I archived groove workspace and put a password on the same but now i forget the password, is there any way that i can retrieve the workspace.

Entering Workspace password issue

After the 10.2 update, a few of my sales force has issues when entering the workspace password and taking up to a minute and even two minutes to log into workspace. Before it was instatanous. I have directed them to wait three days for the device to become fully synced with the server and if that doesn't work, take the battery out. Each person with the problem has done as I instructed when the phone was charged or charging and within 4G signal.
What else could be the problem?

There likely is a minimum number of letters for that. I have you tried doing it with 3 or more letters?

Reset workspace password

Hi Scott,
I reset my password but never received any email for new password. I cannot access my HTMLDB account. Please look into it.

You can try this. I hope your problem must be solve.
1. Run sqlplus as a dba user
2. run @apxchpwd.sql
3. Run apex
and enter Workspace: internal
Username : ADMIN
Password : your password

Workspace password not working

I tried to login in to Oracle Express and it would not accept my password. It was the password I had been continually using so I don't know what the problem was. I went to the command SQL command prompt and was able to change the password. However, I can not get into my previous workspace and when I try the reset it does not send me an e-mail. Any suggestions?

Are you trying login to oracle by sql (command line) or Apex (internet browser)?

Reset INTERNAL Workspace Password

I have forgotten the password to the internal workspace user account. Is there a way I can reset it?

I forget my rescue and recovery workspace logon in password...

Hi, anyone can help me with this??? I am using Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. But i got a problem.
I wanted to reboot my laptop but when i was using my rescue and recovery, it suddenly prompt up a box, requested me to key in my window password. I tried all my password but the system deny it and it pop up a box, saying i never register with Client Security solutions and i need to key in the password to retrieve password or passphrase.
Please teach me what to do. Last time i reboot my computer, it was normal with no box prompt up requesting me for password and not sure starting from when my Client Security Solution don accept my window login password anymore.
What should i do when i forget my rescue and recovery workspace password?? Please help. Thanks

hum not much you can do, unless you wipe the whole harddrive clean and reinstall the whole OS.

Login to internal workspace. There you can manage all workspace users and reset passwords.

Database App Development VM (Nov 2011) APEX username and password

Does anyone know the Workspace names, usernames and passwords for Instance Admin(Internal workspace), Developers and Users for the latest Database App Development VM (Nov 2011) available from OTN?
The VM forum is very quiet/unhelpful.

OK I followed Roel's suggestion and changed the ADMIN password using the apxchpwd.sql utility. There is no other way as there are no users defined in APEX except the instance administrator ADMIN
MAKE SURE you run V4.1 of apxchpwd.sql as V4.0.1 doesn't work and gives a security error. (Down load APEX 4.1 from OTN then extract apxchpwd.sql from the APEX directory.)
If you now try and connect to APEX and get an error in the browser (firefox) INTERNAL ERROR then shutdown the VM and restart it.
you should then be able to log onto the Instance Administrator as follows:
WS: Internal
UN: ADMIN
PW: <what you changed it to in the apxchpwd>
After you log on you will be asked to provide a new ADMIN password with all the naming restrictions enabled. (these can be turned off later, under manage instance...security settings. Under "Service Administrator Password Policy" change the radio button to "Use policy specified in Workspace Password Policy")
After logging into the workspace manager you will see that the OBE workspace has a status of TERMINATION_IN_PROGRESS5 .
If you want to retain this WS then create the OBE user as a workspace administrator and developer in the OBE workspace. If you set OBE/obe as the UN/PW
then you can log out of the Internal Workspace and log back in as the OBE developer and start application development.
Amazing how none of this is documented in the download! If you don't know much about APEX then you are locked out!

Reset schema password

Hi,
Just to be clear - I don't have any sys or system password ( it is driving me crazy but this is the situation )
I was able to obtain APEX internal workspace password in order to create new workspaces and schemas if i need them.
I do have an option to create DB schema using APEX administration and create a new workspace if i need it, BUT I can't manage that schema at all!
For example now i forgot one of my schema password, i need to get in using TOAD but i cant. I was tring to fing in APEX administration if i cant reset/unlock the password but i CAN'T!
It is illogical to give you permition to create the schema but not to manage it.
Is there a solution for my problem?

Hi Vikas,
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error occurred
Cause:
Oracle classify this as a 'generic protocol adapter error'. In my experience it indicates that Oracle client does not know what instance to connect to or what TNS alias to use.
Possible Remedies:
If running on the server (or workstation) that is running the database (i.e. if the database is local to the machine) then try explicitly setting 'ORACLE_SID'. e.g.
set ORACLE_SID=<sid>
and then try again. If this works then consider whether to make the change permanent by specifying it as a system variable.
FOR RUN PARTICULAR SID:
NOTE: Please check the services for particular database instance is running or not before trying this!
Use services.msc to check the services of database.
Go to command prompt
C:\apex> set oracle_sid=<DB name>e.g C:\apex> set oracle_sid=orcl
C:\apex> sqlplus /nolog
SQL>connect sys as sysdba

Uable to see link 'Managing Application Express Users'

When I login to admin page for the workspace, I can only see 'Monitor Activity ' 'Change Password ' and 'About Application Express ' links not other two mentioned below. Am I missing something here. Please help

Column Header Text not displaying for multi-set column block

Hello,
I have assigned a key figure set to a column block in a report writer report in ECC 6 using table FAGLFLEXT with both additional text functionality use and without use of additional text.
I can't get the column headings text for these key figure sets in the column block to appear on a report writer report.
Your assistance in getting the column headings text to appear will be greatly appreciated.

For more clarity, and to make sure that the error is not in my database or series query, I have replicated the error online here:

I plotted 3 series in the first region, including one series with no data for one period.
I plotted the fourth series in the second region, which has no data for 2 months. When I try to plot this in the first chart, nothing is displayed.
I can't understand why this is happening, I hope that there is a solution for this. I can share the workspace password where the above application is, if some one wants to take a look.

404 Listener Error

We are running Oracle Portal 3.0 in a Windows 2000 environment
connecting to Oracle8i Enterprise Edition database Release
8.1.6.1.0. The problem:
1 - Login to the administration side.
2 - Click on the Navigator icon at the top of the screen.
3 - Click on the Pages tab and drill down through Top-Level
Pages, then find an item with Subfolders. At this point, if you
click on the Content Area's Tab, it works with no problem.
However, if you instead click on the Subfolders link and then
click on the Content Area tab, I get the following error message:
Error: The listener returned the following Message: 404 Not Found
Normally I would think it would be a database problem, but
that's not so. I have been able to reproduce the error on 3
different test environments, and one production environment,
some using Oracle on Windows NT, and others using it on Linux.
Any resolution would be appreciated.

The apex_public_user was already unlocked, and sqlplus connection using the password works.
The apex_public_user is set in the "java -jar apex.war setup --database MYDATABASE" step. I've confirmed several times that it matches.
Running apxchpwd.sql is for changing the Internal workspace password, which is different. The default apex login page should be visible regardless of the value of the Internal workspace password.

Note that I have not installed apex on my computer, so I can not use apxchpwd.sql script to change the password.

I want to get to my workspace administration page...the page that you can create another workspace or manage the privilages of a schema.
Do you know where I can do that??
On the apex that I have installed in my pc and the applications run locally I can log in the administration page.
I thought that I could do the same on apex.oracle.com

Changing default security policy during install

Hi
I have a requirement to automate the install of oracle 11.2 for training purposes but the new default password policies are causing a few problems.
Does anyone know how to change the default password policy (post-install) to the alternative setting of "Use policy specified in Workspace Password Policy" from within a pl/sql script?
We don't need the strong password policies for the training and after each session the system is re-installed.

Not during install. iTunes folder is always in My Documents but you can tell iTunes to store the media files elsewhere. After library file (.itl) has been created, can even move it to somewhere else.
