Wrong dest.storage type (921 / TRANSFER) is chosen when picking of OBD

Hi Folks,
I am configuring a new warehouse. while testing of the same i came across below issue.
wrong dest.storage type and dynamic storage bin (921 / TRANSFER instead of 916 / OBD No.) is chosen when picking of Outbound Delivery.
What may be the reason of this when all the settings of LE-WM interface are in place ?
I have made the configuration similar to an existing WH and same is working fine there.

IM-LE interface is one thing.
You should get from IM-LE interface which WM-movement type is used for your IM-movement type (in standard system e.g. im-mvt 601, 641, 643 for GI --> they are linked to wm-mvt 601).
In the definition of the wm-mvt (V_T333) you should have:
- destination storage type: '916' (V_T333-NLTYP)
- dymic bin inducator: 'X' (V_T333-NKDYN)
(Please be careful because wm-mvt definition as well as IM-LE interface setting might be WH specific...)
If your settings in config are proper, you should check your develpments (user exists, etc)...

For next empty bin strategy, the transfer order proposes next empty bin in a given storage type. Via tx LT1E , it is possible to change a storage bin and quantity in the transfer order and confirm the same.
However, Our requirement is to change the storage type & storage bin in a transfer order already created. Is there any user exit or programme we can modify to do the same

Negative stock how do we get this material out of Storage Type 921

As the perviuos answer, your question is a bit incomplete.
LB10 will give you transfer requirements according to either source storagetype or destination storagetype. So if you put 921 into both source and destination, then you should get all transfer requrements in and out of 921.
Then if you find the TR you are looking for you can go to LT04 and create the TO and then define correct destination.
Maybe this answers your question, else try specifying it a bit more.

Block 921 storage type from allowing negative values

Dear all,
i am administrating mySAP and i have a problem that the users have to do bin to bin transfer using the code LT01 which will allow them to post from storage type 921 and leaving the quantity in negative i tried to block the hole storage type for the users but they also need to use the code LT10 for processing storage location transfer now i am stuck can someone give a work around for bin to bin transfer other than LT01 or how to block storage type 921 from allowing negative values to be posted

WM- Wrongly triggered storage section in 902 storage type

hi
   I maintained the storage section( B11) in 902/ WE-ZONE . When i generated the GRN against purchase order ,
   during transfer syatem storage type 902 is triggering the storage section 001.. i dont want system trigger the storage
   section 001 for storage type 902..the system should generate the 902 for storage section(B11)

This is a std system behaviour, since the configuration is done like this in SPRO.Please check for the settings against storage type 902.
spro->Logistics execution->WM->Master data-->Define storage type -
>Define stsorage section
The system picks the section from here

HU without inventory management and message L3778 in storage type 999

Hi experts,
Need suggestion on the process to add inventory of an HU with status 'HU without inventory Management'. This issue has occurred out of the below scenario:
1. our warehouse is HU & WM managed.
2. We have a transfer order for a delivery document requesting to pick up 100 cases of MAT1 which is assigned to HU1.
3. While confirming the transfer order user has confirmed difference for the full quantity of 100 because the SU/HU was not found in the bin.
4. The system has set the status of HU as 'HU without inventory Management'. The HU is empty.
5. system has moved the stock from the bin to difference storage type 999.
Now user has found the stock for this HU and he wants to post the stock back into the bin. system does not allow to move the stock back to bin using LT01 as we get error message 'L3 778'.
What will be the best practice to get the stock back into the bin and post the stock into the same old HU.
Is there a process wherein we can post this stock to another bin and repack into the old HU?

Thanks Manish on the hint. I was able to transfer stock to partner location and then bring back to original Storage type/Bin. Below steps was used to fixed the issue:
1. Initiate a transfer of stock from WM/HU Sloc where the IM stock resides into Sloc 9099. An outbound delivery is created during this process.
2. Create a transfer order with reference to delivery and pick the stock from 999 storage type.
3. Create a Pick HU using LH01 and assign the HU on the pallet to the transfer order.
4. Confirm the transfer order using LT12.
5. Perform PGI for the delivery.
6. Use HUMO to display the HU and then you can transfer the stock back to WM/HU location using the storage location transfer option available on the HUMO screen(EDIT à change HU posting à Storage location)
7. Perform Bin to bin transfer to move the SU from 921 storage type to putaway the HU/SU back to the destined Storage type/Bin.

Storage area search for storage type

Hi Gurus,
iam trying to create a TO for initiainl Inventory load ( movement typer - 999), I enter the source storage type / section / Bin and dest storage type / section / Bin. Iam facing the error ' No storage area search has been defined for this material and storage type '. Please advise

Please check whether you have maintained storage type indicator in WM view for a material.
Also check whether you have maintaied storage type search, bin creation for the storage type.

Storage Type 916 in the outbound delivery

SAP GURU,
When i am creating a outbound delivery against a sales order...as my Plant is warehouse mnamanged so Warehouse will automatically get determined in the delivery based on SPRO setting but i am not able to find out how storage type 916 at the item level in picking view is getting determinated automtically.
If i check storage type search criteria in SPRO..we have not maintained 916 storage type for my ware house and picking combination.
Plz help in getting the logic of 916 storage type.

For a combination of a particaular plant+WH no, a material can have ONLY ONE storage type indicator defined..is it correct?
What if I need multiple storage type indicator for a specific plant+WH combination.

You can have multiple storage type indicators for a warehouse. However for a particular material, only one storage type indicator may be used for picking and putaway.
You would normally require storage type indicators for different search strategies. You may use an exit for the strategy.

WM-Backflushed materials issued from different storage type

Hello my client has an issue in WH Service order issue
we face the problem that articles which are marked for back flushing aren't properly handled by the system with service orders. In normal production orders when the activity is closed on which the articles are set, the back flushing items are atomically issued from warehouse type 100 (location Backflush according to the rules set by LPK1,2,3) however when the activity of an Service order is closed the items are issued from warehouse type 914 creating and imbalance in WM. Please Is it a configuration issue or any other issue i should liik in to.
Kindly guide me to handle this.

Hi,
Please check for service orders, yu should check CRATE parts and RELEASE ORDER parts. In their control cycles in LPK1/LPK2 you can define from which storage type / bin they are consumed when you book consumption against your PrdOrdservice order.
At the time of backflushing (in standard system) the components will go to 914+dynamic bin (or fixed bin, based on your settings). Normally TR creation is set on WM/IM interface and processing the TR you can move the components from WM to interim storage type 914. Thanking you.

Can we use any exit of COR1 to include storage type?

Checking for storage location when picking

Hi all,
I'm trying to put some code in the picking requirement to check whether user enters a storage location when they pick via program LV07A111.
the storage location is in table LIPS (item table), however, this table is not populated at all. Do you know why LIKP (header table) is populated, but not LIPS? If LIPS is not populated, do you know of another table where I can check for the storage location after picking?

Goto LT01 transaction with Movment type = 999 and stock category = Required stock category. Create a PCN and process the remaining process so as to change the stock type.

Transfer between storage types and putaway strategies

Dear All,
Here is my scenario and please guide me on as detailes as you gurus can on how to proceed achieve this:
When receiving good from a PO the materials are received in 902: How to move them to my Raw materials storage type?
Note: I have defined 4 storages types, one for raw materials, one for production, one for Finished goods and one for spare parts.
And once I move the materials into the warehouse, what strategies do I have to define in order to place the materials in specific bins? Here's an explanation on how I need the putaway:
I have 5 different racks or stacks but I need all materials to be placed in a specific row of the first level, lets say material A in 01-A-01 the first 2 digits are stack then level then row(SS-L-RR); Material B should be placed 01-A-02 Material C 01-A-03; meaning all the materials should be placed in the level A of stack 1 but if there is another recepit of material A and it is already full then the system should propose another bin doesn't matter which one as long as it is not in the first level (because this positions are reserved for other materials).
This is the same for materials D, E, F but those are to be placed in stack 02 in level A
I need this because that's the way my client work right now, it is like Lean manufacturing strategy, so whenever they need to pick materials they always have them available at the lowest level
Is there an automatic bin to bin TO creation for when the picking empty the bin at the lowest level then a TO should be triggered automaticaly saying move from whatever bin the material is available to the "fixed" bin assigned in level A

The variable here is that as I said before I have 5 Racks so in the other 3 stacks doesn't matter the levels, the materials can be placed wherever, and this will happen when receiving material A but all stack 1 is full then system should try to place it in the nearest bin available of stack 2 (only levels B, C, D) or if this is also full, then goes to stack 3 ( all levels available)
Please advise on how to map this, and the transactions and mvt types involved, and also please explain how should I make the picking or removal strategy to propose the picking always from the specific lower level bin, if not enough qty available then go and pick from other bin (and if it is possible at this point to create a TO to refill the fixed lower bin)

While trying to use the Transfer Order and trying to determine the storage type this error appears :
Data for storage type search is not defined (A   )
Message no. L3007
Diagnosis
Information on the storage type search has not been defined.
How ever , I have already configured the search and here is the Storage Type search's data in OMLY
1. Warehouse number : W10
2. Operation : A "Stock Removal"
3. Indicator :   E
4. Stock Category : Blank
5. Special Stock Category : Blank
6. Storage Location Ref :10
7. Storage Type : 10E

Hello,
The storage type in which you want to place the material or pick the material from has not been defined in the storage type search sequence.
You need to define the search sequence in customization so that storage type is determined automatically when the transfer order is created;
SPRO>>Logistics Execution>>Warehouse Management>>Strategies>>Activate Storage Type Search
In this go to determine search sequence and then
for warehouse number W10, operation as stock removal 'A' and in this maintained the relevant the storage type (10E) so that it is determined automatically.
