  • Migrating meeting resources from 2007 to 2013

We migrated our resource mailboxes thru the move mailboxes in 2013 EAC but now we're at the point of decommissioning our 2007 servers.  Before the actual decommission we stopped all 2007 services and dismounted all 2007 databases.  Once we did
this the resources would no longer work - errors pertaining to cannot directly book the resource.
I had to bring up the public folder database for the moved resources to work again.  We do not use public folders any longer so we did not do any type of public folder migration.  Do I need to do this for the resources to work?

You can take a look at below given links to understand about Step-by-Step Migration Exchange 2007 to 2013.

    hope it helps.

  • Senior needs help preparing to give old 2007 MacBook to a friend

I have kept my old MacBook (Apr. 2007) as an emergency backup.  It is running 10.7.5, the latest available for this model.  I have a bff whom I am trying to help out (we are both seniors).  I am giving her my iPhone 5 when the 6 comes out and I want to give her this old MacBook so she has a convenient way to backup her iPhone.  I hope it will also help her overall with technology because she does not have a laptop, just a dated desktop PC.
I am not worried that she will use any of my personal info nefariously but I guess it would be easiest for her if I wipe the MacBook and give her just the basic OS.  I still have the original CDs that came with the MacBook but I can't find anything that says what version of OS X came with the MacBook.  I think I will need to repurchase for the MacBook any updates that I made to the OS because the ones I bought are tied to my Apple ID, is that right?  Does anyone know how much that will cost or how I can figure that out?  And I assume I would need to do the wipe and reinstall with her so she can create her own Apple ID and I could just pay for the updates?  If there is anyone willing to help me figure this out, I would be most grateful.  I want to be ready to roll when the iPhone 6 launches.

    Jean -
    I think you've got it
Deauthorize iTunes before you do anything else. It is a maximum of 5 computers that can share iTunes authorizations. Technically, it is also 5 devices that can share content, but iPads, iPhones & iPods don't handle authorization the same way. You'll have to do a mass deauthorization if you have more than 5 computers trying to play iTunes music but you're OK if it's just iDevices + 1 computer.
Then, yes, you use those original CDs to install 10.4 and the basic apps (that's things like iPhoto). No need to do updates after that install is complete. You'll be asked to create an account - either create one for her, or you can create one for you to use & create a second administrator account later on & delete the one you created. You don't want to mess around with changing names as it can get complicated!
With the Snow Leopard disc, all you need to do is insert it while you have the computer running & then double-click on the "Install Mac OS X" icon that should pop up automatically. From there, it'll upgrade to 10.6.
At that point, you run Software Update until all updates have been downloaded. The base install of 10.6 doesn't include the Mac App Store, which is necessary for you to download Lion.  Running Software Update will get that installed for you.
Once that's all done, you'll be able to use the code she'll be emailed for Lion in the Mac App Store to get a copy downloaded. Then it's one more installation to do and she's all set!
Hopefully that all makes sense...if you find yourself getting stuck anywhere along the way, let me know.

  • Notification of meeting on subject line

An intermittent problem exists when a particular user gets notified of an upcoming meeting. This is what she recently had displayed in the subject line:
    =?ISO-8859-1?B?Q2FsZW5kYXIgcmVtaW5kZXI6IFJldmlldyBjZXJ0aWZpY2F
    0ZXMgb2YgaW5zdXJhbmNlL3dhaXZlcnM=?
    This was notification for:
Calendar reminder: Review certificates of insurance/waivers
This user is using the latest PCPine client. I only have 2 people that get these gobbled messages and both are using PCPine. Most users are using Outlook or Outlook Express, Mulberry, etc. I'm thinking it is the client BUT this only happens when notification for a meeting is received from Oracle Calendar.

Seems like a character set problem in this client. Maybe there were some national cpecial chars in the subject that could not be displayed.

I don't know what the reason could be. The application is running on tomcat. And I can deploy other applications to j2ee with nwds/sdm.

I have an .ear file which has been generated from weblogic server.I tried to deploy it on ocj4 aby created a new project in eclipse and deploying it on ocj4.
When I try to run my project it gives me an error:
    2008-12-15 19:13:54.811 NOTIFICATION J2EE JSP-0008 Unable to dispatch JSP Page : Exception:oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedLinkageError: duplicate class definition: javax/xml/rpc/Service

The original class instance was defined in the shared-library oracle.ws.jaxrpc:1.1, and oc4j:10.1.3 does import that loader. This may be a search-order problem.

..well, I "solved" the issue myself: although not explicit recommended, I switched the corresponding status from "ERROR" to "OK" in the keydb.xml file.
<p>This completed the installation and I am looking forward to consequential damages..  <img src="http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a025.gif">

  • Effect of time zone change on scheduled appointment times

I have had a Palm Treo 650 for three years. It had its shortcomings, but the calendar was well-designed. I could be in the Pacific time zone and arrange an appointment in New York for 1:00PM on a certain day. When I arrived in New York, the Treo's time had automatically changed to Eastern time and the appointment time was still 1:00PM on the calendar.
I just bought a BlackBerry 8330 because Verizon's network coverage is far superior to ATT's at places where I spend most of my time. The BB has excellent web access and email, but the calendar has a problem. If I were in the Pacific time zone and set an appointment for New York at 1:00PM and then traveled to New York, the BB's time would change to Eastern, but the appointment time would also be changed to 4:00PM. This can be a trap that can cause me to occasionally miss an important meeting. I can't afford this risk. I'm likely to return the BB and look for another PDA.
*My Question: Is the iPhone's calendar like the Treo's or the BlackBerry's?*

Thank you for the quick replies. It is not totally clear to me, but it sounds as though the iPhone may be the same as the BlackBerry. If so, then I have to set a time AND make sure that, at the time the appointment is entered, the time zone is properly set for the location of the meeting. The Treo's meeting time was independent of the time zone that was in effect when the appointment time was entered. There was no special setting for it, but there is a setting to either keep the desired time zone in effect regardless of where the phone was located or to let the network adjust the time zone whenever a trip was made. It automatically took the network time from wherever it was so the clock was always right and the alarm for an upcoming meeting would go off at the proper time even if the appointment was entered while set for another time zone. The statement "Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars" doesn't really say how it affects previously set appointments. It will only become clear when someone who travels a lot says how it works in practice.
