Workitem attachment missing in mail Outlook/Lotus

When an email is generated from a particular workflow. I get the following message in my
outlook inbox
Subject :Please release purchase requisition 0013001141
Body : Work item in R/3 System: DEV
Please log on to the R/3 System and look in your inbox
Please execute the work item by opening the attachment
however the attachment(link) to the workitem is not present.
Please guide me as I am new to this.

Am I correct in thinking that your e-mail is the result of a SendMail step in a workflow?
If so, the standard solution doesn't have any support for attachments as far as I know. Attachments, e.g. to enter SAP Business Workplace or display the work item, is something that the work item notification report adds to the mail messages.
If your e-mail is the result of work item notification, make sure you have selected the attachment options if you are using RSWUWFML2, or that your customizing specifies inclusion of attachments if you are using the extended work item notification solution in more recent releases.

  • Remove Workitem Attachment from Outlook Inbox

    Hi, Workflowers,
I would like to know, if possible can I remove 2 of the attachments. I think normally you have 3 attachments in the user's outlook inbox: for going to the SAP inbox, for displaying the work item, and for executing the work item. I would like to remove the attachment for displaying the work item and the one for the SAP inbox.
Is it possible to also customise the Missed Deadline mail subject so that it doesn't have the 'Missed Deadline...' part?
    Thanks in advance.
    Darlington

The text I am talking about is not the text in the Description tab of the PFTC transaction. I am fine with that. What I am concerned about is the standard text that appears in the outlook e-mail after the Description as follows:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
And the message subject saying for example "Missed Deadline:...."
I know that when you run the report RSWUWFML2 under the block "Standard Text for Notification", there is a message class for the mail Subject "SWU_NOTIF" Message Number 2, which has &1: &2 in transaction SE91. How can I determine the text in these variables during runtime (In fact, I would like to Hard-code this text)
After I select "Collective Message" in the "Send granularity" block I have removed SWU_NOTIF_PROLOG1 for "Before Work Item Description" so that the standard text:
"Your Workflow inbox in the SAP system DEV, client 100, contains the following work item:"
does not appear in the outlook mail since I don't need it.
But I have not removed the SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1. I would like to know how I can edit the text:
"Open the SAP shortcut attachment in order to process the work item.
If you have any problems logging on, contact your system administrator."
which I believe is the one involved with SWU_NOTIF_EPILOG1.

  • Missing attachment size in mail 4.3

Hi, when I attach a jpeg to an email, I can see the size of the attachment at the bottom of the window but when I attach a pdf, the 'message size' and 'image size' are both missing. Please does anybody know if this is standard or do I have a problem?

    Stuart,
The problem in the earlier version of Mail was that if the Image Size button were used with PDF, to anything other than Actual Size, the PDF was converted to a JPEG and havoc resulted. It was very purposefully removed in later versions of Mail unless true image files that could be downsized as JPEG files were what were attached. I know this because I was one who pointed out the error that could result. The resizing was prevented in the final Version of Mail 2.x, but the Message size Report and Image Size button were not removed when attaching PDF until Mail 3.x and later.
The current behavior is not a bug, and the Message Size was only meant to appear when Image Size button could be used to reduce the size of the files, and thus the entire message.

Open Terminal in Utilties and copy/paste
This will send the attachment embedded inline. (This works in Snow Leopard, but not sure about Lion. Do a test first. If it doesn't work, just google "send attachment embedded + Lion." You don't actually have to send the message to see how it will appear.)
    defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 0
To reverse the setting, change the 0 to a 1
However, whether this will work or not will depend on what the e-mail client on the receiver's end does with it.

  • I'm missing my preloaded Outlook mail after using it for two days/new HP Envy

I have a new HP Envy 64bit 17" running Windows 10,  I went through the set up of mail using Outlook that was loaded when I got it.  I set up the mail account (pop) and successfully imported mail to my new inbox.  I used the mail outlook app for 2 days just fine both sending and receiving.  I'm finishing set up for my computer last night, I believe? I completed set up for Secure Pass Fingerprint; at least it said successful ect.  This morning, I opened the computer, clicked on the mail icon on the windows pane, and there is no outlook, inbox, or anything.  There is a screen that says Mail, not synced yet, and basically blank.  There are icons on the lower left of the screen there such as a calendar, which I also set up yesterday and in fact all my appointments are there. What happened to my email/Outlook?  Did I do something weird, or just stupid?  THANKS

I use few devices inside my house but AT THE SAME TIME, one machine can get emails before the others. Normally my Windows 8.1 phone is the first one to sync my Outlook and Hotmail accounts. I deleted emails on one machine and they sometimes they appear again on other machines. Regards.

    Hi Gary,
I have seen this issue occur with users who have this registry setting missing or have improper permissions.
When you double click the attachment to launch the pdf it is saved and opened from the temporary folder unless saved specifically to a location.
If you dont have the below mentioned registry key or improper permissions then attachments fail to open.
Please  heck if the following reg key exists:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
    Value Name: OutlookSecureTempFolder
If the value exists, and if the value contains a valid path, Outlook 2010 uses that location for its temporary files.
If the registry value does not exist, or if the value points to an invalid location, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2003 creates a new subdirectory under the Temporary Internet Files directory and then puts the temporary file in the new subdirectory. The name of the new subdirectory is unknown and is randomly generated, depending on your version of Outlook.
    Please check the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security
Note the location for: OutlookSecureTempFolder key
Check if the same folder exists in the following location and if not create a corresponding folder in the location on C:\Users\<User account name>\Appdata\Local\Software\Microsoft\Windows\......

  • Not able to send workitem to external email id or Lotus notes.

    Hi,
I am using standard program RSWUWFML2 to send workitem to external email id like lotus notes. When I  execute this program i get the message "Work item xxxxxxxx sent to xxxxxxxxxxx".
As per the documentation of the program, program should process the workitem and send the same to external mail id. Please let me know if i miss something.
Below are the settings i did for program.RSWUWFML2
    Job suffix                      2
Tasks (blank = all) : task name of the workitem to send is entered. only one task is entered.
    New Work item = X
One message per workitem = X
    workflow entry = X
    workitem = X
    workitem execution = X
    logs all =X

  • Is it possible to zip a file and send it as an attachment in a mail?

    Hi,
Is it possible to zip a file and send it as an attachment in a mail?

When you use OWA in something other than IE, you're using OWA lite and no--it is not possible to do either in OWA lite (well, new Exchange stuff makes my answer a little less emphatic but still: pretty much no). Thanks Microsoft. But this guy made it possible to mark unread/read and select all/none:

  • Unable to attach PDF to email (Outlook for Mac 2011)

We are pushing out software upgrades for CS5 and MS Office 2011 for Mac. We've discoverd that we can't use the Attach to email feature in Acrobat. The spinning rainbow wheel pops up for about a minute, and then Acrobat is non-responsive and we have to force quit. We can still drag and drop an attachment so we have a viable workaround but obviously we'd like to be able to use the automated feature.
    All software is up-to-date.
In the preferences panel of Outlook, we have selected Outlook to be the default mail application.
As a sidenote, this feature doesn't work with Acobat X beta either. However, in the beta version of Acrobat X, if we declare Apple's mail application to be the default, it works fine. Unfortunately we use the Office suite as part of our enterprise system, so that's what we need to work with.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've logged a ticket with Adobe but I haven't heard back from them yet.
    Thanks for any advise.

    Take the bhama way
figured out how to make it work.  I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro (mac)
and MS Outlook for Mac 2011.
For those who are interested, this is what I did:
    1. Create a folder on desktop to save your pdf¹s files you want to email
to.  Mine is named, "PDF to Email"
    2. Open Automator, create a "Folder Action"
    3. At the top, "Choose Folder", choose your newly created folder on the
    desktop
    4. Choose the "Rename Finder Items" action from the action list.  I chose,
"Don¹t Add" on the add a Copy Finder Items Action menu.
    5. On the "Add Date or Time to Finder Item Names" I chose, "Name Single
Item" from the first drop down menu.
    6. Click on "Options" at the bottom of that window to select the "Show
this action when the workflow runs" so you can rename your         file
something other than the Acrobat default.
    7. Choose the "Create New Outlook Mail Message" from the action list and
add it below the "Name Single Item in Finder Item Names"
    8. Choose "File>Save As" and give your file a name.  Mine is, "PDF to
    Email".
    9. Close Automator
    10. Open Acrobat X Pro.
    11. Go to "File>Action Wizard>Create New Action"
    12. Here you choose, "Save to>A Folder on my computer"
    13. Choose the folder on the desktop that we saved earlier
    14. Save the file, with the action name you will remember.
Now when you are in Acrobat X Pro and you want to send that .pdf file via
Outlook for Mac 2011, follow the steps below.
With the file you want to email open, go to "File>Action Wizard>(Action
you created) Mine is "PDF to Email".  It will take a few seconds, but you
will get an "Action Completed".  You will get a pop up that allows you to
name/rename the file. Then it should open your Outlook with your .pdf
    attached and ready for sending.
You might need to tweak the actions to suit your needs, but this should
    work for you.

It's supposed to work now? I've made sure I'm on latest (check for update)
and it says I am. Still get an error. It does bring Outlook to the
forground, but same error when I hide Outlook - An error occurred while
trying to create a mail document. Suggestions?

  • How to attach files to mail

When I attach files to mails (.pdf, .jpg, .docx etc.), they arrive in Windows Outlook embedded. My mail settings are "Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments" and "Always Insert Attachments at End of Message".
I know how to open these attachments in Windows Outlook but my recipients do not. To suggest that they learn how to, as I have seen in some places, is arrogant. If I apply for a job by email and attach my resume with instructions on how to open it will reduce my chances of getting that job close to zero.
How can I attach files that will be received as files and can be opened by the MS Windows recipient with left mouse clicks?

Another way to send files to others is to use Dropbox.
In your email you don't attach the file, but rather include a link that you reciepeints then use to download the file.
I use this method for particularly large files, but it can be used for any file.

And as others have said--it doesn't matterwhether
the recipient uses Lotus notes or Outlook or elmor
pine or a webmail client to read his mail. Youdon't
care what client you're mailing to.Of course jverd uses posh MUAs like elm and pine
    'cause he's so arrogant.
Real programmers on the other hand, use mail.

<a href="http://sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=182990&highlight=mailtifpdf">In this thread of SAPFans,</a> you will find a sample code. It uses an older version of the FM, because I had to change the sender, but you will find there the commented call to the FM you want to use.
I wish it will be helpful,
    Vic
Edition: please, don't bump the linked, although you can find it useful (or not).
I will not provide further help about it, because it's an old piece of crap code I've never touched from those days, and I'm not more involved in mail sending.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Unable to open PDFs in received e-mail (Outlook)?

Unable to open PDFs received in Outlook (Office for Mac 2011).  Adobe XI message displayed says "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."  Same PDFs attached to same mail messages open fine on iPad or iPhone. What could be the problem?

    ivone dos santos,
Do you see a message like this when you open one of your PDF documents?
Your PDF document is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form".  The message is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.
As far as I know, no PDF viewers for iOS and Android mobile devices support dynamic XFA forms.  Here are the examples of the iOS apps that do not support dynamic XFA forms.
    Adobe Reader for iOS
    Mail
    Safari
    iBooks
The PDF preview feature in Dropbox and other apps
The message is trying to tell you to use the latest desktop version of Adobe Reader, not the mobile version of Adobe Reader.  I agree that the sentence, "You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader...", is somewhat misleading.  The message is baked into the dynamic XFA form that was authored by Adobe LiveCycle (desktop app) without regard for non-desktop apps (i.e. mobile apps).  Upgrading to the latest version of Adobe Reader for iOS would not help in this case.
Currently, the only option to view and fill out dynamic XFA forms is to use the desktop version of Adobe Reader.
    Sorry for the confusion.
