Word PDF transverse pages

I got the problem that when there are transverse pages in the word document, it saves several pdf documents. For each part with the same page settings an own file its self. Who knows how to solve that issue?

Preview does not have that capability. Go to MacUpdate or CNET Downloads and search for software that can do such a conversion.

When converting multiple word and excel docs to a combined PDF random pages have blue background in the finalized PDF.

I have a user using Acrobat 10. It was installed two weeks ago and initially had no problems. Today she reported that when she tries to convert multiple word and excel docs by selecting them, and right clicking on them to select convert/combine to PDF, random pages in the finished PDF have a blue background. I did some searching online and can find no information about this problem. Can anyone here shed some light on this issue and maybe point me in the direction of a solution? Any help is appreciated. So, something I didn't consider was that this could be a setting in the office docs. The reason I didn't consider this was be cause we tested multiple docs and had similar results each time. I went back and looked into this possibility and found a setting in word that was causing this issue. Although the word doc showed no page color when opened in word, if I went to "Page Layout" -> "Page Color", a shade of blue was selected. By selecting "No Color", and then converting/combining the docs to PDF we got the desired result. Thanks again for your reply!

Emailing Documents in Word / PDF format not working properly

Is anyone else having problems with emailing Pages documents in non .pages formats (Word / PDF)?
On the laptop the email is sent, leaves the outbox but never arrvies at the recipents address. Same in the iOS App. If you send as Pages it arrives without a hitch. I have tried both emailing from within the doucment (Menu Bar > Share, and from the iCloud & OSX finder without opening the document).
At a guess the attachments are getting currpted and not being recived at the other end. This problem started on 26th June and has never happned before. Maybe something to do with the backend changed to accomotate iCloud syncing.?

I have a 21.5" iMac, bought December, 2014. I have Yosemite 10.10.2 installed and I am using Pages 5.5.2.
How do I get a Word Count in Pages 5.5.2?

View menu > Show Word Count.
A floating panel will appear at the bottom of your document. Pass your mouse over the right-side of this floating panel and you will see up/down arrows. Click. Choose Word count from the list of available counts. The floating panel now displays word count, until you change it again. You can also move this floating panel with a command+click+drag, in case you want it below your footer content.
You might want to download the free WordService service solution from the OS X App Store. I provides you with many additional features (e.g. Sort Ascending, Document Statistics, etc.) The act of downloading this application will install, but not activate several services. You activate what you want in:
System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services : WordService:servicename.
The WordService application will be in your LaunchPad (on your left Dock). Run it and choose Help. This will launch the Preview PDF viewer and a document showing all the Services available, and their description. Services in OS X act on selected document content. If you want more detail on the number of words, characters, and spaces in a selected paragraph, you would use Pages > Services > WordService:Statistics.

Attachments in MS word document in Pages

I would like to open a word document containing excel and pdf attachments embedded in this word document using Pages for iPad.
Would I be able to open these excel and pdf attachments in Pages?

As far as I know, the feature is unavailable in Pages for Mac so it would be surprising to see it in Pages for iPad.

Yes. I do it using Adobe Reader for PDF files, Pages for Word files, I can copy from Safari or iCab Mobile and paste into another app. I use my finger even though I do have a stylus. I rarely use my stylus anymore, but yes it's possible.

I just paid for Adobe PDF pack and I think I am having problems installing. When I select to print from word, PDF is not an option. Help!

If you are on Windows, you can download and install the CreatePDF Desktop Printer, which would allow you to "print" to PDF from Word. You'll find a link to the installer on the CreatePDF page at https://cloud.acrobat.com. Here are the instructions for installing it: Using Adobe PDF Pack

How can I create an accessible PDF using Pages?

I am interested in being able to use Pages (and actually also Keynote) to produce accessible PDF documents, ideally following the PDF/UA standard.
Government agencies require that electronic is created and shared in an accessible fashion.
I know it is possible to create accessible PDF (or well-tagged PDF) in Microsoft Word - but only on Windows unfortunately. I could also use OpenOffice, but to be honestly I find Pages is the more productive tool for me.
Any pointers as to whether and how to create accessible PDF from Pages would be more than welcome....

Hi there, I suppose I didn't make myself very clear. I am working for a regional organization for persons with disabilities and we create publications that are accessible to various kinds of disability, i.e. deaf, blind, etc. We convert ordinary reports to accessible text for the benefit of the blind. There are programs/apps that provide sound/voices that will 'read' the text. Acrobat PDF has such a feature called 'Readable PDF', which if composed properly via tagging, etc, will be converted and saved as 'readable PDF'. You can do this using In-Design. But I am also looking at the possibilities for Pages (I like this program a lot because it's easy) but I am not sure if there are tagging features here that will allow be to prepare the report as a 'Readable PDF' file. Canot email in pdf from pages + keynote with iPad air

I can't email à document in PDF from pages and keynote with iPad air. I reset the iPad an it don't work

Can you mail the files in any other format at all? Did you try emailing a Pages file as a Pages file or as a Word doc?
OK. My response was too late. If you can email them in another format, I don't see how the problem could be with the mail app, but I suppose it's possible anyway. I know that you restored the iPad, and this should help, but try resetting all settings.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. No data will be lost but all of your settings will have to be entered again.

Not that I know of - there may be quite a few apps that can save a PDF file as a Word or text document (I use Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for it - you may want to download a trial version from Adobe) and then you could open it in Pages.

Hi Rich,
If your instructors want you to turn in assignments in Word format, then I'd advise you to get Word. If your work will be Printed or used in PDF format, Pages will do nicely. It's not that you can't export to Word from Pages, it's that you don't need the hassles of semi-accurate conversions.
If money is a big concern, you can install one of the free clones of Office. LibreOffice is generally well regarded for this purpose.

Cannot mail pdf from Pages

I have opened a Word document in Pages, and then after correcting it, I have tried to send as a .pdf by Mail. But the Mail attachment turns out to be a picture not an attachment. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, is there a workaround?

I know how to TAP & HOLD. I've been doing it since the first iPad came out.
Based on your explanation, I can confirm that this problem seems to be happening to emails with one-page PDF files, that are sent from an iOS device only.
The only options that appear when I TAP & HOLD are: Mail, Print and Copy.
And in this case, Copy doesn't seem to work at all! I can't copy the document to a new email or anything like that.
I don't have this problem with emails I receive from other sources, including my Mac, regardless of how many pages or what the size of the PDF file is.
If this is normal behavior, then whoever programmed this at Apple is a total idiot!
I have confirmed that nothing seems to be wrong with the email and attachment as I can still access it from my Mac and from GoodReader on my iPad, and the PDF behaves as expected: I can extract text, highlight, underline, etc. the content in the PDF.
So the problem is with iOS Mail trying to display the PDF in the message as if it was a picture. If the TAP & HOLD would work as expected, then there would be no problem, but at this time there is a problem and it needs to be fixed!

I am trying to save or "export" a pdf file into pages so that i can edit it. please if anyone knows how this works help! i am new to mac and slowly learning..SLOWLY

pdf files are not designed to be edited. They are meant to be a fixed document that can be read anywhere but the way they are constructed does make it hard to deconstruct them.
Adobe Acrobat Pro will let you export a .pdf to Word .doc and will let you take bits of the graphics and text and make minor changes.
Preview .app on the Mac will let you select and copy text from .pdfs.
Pages will let you bring in single pages of pdf as graphics but they will remain uneditable.
What exactly are you trying to do? Perhaps there is another way to achieve that.
