod doesn't like my new combo usb/firewire hub. plugged directly into USB card on computer, problem went away. yay.

"Itune has stopped working" error message HELP!
I tried to open up the itune program, double clicks, no response and an error message pops up saying "Itunes stopped working" and then it sends an error report to Microsoft. What do i do? I tried re-installing. SafeMode start. deleted files that were maybe corrupted, as stated in Apple support forums.
Try working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues to start with.
Otherwise, for general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
