Windows Mobile L2TP Configuration

I am trying to get VPN working through a Windows Mobile Cell Phone through at L2TP connection but have failed. I can see the attempts coming into our ASA firewall however the username is always blank and I have not found much information on how to configure this. Does anyone have any ideas or information on how to configure this?
Thanks

To allow end users to connect using Windows Mobile devices, configure the Mobile Policy parameters. These parameters apply only to Windows Mobile devices. Include them only if your end users use Windows Mobile. Windows Mobile Policy enforcement is supported only on Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 5+AKU2, and Windows Mobile 6. It is not supported on Windows Mobile 6.1. Attempts to connect to a secure gateway that is configured to require a security policy that cannot be enforced will fail.

  • Windows Mobile 5.0 L2TP/IPSec native VPN to 3030

Has anyone successfully setup a VPN using the built in VPN client in Windows Mobile 5.0 to a Cisco 3030? I am running into problems but have no idea why. I followed chapter 13 of "The Complete Cisco VPN Configuration Guide" from Cisco Press, to configure the L2TP/IPSec for Windows Client software, but still no luck. I would much rather use the native software from Windows Mobile rather than purchase a 3rd party app. Any help or reference's are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Windows Mobile user 5.0 doesnt work with cisoc 3030. Mobile client requests a domain name on the credentials, which seems to be as "not valid" on the concentrator.

I want to upload data from a java application in pda (a Windows Mobile 6.1 device) to a server using a GPRS connection. My application uses a IBM weme VM.
I want to know whether I can do this in Java itself, because otherwise I would have to resort to some C++ methods(that uses the connection manager api) and call that using jni. But if there is some java method for this,it would have been helpful and straightforward..
Can I do this using socket connection in java? if so, Would somebody provide a code snippet ?Which port to connect to in that case?
Plz let me know about this.

    Hey forum....
When I dock my Windows Mobile device in a Windows 7 PC, the Windows Mobile Device Center opens and I can browse the device and copy files between it and the PC. However, I'm looking some kind of way to automate this process. All I'm really interested in
is a single file named TEXT.TXT which is stored in the My Documents folder. Basically, I'm looking for a script that will detect the Windows device (it's USB-attached) when docked, find the file TEXT.TXT in the My Documents folder and then copy this file to
the /Temp folder on the desktop.
I've tried using the synchronization feature of WMDC but it copies the file to a documents folder set up for the specific device. Instead, I'm looking to find and copy the file to C:\TEMP regardless of the device.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Just configure the device to sync the folders you want to sync.  Start by reading the help very carefully.
This is not a scripting question and this forum is not for end user questions.   I suggest posting in the Windows Phone forum.
You can also sync via OneDrive over a cellular or wireless connection.

Please be aware that just because something can be made to seemingly work does not mean that Oracle will support it. Problems which may occur on unsupported platforms or with unsupported configurations will not be considered defects unless the issue is reproducible on a supported configuration.
Neither Citrix environments or mobile environments are supported for use with Oracle Forms.

  • Windows Mobile 5.0 and PEAP

We have successfully configured a group of 1200 series access points to use PEAP. I have installed a puplic Thawte certificate on ACS and configured group policy in Active Directory to issue certificate and set wireless settings. All of this works great with XP. I am now trying a Dell Axim running Windows Mobile. This handheld uses the Odyssey client and has all the required PEAP settings. This device works fine if configured with LEAP. I am getting an error on ACS "EAP-TLS or PEAP authentication failed during SSL handshake" .Since this handhelp and OS is not a domain member how does the machine authentication take place? I have tried creating AD accounts that match the device name, I have tried creating local ACS users that match the device name and nothing seems to matter. I am also not clear how the handheld knows how to deal with the certificate from ACS. I purposely purchased and installed a certificate from a well known CA so that the trusted Roots would be in the handheld so we would not need to deal with importing Root certificates from our internal CA. Also I should say we are running ACS version 3.3 and the latest 1200AP firmware.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

Well an update on this issue. I am not able to get the PPC to connect with WPA and TKIP. It either get's and SSL handshake or fails machine authentication. The only way I can get this to work is to add a local account in ACS and supply the ACS username and password to get it to authenticate.
I realize that the PPC or Windows mobile device cannot be a domain member therfor mapping to a machine name in Active Directory would be a challenge. Is there any way to get these devices to access a domain username and password? I have tried creating dummy domain account for the machine name but it does not seem to matter. I have also tried creating a dummy machine account in ACS but that does not work either. Does anybody have PPC or Windows Mobile devices authenticating using ACS and Active directory? Any help appreciated.

  • Windows mobile 5.0 (ce 5)  need JVM

got a new PDA, hp ipaq hx2495. Im a java geek so i want to start writing little java apps for it and wanted to ask where to start? what jre is recommended and where to get it, I see something about Jeode or J9 but i dont want to mess it up so i want to be sure before i install.
after i get a simple hello world running i then want to get Websphere mq everyplace running and putting some little mq messages on a qmgr on another omputer running wmq 5.3...
but first, small steps...I need a JRE or Java SDK and I am confused
anyone doing this on windows mobile 5 or similar?
    thanks

You should send this to Sun for a J2ME FAQ :-) Very good!
    Hi
I'm starting the development of a J2ME application.
The target device is an hp iPAQ, I don't know at the
    moment what model.
Until now I have discovered these informations:
The version of JAVA to use is PersonalJava, that is a
CDC configuration of J2ME with full support of all
optional packages (look at the sun pages for
    details).
TO COMPILE your application you can use classic javac
compiler, using "-bootclasspath" as parameter to
specify the library file that contains the
    PersonalJava implementation.
TO DEPLOY your application, you can package it in a
    conventional .jar file.
TO TEST your application on your local machine, you
can download a J2ME JVM, like one of these:
    http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/computing/users/fittond/pp
    cjava.html
some of these machines got a developer pack that
includes a device emulator to test the application.
    Good work

  • Runtime error on Windows Mobile 6.1 after install

    I have a Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic device (non-phone),
    CE OS 5.2.21041 (Build 21041.1.6.0)
    Processor is an ARM1136 MX31
    Memory: 115.09Mb
I installed the 3.0 SDK, and copied and installed the CAB file on the device per the instructions on the website.
When I click on the "Sun Java CLDC Emu" icon, I get the following error message:
"The file 'sun_jwc' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
I tried removing and reinstalling - same error. Everything seemed to go ok with the CAB installation.
Any suggestions as to what to check/test?
    Regards,

    Hello,
we don't sign the java runtime cab nor the executables inside it. So to be able to run it on a device, the device needs to have security lowered at least to the level at which the user is asked for permission when he is installing / running an unsigned cab / executable. In the context of Windows Mobile security, it means that the device's security configuration needs to be set to "Two-Tier-Prompt", "One-Tier-Prompt" or "Security-Off" (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839681.aspx for more details).
Changing of the security configuration might require device manufacturer's or operator's assistance.
In some cases it can be done by the user. Some of them are listed below:
    1) the user has a registry editor application which can run on the device and can change the device registry (such application needs to be signed by a certificate which is trusted by the device)
    2) the device has installed Microsoft Windows Mobile development certificates
    3) the device allows the user to install the Microsoft Windows Mobile development certificates
Of these the 2 and 3 is more likely, so If it's your case, try the following:
    1) Install Windows Mobile SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/DownLoads/details.aspx?familyid=06111A3A-A651-4745-88EF-3D48091A390B&displaylang=en)
    2) Install "<WM SDK>/Tools/Security/SDK Development Certificates/Certs.cab" on the device
    3) Go to "<WM SDK>/Tools/PocketPC/Security/Security Configuration" and use one of the cpf file to change the device's security configuration (see <WM SDK>/Tools/PocketPC/Security/Security Configuration/ReadMe.txt)

  • POL-8000: could not start the Java Virtual Machine (Windows Mobile)

I have created a Java stored procedure in my OLite database. It runs just fine when I am running OLite in the context of a standard x86 JavaSE JVM. However, when I try to do the same on a Windows Mobile device, using IBM's J9 CDC JVM, I always get the POL-8000 error. How can I configure OLite to use this JVM? Or are Java stored procedures not support in this scenario? Thanks.

    Hi.
Usually, this happens when there is no JDK in the PATH system variable. JDeveloper and WLS will work, but some external tools will fail. Can you please ensure that you have a reference to the <tt>bin</tt> subfolder of a Java SE 6 JDK in it? You should get something like this when you execute <tt>java -version</tt> on the command line:
    java version "1.6.0_37"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01, mixed mode)Best Regards,

  • Windows Mobile 6 not syncing with Exchange Server / Error Code: 0x80072F06

Just got my Dopod 838 pro with Windows Mobile 6 installed. Having this problem when trying to sync with corp. Exchange server:
The ActiveSync circle on the phone turns yellow/brown, clicking the Error message it says:
The Security Certificate on the server is invalid, please contact Exchange Server Admin or ISP, to install valid certificate on the server.
    Support / Error Code: 0x80072F06
That's the problem. My phone doesn't have a Data Link connection problem as I am able to go online with it, also the company's Exchange Server is good, a few days ago I used my Windows Mobile 5 to sync with it without a problem. (but then I lost the phone)
    Can some one help? Thanks.

    Can u help me here?
I have a windows 6 mobile devices (all) that are having an issue connecting to my exchange server. I am pretty useful with certs but this one is baffling me. I have a windows 2003 sbs server. I recently created a san cer on the server and since then my Windows devices cannot synch. I belive I have setup correctly, or not?? Ther error and the steps are below...
    ERROR ON DEVICE:
The security certificate on the server is not valid.Contact your exchange server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server:
    support code: 0x80072f06
STEPS I USED TO CREATE SAN:
    1. Created certificate using article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931351/en-us
I added the following as SN:        MAIL.EXTERNAL.COM     (my external dns record for mail server)
And added the following for SAN: SERVER01                     (my mail server name )
                                                         SERVER01.INTERNAL.LOCAL  (my mail server fqdn)
    2. Exported Root CA cert and imported to my phone
    3. configured active synch to connect to mail.external.com on 443
I believe these are the correct steps. I would liked to have been able to export the SAN cert from IIS with private key and install on phone but the webserver template doesnt allow you to export private keys. I also cannot create a dubplicate webserver template to allow the export of the private key as you need enterprise edition of windows 2003 to do this.
So I am at the end of line I tried exporting the cert without the privtate key and importing it but still keep getting samer error.
Why of Why does it not like my cert?
I have just noticed now when I browse to the same address for OWA externally I am getting the error on my browser too even though I have the cert installed on my laptop

"Does anybody have an idea how we can get Flash to get more memory from the system, please?"
We've encountered this problem a year ago.
    There are 2 solutions :
    - compress MP3/FLV at the maximum (in file size) to reduce memory consumption and set a timer of 60 seconds before loading another MP3/FLV to let the garbage collector of Flash Player to free memory.
    - use an external MP3 Player (Windows Media or TCPMP), if you configure the player to launch automatically when double clicking on .mp3 files, you just have to call fscommand("launch", "test.mp3");
The problem is then to hide the MP3 Player.
Using Janus-Flash, you can "Set Top Most" Flash Player so the MP3 Player is hidden.
Using this method we managed to play 15 MB MP3, and switch almost instantly to another big MP3 file.
Check Janus-Flash Forum to find the solution. The exe to set top most is called "Janus Kiosk.exe".
    Best luck.

  • WRT54GXv2 Won't Allow Windows Mobile 5 Device to Connect

Using the WRT54GX as a WAP with DHCP and NAT turned off.  Installed latest firmware earlier today.  DHCP is being supplied by a SonicWall SOHO 3.  Both PC's and MAC's can connect wirelessly (WEP 128 bit key) but my new T-Mobile MDA phone tries to connect but then drops.  I verified the WIFI on the phone works by connecing to a T-Mobile WIFI Zone at Borders books earlier today.
Is there an issue with Windows Mobile 5 devices and the WRT54GXv2?  Is there a workaround?
    Thanks!

Try to configure the router this way:
Connecting a Wireless Linksys router to a regular Ethernet Linksys Router
Now since you are issuing DHCP on a Sonicwall SOHO3, make sure your router is on that range instead of the router IP on the directions on that link. Goodluck! Remember it's from a regular port from Sonic wall to a regular port on the WRT54GX..
