With iTunes match, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer
In my iTunes on computer, I have several smart play lists. Within each playlist, songs are set to a certain order. Some playlist songs order are organized by name, some playlists are organized by Album, some playlists are organized by artist etc.
When I was syncing my iPhone and iPad directly with my computer, the playlists on my mobile device had same order of songs as on my itunes in computer.
Now, I signed up for iTunes match. With iCloud sync, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer. In fact, order of songs within a playlist appears to be completely random. Moreover, order of songs are different in my iPhone 4s and iPad 2
How can I change the order of songs on my mobile devices or how do I make iTunes match to sync my songs such that within a playlist, my songs are in the same order as that of iTunes on my computer.
Thanks mracole. I assume this means order of songs will work with regular play lists I iTunes match. Will try it this afternoon and report.

HT204406 Problem with iTunes match cutting off a song on my iPhone, not Mac or PC
I have purchased the Katy Perry album "Prism" outside of iTunes and matched it with iTunes match. When I try to play the first song "Roar" on my iPhone, it plays only part of it and then cuts off and plays the second song. This only happens on my iPhone, when I use iTunes match to play the song on either my mac or PC using iTunes, the song plays fine without any issues.
I've tried turning off iTunes match, and then starting it again, no luck. I powered off, then on my iPhone, no luck. I've downloaded the song out of the cloud and still has the same problem... anybody have this problem too or can help?Some additional observations:
When I look at the album, the song "Roar" has a length of "2:05", but once I play the song by pressing it, the song begins playing and the slider shows a length of 3:39 (close to the correct length). However, once it hits 2:03, it stops and starts playing the next song.
Interestingly, using iTunes on my mac, the song in the album view shows "2:04" but once I double-click the song, the length changes to "3:43", but plays the complete song without any problems. -
Sank the old iPod. Bought a Nano. Upgraded iTunes. Can't find a way to synch the device. Also picked up iTunes Match assuming it would work with this, but seem to believe I am hosed based on NOT having another iOS device and the Nano not supported by iTunes Match.
For a guy who works in Technology and advises on strategic go-to-market issues, I feel like an 80 year old trying to program a blue ray player.
Any phone or chat assistance available for me to accelerate this brute force fumble bum process?also, i think i have used the same email/password on both devices and thats whats mucked it all up. I didn't really understand how itunes worked before i jumped it...I don;t mind deleting all on my ipod if i can just get the nano set up with music and keep the games, audiobook purchased on it...any suggestions?

I Want To Duplicate The Songs In a Playlist Then Edit Them (But Keep The Originals Intact)
I've done this before I can't remember how ...
I've made a special playlist. Now I want to share that and rename the album name and the artwork for this special event -- but I want to keep the originals with original infor.
I thought there might be some sort of "duplicate" command but I'm not seeing it.
Wht I figure I do is take the playlist, highlight all the songs, go to advanced, Creat AAC Version and then on the AAC copies do the command i and edit information for multiple songs. That way I keep the originals as is and have a playlist with "Happy Birthday" as the album name and a picture of a birthday cake as the album artwork.
Is there an easier way?

Now ... what am I doing wrong?
When I highlight tracks then hit Command R nothing happens. When I hit Command D I hear a faint electronic bong sound and nothing else. When I right click I get:

All of the songs from the ipod came from your computer in the first place.

This is a pretty simple issue to fix.
For Windows 7 or Vista: Start> Search for 'Services'> Select the Services that shows as a Program> Click on Apple Mobile Device> And then press Start.
Windows XP> Start> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services (You may see this on the first Control Panel page depending on which view it's in)> Apple Mobile Device> Start the service.\

Is there a way for your backup to remember what songs you have downloaded with itunes match
i use itunes match, but i download the songs to my device as i have spotty service where i work and live.
i am upgrading to a larger size iphone and dont want to have to search through itunes match again and select all the songs i want to download again once i get the new phone. is there a way that itunes match will "remember" what song i have downloaded to my device and "re-download" them to the new device?
maybe via a playlist then just download the playlist? this seems like a lenghty way of doing it though.

Why can't I change the order of the songs on a playlist on my iPhone?
When I try to change the order of the songs in my playlists, my iPhone continues to put the song back where it started. I can add songs all day long, but I cannot change the order. The other problem I am having is the same iPhone will, instead of moving the song I tap and drag, will move a different song. It is usually one of the songs either above or below the one I tap, but not the one that I see moving when I tap and hold.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.That's the normal intended behaviour of the Library. I'm not exactly sure why it is, but I guess it's to make it clear to users that if they want to "fine tune" the tracks they should use a playlist (just like you can't use the burn button in the library).
I'm sure you've noticed that you can still sort the library by clicking the headings. -

If you go to the Now Playing screen, the Repeat control is the the arrowed racetrack icon on the left side right below the scrubber bar. Tap the icon to change. It is white when Repeat is off.

Transfer purchases from iPhone and a Music Sync
NOTHING. Tunes and artists are still NOT SHOWING on my iPhone5\
BUYING another copy makes it available on te iPhone, but at double the price

This problems is ONLY on the iPhone 5It might take a while (30 minutes or more) for the initial sync to finish.
When it finishes, here's how to see all you desktop bookmarks:

I've just signed up to iTunes Match as I have songs on my iPhone 4 which wont sync with iTunes as they are from CDs but I can't see my music in the cloud now. Anyone had the same problem and have an easy fix?
What fixed it for me:
On your computer, open iTunes > My iPhone (or whatever name you gave your iPhone) > "Music" page
Uncheck "Sync Music"
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
Uncheck the box for every song, playlist, etc.
Click "Sync" button (bottom right) (This step may be unnecessary, but I did it and got the result I wanted.)
Let it run and finish
Check the boxes for the music you want on your iPhone
Click "Sync" button (bottom right)
Let it run and finish
See if that doesn't work for you. I tried a lot of things that did nothing, but this seems to have fixed it, and quickly. -
I'm sure this question has been asked and answered, but after days of looking I cannot find a solution. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I have iTunes Match and recently deleted all of my music intentionally because I plan on using iTunes Match for a good long time and I also know that I can download my files in bulk if I ever the need arose. That being said, now I am having to individually click on songs to make them play. I will get the message "The song 'x' could not be used because the orginal file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
Then I click "Cancel" and the song plays from iTunes Match. Is there a way to make this happen for all of my songs? Thank you in advance!Hey I had the same problem-
The fix to solve the error was quick and easy:
-Go to My Music tab and click on the song view to show all tracks.
-Then simply organize by the iCloud Download column. (if not shown, right click the column menu)
-The songs without any sort of iCloud icon shown are the ones with the error as you mentioned.
-Select all of those and hit delete. It will then ask to delete off of iCloud but make sure to click NO.
Voila no more annoying error on every SINGLE track over and over. I felt your pain, and now we are free! -
