Wrong assign messages in the collector logs

Hi,
Does anyone know what causes this type of errors to show up in the vCenterDC_Errors.log file for the embedded data collector?

Hi Lakshmi,
I suspected as much, but it is great to have it confirmed.
We have been having some issues with the stats collection jobs failing and turning the status of the collector to down, so I was trying to wade through the voluminous  logs and noticed these ERROR messages occurring regularly. One less thing to look into now
Thanks.
Cheers,
Milos

    Hi,
The Oracle database writes an audit trail of the archived redo log files received from the primary database into a trace file. This parameter specifies the level of trace that should be generated when redo logs are archived. The value of the parameter indicates the level of trace to be generated.
    Level      Description
    0      Disabled (default)
1      Track archival of redo log file
2      Track status of each archivelog destination
    4      Track archival operational phase
    8      Track archivelog destination activity
16      Track detailed archivelog destination activity
32      Track archivelog destination parameter changes
64      Track ARCn process state activity
128      Track FAL server related activities
It can be used in a Primary Database or Standby Database

There is a note # 833665.1 on this which states "The issue is caused by the Host Storage metrics collected by the agent" and also a Patch 8477122 has been created for this issue.
However, there is nothing mention in the Note # 833665.1 about the following one message.
    Feb 2 04:07:34 ndc-m9k-2-r1 oracle[7332]: [ID 566193 user.error] n2a get_local_info: ioctl (get interface flags): Interrupted system call
    Can anyone please tell me
    1. whats the significance of the "oracle[7332]: [ID 566193 user.error] n2a get_local_info: ioctl (get interface flags): Interrupted system call" message in the OS log?
    2. Does this message get stops on applying of patch # 8477122 ?
    Thank you,
    Bhavin

There are a number of known issues with the 10g agent on Solaris and patches are available. I assume you are running the 10.2.0.5 agent since you reference patch 8477122. If this is a brand new agent installation i would start with applying the latest PSU update which contains many related fixes. If you are still getting the error after this, open an SR with Oracle Support with your specific error message.

  • Can text messages in the incompletion log be found in any table?

We need to store and review the text messages found in the online incompletion log.  Does anyone know if these are stored in a table?  Or if they are always redetermined upon VA01 or VA02 transactions, does anyone know at what point in what program this happens if we need to build our own custom table to capture the messages?

The incompletion log table is VBUV - Sales Document: Incompletion Log
I think the table is filled in one of the following:
    > Function module - RV_CHECK_DOCUMENT_INPUT
    > Include - LV45FFUV: FORM FEHLER_BESTIMMEN
    I hope this helps.
    Gerard
P.s. Also look for structure VBUV_TAB as I think XVBUV comes for here.

  • File history stopped working after a warning message in the event log

I have encountered this twice that File history stopped working, the event log says:
Unusual condition was encountered during finalization of a backup cycle for configuration C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config
If I re-run it, it consumes the backup disk space but still failed to backup.
I have to manually delete all backup, turn off File History and re-configure it again to make it work.
This happened twice already, so all my file history lost after re-config.
    Anyone encounter the same situation?

    MICROSOFT is plagued by idiots!!!!
    - Just turn it off
    - then click  "select drive"
    - and when it asks you the retarded question... just click >>>>>"NO"<<<<<<<    -_-
Seriously... this is the answer.... frigging retards at microsoft... to think it takes an army of programmers and billions of dollars to create such idiocy!

I cant believe these morons put everyone through such hell and then don't even bother to follow up with the correct solution.
To top it of the moron moderator marks this as an answer??!!!
What a pathetic joke - I hope everyone reads this message before being punished by the miles of bullcrap in this thread -_-
    Microsoft = ridiculous
Thanks! I guess the TL;DR version is "to change your file history drive you need to discard the current temp files."
    Exactly :)
It's the bad wording in the messages.
the first message (which I can only vaguely remember so can't quote exactly) that gives you the impression you can continue
something but doesn't make clear that to so will need the "old drive" configured the way the "old drive" was.
Then the next message is just confusing:
“we can't copy files to this location.  Your current File History drive is disconnected.  Reconnect the drive and try again”
    sounds like
“we can't copy files to this location. [because there's a problem with the new location]
Your current File History drive is disconnected. [the new location is disconnected]
Reconnect the drive and try again [reconnect your new location and try again]”
When it should be reworded to say something along the lines of (in more formal language):
"You asked us to continue...give us the drive you were previously using...or if it's no longer available, click here to start from scratch"
(I know that's all the opposite of tldr but I'm trying again to put into words what I think was happening).

  • Need to find the way to get the actual error message in the alert log.

    Hi,
I have configured OEM 11G and monitoring target versions are from 9i to 11g. Now my problem is i have defined the metrics for monitoring the alert log contents and OEM is sending alert if there is any error in the alert log but it is not showing the actual error message just it is showing as below.
    ============================
    Target Name=IDMPRD
    Target type=Database Instance
    Host=oidmprd01.ho.abc.com
    Occurred At=Dec 21, 2011 12:05:21 AM GMT+03:00
Message=1 distinct types of ORA- errors have been found in the alert log.
    Metric=Generic Alert Log Error Status
    Metric value=1
    Severity=Warning
    Acknowledged=No
    Notification Rule Name=RULE_4_PROD_DATABASES
    Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN
    ============================
Is there any way to get the complete error details in the OEM alert itself.
    Regards
    DBA.

You need to look at the Alert Log error messages, not the "status" messages. See doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e16285/oracle_database.htm#autoId2

  • "Missing component" messages in the installation logs

I installed Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 on Windows, and I found some strange entries in the installActionsxxxxx.log files:
"# Not all the dependencies for the component Oracle HTTP Server 10.1.3.0.0 could be found. Missing component oracle.bc4j 10.1.2.0.0.
    # Not all the dependencies for the component Oracle HTTP Server 10.1.3.0.0 could be found. Missing component oracle.bc4j.oem 10.1.2.0.0.

    # Not all the dependencies for the component Oracle HTTP Server 10.1.3.0.0 could be found. Missing component oracle.apache.ojsp 10.1.2.0.0.
    # Not all the dependencies for the component Oracle HTTP Server 10.1.3.0.0 could be found. Missing component oracle.apache.ejb 9.0.1.0.1."...
This goes on for several pages. I still had the Oracle Application Server 10.1.2 installation packages on my computer, and I found out that several of the missing packages actually belong to 10.1.2, and several of them are earlier than 10.1.2.
My questions: is it a problem at all that these components are missing, or shall I ignore these log entries? If this is a problem, how to fix it?
    Best Regards,
    Gabor

    Hi Gabor,
You can ignor these log entries. (There is a bug logged. The installer team is looking for a good way to surpress these messages.)

  • Any guidelines using RSAL_LOG_WRITE to post message in the application log

    Hi SDN!
I've programmed a rather complex extractor. As most you will know, the real test is when the extractor goes live in productions;-) So in order to be able to check if everything works as designed - I've customized the extractor in order to post more or less entries in the application logs - This setting can be alterered in the uses system directly.
I've tested the functionality using RSA3 and the application log is filled as expected. The Application log object is RSFH and everything shows up fine. When tring to use it from BW - The application log gets no entries under object RSAP (Where they normally will end up).
I'm using the function module RSAL_LOG_WRITE to add entries to the same log as the macroes LOG_WRITE uses.
Does anybody have any experiance adding entries to the standard application log in the source system when extracting data into BW?
    Best Regards

Can this contribute to the sleep/wakeup problem when iMac won't wakeup after being put to sleep manually and not sleeping according to Power Saving settings?
    Thanks a lot.

  • I/O Frozen message in the Error logs

I see very often this message, do I need to take care any precautions, is it going to effect in long run?
I/O is frozen on database master. No user action is required. However, if I/O is not resumed promptly, you could cancel the backup.

    Hi,
You probably also have something like "I/O was resumed on database master. No user action is required". right?
I am guessing that you have some type of VSS/Snapshot at the same time. There are 2 step while the VSS process that need to frozen the IO, which might result with this error (first step might take till 60 seconds and second till 10 seconds).
You can check the presentation slide 14 the step on that marked in red (7, and 8).
    * You might reduce the time if you stop some VSS writers that you do not need.
    - Are you using the machine for services other than the SQL Server? If so, then you probably have several VSS writers and that might slowdown these steps.
    - How do you backup your databases, is there any backup based on VSS (like VDI backups)?
    - are you using snapshot, in any other way?

  • I am getting a "Sorry! Something went wrong." message on the Numbers App with options to Reload or Send Info. NEITHER are working. How do I fix this?

a file on my Numbers application is malfunctioning

Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
"P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

  • Table that stores the application logs messages for transaction CRMD_ORDER

    Hi Guru's,
I would like to know which CRM table that is used to store application logs (consist of error / warning / information messages) in transaction CRMD_ORDER? I would like to retrieve the text messages of the application log.
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
The logs are on tables BALHDR (header) and BALDAT (detail).
In BALHDR you can fill OBJECT with 'CRM_DOCUMENT' and EXTNUMBER with the document GUID (you can obtain it in CRMD_ORDERADM_H table).
The BALDAT is a cluster table, so the information is a little 'encoded' there for direct consulting without abap code.
Alternatively, you can use FM APPL_LOG_READ_DB to read the messages that are contained in any CRM document.
    Kind regards,

I am trying to do a full Time Machine Backup to a new external disk. The backup starts, and it says "Time remaining about 4 days." That seems like a very long time, but the real problem is that the computer "logs off" after a few hours, and the backup stops. The system preferences are set to "Never" for Computer sleep and Display sleep. The computer does not ordinarily log off automatically, but it has done this twice since I started the Time Machine backup.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the search box.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
