WRT54G2: Searching For Client Device

After logging into the router's web interface, and trying to access the "wireless" settings screen, I get the following message:
Searching for your client device.
Please wait...
If you haven't clicked on the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button on your client device, please do so now.
Which then hangs when it's 99% completed.

(1) I set up this router several months ago, with two client devices. At the time, I did not get this message. Instead, I was able to access the web interface the way I always have with earlier Linksys routers.
(2) This happens if I access the router via wireless or Ethernet cable.
Any ideas on how I can get past this screen? The client devices are an iMac and MacBook Pro.

Hard reset the router for 2-3 minutes ..... once resetted ... power down the router for few seconds ... power up & reconfigure the router ...
See if it works or not ....

    I think that it is not the reason why you can not start this application. You can configure the wireless connection on two simply ways. First one is to use windows settings (like in your case) or you can use some client to do this. In this way the windows option must be disabled.
    As far as I know the ConfigFree tool is no a client. This tool can help you to get more precise information about your LAN or wireless connection. Like you can see there you can create some profiles and enable or disable all hardware components that your unit use for communication with other external devices.

    One possibility: 
    How do you know it is searching for other devices?  Because you opened Settings > Bluetooth?

    I have a Trust BT-2100p which came with the Toshiba Bluetooth software.
    I can connect my Bluetooth remote control to my HTPC, but when I disconnect and want to reconnect again, I have to right click on the device, press "connect" and then "OK" in the popup window before it starts searching.
    The whole point with the remote is that I don't need a keyboard or a mouse.
    I can make a simple .bat-file that starts the connection automatically every x seconds, but it can't press the "OK" button.
    Is there a way to make it search for the device automatically every x seconds?

    HID devices are automatically connected as soon as a button was pressed on it. I checked the internet regarding your WII devices. The problem in your case is that this devices supports a none standard function which must be configured first in oder to reconnect by HID automatically. So this has to be done by the software which you mentioned. It has to configure the controller which should be used. This device support 4 of it.

    Why do you believe this is true?  If you're looking at the bluetooth settings page, simply opening that page in settings initiates the search. It stops when you close it.

    so after double shaking, is the ring flashing red +white? If it is not, then it is not in pairing mode. (I'm assuming you have the ERA) And you see nothing on the iphone? Nothing is found? Or is the device found, but not paired.
    try placing the jawbone in pairing mode first, and then turn off/on the iphone blue tooth.
    I don't think you need to unpair with the BB. But you can try. go to BB settings and there should be a way to  forget the device.

    I have a BT connected problem with my Iphone 4S. In contrast to many here, I can connect with my headset (Jawbone) fine and my phone sees pretty much anything. However, once I activate BT, it will keep searching for new devices all the time and this eats the batter up pretty fast (by mid-day it is 50% gone, without my doing much, except for a few calls using my headset). Does anybody know how can BT stopped from looking for new devices unless directed to do so?

    Select Menu > Connect > Bluetooth.
    1. When you activate Bluetooth for the first time, you are asked to give a name to your device. Give your device a unique name to make it easy to recognize if there are several Bluetooth devices in the vicinity.
    2. Select Bluetooth > On.
    3. Select My phone's visibility > Shown to all.

    you could look up if the Configfree software is already installed on your unit. You can then create a new shortcut on the desktop by right clicking the "cfmain.exe" program. It should works now!!
    or
    you deinstall the software and re-install it from your Toshiba Tools and Utilities CD. If you do not have the CD, you can download the newest Version from Toshiba Amerika
    at http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp
    (I think the Satellite M35 is an US product)then do a reinstall of the software.

  • Possible to use wired 10/100 ethernet for client device?

    I can't seem to find an answer to this question...
    I have a Airport Express that I connect to my stereo for streamed music in my living room. It's connected to my existing wireless network (Linksys WRT54G, WPA on). Works great. Airport Express is not configured as a network extender, just connected to the existing network.
    With this configuration (or any other configuration) is it possible to connect a client device (in this case my Tivo) to the wired ethernet port on the Airport Express and have it function? I currently have a wire pulled down my hallway to connect my Tivo, I'd love to get rid of that wire. And since my Airport Express sits right behind my entertainment center, it would be great if I could use it in this fashion.
    Anyone know if this is possible? I guess the short version is, can I connect anything to the AE's 10/100 ethernet port and have it be a member of my network?

    Well, I gave it a try. It's not quite working though. I get through the entire WDS setup with no problems. Configuration went fine. Yes, it has to be WEP, not WAP for setup with WDS.
    It doesn't work though. The light on the Airport Express stays solid green, showing a valid connection. But I can't see my AE anymore, in iTunes or from the Airport Admin Utility.
    In the Airport Admin utility, I did set the ethernet port to be active. When I connect the AE to the router via the 10/100 port, everything works fine. But it simply won't show up with just the wireless. Maybe you can either connect the AE to your network via Wireless WDS OR the ethernet port can be active, but not both?

  • HT204368 4S searching for Bluetooth devices but not finding them?

    Hi I have just bought a second hand Iphone 4S from a company online and I am trying to get Bluetooth headset paired.
    I have turned the Bluetooth off and on, and the headset - I have put the bluetooth function on my other work phone a Blackberry and the iPhone is not finding them - it just keeps searching?
    Tried to pair from the Blackberry and it would not work either
    Can anyone suggest anything?

    Stop trying. The iPhone Bluetooth does not include the necessary protocols to pair with another phone.  The headset on the other hand should be OK.

  • Searching for devices in CM produces varied results

    Hello,
    Got a strange issue that i need some direction in resolving.
    When we perform a search for a device in CM using the computer name the device doesn't show up, if i then get the Unique ID using CM support centre and search with that it appears but with a completely different device name. Looking at the properties it
    shows a few correct properties (MAC, IP, User ect.) but all other properties are from other devices so far 3 different computers. 
    Now it gets even stranger, if i then perform the original search for the computer name it appears, the properties are still incorrect but it actually shows up.
    Let me know if anything is unclear, any help would be great.

    Sorry for the delay in responding.
    I have not checked the database directly ill do that today. A few other things I have found there are a few workstations with duplicate uniquie ID's listed in the SMSCFG.ini file under c:\windows, these machines are the machines that show incorrect information
    in the CM console.
    I downloaded another copy of windows and used the .wim to build / rebuild a few test machines and found that these display correctly. I'm not sure if the image we have been using was causing the problem but so far this seems to have sorted it. If anyone
    can shed some light on this it would be great
