"Wrong Size" in and Unavilable Pulldowns in LR  Prints in PS

I have successfully printed in LR before but this time I'm running into weird problems. I tried printing an A3 size print (11.7 x 16.5) Landscape in LR, set the paper size to A3 (Retain Size, Maximum). I noticed that the cell size in LR read 11.92 for the Height even though the paper itself is only 11.7.
I tried printing anyway, my Epson Stylus 4800 Pro started its printing routine but then stopped and gave me a dialog box saying the paper size was wrong. I changed the cell Height to 11.5 and the same thing happened. Refuses to print because paper size is wrong, which it says on my Epson's screen.
Also, when I was setting up the job and pulled down the menu to ensure that Color Management was off, that choice was lined-out along with Paper Config, Roll Paper Option, and Expansion. When I selected one of those, a dialog popped up saying that Seiko/Epson didn't include these options in the software. I know that's not true because I've used them before.
So I sent the file to Edit in PS, sized the photo, and printed it out with no problem. The items which were lined-out were not lined-out in PS.
I'm got Mac Pro, 10.5.6 OS, and my Epson Stylus Pro 4800. And as I said, I've successfully printed other sizes before in LR.
Has anyone had this happen to them and/or do you have any idea what is going on?

Your suggestion of switching to 32 bit solved the pulldown items being lined-out. Also now can print without the dialog box telling me that the size is too large.
However, now that I've added a number of changes with the Adjustment Brush, LR has slowed down to an unacceptably slow crawl. When I've tried using the Graduated Filter tool, LR is so slow that when I try to move or rotate the gradient I can't reliably see the adjustment for so long that I can't reliably use it.
I'm using a Mac Pro with 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad- Core Intel Xeon, 16 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM. I've read postings here regarding similar slowness issues with LR, but is what I'm experiencing "normal" for this release of LR? If so, it is a sad commentary on the quality of the product.

    I am trying to make copies on my C6180 all in one printer and it says I have the wrong paper size and then spit the paper out.  Paper size is correct.  What is wrong.....this just started happening and nothing has changed on our computer.

    Hi @cflooring,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I understand that you cannot make copies on your HP Photosmart c6180 printer, and it is saying that you have the wrong paper size. I am happy to help you with this issue!
    For further assistance, I will need to know:
    If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
    If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
    If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

  • Create custom document with wrong size

    Hi,
    I have a problem (on Sun Solaris 5.8) when I create custom document with more than 10MB size.
    I've created an agent which detects the events on a custom data type
    MYDOCUMENT (extension .mydoc).
    When I put a new document test1.mydoc (size of 10MB for example), my agent detects the new document, creates a copy, sets the class object to
    MYDOCUMENT , removes the original document and puts the copy into the same folder.
    But sometimes, the copy created has a wrong size (less then 10MB).
    How can I configure the nfs server to be sure that the agent waits for the complete size of the added document.
    I need HELP !!!!
    Thanks

    Hi Pavithra,
                    yeah you can create your custom table by entering fields in Standard.  for more details

    I am trying to make a simple game of worms.I wan't to draw a rectangle in the center of the window where in the middle the game is played and on the outside score, lives and other such things are displayed. The problem is the rectangle won't draw properly because the window is the wrong size and I don't know if it is something I am doing wrong with the panel or frame.

            wp.startGame();
    }Somewhere in there is my problem.
    What happens is that the right and bottom walls of the Rectangle are cut off of the screen because the window is not the right size. I changed the code to determine if the coordinates of the walls were accurate every iteration and they were. I also made it check the width and height every iteration by printing out this.getWidth() and this.getHeight() and found that instead of a 600 x 400 window, I have a 584 x 364. I also tried changing the panel and frame's size methods to make a new dimension instead of setting it directly from my constants and it had no effect. I also added directly to those constants to make it precisely 600 x 400 but the rectangle is still cut off, so maybe I also have a graphics issue. The only other potential issue I can think of is that I have Vista but I looked around here and searched google and found no similar issues to this.
    I am not new to java but I am also not advanced. I just started using java again after about 6 months and I have made a pong game before without this problem, on another computer though.I am at my wits end. I'll check for responses tomorrow and thank you for any help or insight you can offer.

    the problem is here
    walls = new Rectangle(50, 50, WIDTH - 50, HEIGHT - 50);
    at best the right/bottom walls will equal the frame's dimensions. try it as
    walls = new Rectangle(50, 50, WIDTH - 100, HEIGHT - 100);
    but this won't get you exactly what you want, due to the titlebar height (30?)
    slightly different version

  • Printer prints wrong size

    HP 2570 Photosmart
    Running windows XP
    No messages
    No known changes
    I tried this question in the Home and Network printing forum, and after 4 days, not one person has replied, much less had an answer.
    Recently, my HP 2570 has been printing certain files the wrong size.  I have a graphics design program (basically line art) which is supposed to print my design at actual size.  The design has a background of a 1" by 1" grid.
    Until recently, I have had no problems.  Now, when I try to print a design, the print preview shows the image as it should appear, but the printed image is reduced to about 87% of the actual size.  This is easy to verify - I measure the spacing of the grid lines - they are 7/8" apart.
    I printed the same design on two different days, and the two printed images are NOT the same size.
    The only thing which I can find which seems unusual is that when I look at the printer driver details, I find FIVE different files.  They are:
    C:\\windows\system32\drivers\serscan.sys
    .....................................hpotiop2.dll
    .....................................hpovst09.dll
    .....................................hpowiamd.dll
    .....................................hpzc3212.dll
    Any ideas?

    Hi there,
    Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here(to make sure there are no software issues causing the problem):
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
    It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.

  • Site previews fine in Firefox locally, but when I published the site all the text is the wrong size

    I am a rookie web designer. I recently created a site using CS6. http://www.joshuahetzler.com When I previewed the site in Dreamweaver it looked good in Firefox and IE. I published the site and now it is messed up in Firefox. All the text is the wrong size. Does anyone know how to fix this? Does it have something to do with my hosting provider? (I deleted a wordpress site from the directory an hourago and put this new site in its place) Why does IE display properly, but not Firefox...

    Caused by a bad link to your site's CSS file.  This is pointing to a file on your local hard drive which nobody but you can see.
    <link href="file:///C|/hetzlerj/jhgc/menu.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Open your template and reconcile the path to your site folder.  It should probably look like this:
    <link href="../menu.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    Save Template.  Populate changes to Child pages.  Upload Child pages.

  • Increase redolog file size - Merits and Demerits

    Hi
    Currently, we are in  9.2.0.7.0 oralce version and having redolog file sizes (Mirrlog and origlog) of 100MB.
    Now we are planning to increase the size to 200 MB so that we could reduce the number of archive log files.
    Can you please let me know what would be the demerits of bigger size in redolog files?
    And also let me know the step by step process how to increase the size of redolog files?
    Thank you

    > I understand what you are saying but in our situation our backup policy is one time online backup  and one time offline backup in a week.....Online backup is on Thu and Offline backup is on Sunday.......
    >
    > In case of system crash if needed we would need to apply archive log files; If we have lesser number of archive logs; recover database would be faster.......correct me if am wrong.
    You are wrong.
    Ok, let's see an example:
    You took your backup on sunday midnight and your DB needs recovery on wednesday.
    Meanwhile you created say, 800 M worth of redolog data per day.
    That sums up to (monday, tuesday, wednesday) 3x800 M = 2400 M that need to be recovered.
    Going with your current setup (100 M redolog size) the largest archivelog file can be 100 M, makes 24 files to restore and recover.
    After changing the redologsize to, say 200 M, you only have 12 files to restore and recover.
    But know what? It's still 2400 M of data.
    Since you will likely not put every archivelog file to its own tape, but rather change the tape each day (just an assumption) or maybe don't use manually operated tapes at all, the little latency overhead in handling tapes doesn't count in to your overall recovery time.
    All in all you still need to feed the same amount of data to the recovery process.
    Apart from this:
    if you're discussing short recovery times, than you'd never perform just two data backups a week.
    You'd make online backups every day - maybe incremental ones.
    You' d use the flashback recovery area.
    An additional thing often overlooked: in many cases the ultimate performance killer for a restore/recovery scenario is not the technology in use.
    It's that when the case is there, the DBA is not sure anymore, what do to.
    He wonders:
    Where the good backups are.
    How to get them back from the 3rd party backup tool.
    How to check them.
    Where to get a different storage system because the original one is broken.
    How to figure out what needs recovery
    How the tools work
    By ensuring that you always master the theory and the how to of restore and recovery - that's how you make it quick and painless (and dataloss-less).

    Lars

  • Landscape Orientation: [view bounds] gives wrong sizes?

    Hi
    Getting a view's bounds rect while in Landscape Mode returns the wrong sizes:
    Starting from a new UIView Template Project, I'm adding a single UIView to the ViewController in Interface Builder (in Landscape Mode) and setting the view size to width=400, height=200;
    However when I add a breakpoint in the ViewController (at viewDidAppear), the sizes are w=220, h=380!
    (Even though the view clearly is correct on the screen)
    In myViewController.m I've set:
    - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:
    (UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation {
    return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight); // home button on right
    In myAppDelegate.m
    - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions {
    application.statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight; //home on right
    [window addSubview:viewController.view];
    [window makeKeyAndVisible];
    return YES;
    and in the info.plist I've set: Initial interface orientation = Landscape (right home button)
    I'm not trying to rotate the view with the iPhone, it is meant to be fixed in Landscape only.
    Is there a workaround for this? I need to create some CALayers dependent on the correct view size.
    Thanks

  • What am I doing wrong - size issue

    Need some advice...as usual!
    I designed a site on my 17" monitor and set the margins to 0
    and table to 100%. However when I look at it on different screens
    it looks rubbish...big gap at the bottom of the page with the
    design cramp at the top. I wonder if someone would mind looking at
    my code and see what's wrong with it. The site was designed using
    various techniques including css for nav bars, tables, and
    fireworks elements. the site can be viewed at:
    www.shelleyhadler.co.uk/nerja.html
    thanks for your help. Shell

    >Re: What ams I doing wrong - size issue.
    Several things...
    First, your 17" monitor has noting to do with web page
    layout. What
    resolution is your monitor set to? it could be 800 pixels
    wide or 1280
    pixels... wouldn't that make a difference? That aside, screen
    resolution and
    size are irrelevant anyway. What counts it eh size that your
    viewers have
    their web browser window set at.
    I have a pretty large monitor, set to a very high resolution,
    so I open
    several windows at once and size them so I can see the
    content in all.
    Sometimes my browser is full screen and sometimes its shrunk
    down to less
    than 600 x 800. Your web site needs to accommodate that.
    Every web viewer
    out there is different and likes the way they have their
    screens set up. So
    you need to be flexible and your site needs to be flexible.
    Next, Don't design in Fireworks and import to Dreamweaver.
    Fireworks is a
    superb web ready graphics and imaging processing program. The
    authors
    (mistakenly) threw in some web authoring stuff that works
    very poorly.
    Design your pages using Dreamweaver. Learn html markup and
    css styling to
    arrange it, then use Fireworks to create graphics to support
    your content.
    Along the way, be aware of the diffferant browsers in use.
    Internet
    Explorer is the most popular (or at least most in use) simply
    by virtue of
    the Microsoft market share, but it is also the least web
    complient (by virue
    of the Microsoft arrogance) so some things that work there,
    (like your green
    bands) won't on other browsers and vice versa.
    That said... graphically, your site looks great. You have a
    good eye for
    composition and simple clean design. You just need to learn
    to use html to
    your best advantage to create some realy nice looking and
    nicely working
    sites.

  • CVI2010 sizeof-operator returns a wrong size of a struct

    Hi,
    in CVI2010 the sizeof-operator returns a wrong size of a struct, if it contains 4 bytes and other spaces. I suppose the adresses in the struct are also not like a c-programmer thinks. First a minimalistic code-example:
    typedef struct
      char oneByte;
      long fourByte;
    } TestStruct;
    void main( )
        int size;
        TestStruct tmpVar;
        size = sizeof( TestStruct );
        // here is size=8 instead of 5
    Since the last years and the last cvi-versions i had ever compiled
    with the Borland-compiler, that returns the correct size. Because in CVI 2010 the Borland-compiler is
    not included, i'm trying to use the standard build-In compiler. In my opinion the compiler seems to optimize the code in a way, my
    project can't work with.
    Because i'm reading the struct direct out of binary files i'm searching for a, not code based, solution.
    Is it possible to deactivate the relevant optimization?
    Thanks for your help and answer.
    Markus
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The compiler can have different alignments for struct fields: a usual behaviour is to have them aligned on a 4-byte boundary, that is every field starts on a multiple of 4 bytes from the beginning of the struct in memory. This appears to be the behaviour of the compiler you are using at the moment, which returns 8 as the size of the struct having aligned the fields.
    Struct alignment can be modified with an appropriate #pragma preprocessor instruction: adding #pragma pack (1); in your code instructs the compiler to pack structure fields without padding; after this instruction sizeof  will return the 5-bytes dimension you are expecting.
    Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
