X-Fi Individual Channel Equalizat

I was wondering if there was anyway that I could modify the equalization settings for ONE channel only. I am suffering from chronic hearing loss of the mid frequencies in my left ear and would like to adjust the left channel mid frequencies to make everything sound normal and centred when gaming. Is this possible now; or in the future, or am I going to have to find some other way to fix things?

Re: X-Fi sound channel failure.e How? Are there instruction on how to do that?
What I've done so far is use the Creative Diagnostic to test everything to make sure it is working properly. It says it is. I checked the Device Manager, and everything seems to check out there also.
I think something might be missing. When I tried to download the lastest version of Creative Diagnostics, everything seems to be just fine, until the very end. That's when this message comes up? "Setup did not detect the required components. Setup will exit." Then when I checked to see if anything was interfering with the Creative software, a yellow question mark does show up, but not by or in the Creative part. It is 2 spots above, and says "Other Devices--Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"
What could be missing though? I still have the Creative CD to download everything. I've tried that, but still, that yellow ? comes up and says? "Setup did not detect the required components. Setup will exit."? Shouldn't everything be in that CD!? It always worked before.

  • Configuring individual channels on the PXI-4472B

Hi, I am using the PXI-4472B card to acquire vibration data using transducers with different frequency ranges. The problem I am having is that some of the transducers require being powered from the board (via IEPE) and some don't and I cannot find a way to turn the excitation on and off for individual channels, only all of them.
I am using LabVIEW 8.6 and have configured all the channels using the property nodes to enable the excitation and specify the current, but not all the channels require this.
It clearly states in the data sheet for the 4472 card that the channels are individually configurable for the IEPE, can someone please tell me how to do this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello Darren,
Thank you so much for your post on our webforum. I don't have this device on hand (at this moment), but did a test with a simulated device, and this worked well. I created two channels within one task; so use two create channel.vi after each other with their own channel properties. The task out and in are connected to each other, so they have the same task reference.
PLease find a picture of the test I did, based on example \Programs\examples\DAQmx\Analog In\Measure Sound Pressure.llb\Cont Acq Snd Pressure Samples-Int Clk.vi

  • How to control individual channel of signal generated from digital waveform generator?

Digital waveform generator has 8 channels. I need to generate two different signals to HSDIO. How to modify and control two different channels? Also, how to translate pin outs from PXI-6541 to channels? I need to control signal into pin 1,3,29,and 31 individually.
    Thank you!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You must combine your individual data into an array.  The digital waveform is simply a digital representation of the binary array.  It still boils down to bit 0 of each array element going to channel 0 (or the first channel you specify in Create Dynamic Channels).  The next bit goes to the next channel.  My last post is quite clear.  To display the array in binary, right click on an array element, then select Display Format, then select Binary.  You can also right click on the element, select Visible, then select Show Radix to display the small b before the number.  One more thing, in the Display Format window, uncheck the box next to Use minimum field width.  Then set the numeric just under the box to 8.  Then select Pad with zeros on left in the box below.
You should not use waveforms until you learn more about how the HSDIO operates on input data.  It isn't hard to combine waveforms, but it also isn't as clear as using an array of U8 or U16 or U32.
Trying to explain further.  The first number to be writen to the HSDIO will have this effect:  Bit 0 (LSB) of the number gets written to the first HSDIO channel you specify.  Bit 7 goes to the 8th channel you specify.  If you don't specify 8 channels, the bits get ignored.  So wiring in one number will produce only one bit on each channel.  In other words, the number already combines the bits of all the channels you specify.  You don't combine anything yourself.  Look again at my picture on my last post.  By wiring in an array, you cause a bit pattern to be generated.
I hope this is more clear.

  • Write seperate elements to each individual channel tdms

    Hi
I have MC which is pumping data from five sensors , each sensor outputs a high bit and low bit. I have created a VI that reads in the data and converts the string to an unsigned byte array. My problem is that I am having trouble adding each individual element of the array in to its own channel in a TDMS file . Currently all data is being written to the same channel.

    Hi,
    Attached the modified vi snippet.
I normally write data to tdms files using for loops
Let us know if it helps.

  • How do I extract Data from a 1D Waveform into individual channels to be used for calculations on a live data page

    Hello All,
I am a fairly new user to Labview and am currently creating a program that: monitors sensor inputs from various CompactDAQ modules (9213, 9217), does error checking, then uses the data in some final calculations, such as averaging etc.  I have put together a small piece of code that includes the main functions that I am trying to accomplish.  Right now I am fairly comfortable with getting the channels set up and assigned, then passing this data into a while loop that continually pulls data from these sensors.
I have the calculations vi complete and the channel inputs UI complete, now I am working on the reading and data manipulation side of things.  The 1D Waveform that is coming out of read function is being broken up into the components that I am interested in (String Name and Y data).  It then pass this information out of the loop through a queue which passes it along to the parallel loop below which will perform the error checking and the averaging calculations.  There are some things that complicate this. I have shown 2 sensors in my example, but in the actual program, there can be up to 400 inputs.  The issue is that not all these sensors will be used on every test that the software is used for.  To use the inputs in the test VI as an example:  If I am trying to average these 2 inputs to create a common value, but then on one test, sensor 2 is not there, it needs to recognize this and not use this in the averaging function.
So to get right down to it, I want to create something that can look through the clusters of data from the 1D Waveform, determine what these values are, then do the necessary functions to those numbers once they are identified, then pass them onto the Calculations VI where it then displays the usable information for the user.  I think I am having an issue with determing how to sort as everything I have thought of makes me think there has to be an easier way.
Has anyone encountered this?  Does my explaination of what I am trying to do make sense?  Let me know and I can clarify.

As far as functionality goes, I don't see anything wrong. when it comes to efficiency you need to keep some general pointers in mind. These issues which I'm bringing up will not affect your code currently since your array sizes are small but can start creating memory fragmentaion and slow down the software if your array sizes are much larger and the software runs for a long period of time.
    1. Try not to use Build Array. Each time you use a built array labview creates a copy in the memory. Try to initilized your arrays and replace the subsets.
    2. as much as you can try not index arrays or unbundle cluster multiple times. try to perform as many tasks as possbile in one shot. (this was evident in your second loop)
    Besides that it's looking good.
I made a few modifications to your code and attached it. I wanted to give you a different take on it as it relates to being able to control the inputs and outputs programitically, if you had a look up table. I didn't make the same modifications to your second loop but I can guide you through what needs to be done if you would like to move in this direction. Again your original code is well done for someone who is new to labview so don't feel like you need to follow the new VI design. Just try to remove the build array and multiple indexing as a good programming habbit.

  • Is it possible to add individual channels to BT Vi...

I know Sky are blocking Sky sports channels but is itpossible to add Sky One? if so, how much per month? I would love to be able to watch the more recent episodes of the Simpsons.
One more thing, the YouView box is self install, right? I can't imagine why it would require an engineer coming around as it should be nothing more than plugging in an ethernet cable. You don't need a card any longer to watch BT Sports, do you? The channels are routed through the broadband connection, presumably.

The channels are routed through Infinity. There aren't many exchanges which are multicast enabled for ADSL.

  • Individual Channel Playback Issue

When in edit mode, with a stereo track visible, if I set the cursor to playback either the left or right channels exclusively, is it normal for AA to output this channel on both the speakers I'm monitoring on ( dual mono?)?
I have RealTek97 sending the audio to an external amp. I have checked my setup by playing back tracks in Première CS3 and can get true left or right only playback from the timeline using the same test file I'm using in Audition. So, how do I get this to work in AA 3?

    >is it normal for AA to output this channel on both the speakers I'm monitoring on ( dual mono?)?
No it isn't - but I think I know what you probably have to do to recify this. Go to Edit>Audio Hardware Setup>Edit View and look at the 'Default Output' box. If the line at the top that's active starts with [01M], you need to select from the list of available ones one that starts with [01S]. Otherwise all Audition EV playback will be in mono, and you'll get that effect when you select L or R.

  • LR4.1 - Tone Curve - how to adjust individual RGB channels?

    Hi,
I am having trouble figuring out how to adjust the curve of individual RGB channels.  I am assuming the LR4 Tone Curve works like the PS Curves dialog with the channel dropdown.
    The LR4.1 Help says:
To make adjustments to individual points on the tone curve, choose an option from the Point Curve menu, click the Edit Point Curve button , and do any of the following:
Choose an option from the Channel pop-up menu. You can edit all three channels at once, or choose to edit the Red, Green, or Blue channel individually.
When I click the little icon in the lower right corner of the Tone Curve panel, the panel shrinks so that I don't see the Regions sliders.  If I click again, they are visible again.  I can't find where to select one of the three indvidual channels.
The Help refers to "the Point Curve menu."  Where is the Point Curve menu?  Is the Point Curve different from the Tone Curve?
If I right-click (Windows) in the curve dialog, the context menu has a Show Info option.  I click it on/off and don't see any change or any info.  Where should I be looking for info?
    Thanks for any help here.
    John

    Good morning John,
The point curve is the one without the sliders. The adjustments for the individual channels are only available with
PV2012. You must be editing a file with PV2010 or 2003. When in PV2012 you will see " Channels:   RGB" below the curve window. Click on the doule triangles following the RGB
    to pick the individual channel.

  • How do I use a CNiDAQmxTask with multiple channels?

My last project from three years ago utilized Visual Studio 6.0.  I am now using VS 2005.and created a "NI MFC DAQmx  DLL".
I used the wizard to create a CNiDAQmxTask class called CDAQmx1124VOutTask  for the 1124 card.  The class now contains six different voltage channels in the Configure function.  How do I write to a single channel?
Boy, C++ examples for solutions using the DAQmx Assistent are non-existent.  All I find are C# examples, or native DAQmx funtions.
The best I have been able to come up with is this that will compile.
    CDAQmx1124VOutTask   m_1124VOut;
    m_1124VOut.Start();
    CNiDAQmxAnalogSingleChannelWriter* writer = new CNiDAQmxAnalogSingleChannelWriter(m_1124VOut.Stream);
    writer->WriteSingleSample(TRUE, 12.);
    delete writer;
Which output on the card will end up writing the 12 volts?  Do I need to have the DAQmx Assistant create a new  CNiDAQmxTask
for each output on the card?  Any help or example links would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Eric

    Hello Eric,
The question of which output on the 1124 card will write the 12 volts depends on how you configured the DAQmx Task.  If you specified all six channels, then you would need to create an array of data that is 6 elements in length.  The first element in that array would be written to AO channel 0. The second element in the data array would be written to AO channel 1, and so on. So this answers the question about needing to create separate tasks for each individual channel.  It would suffice to specify all of the physical channels in one task, and then specify the voltage updates to each channel based on the entries in the array. You can find examples by going to the following (or a similar) location in the directory structure of your computer (Windows OS assumed).

  • How do I get channel names written into a logged ascii file in Signal Express

    Hi there,
This maybe a rookie question but I am a relative rookie to this software, and I hope it has an easy fix!
    Background:
Take a load of analogue inputs from a DAQ device into Signal Express, first thing that hits me is that unlike labVIEW you cannot right click in the channel configuration window and change the name from say... Dev2_ai0 to Air Pressure? I feel that if this was possible then I would overcome my problem? anyway I can't so onwards...
I goto the DAQmx Acquire window on the top left and can right click and rename the channel, which is great... however this does not translate to the logged data as I get the ai0 channel names across the top of the columns and not the names that I have put in.
Is there anyway of getting data like the attached snippet?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

    Channel names.gif ‏4 KB

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for the reply, that has certainly fixed my issue as I wasn't expanding the channel and selecting the channel that I had renamed.
    One last thing though:
I now not only get the individual channel name but the prefix for the DAQmx Aquire, for instance I get the Input of Braketest and then the channels under the input data.
It looks a bit like this....
    Braketest - Front Pres
    Braketest - Rear Pres
    Braketest - FR Temp
    Braketest - FL Temp
    etc etc...
Now all of the channel names at the top of the columns have this long name. Can this be rectified? can I remove the "Braketest" bit?
By the way I am saving it as an ASCII so that I can read it in excel.
    Many thanks, Neil.

  • How to use multiple channels to sample one signal

I would like to use all channels on an AI-110 to sample the same signal in order to increase my sampling rate.  (I have spare channels, not spare $$.)  In hardware the channels are read sequentially so in theory I should be able to do this, but I'm having trouble reconstituting the signal.  If I use FP Reads the timestamps seem to indicate the time of the read, not the time of the A/D conversion, so I can't tell which sample was taken last.  FP-Advise on change seems ill-suited as well since consecutive samples may be the same on a certain channel, but the signal may have varied in the mean time on the other channels.
Any ideas how this might be done otherwise?  The VI will run embedded on a cFP-2020 controller with LabViewRT v. 6.1.1.
    Thanks,
    Anton

    Anton,
I understand what you are trying to do and do not think it can be done with a single module.  The timestamp on the FP-Read is all about when the vi returned the data and not when the A/D conversion occured.  I just don't think that the A/D converter can keep track of the conversion time.
If you had multiple AI-110 modules, you could in theory connect your signal to individual channels on multiple modules and then sequence through the modules.  The problem here would be the ground loops.

  • Change a DAQmx channel property for a single channel from a channel group

    Hi,
I'm doing some digital output, and I'd like to tristate certain lines in each port. However, I'm having difficulty figuring out how to specify which individual lines to tristate. I input a port and a line range, e.g. PXI-6533/port0/line0:7, specify to use one channel for each line in the DAQmx Create Virtual Channel VI, retrieve the channels from the DAQmx Task Property, and try to operate on the individual channels that way.  However, this results in the following error:
Error -200428 occurred at Property Node DAQmx Channel (arg 1) in tristate_test.vi
    Possible reason(s):
Measurements: Value passed to the Task/Channels In control is invalid.
The value must refer to a valid task or valid virtual channels.
    Task Name: PXI-6533/port0/line0
The NI knowledge base article that deals with this error code talks about creating a task with the DAQ assistant, or ensuring that a task has been created. However, I'm not using the DAQ assistant, as my I/O is pretty complicated; I'm just using a bunch of virtual channels.
Is there a way to specify individual channels to changethe properties of without having to create additional virtual channels? I have 48 digital channels I plan to use, so the less virtual channels I have to create the better.
Please reference the attached VI, which demonstrates the problem I am facing.
    Thanks for any assistance.
