WRT54G v8.2 downgrading help

I want to downgrade my router to v3. It's new, so it doesn't have dd-wrt or other stuff. How can I do it?
I would really appreciate if someone could give me step-by-step instructions since i'm a novice in this kind of stuff.

You cannot downgrade the version of your router...You can only downgrade the firmware and it does not change the version...Your router will remain version 8.2 only...

Problem with Linksys WRT54GS router? Please help.

Alright, so I have the WRT54GS, and for the longest time after I bought it, it worked just fine, but I've been experiencing problems lately. We have 2 computers running off the router. One is a wired connection, and mine is wireless, which I'm starting to hate. So whenever I'm playing any kind of game that takes up a lot of bandwidth, such as Call of Duty 4, it's been really laggy, and I get connection interruptions quite often. It disconnects me from all my online programs and, i have to wait about 20 seconds and the connection returns again. It's almost as if the router is just under strain and temporarily gives out? It happens if the other computer is running, or if mine is the only one being used. I really hope this problem is normal and fixable, because I don't have the money for a new router. So I'm wondering, can anyone help me? Please, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Try the steps below to see if it will help.
There are many reasons for a poor wireless connection, and many ways to solve this issue.
1.      Give your network a unique SSID and do not use Linksys and set your SSID Broadcast to enable.
2.      You can also try A different channel. There are 11 channels and 1, 6 or 11 is better
3.      You can try raising your router approximately 4-6 feet above the floor and make sure the antennas are vertical.
4.      access your wireless software by going to your Profile or preferred networks, if any are named Linksys or ones that you do not know please delete them. Go to the settings or properties and check the information to make sure it is correct.
5.      See if there are any updated drivers to download.
6.      Try to use WPA encryption if you can

Linksys WRT54GS Version 6 router help

Hi all! I have a Linksys WRT54GS Version 6 router with Firmware Version: v1.50.6 and I was wondering if anyone could help me find a free log viewer, since the log viewer that comes with the router just gives the last few sites outgoing and incoming, and it doesn't time it either. Anything that will work with my router that will record all day info as well as put the time? I'd also like it (if possible) if it could identify which websites those IP's belong to; sometimes I will put an IP in the address bar and nothing happens or I get an error.
Also, I can't seem to be able to telnet into my router. I put the right IP 192.168.1.1 8080 which is the port that shows under Administration/Management "management port:" 8080. When I telnet (I'm using vista and I installed the telnet client and server) it says connecting and then just sits there for a long time and then asks me to push any key and says connection timed out. I also tried with port 80 and 23, nothing.

I gathered from what I read on the 'net that this particular router pretty much sucks in terms of putting 3rd party firmware, of telnetting into it, etc. So, is it basically true that there is no way to telnet into this? Also, no one knows of any monitoring or log viewer that works with this version?? Please?

IPhone 3G 4.2.1 Downgrade help

Hi please help me...
I recently updated my iPhone to 4.1 and accidentally updated the baseband, thus losing my unlock... I then had to resort to updating to 4.2.1 to update my BB to 6.15.00. I then decided that 4.2.1 was too slow for me and decided that I wanted to downgrade to 4.0, or if possible 3.x. I did shift+click restore in iTunes, but the bar restore bar on my phone stops at about 95% and will not move any longer.
Please help, I need the phone to go on a business trip and this is the only phone I have.

Yeah, try Google, but it may really be messed up. I would try to just return to iOS 4.2.1 but iTunes will return errors as it will run into issues with the updated baseband. If you got this far you either have some clue of what you are doing or just followed instructions for something you shouldn't have done. Just search google, not here.

I would not rely a hacked iPhone for business. Other than the issues you have sun into with upgrading and the baseband; hacking the iPhone can lead to vulnerabilities in the security of iOS. You are potentially letting hackers have free access to the information on your iPhone.

JUST BOUGHT WRT54G LINKSYS ROUTER, NEED HELP WITH SET UP PLEASE!

I've tried everything to get my WRT54G to work but no matter what I do I can't get past step ten on the CD. It asks for my password and when i type and confirm type it then press next it comes up with, Router Configuration Error. Would you like to try again?
I've been stuck at this for over two hours now, please help me

I had the same problem this past weekend. The CD is the problem. It is much easier to go to www.linksys.com/connect and first update the firmware (if applicable), and then use the EasyLink Connect tool. I works very well.

WRT54G Problems with internet, help, used to be fine on old router

Hello,
I've bought this router yesterday and have 4 major problems with it ( I've had a cheap router before this and all these problems didn't occur when I use that old router again):
1: I can't access some sites like gamershell or nvidia.com, while they DO load up with a proxy.
2: I can't download from at least half the sites on the www, for example everything from microsoft.com times out.
3: This disconnects after like 5 mins after starting a p2p program. Why is this thing not able to keep my connection alive ?
4: A lot of sites load slower, my internet speed is same, but it somehow now takes ages for some sites to respond after ticking in their adress or clicking on a link.
I'm Cabled to the router, the router is plugged to an old ADSL isdn speedthouch home modem from Alcatel ( 5 years old the modem is), I'm connected with it with PPTP.
Its a version 7 WRT54G router.
( my isp is planet NL, I'm on a 6mb down 1 mb up connection)
Help! Why does this disconnect with p2p, the cheap old router used to be fine 24/7 with p2p.

Go to the Setup page and look for the setting called MTU....set it to 1300 and save the settings.... close the browser.... turn off your router by unplugging it from the power.... turn it on after 15 secs then try getting online again.........
Check if you can access the sites afterwards..

S580 downgrade help ! Lenovo support really exists ?

Hello, i have a s580 smartphone and i did the mistake of updating it from 4.3 to 4.4 and now everything is a mess. Lag, is unresponsive , bad touchscreen and the list can go on.
I was looking for a solution from lenovo support but it seems that nobody can help me to revert this phone to it's original state to android 4.3 as it was two months ago when i bought it.
If anybody can help me with a tutorial on how to downgrade and a stock rom 4.3 please , i will be grateful ! You can't really use the phone like that...

Download file, put it on external SD card. Reboot to rocovery. From recovery do factory reset and wipe cache. Next apply update from sd card. Thats All. I try latest update S580_S111_150713_ROW, but same bugs as in prev. version. retur back to 4.3.

HFM downgrade help

hi everyone,
we are having some issues with HFM 9.3.1 and some of the functionalities, that were working fine on HFM 9.2 seem to have problem with 9.3.1. Does anybody have some idea about downgrading from 9.3.1 to 9.2? what do i have to back up and how? in brief. Any help is appreciated.

How many servers are involved?
Is it a production or Test System?
Are you bothered about your reports/Data? Or can you reload these in?
I have never seen anyone wind back from HFM 9.3.1 to 9.2 I do not know if much changed in the database Schema, but if you ran EPMA against your application in 9.3 its going to be harder to go back. Do you have valid backups of your databases and 9.2 BIPlus repositories (File and Database)?
Would you be happy to export your data from 9.3 and then load this into your old 9.2 application? or are you looking at migrating all your existing databases/repositories from 9.3 to 9.2? I do not think thats a supported thing to do :(.
Can you share with us what is not working correctly in 9.3.1 for example?

WRT54GS utorrent port forwarding (HELP PLEASE)

Hey everyone, I bought my WRT54GS router yesterday and cant forward utorrent ports. I have a static IP set up and am trying to use port 32069. I am sure all of my settings are correct in the port forwarding section, nad have tried checking/unchecking "enable". I think i've tried everything so far and it still wont work. If anyone can help me with this, it'd be greatly appriciated.

if the ports are not getting forwarded , try upgrading / reflashing the router's firmware ..

WRT54G huge problem NEED HELP! FAST!

I puchashed my WRT54G router about two weeks ago and connected it to my network and connected my xbox and xbox live to it. i noticed the live wasn'tworking as well as it should and found that i needed to open some NAT ports and update my firmware. While updating my firmware the interet page expired and i'd assume it didn't update, then i lost connection to live and the internet. It said on linksys advisor that the network had changed. So i tired to reinstall the router and it would'nt work. i made sure all the plugs were in the correct spot also, and even tried resetting the router but still no dice, and the big problem is i can't even view the router on that i.p website thing!!
p.s. i haveverizon internet and have a westell 1600 modem

verizon , ur modem is not really a modem . its a router/modem .
its already giving u an ip address in the same DHCP range as of the router . i.e: 192.168.1.xx
u need to just plug in ur router to computer , uninstall the easy link(wont be of any gud in verizon connection ,and its buggy as well ).
once router is connected to computer from port no.1.2.3or 4 ..any one .
Push the reset button on router for 30 seconds ..den unplug the power cable and plug in the power cable after 20 seconds.
then try to log into the routers web user interface - 192.168.1.1
see if it opens?
if yes
then ull find A local ip address option there- change it to - 192.168.7.1
and save settings .after saving the settings u might again kicked off from internet or set up web user interface.
then again , unplug the computer cable from router , and Power from router
wait for 20 seconds , now plug the verizon / westell into back of the router's into internet port as well.
power cycle.
lights should be like -power/wlan/1/internet - on router.
try to go online .
if it works ....let me know the status ?

Wrt54gs problem URGENT PLEASE HELP

hello, i have had the wrt54gs for about 4 months and my internet has been perfect but about a few a days ago, when i play counter strike source online or anything else i get ridiculous lag and it not able to play (500-600 ping), i have not changed settings or anything. when i watch the network monitor it shows about 4-5 bars on signal strength and link quality but every like 30 seconds it says you are connected to the access point but the internet cannot be found then like 30 seconds later it goes back to normal.
i have upgraded the firmware of my router and linksys helped me change some of the settings on the router but nothing happened.
can you please help me

If it's working well all the while and only have the problem recently, then I guess it can be the problem on Internet connection link, or ISP side.
Try to connect your computer directly to the DSL/cable modem, then play the game, see anymore lagging..

WRT54G Wireless Router Setup Help Needed

Hi,
I have a WRT 54G router I want to set up on my network.
What I want to be able to do is have the router allow wireless laptops to connect via wireless, but I want the router to assign the IP automatically through DHCP. Is this possible?
My Network information is as follows:
Router would be assigned IP 192.168.72.10
Network information for Office where this is going:
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.72.1
Primary DNS: 192.168.1.59
Secondary DNS: 192.168.1.52
any help would be appreciated...

First of all, let me say that, assuming you have a Linksys router in the main office, that there is no reason why that router could not use both fixed LAN IP addresses, and have its DHCP server turned on and give out DHCP addresses also. So, it seems like you could setup the system in the manner I mentioned in my previous post.   Unless, for some reason, you prefer not to do it this way.
If you really want to set it up with the WRT54G giving out DHCP addresses, then read on:
If you want to use the DHCP server in the WRT54G, you will need to place it on a separate subnet.
I'm still a bit confused by what you have written. You said that the WRT54G router "would be assigned IP 192.168.72.10". And later you said that my assumption was correct that you set the "Local IP Address" to this value.   However, if you want to use the DHCP server in the WRT54G, this will not work, because to use the DHCP server, the WRT54G needs to be on a separate subnet.
Instead, in the WRT54G, you would need to set the "Internet Connection Type" to "Static", then give the WRT54G the WAN address (not local IP address) of 192.168.72.10.   (You will also need to specify the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 , default gateway 192.168.72.1 , and DNS (proxy) server 192.168.72.1 ) You would need to reset the WRT54G's "Local IP address" to a subnet that is not used elsewhere in your network. Since you apparently already use 192.168.1.x and 192.168.72.x subnets, you will need to pick something else, perhaps 192.168.54.1 for the "local IP address" of the WRT54G.
In this type of setup, you would leave the DHCP server of the WRT54G enabled, and wire a LAN port from the office router to the Internet port of the WRT54G.
In this case, the WRT54G is in control of all your router settings, including port forwarding, DHCP server, and wireless settings. Also note that if you need to forward a port, you will need to forward the port through your entire network, not just the WRT54G.
One additional warning. I have not personally used a "3 subnet" system with Linksys routers. So I am not certain that all your DNS addresses will flow through the system properly. If it doesn't work, you may need to enter some of you actual Internet based DNS addresses (or perhaps your Primary and Secondary 192.168.1.59 and .52 DNS servers) into the WRT54G router by hand, rather than using the built in Linksys DNS proxy at 192.168.72.1

WRT54G and XBOX 360 HELP!!

I am using my wrt54g for my xbox 360. I am using an ethernet connection between them instead of a wireless connection. I talked to xbox and got the port numbers I needed and I opened them up on the router.
The port light where the ethernet plug for the 360 is in is flashing and my xbox is seeing no ip address at all. I don't know if I have my ip address correct for the ports, Please Help!

Kindly do these settings on your router for X-Box...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 53, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
2) On the second line in Application box type in PQR, in the start box type in 3074 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
3) On the third line in Application box type in XYZ, in the start box type in 88 and End box type in 88, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box and click on Save Settings...
3) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
4) Click on set-up and change the MTU Size to 1452 and click Save Settings...
5) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox
IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
6) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Primary dns :- 4.2.2.2...Secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1
7) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
8) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...

WRT54G Ver. 6 Help Disable Three Security Ports

I have the WRT54g Ver. 6 Wireless router and the Xbox 360 Wireless adapter. To get onto LIVE I need to disable three security ports. UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074. How do I do this? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

Hi,
You can try to forward those ports. Under Applications & Games->Port Range Forward. Give the port numbers and your device ip address.
