Working with tag-library which is packed in WEB-INF\lib\jar-file.jar:

Hi,
When importing a webworks war file, which contains default taglib.tld in the webworks.jar which is packed in /Web-Inf/lib/webworks.2.1.7.jar the war file.
I am getting following error while running the jsp.
Error(6): duplicated tag definitions within the same TLD: text
Error(6): java.lang.NullPointerException
Error(6): Unable to load taghandler class: /webwork
Line which points to Errors is "<%@ taglib prefix="ww" uri="/webwork" %>"
But, There is a taglib.tld in /Web-Inf/lib/webworks.2.1.7.jar!\meta-inf\tablib.tld
which mentions uri as
<taglib>
<tlib-version>2.2.1</tlib-version>
<jsp-version>1.2</jsp-version>
<short-name>WebWork Taglib</short-name>
<uri>/webwork</uri>
</taglib>
But, There is no following entry for '/webwork' (uri) in web.xml
Same war is working fine in tomcat webserver.
Can anybody explain me how to work with this kind of a setup, where taglib is packed in some jar which is packed in Web-Inf/lib dir.
Thanks,
Siva

I found the problem. The web-app was finding the class in the APP-INf/lib. But the problem was being caused due to a reference to another class that was being loaded by the webapp classloader which was not visible to the class inside the common jar. The solution was to make sure both classes were being loaded by one class loader.
Thanks anyway

  • Work with ADF Library jar file

    Hi
    My English isn't very good
    I use jdeveloper11.1.1.3.0
    I want to work with ADF Library jar file.
    I created two generic application. In each application I have a View Obj(one for employees table and one for department table ) and added them to App Module,
    then I made a ADF Library jar file for each application: adflib_emp, adflib_dep
    Then I created two separated application and in each application I created a BTF .
    In emp_TF1 I added adflib_emp jar file to application and in dep_TF2 I added adflib_dep jar file to application.
    These two applications work well. Then I created ADF Library jar file for each of these applications named: adflib_TF_1 and adflib_TF_2
    Finally I designed a main page to use these two jar file(adflib_TF_1 , adflib_TF_2). I added thses two jar file to application and then I dragged and dropped each TF to main page as a region:
    <af:panelSplitter id="ps1" splitterPosition="500">
    <f:facet name="first">
    <af:region value="#{bindings.emp_TF1.regionModel}" id="r1"/>
    </f:facet>
    <f:facet name="second">
    <af:region value="#{bindings.dep_TF2.regionModel}" id="r2"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:panelSplitter>
    When I run main application both TF show employees table, but one TF should shows department table and the other one should shows employees table.
    I read oracle document and created my application on base of it. But I don't know why this happen and how to solve it?

    Hi,
    most likely the names of the application modules are not different but the same, which means you have a naming problem. Application modules (if they should be used as is) must have a unique name

    Have Sony reader 505, ADE doesn't recognize when attached to mac OX 10.6.8. works with reader library but not with ADE

    YEAY!
    I just got the solution (that worked for me, anyway) from a Sony support rep. No PC or VMWare needed.
    OK, you've installed Sony eBook Library v3, and Adobe Digital editions, you've set up your acocunts and authorized your computer on both of them, and you've authorized your Reader with the Sony Library application.
    You go to the public library ebook download page, either through the Sony Library or just through a bookmark.
    You check out a book, and open it in Adobe Digital Editions, which still won't recognize your Reader.
    BUT, in the Sony Library app, you can now click "File, Import.." and go find the pdf you downloaded with the Adobe app.
    On my Mac, it was in ~/Documents/Digital Editions
    Import it, and drag it to your Reader.
    The first time you do this, it will ask you to authorize the Reader with your Adobe ID.
    Worked like a charm.

    I bought Numbers because my Excel files would not work with Mavericks. How can I import a non-functioning Excel file into numbers? (As of now, the file NAME transfers but data does not.)

    HI Dave,
    I'm surprised you get no message when you attempt opening the Excel document in Numbers.
    I'm assuming Numbers 3.1, since you are running Mavericks.
    Does the Numbers file that opens show any content?
    Does it contain a table?
    How large?
    Does it contain more than one tab (indicating more than one sheet)?
    Do those other tabs contain a table?
    Have you checked those tables for data content?
    There have been cases in the past of imported documents opening with white text on a white background, giving the appearance of containing nothing. Check for this by selecting a block of cells, then applying a Fill colour or a Text colour using the Format button (paintbrush).
    I'd also suggest attempting to open the Excel files using LibreOffice, which can be downloaded from the linked website.

    Barry

  • Jce in web-inf/lib - does not work

    Hi all!
    I've got the following problem:
    I accomplished to form an ear file that contains an ejb jar and a war file. The
    ejb jar manifest includes several jars that are part of the ear file. Additionally
    the web app needs the following jars: local_policy.jar, jce1_2_1.jar, US_export_policy.jar
    When I put these files into the WEB-INF/lib of the webapp or into Manifest's Class-Path
    of the ejb.jar I always get the same behaviour:
    I can deploy it (yipieeh) but when I run the web app I get the following exception

    respectively to wls's classpath! But what I need is one ear file that contains
    everything ...
    Please if you know this problem, a workaround or you have only a guess reply to
    this message.
    Thanks for every serious response,
    Chris.

    Well if you got the jar file to work in the /lib/ dir of the EAR file with
    the manifest.mf Class-Path: entry then more power to you. This didn't work
    for me for some reason, just let each ejb/war/etc compile to its own dir and
    deploy it with all its dependencies included...
    Your MalformedURL exception looks different than the security exception you
    had earlier. Im guessing that putting the files in a common location in the
    ear solved the class loading/security exception problem.
    Your malformedURL problem is probably just that, a malformed URL.
    Make sure all your associated metadata is pointing to the right place (use
    paths of /someApp/somejsp.jsp, etc. dont use ../../somejsp.jsp)
    make sure your using the right protocol (dont put one by default). This
    would be my guess. Maybe its expecting an SSL call of the form
    https://something or t3s://something but I'm not sure
    hope this helps,

    from
    where. Here's the way the WLS class loaders work...
    WLS system class loader
    |
    EAR class loader
    |
    EJB class loader
    |
    WAR class loader
    everything down on the chain there can see up, but not vice versa. You
    will
    get a class not found
    That way, the war files can call ejb's without problems, but EJBs can
    not
    access war file classes.
    One other possible way around your problem is to add a /lib/... directory
    to
    your EAR and include a Class-Path: section in your manifest to point
    to the
    JCE files. I think this allows war files to see each others classes.You have to manipulate the EJB-Manifest and put the jar files into the earfile!
    At least this is how it worked in my case! But I 've tried that alreadybut then
    I get a very similiar Exception: something with can not authenticate: ..MalormedURLException:
    no protocol ...
    This
    didn't work for me when I tried to create a shared library between
    EJBs/WARs
    but I didnt try to share files between 2 wars so who knows.

  • WAR: making executable with reference to lib in WEB-INF/lib?

    I have a custom library (jar file) with a manifest to show version infos when started/double cliked. this works quite good. this jar file is now part of a bigger war file. now, i want to double click the war file to show the version info. i already added a manifest to the war file and double clicking works as expected but the (main) class is not found. i tried to add WEB-INF/lib/mylib.jar to the manifest Class-Path: entry, but that doesn't work. is there a way to tell the manifest, that it should look in the war's web-inf/lib subdirectory to look for classes? or is this an approach that couldn't be solved?

    My first reaction here is to say you shouldn't do that. It seems to me that you're just asking for trouble when you start modifying the manifest class path of your WAR to try and make it an executable war - if you do succeed you might end up not being able to have the thing function as a WAR.
    but that aside, I don't think (I've not tested/invistigated this very much) that you can access classes contained withing jars that are themselves contained within a jar without doing some sort of custom classloader craziness - and if you have to go down that route then you definitely don't want t o muck up your WAR like that.
    I suggest that you create a Servlet (or Struts action, or whatever you have going on) such that when you hit that via a JSP (possibly protected via some sort of security) you get the results of your versioning method dumped out on your browser. That would be more "natural" and go with the Zen of the technology you're using.
    Good Luck

  • NoClassDefFoundError with jar in WEB-INF/lib

    Hi,
    I have an enterprise application running on Websphere 6. I have one external jar file in WEB-INF\lib (it's commons-lang). I am getting NoClassDefFoundError when trying to use classes in this jar file from the web app -- I thought that it was sufficient to drop the jar in \lib and then it would be picked up but obviously that is not the case.
    As a workaround, I've created a shared lib on the app server for this jar, and added it to the application. This works fine, but I can't understand why is should be required.
    Shouldn't it be sufficient just to put the jar file in WEB-INF\lib under the webapp?

    I think Websphere 6 already includes commons-logging. So the error you are getting may be classloader confusion, which is easy to do with Websphere and hard to understand (so I may be confused here). Try not including it anywhere, not in your web app and not whatever it was you did to make it work. Restart Websphere and your web app and see what happens.

  • Project librarys not included in WAR file with deployment (WEB-INF/lib)

    Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.2
    Project Libraries are not included in WEB-INF/lib when deploying. Although the files are selected in the deployment file at 'Contributors'. Within the 'filter' the .jar files are missing.
    To solve it i have to register again (i have already made the librarys project library's) the files within Tools->ManageLibrarys as user library's.
    The other workaround is to make the library's System Library's within the project.
    In my opinion it is a bug that you must include the project librarys as user librarys within the 'LibraryManager'

    Unfortunately no, the issue with output folder being ignored occurs only with example apps bundled with Workshop product.
    You can try the following workaround:
    - In Workshop, Project > Properties - Java Build Path, switch to Source tab - "Remove the source folder listing" - Click OK and dismiss Properties window.
    - Project > Properties - Java Build Path > Source Tab, add the same source folder entry - Click OK
    - Export as WAR
    With this you should see the class files bundled under output directory structure (Ex: WEB-INF/classes).

  • Please help.! Problem with locating classes within Jars under WEB-INF/lib.

    Hi All,
    I have a problem which you guys would have faced already...Here it goes..
    I'm using OC4J 10.1.3.0 and use ADF for my web page. I have a controller class which refers to JSF/ADF APIs and this class is archived as a jar file and put under WEB-INF/lib, Also, all the classes related to JSF/ADF are available under the same WEB-INF/lib folder.
    When I invoke my page, the controller class is getting called but it throws NoClassDefFound Error for the ADF based class. i mean, these ADF/JSF classes are not getting found when my jar class is placed within WEB-INF/lib. However, when i extract my jar into WEB-INF/classes, it works.
    I'm sure, i miss some entry for classpath somewhere. Can any one please point me to right direction...?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    I do not have a direct answer to your question, but could you try the ClassLoader query tools to see if your classes/jar are loaded by the applications:

    Please help with : StringIndexOutOfBoundsException
    On WL 6.1 sp2, I have one EJB jar that deploys fine in an expanded EARstructure,
    this has EJB jars and the web apps together running under a single JVM.
    But when I need to deploy the Web App to a separate server & JVM, stillusing
    WL 6.1, and leave the EJBs in another WL server I getjava.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException.
    >
    I have about 8 ejb jars. When I put one of them in the Web-App'sWEB-INF/lib directory.
    I get java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException when it starts up, justafter/during
    the extracting of classes for the standalone Web App. The exception stacktrace
    mentions manifest, but the manifest for the ejb jar is just standard. Itdoesn't
    even have a Class-Path: entry, which all the others happen to have. anneeds
    to contain the server EJB jars.
