Wired remote for Inspire P5800 5.1 speaker system

Well about two days ago, i started having a problem with the remote that came with my speakers. It seems that somthing inside the remote has come loose, because when i move it around in certain positions i have sound, then if i move it again, i dont. I find it hard to belive that the money i saved up to buy these speakers is wasted because of some horribly made remote they came with. Heres my question, is it possible to get a new one, whether or not creative wants to man up to it or if i have to buy one i dont care, i just want to be able to use the speakers which have nothing wrong with them. Or, are there any systems out ther now that have compatible remotes.

Hey, I had the same problem some time ago with the same set. My solution was to make the wire straight and don't twist it anywhere. After that it all worked fine. Good Luck

Does anyone know whether you can buy a replacement wired remote from a Creative Inspire P5800? I've spent all morning going in circles on their website. The headphone socket is defective on mine, and I don't really want to buy a whole new system if I can help it.

I don't think that's happened, nor is it likely to happen any time soon. Take a look at the discussion here:

You might try ilounge. This forum is for technical
    support issues.
I agree with you though - the Hi-Fi should
    have an integral radio.

  • Is it possible Creative pulled the Zen Touch Wired FM Remotes for a redesig

I was thinking of purchasing one of these wired remotes for my Zen Touch...but can't find them anywhere...anywhere here on creatives site and anywhere else online...all say out of stock...would make sense and all since it is Xmas coming up...but after reading all the reviews on this unit and how expensi've it is and how it breaks after a certain amount of months...perhaps creative is pulling them for redesign or something?
would love to buy one...but...can't find one...yet everyone says this thing is crap!
    hrm.............wish there were more options.

They've been hard to find since they were launched. Creative aren't good at keeping items in stock.

  • IPhone 3G - No support for wired remote controls?

I have been looking all over the place for a wired remote for the iPhone 3G with no luck (and yes I have looked through this forum for an answer before asking my question).
I have attempted to use three wired remotes from my previous iPods, but two of them do not work at all and the third is completely unreliable. It is an Apple branded wired remote for the iPod video with similar design to the iPod Shuffle and allows you to connect your own headphones. It will only function after a hard-reset of the iPhone 3G, and strangely it takes about a minute or two for the buttons to work. If I unplug and replug the remote it will no longer be recognised and will not work again until the iPhone 3G is restarted.
I cannot see any wired remote products in the Apple store and I keep getting blank stares whenever I take this question to sales persons.
I use my iPod extensively and the only reason I bought an iPhone 3G was because I was tired of missing calls whilst listening to mp3s. I consider the wired remote as being essential for satisfactory use when out running, driving the car, etc. Without it the iPod functionally is all but useless to me.
Is there a wired remote that the iPhone 3G supports?
Additionally, are there any iPhone 3G compatible bluetooth devices that essentially perform the same function and allow you to attach your own headphones?

I've been looking for a decent remote for exactly the same reasons since I bought the 3g iPhone on release day. I settled for the Griffin SmartTalk as it allows you to answer calls, play / pause and skip (forward only meh!). Its cheap as chips (and it looks and feels as such) but it kinda does the job. Still waiting for a decent remote though. And A2DP for crying out loud! Its been long enough already. Then I could get this... http://www.foneshop.com/accessories/description/2486
which I feel is the best solution I've seen!

All those views and no responses, eh.
    Thanks Apple.
For continuing to throw your loyal customers under the bus and forcing them to buy new accessories with each generation of iPod/iPhone I will never, ever buy another Apple product again.

  • Inspire 2800 2.1 Digital Speakers - replacement 6-pin wired remote?

The wired remote for my 2.1. digital speakers has broken and I can't turn on the speakers anymore with the remote. I rang the support guys in Ireland and the recommended course of action was to buy an audio control pod which they said would be able to be used as a replacement (it wouldn't do all the features but I wasn't bothered about that, providing I could actually turn on the speakers and control how loud they were!).
Fast-forward a few months and the audio pod is delivered - but it's a 9-pin connection and my speakers take a 6-pin connection so it's useless!
Has anyone else been in my position - I'm basically stuck in the frustrating position of having dead speakers that will work fine, but can't actually be switched on without this dratted remote!
Are there any solutions/workable replacements that I'm missing?
Many thanks for any advice anyone can give me!

I have this exact same issue. I just purchased the X-Fi ExtremeGamer with the Digital I/O Module. I've tried both Coax and Optical, but I get no sound in the rear speakers. 6-Channel Direct works just fine.

  • Issues with Creative Speaker Systems 7700 and 7800

I have had very little success with Creative Inspire T7700 and P7800 speaker systems. The problems started when the left rear channel on my T7700 stopped working. I spent an hour or so localizing it down to the multi channel amplifier that's located in the sub woofer cabinet. I swapped the speakers around to see if the speaker was blown and I swapped the T7700 to my other computers to see if the problem was in my sound card (I have 3 computers 2 of them have Audigy cards and one of them has an X-FI sound card). The problem stayed with the left rear channel so it is definitely the T7700. Since it was off warranty I went and bought a P7800. After getting it home and unpacking all the speakers and making all the connections I found the left front channel non functional. I took that system back to the retailer and they exchanged it for another P7800. I brought that one home and found the right rear channel to be non functional. I returned that to the retailer and got my money back. I have several older speaker systems from Creative including a nice 5.1 channel system (the 5200) that has worked flawlessly for many years. My question is this: Why is the quality of these newer speaker systems so poor? And has anyone else had this kind of problem? So far I am living with the dead channel on the T7700 but would like to eventually get everything working again.

    p3dlow,
Any speaker system that can receive input from a single 3.5mm stereo minijack should work with a MP3 player. Are you looking for a 2.1, 2.0, portable or docking station? Btw, exactly which player do you have?

  • Creative I-Trigue L3450 Speaker System

    Hi.
I am interested in the above product but was just wondeirng if anybody could answer some questions for me.
Is it possible to plug a USB MP3 player into the controller of this system and have the music played? The following link seems to suggest that a USB MP3 player can be plugged in:
    http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.a...id=&src=Search (st picture)
    Can Anybody confirm this?
Also, must this system be connected to a PC or can it simple be plugged into the mains and have MP3 players etc run off it's
    Any help would be brilliant!
    Thanks!

    badboyuk,
The USB port on the volume control is what we call a M-PORT. Basically, it does what you mention by it's only compatible with M-PORT compatible player and as far as I know, only the Creative MuVo NX is supported. The speaker doesn't need to be connected to the computer only. You can connect to any audio source that's using a 3.5mm stereo minijack output.
You can also download the user guide for this speaker from the Product Documentation page for more information regarding the speaker system.
