X11 Edit/COPY/Paste Option

Using X11 window the Edit copy option apparently functions however the paste option appears to be permanently greyed out-so that it is impossible to paste any lines that have been copied.
This does not appear to be case with Terminal which allows the user to copy and paste.
Are there any suggestions as to how to active the edit/paste option in X11

Copy and Paste in X11 works very differently than in Mac OS. To run X11 on a Mac, Apple had to integrate the two different paradigms.
In X11 there is no copy -- any text selection is immediately on the clipboard (but you can only have one selection at a time, across all X11 windows). Paste is done using the middle mouse button. In Apple's X11, a preference setting allows a keyboard shortcut to emulate the middle button. Thus, to copy and paste, make a selection, then paste with the middle button. There is no copy step. This works within X11, but not between X11 and non-X11 apps.
Outside of X11, copy using the usual Mac procedure. If there is no selection in X11, the Mac clipboard will be available as the X11 clipboard, but you paste into X11 using the X11 method. As soon as you make a selection in X11, it overrides the Mac clipboard (but only within X11). To copy from X11 to non-X11, use Edit>Copy to copy the current X11-selection into the Mac clipboard, then Mac Paste is available outside of X11.
I am sure you are thoroughly confused now. I don't know how it could be integrated any better without breaking either the Mac interface or the X11 interface or both. You'll have to play with it until you get the hang of it.

I can't copy and paste text into photoshop because the copy paste option is acting up

Let me explain. I found some text on a website I wanted to us for my project so I copied it into a text box that I made in photoshop. I edited the text to my liking and then hilighted the entire text. When I go to copy the text by right clicking and then clicking on copy it just pastes the original text from the website I got it from instead of copying the edited text. I even tried ctrl+ C and it still pasted the original text not copy the one I edited. Last resort- I re-edited my text and go to edit and click copy. Still no fix it just pastes the original text. For some reason photoshop is thinking that the copy option is a paste option. I have no idea why this is or how to fix this. This was not happening about an hour ago so I have no idea why this is happening. I even tried restarting my laptop and I even tried a test in a completely new photoshop document and it still does this. How do I fix this? I have photoshop CS4 currently installed. Help is appreciated.

I have noticed that there is no option to do copy-paste from many of places in this phone. e.g. from chrome, address bar , can not copy the url .. Where in Samsung, can copy paste from most of the places.

   1. incorrect clock time.
   2. incorrect date.
   3. incorrect time zone.
When you download an PDF or epub, the Adobe activation records timestamp information from the Adobe activation server. This information is stored inside the book. When you attempt to open the book, this information is compared to your current system information. If your system has an incorrect time/date/time zone, then the activation server disallows the request and you cannot read the book.
Solution ) Carefully check the machine's system time, date, and time zone they should be correct according to your location.

Unable to edit/copy/paste anything into the Comments section...

With 4 ipods and a wide variety of musical taste, I have a very extensive library of songs that are assigned to one or more playlists by the name in the comments section. This has been very useful ... up until now. I no longer can edit the comments section of the songs on my main library. any idea why not and how can I fix this? Having worked like a charm in the past, not sure if this was because of a computer move to Windows 7 or the lastest iTunes update. any assistance would be appreciated!

I seem to have fixed the problem for me though by doing the following:
- open 'properties' on the highest level folder you want to change attributes
- click 'security' tab
- click 'advanced'
- click 'change permissions'
- click 'add'
- enter 'Everyone' in the 'enter the object name to select' dialog box
- click 'check names'
- click OK
- click 'full control' in the 'allow' column
- click OK
- click the box (turn on) 'replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object'
- click OK
- confirm any 'are you sure' type messages that pop up along the way
and you should be set! Whew!

E71x copy/paste

Has anyone figured out a way to copy and paste text on an E71x? For example, is there a way to copy text from an email and paste it into a form on a web page?

The Ctrl and Chr are on the same key. You have to press Shift (up arrow on the bottom left) + Ctrl / Chr key (on the bottm right) + "C" to Copy. Same for Pastem but with "P". So, you need to press 3 keys in the same time.
The copy and paste function is available everywhere you can select text (it does not work in Web Browser) and you can paste text anywhere you edit.
You are right that E71x does not have a Ctrl / Chr key (only Chr key) but maybe it will work. If not, you should find Copy / Paste option in the menu, AFTER you select the text.

I can't copy & paste anymore. Can't delete text in clipboard.

Hi, does anyone know why I can no longer paste anything anywhere. I can highlight things and they appear to copy but when I get the drop down menu in edit the paste option does not turn bold only the "select all" option goes bold. Can't do it with keyboard shortcuts either. I seem to have a bit of old text stored in a clipboard, could this be the root of the problem ?

Hi Susannah, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you tried creating a new account and see how yourcopy/paste works in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.)
Open System Preferences > Accounts > "+" make it an admin account.
If this works, then log back into your problem account and navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and trash these two files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then log out and back in again. Or restart.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

Copy/paste full row, full column, a cell on datagrid using MVVM?

What is the best way to implement on datagrid? As I am new on this, I had some researches but I am confused because there are some complicated implementations and easy ones? I try to understand the best way.
Adding simply selection mode and selection Unit doesnt help. Because it only copies the row but I cant paste it simply as a new row.

Copy / Paste Audio track not functional?

I have Quicktime 7 with the MPEG option. I can open mpeg-2 video files and edit them. I can open mpeg audio files but I can not edit them.
How do I take an Mpeg audio track and add it to an Mpeg video track?
I tried to folow the instructions here:

However, at step 2 where it states "Edit * Copy", the option is not available. I can madly click all I want on the greyed option but it doesn't copy the audio track.

Adrian. I apologize for the bum advice. I bounce back between the Mac and Windows pages and sometimes fail to notice where I am.
The MPEG editing features are the same for both the Mac and PC versions. QuickTime can't edit muxed track files. It never could.
There are some known issues (Mac side anyway) about AC3 audio. The third party codec isn't properly supported by QuickTime 7.0.2.
There is probably a PC software that works similar to MPEG Streamclip.
