WRT54G Pushing Through Wrong DNS

Instead of using my router with my ISP I want my business network to be my ISP and I want a second network to offer internet to wireless users.
My current network (old Intel IP address space):
IP - 169.254.2.1
Sub - 255.255.255.0
DNS - 169.254.2.214, 169.254.2.215
I want to plug the router into my network and use the wireless to offer internet.
I set the router to static and used the above info. I set the router to a local IP of 192.168.1.1.
The result for wireless devices are:
IP - 192.168.1.2
Sub - 255.255.255.0
DNS - 169.254.2.214, 169.254.2.215
As you can see the DNS is a NO GO.
So I switched to Automatic configuration. This is a pain and I had to setup a reservation on my BUSINESS DHCP however I noticed while in this mode I'm able to specify DNS servers on the router DHCP.
Now my wireless device results are:
IP - 192.168.1.2
Sub - 255.255.255.0
DNS - 192.168.1.1, 169.254.2.214, 169.254.2.215
Ok, this is better but not 100%. Why is it at home when I set the router to automatic (and DHCP to nothing for DNS) the router uses my ISPs DNS but all my wireless devices use the router for DNS? That's correct yet in my setup here at work it forces the routers DNS into the wireless devices? Doesn't the router know it's routing between TWO different networks? Why would passing on the DNS even be an option?
The way it is now works...most of the time. Sometimes a device gets hung up on the bogus DNS entry but if the user keeps trying it will eventually figure it out and move on.
Is there any way to remove these DNS entries?

No one? This must be a common problem or a common "mis"setup.
I decided to use an external IP instead of my local network. So now it's a more common setup.
I use Staic IP and input all my ISP's info. For local IP I use 192.168.1.1.
But all my devices for DHCP get setup as:
IP - 192.168.1.XXX
Gateway - 192.168.1.1
DNS - 66.146.XXX.XXX
Why is it using my ISP's DNS? Shouldn't this device use those DNS servers itself and setup my clients to use DNS - 192.168.1.1 (same as gateway)? That's how it works on my newer Linksys at home, except at home I use DHCP for my ISP. Then it allows me to specifiy my local DNS.
Why when I use Static for my ISP am I stuck using my ISP's DNS which wont even work?! Because 192.168.1.1 can not resolve to 66.146.XXX.XXX.
Please help!

Using the latest firmware. My WRT54GS (connected through a LAN cable) seems to randomely disconnect me from the internet for no apparent reason. For some reason, it can't find the DNS even though my cable modem shows that a connection is there. The only way I can get it working again is unplugging the router, reconnecting the, going into the router status menu and hitting DHCP release, then DHCP renew.
I'm not sure whats causing this though. Any help would be appreciated.

My GSv6 will function perfectly until my cable ISP decides to change my WAN IP address. Then your basic issues are: too little RAM, incompatible software, dysfunctional installation.
Add more RAM or kill as many programs that you use until the computer is running normally.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.

Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

The screen lights up but there is no sound alert or banner it may or may not be followed by a sound alert and / or banner or the sound alert may come twice even after the text/ email/ app notification has been checked. Buying a bundle doesn't mean that your device will work aborad you need to make sure roaming is enabled on your account.
If you have a EE extra plan you still need to make sure roaming is enable on your account your plan only gives you free/cheaper calls when abroad.
If your wanting to enable roaming on your account there could be a deposit to pay if you haven't had the device for about 6 months.
Unless you have paid the deposit then roaming is not enabled on your account.
You need to activate roaming on your account by calling 150 from your device or from a landline 01707 315000 before you leave the UK.
But you can still do this if you are abroad.
If you have had the device/contract for 6 months or over you can login to your online account and turn on roaming yourself

Several different ways to do this. You could stretch a sheet of plastic and have someone press their face into it. Doing it in photoshop. you can take and face and then create a displacement map to bend the shape of the wall then appling the image as a B&W in overlay mode to give the shaped tones to the wall. Such as the image below of the face on the path. The other option would be to get a 3D face like those in Poser, bring it into PS and convert it to a depthmap and then blend the depthmap with plain backgroud by blurring the edges, such as the other image attached of the face coming out of the building.

Move order from status: AWAITING RECEIPT (push through invoice manually)

Our Oracle super user is in sunny Australia and we are stuck.
I am trying to move a 3rd party order from Awaiting Receipt to Closed (to push through the invoice manually).
Can someone please help?
The order was placed using a partner chanel, it has been shipped and delivered, however the status has not moved... I hope this makes sense.

Im assuming that you mean that the order is in "Awaiting Shipping" when you say "Awaiting Receipt".
First check to see if the order has been shipped in Oracle. Use the Shipping Transactions window to query delivery lines for that order and find the status of the delivery lines. If they are in "Unreleased", "Released to Warehouse" or "Staged -Pick Confirmed", then the order has not been shipped in oracle. You must then complete the ship confirm process in Oracle.
If the delivery line status says "Shipped" then the order has been shipped in Oracle but the "Interface Trip Stop" process has not been run for that delivery. Run the Interface trip stop for the delivery to complete this step.
After that, run the Workflow Background Process for item type OM Order Line if it is not already running.
If the order line still doesnt close, review the Workflow Status of the order line for any errors.
Once the order line is closed, run The Autoinvoice program in Receivables to create the invoices (if not already running).

DirectAccess 2012 has wrong DNS servers listed

I'm setting up DirectAccess on Server 2012 and having issues with the wrong DNS servers continually added to the configuration. My setup is as follows, 2 Server 2008 R2 DCs running DNS, both have a static IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. The DirectAccess
server has a single NIC behind a NAT device and also has static IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. My problem is that I keep getting a DNS: Not working properly error on the dashboard. It says:
Error:
Enterprise DNS servers (fd7e:ed10:5cb6:7777::ac10:a22, fd7e:ed10:5cb6:7777::ac10:a21) used by DirectAccess clients for name resolution are not responding. This might affect DirectAccess client connectivity to corporate resources.
The thing is these are not nor ever have been the IP addresses of my DC/DNS servers. I've removed them by using the configuration editor but with each restart of the server they reappear. I examined the DirectAccess Server
Settings GPO and they are listed in the Extra Registry Settings section buy I am unable to edit that portion. I've read other threads on this forum that state I need to add the IPv6 address of the DA server as the DNS server but I still get DNS errors
when I do that and after a restart the same two DNS servers show up again.
Anyone have any ideas? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I think the 200 'limit' is just what will be fetched initially - if you have more than 200 then if you scroll down to the bottom of them there should be a 'load more messages' option.

we are deploying the SP1 via SCCM 2012 , and the success rate is around 50 %, its a Light touch installation where user will initiate the installation via Software Center ( Web based )
i was able to gather few errors , and this are the errors which failed during SP1 Installation 0x800f0828,
some errors which sccm reports display are

10021-
17031 -
1602 - User Cancelled installation
113 - No more internal file identifiers available
10070 - File handle reference is no longer available
10050 - A socket operation encountered a dead network
11170 - The task sequence manager could not successfully complete execution of the task sequence
i could not find the reason for some of the errors, also i am looking for a fix/woraround if any
Also i have noticed that in few computers the task seq failed at a place where after the sp1 installation a reboot happens and then PGP BYPASS utility is uninstalled, it did not start the PGP bypass uninstall after reboot
is there a way to cut short the Task seq and keep it simple ?
right now its like this
1. checking for prerequisite : checks for OS Name and OS version
2. installs PGP Bootgaurd Bypass
3. System Restart
4. Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
5. Final Restart
6. uninstall PGP Bootgaurd Bypass

If you are talking about the passcode that gains access to the iPad - you will have to restore your iPad in order to unlock it. You will want to use the last computer that you synced with so that you can recover all of your app data, settings, etc. this explains how to restore the iPad. At the end of the process restore from your backup as described.

If iTunes will not let you restore that way, you may need to use recovery mode to restore, and you can read about that process here.

IF - you are talking about a restrictions pass code that you put on the device to restrict content or downloading apps or something like that - you do not want to restore from the backup - because that backup will contain the passcode that you cannot remember and you will end up where you started.

I had the same problem. Go back into Verizon Tunes. At the bottom of the screen you should see 3 dots. Touch them and that will bring up additional choices, one being Downloads. In the Downloads choice is 2 bars. One bar is Pending Downloads (aka Music Inbox) the other bar shows your download history.

Yes, I had found that article too. I have repeated my actions precisely to those instructions several times and all produce the same result on the Air: "No network found". Yet the Air can find the network in the house with no trouble.
Usually these error messages are correct and the problem then is finding how they are true. So this was why I asked 'How can I establish that the Mac Pro has indeed set up its Wi-Fi network?' The article provides no answer to this question.
Can anyone answer my question or assist in other ways?

DHCPv6 gives wrong DNS address

DHCPv6 in the Time Capsule gives me wrong DNS address (same as GW). I can not figure out how to solve this problem. I am using the latest version 7.6.1.
First relevant screen (IPv6 page):
I configured everything statically. There is no problem in routing. I can ping everywhere. But there is problem in DNS.
Second relevant screen (TCP/IP page):
IPv4 is configured statically too. Time Capsule is giving IPv4 DNS 192.168.0.2 by DHCP correctly, but the IPv6 DNS is ignored.
Thirth relevant screen (Windows box):
This machine works as a Domain Controller and DNS so I need the DNS requests to end here. At IPv4 no problem. At IPv6 Time Capsule`s DHCPv6 is giving incorrect DNS address. It shoud give the one from line "IPv6 DNS Server(s)". Instead of it it gives the one from line "LAN IPv6 Address".
Because of this I have to shut the whole IPv6 down otherwise clients report that they can not resolve.

We're new to supporting Thunderbird here, so apologies for not knowing the program well.
I don't think this is a DNS problem, since the host name is completely different. Usually a DNS problem would be getting the wrong IP address for a host.
If you do not have any accounts on the old server set up for send/receive, then there's no reason for Thunderbird to be connecting.
I have a guess, based on experience with Microsoft email clients. If you open an old message that you have not read before (or move it out of your Inbox without reading it), and it is set to send a Read Receipt, this can trigger attempts to send the receipt out using the connection on which it was received.
If you have Thunderbird set to never send a read receipt, or to prompt you, then this probably isn't the issue. You could check your receipt setting here:
Tools > Options > Advanced > General

Server 2008 DHCP is handing out the wrong DNS server.

We have two new 2008 DC that handles, DNS, DHCP and WINS. Our DHCP scopes have been migrated to these servers. We are seeing some random issues where clients are using the new dhcp server but the old dns server information is listed for the some systems. We discover this by using network monitor on the old DC, DNS, DHCP server. Once the client performs a ipconfig /renew, the problem is corrected. Any ideas?

Based on your description, I understand that your Windows 2008 DHCP server hands out the wrong DNS server address.
To troubleshoot this issue, please perform the follow steps to see whether the clients retrieve the right DNS server address.
1.     Temporarily make the old DC, DNS, DHCP server offline.
2.     Check the new 2008 DHCP server setting.
                      i.        In the DHCP console tree, under Scope [172.16.0.0] SS Scope, right-click Scope Options, and then click Configure Options.
                     ii.        On the Advanced tab, verify that Default User Class is selected next to User class.
                    iii.        Select the 006 DNS Servers check box, in IP Address, under Data entry, type DNS Server IP address, and then click Add.
                    iv.        Select the 015 DNS Domain Name check box, in String value, under Data entry, type your domain's FQDN name, and then click OK.
3.     Restart the DHCP service.
