Write error messages in log file.

Hi,
I want to use a log file to store messages instead of server log. Can anybody give me idea.
Thankyou.....

Hi, could DBA check MS SQL Server connection logs???
May be server has some limits (for example sessions, memory and e.t.c.)

    Hi!
I've got internet connection from my provider via VPN. After configuring network (article  Microsoft VPN client setup with pptpclient) internet works, but many error messages appears in daemon.log and messages.log like that:

After a few days this two log files are bigger then 2Gb. Could you please help me find out the reason of this messages?
    Best regards.

Hi, Joerg. Welcome to the Discussions.
    1. re: Smart Crash Reports error. "Smart Crash Reports" is an Unsanity hack. Either you installed it or it was perhaps installed by another of their hacks you have installed. In either case, that's a question for Unsanity to answer.
    2. re: The SpeedTools extension you cited. Check their documentation or their Web site for instructions on uninstalling the extension. You may be able to start up in Safe Mode (which prevents third-party kernel extensions from loading), then drag it from the Macintosh HD > System > Library > Extensions folder to your desktop, then restart your Mac. However, I'd check the SpeedTools documentation first. See my "Uninstalling applications" FAQ for important advice on uninstalling software.
    Good luck!

  • How to Write Soap Message to Log File

    Hello users,
Is there a config setting that causes soap messages to be written to the server log. I'm using JBoss/Turnkey. I found a reference in the JBoss documentation (Ch 5 J2EE Web Services) that offers this guidance:
    (5.4. Monitoring webservices requests)
When processing web services requests, it is often useful to be able to observe the actual messages being passed between the client and the server. JBoss logs this information in the org.jboss.axis.transport.http.AxisServlet category.
To enable web services logging, add the following debug category to the log4j.xml file:
    <category name="org.jboss.axis.transport.http.AxisServlet">
    <priority value="DEBUG"/>
    </category>
When enabled, all SOAP requests and responses will be logged to the server.log file.
Tried it but not working yet. Thanks for any help.

  • SQLScript , writing messages to log file

    Hi,
We're developing SQLScript and executing them directly on Unix via Unix command HDBSQL. We use the -o keyword with HDBSQL to write messages like comments, custom errors into a log file. The only way we know how to force custom messages into the log file is the SELECT "Text" FROM DUMMY.
Now our SQL consists of multiple procedures that may be called in a nested fashion i.e Proc 1 calls Proc 2 which in turn calls Proc 3. We noticed that the SELECT FROM DUMMY way of writing comments into the log only works if the procedure is the first procedure in the line of nested calls(Proc 1). SELECT FROM DUMMY from a  sub/nested procedure does not make it to the log file.
Is there any other way we can achieve this? Other DBs have options like DBMS.output which work well in such scenarios.
I would like to thank this group for being ever so helpful in all the issues we have faced so far.
    Regards,
    Nehal

    Hello,
I do not agree. have you taken a look at Oracle9i Supplied PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference?
You can use UTL_FILE and DBMS_OUTPUT to achieve exactly what you want.

  • Error message c:\program files (x86)\itunes\ituneshelper.exe   r6034

can not log into itunes, get the following error message:  c:\program files (x86)\itunes\itunes help.exe
    R6034
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still unable to login

Apple's advice on this issue can now be found here: TS5376: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See the user tip Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested strategy.
If you have difficulty downloading the iTunes setup file try clearing your browser's cache or using an alternate browser.
If content is missing from the library following the repair see Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.
For device connectivity issues following the repair see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5.
MobileMe is a discontinued service and should be removed if present. See HT2992: MobileMe: Uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel for Windows for details.

I found a BUG but it's not well documented :

Symptom: I2C-WRITE and MDIO_READ error messages are displayed on the Cisco ASR903 router.
Conditions: This issue occurs after an interface module hard or soft OIR is performed.
    Workaround: There is no workaround.

    Hi Reza,
Thanks for your reply...yes lldp is enabled...and so far we did:
    - Reapply voice-vlan configuration
    - Disable/Enable LLDP
    - Reboot the Switch
    - Reset the Phones
... and only if we do "debug lldp" then it is working...strange

This parameter, FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET ranges from 0 to 3600 seconds. It is important to specify your oracle version, since a similar issue is reported for the 10gR1 release.
The solution for it would be to increase the value to the suggested one in the alert.log file, but it could be completely out of range from the valid values, so set it to zero and let the oracle instance calculate the value. You can check the output at the V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY view at the columns TARGET_MTTR, and ESTIMATED_MTTR prior to proceeding with modificaiton.
On the other hand, I suggest you to read this metalink note
Kkjcre1p: Unable To Spawn Jobq Slave Process, Error 1089
         Doc ID:      Note:344275.1
    for the Kkjcre1p error message.

I'm not sure if this will answer your question or not, but I believe these messages can likely be ignored.
I'm currently running 10.2.0.1.0 Enterprise Edition in pre-production (yes, I know I should apply the latest patchset and I plan to do so as soon as I get a development box allocated to me and can test it's impact). I see the same types of messages that you've reported with each of my regularly-scheduled backups:
    a) The alert_<$SID>.log reports that there are errors in trace files:
    Mon Aug 10 04:33:49 2009
    Starting control autobackup
    Mon Aug 10 04:33:50 2009
    Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/blah/udump/blah_ora_32520.trc:
    Mon Aug 10 04:33:50 2009
    Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/blah/udump/blah_ora_32520.trc:
    Mon Aug 10 04:33:50 2009
    Errors in file /opt/oracle/admin/blah/udump/blah_ora_32520.trc:
Control autobackup written to DISK device
    handle '/backup/physical/BLAH/RMAN/cf_c-2740124895-20090810-00'
    b) The .trc files, when you look at them contain no errors - only these "informational" messages:
    *** 2009-08-10 04:33:50.781
    *** ACTION NAME:(0000105 STARTED111) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754
    *** MODULE NAME:(backup archivelog) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754
    *** SERVICE NAME:(SYS$USERS) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754
    *** SESSION ID:(126.28030) 2009-08-10 04:33:50.754
    c) I've verified that LOG_ARCHIVE_TRACE is set to 0:
    SQL*Plus> show parameter log_archive_trace
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    log_archive_trace integer 0
As best I can discern from my own experience, these should just be ignored and I trust (read: "hope") they will simply go away once the latest patchset is applied. As for you running Oracle XE, a patchset is not an option, unfortunately.

  • Writing Error Messages to a file

we want to write an error message to a file and are wondering what steps to take in doing so...
    thanks in advance

You can try calling System.setOut() to a custom PrintStream which prints to both a file and stdout.
The benefit of this is that you can keep calling System.out.*, or System.err.* and it prints normally in addition to printing to a file.
I wrote a (buggy) logger you can try out which does this. You can use it, although I recommend you look into writing one yourself, as this is buggy (and, knowing myself, probably poorly coded):
    SVN Repository:
    http://timothyb89.homelinux.org/kdrepos/log5j/
    Custom PrintStream:
    http://timothyb89.homelinux.org/kdrepos/log5j/src/org/log5j/Logger.java
(The LogFileManager ( http://timothyb89.homelinux.org/kdrepos/log5j/src/org/log5j/LogFileManager.java ) does the actual printing to the logfile)
Note that you might want to try using System.setErr() instead of System.setOut() (and changing calls my Logger made to System.out to System.err as well).
Hope it works (or you find a better way) ;-)

LR 5 - using it on a MAC-
Error message: "the following files were not imported because they could not be read (335).
I have been working with several forums and have tried all recommendations and none have worked.
I have tried reloading new LR 5 - and it worked for a short time and then stopped.
Very frustrated that I cannot talk with someone at Adobe.
The folks that have made recommendations are great but once their suggestions dont work they drop the link,
Is there someone or someplace I can take my computer to fix this issue.
It seems to be a problem between LR and Yosemite.

The permissions have been changed on the destination folder where the photos are to be copied into.
You must make sure that the permissions are set to Read and Write.
Or perhaps the destination folder has been changed accidentally to something else, and you need to change it back to whatever it used to be.

I get an error message "the following files were not imprted because they could not be read (266) on Lightroom 4 on my desktop.
No problems importing the files onto my laptop.  Using a SANDISK card reader and card.  What's going on on the desktop?

Leanne, check the write pernissions on the folder/drive you are attempting to import into on your desktop. The message usually means "cannot be written" - a not so clear message.
