X4600m2 bios/ilom firmware upgrade problem

In the X4600m2 downloads, under Software 2.3, in the firmware category, I downloaded ILOM-3_0_3_31_r42822-Sun_Fire_X4600M2.ima (md5 checks out). I can't install the new firmware however (using the ILOM cli):
-> load -source tftp://172.22.95.215/ILOM-3_0_3_31_r42822-Sun_Fire_X4600M2.ima
NOTE: A firmware upgrade will cause the server and ILOM to
be reset. It is recommended that a clean shutdown of
the server be done prior to the upgrade procedure.
An upgrade takes about 6 minutes to complete. ILOM
will enter a special mode to load new firmware. No
other tasks can be performed in ILOM until the
firmware upgrade is complete and ILOM is reset.
Are you sure you want to load the specified file (y/n)? y
Do you want to preserve the configuration (y/n)? n
Image is not for this platform.
Firmware image update failed.
->With all previous releases this worked fine.
Update: the upgrade on the ILOM web interface also fails.
I'm running this version currently:
-> version
SP firmware 2.0.2.10
SP firmware build number: 38791
SP firmware date: Tue Nov 4 18:36:42 PST 2008
SP filesystem version: 0.1.14
Any idea why this is failing? I've tried both preserving and not preserving the configuration.

Are you saying that it worked before because of an error? I've worked with boards before tha supported 2 monitors, 1 on the mainboard and 1 on a graphics card.

  • **SPA2102 FIRMWARE UPGRADE PROBLEM WITH 5.2.12

I'm having problems loading firmware 5.2.12 onto my SP2102-R ATA.  I have my laptop PC running Windows 7 directly with an ethernet cable from my laptop to the ethernet connection on the back of the SPA2102.  I run the .bin file and In order to get the software to the upgrade stage I have to enter ****, 73738 1# to move to the next stage.  I have now been waiting for 1/2 hour waiting for firmware download request from SPA.  IT DOESN'T GET PASS THIS STAGE.......CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL WHAT I'M DOING WRONG OR WHAT I NEED TO DO DIFFERENT?
    Thanks......

Based on my experience with the SPA2102-NA, it is not necessary to do a factory reset (*73738) in order to perform a firmware upgrade/downgrade.
However, now that you have done so, any and all previous user settings will have been reset to the original factory settings (including user set passwords - assuming your ATA is an un-locked SPA2102-NA).
If you think the firmware 5.2.12 is faulty, then repeat the upgrade/downgrade process by downgrading back to an earlier version:

  • E90 firmware upgrade problems

Recently, I upgraded my E90's firmware from the version 7.xx to 300.34.84. I backed up all the data on the phone prior to the firmware upgrade - as required for the retention of software certificates and data.
Some of the trouble I'm having now is with the Download! folder, specifically the Applications subfolder - it does not update it's content - actually, it's totally unaccessible. Also, the Windows Live Application no longer works - and I'm unable to download a fresh copy as a result of the problems with the Download! folder. Prior to the firmware upgrade, I had using the Windows Live Messenger application and the Windows Live email/messaging synchronising facility in the Messaging folder hitch-free for about three months.
    Any ideas?  Thanks
By the way, I don't think the upgrade in this case has much merit. Other than the A-GPS, there's no real substance in 300.34.84.
Symbian connected me to the world, to my dreams.. Thank-you Nokia

I just saw a post for the exact same problem on an E71. Search 'E71 Download! folder: Service Not Available' by hazz on this site. See my problem is I'm not too interested in the third-party software available from ea.mobile.nokia.com/ea/apps/. I'm interested in the ones that become available in the Download! folder, under Applications. When I click on Applications, the chevron appears, followed by the progress bar, which fills almost completely, then shows the this message: 'Catalog update failed!' I believe my internet connection is working fine - I watch youtube on the device often.
This week, a new link appeared - U2 - Get On Your Boots - which great, 'cause U2 rocks. But, Applications remains dead - even if I remove it from the list and click - Options/Select/Refresh List.
I got around the Windows Live problem by using the awesome Nokia Messaging (email) [http://email.nokia.com], and the instant messaging application mxit. Besides those minor issues, I think the E90 is a pretty awesome device.
    Thanks

  • Nokia n80 firmware upgrade problems

Hi all i just tried to do a firmware upgrade using the nokia sites stuff and my pc crashed and now my fone wont turn on could some1 please tell me
    1 if this is terminal
2 if i can sort this out myself
3 point me in the right direction for the info i need to sort out my 3 week fone
4 how much i should expect to pay if i HAVE to go to a shop to get it sorted
thanks in advance for any help given

Right first thing I would try is to connect your mobile to your pc and try running NSU again. If it connects to your N80 great you should be able to just start over.
(Tips: Run only the NSU on PC close all other programmes down. and ensure your N80 is charged fully or at least plug your charger into the N80 whilst doing the update.)
If your N80 Isn't recognised by the NSU then its dead and the only way go revive the poor little things is to:
1: Take is to a Nokia Service Centre. Carphone warehouse is usually your closest NSC, If your lucky they will have an 'on site' techinician and he will fix your N80 within an hour or same day, if not then you will have to leave it with them for a week or so.
2: Call your Service provider, tell them your N80 just went bye bye and they should swap it for you or at least give you a refurbished N80.
You won't be charged by the Nokia Service Centre for any work done as your within your warrenty and if you choose to go back to your service provider you should also be covered. This has happened to me and I sent my N80 back to O2 they had a refurbished model sent back to me within a couple of days with no charges.

It should not be anything to do with branding if the update starts downloading, if the branding was an issue you wouldn't even get acces to the update.
There are conflicting stories about Nokia service points and debranding. It can only be done if the phone has had any SIM lock officially removed by the network, and the service point may in some cases ask for a letter from the operator stating their approval for the action to be taken. Service points are not required to offer this service and so may not do, and if they do it will be at your cost.

  • After firmware upgrade problem CP1025NW

I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my CP1025NW printer.  I downloaded and ran the firmware updater and it runs for a bit and then reports that it "Could not find appropriate firmware file". I have tried running the updater both through a USB connection to the printer and a wireless connection. Both result in the same error.

Exist some kind of special software for an force firmware update ? or how can I restore it ?

  • Airport Extreme 7.1 Firmware Upgrade - problems with Airdisk

I recently upgraded the Airport Extreme firmware from 7.0 to 7.1 but have experienced several problems.
After the initial upgrade, I encountered a double NAT warning, which was fixed by switching into Bridge mode, followed by an invalid IP address warning. I rebooted the AE and the warning disappeared.
Connecting to the wireless network is ok, except that it can never remember my connection (which is a closed WPA2 Personal network) and I have to manually re-connect every time I switch on the nac - with my previous Airport Express this would remember the network and re-connected automatically.
Worst of all however is that I can no longer see my AirDisk - a LaCie 500 GB USB HD connected to the AE.
The disk name is simply upper case ASCII and so I cannot understand why this is occurring. It worked perfectly using version 7.0. Has anyone else had these problems or aware of a workaround?
MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The 7.1 update has caused problems for many many people.
What I did to solve problems was to revert back to 7.0. here's a link to a post I made over at jmacrumors.com explaining how to do it:

  • Creative Zen Xtra Firmware Upgrade Problems v1

While trying to upgrade the firmware on my Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra, there was a problem with the upgrade. I'm now stuck in rescue mode v.3. When I plug the MP3 player into the computer, Windows will recognize it and asks me what to do. I exit that window and try to run the firmware update again. The firmware program tells me "Your player is not connected, please connect your player."? there are 2 options "Upgrade" and "close". Upgrade is greyed out, but close is clickable. I've tried
    1. clean up,
    2. format all,
    3. reload OS and
    4. Reboot.
None of those options seems to do me any good. I've uninstalled all the Creative software from my computer, but still no luck. Please help me. I'm doing my best to avoid having to go buy an iPod, but if I can't get my Creative Mp3 player to work, I guess I will have to. I have spent a lot of money between cables, the docking station and the leather case. I'd hate for all this to be wasted, so please help me.
I've tried to "reload the OS" and then clicked on the language the moment the Player told me to start the update. Someone please shed some light on this for me. I've tried email Customer Support. I've searched Google. I've put my best skills on it and of course I've scoured this website to no prevail. Someone help me out.

READ ALL BEFORE PROCEEDING You do need to install the driver. http://support.creative.com/Products...e=MP3+Players# When you get to the page for your player bottom left the manual selection choose Xp & clik submit the driver should be the first one version 2.0.00 .After the driver is installed when you plug in the player check in device manager to see that it shows up there Start>Control Panel> System>Hardware>Device Manager look under Portable Devices or for the name of the player. Use a rear USB Port to assure a good connection. Then run the firmware file on the computer ,choose reload firmware or Os on the player, choose language when player asks for update(the pop-up from windows indicating that it "sees" the device DO NOT CLOSE IT.)

  • WRT54G v8.2 failed firmware upgrade problem

Today I tried to upgrade my WRT54G v8.2 router to the latest firmware from Linksys. But the upgrade kept repeating itself every time when the progress bar reached about 75%. This lasted more than 30 minutes and I had to stopped the upgrade. Then the router stopped working. I've reset and hard reset the router. I also tried the tftp method to upgrade the firmware again. But the problem is still there. When I ping 192.168.1.1, I constantly get the "Destination host unreachable" message. Anyone could help me fix this problem? The power light and the ethernet port light are always on. Is there any way to fix the problem? Any information is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Do not use the wireless computer to upgrade the firmware.Hard-reset the router for 1 minute and try this link and check if that works...

  • RV082 firmware/upgrade problems

We have an older (version 1) RV082 running firmware 1.3.6. After upgrading to firmware 2.0.2.01-tm the web management would not work (page not available). Even though the web management was not working the configured VPNs were working.   After resetting the router to factory defaults web management returned, but it stopped working as soon as I restored the router configuration.
I ended up reverting to the older firmware and restoring the router settings.
    1) Is there a router setting I should change before upgrading in order to enable web management?
    2) In the event I need to replace the router is there a utility that will convert the saved configuration file?  I have found mention of a conversion utility but it seems to have disappeared from the Cisco web sites.

Update - I have now seen this behavior with over a dozen RV042/RV082 devices. Solutions are:
Downgrading the RV082 to the 1.3.9.8 firmware
Downgrading the RV042 to the 1.3.12.6 firmware
Replacing the unit with the version 3 hardware (RV042v3, RV082v3). I have done this in three cases.
In all cases, these actions fix the WAN access issues for LAN computers.
    Some additional details:
Nearly all of my LAN clients in these situations are Mac OS X computers.
Not all RV042 routers with 1.3.13+ firmware, or RV082 routers with the 2.0+ firmware have this issue, but more than 75% seem to develop the problem, and the problem happens soon after the upgrade to the firmware, or if the device shipped with the newer firmware.
All devices that have the problem have one or more VPN Gateway-Gateway tunnels defined and active, but have a variety of other settings.
The symptom of the problem is that LAN computers have no problems with LAN IP communications, including access to the router administration web pages, but have intermittent or no connectivity to the WAN. The symptom is first observed as DNS timeouts, then can progress to total loss of WAN connectivity, but this more severe situation is not as common. Sometimes renewing the DHCP lease reactivates connectivity, sometimes restarting the router is required.
I have tried reloading firmware, factory defaulting devices, and not setting any settings except WAN IP information. The symptom was still present unless one of the above three solution actions was taken.
The v3 hardware and software is vastly improved, and I recommend this solution for anyone experiencing this problem, and possibly as a general recommendation. Performance of faster WAN connections is improved with the new hardware. Users that require the improvements in the firmware versions that exhibit this symptom should upgrade to the v3 hardware.

  • L530 BIOS and CPU upgrade problems

I recently upgraded the cpu in my E520 from a 2520M to a 2760QM. Though the cpu was not officially supported, it worked perfectly without so much as a bios update. It even benchmarks above passmark's average.
Smash cut to ebay a couple weeks later where I picked up a L530 and a 3720QM in an attempt to pull the same trick on an Ivy Bridge system. I installed the new cpu and it didn't post. Just some beep errors.
After doing quite a lot of research and buying a spi programmer I have tried the following:
    Updating the BIOS (beep errors)
    Updating the microcodes (beep errors)
Flashing a coreboot rom based on the T530 (would not even power on)
And flashing a rom with all microcode related data replaced with W530 code (still booted old processor, but gave beep errors with the 3720QM)
So this leaves me with a question. What could I be missing? The sockets and chipsets are compatible. It has got to be a BIOS problem. Is there a CPU whitelist I am not aware of?
I have not really been able to find any further information and any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • PX6 300d firmware upgrade problem

Hello all. We are trying to upgrade the firmware of our Storcenter, but the problem is that when we attempt to upload the ".tgz" file, the browser shows a message that said: "The software could not be updated", we tried with IE8, IE11, Chrome, Firefox and different O.S. like MacOS and Windows 7, 8 or 2008. We follow the steps detailed on this link https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27366. Firmware of our Storcenter: 3.2.3.14250  Any idea? Thanks in advance.

    Hello PabloRusso
Please be sure that your are trying to use the correct update files in order.
     px4px6-NOBRAND-3.2.3.15290.tgz would be first
    px4px6-4.0.2.9960.tgz would be second
and then you can go to px4px6-4.1.106.31982.tgz
Your px6-300d should be running version 4.0.2.9960 or above before updating to version 4.1.106.31982. If your px6-300d is running version 3.2.3.9273 through 3.2.3.15290, you can update using px4px6-4.0.2.9960.tgz and then update to 4.1.106.31982. If your px6-300d is running a version lower than 3.2.3.9273, you need to upgrade using px4px6-NOBRAND-3.2.3.15290.tgz, and then update to 4.0.2.9960 before updating to 4.1.106.31982.

  • Upgrading a iMac G3 from OS9.2 to OSX. Firmware upgrade problem.

I am having trouble updating the firmware on my iMac G3 400mhz computer. I am running 9.2 but there seems to be a sleep problem. The computer shuts off, after holding the programmer's button, during start up. So, the 4.1.1 update doesn't take. As well as when trying to start the system up fresh the screen stays black and only when I manually innitiate sleep and start up again does the screen come back on. I am at a loss.

Now, here is what I did from the very beginning.
I replaced the battery, set the power management button, booted up the computer, the computer starts up in sleep mode ( Screen is off and won't come back on till I manually press the power button to put the system to sleep. I then press it again to wake it up, only then will the screen come back on). I then shut down the system to install the firmwarre update. I held down the programmers button, system tones then the computer shuts down before starting up. I then start it up again and the computer tones 2 times as if it were resetting the PRAM. After start up a message sayes that the firmware was not installed.
    I am getting rather confused.

  • Nokia N73 Firmware Upgrade Problems

I just upgraded my firmware. I backed up before. I've restored the backup, and now many of my applications are missing, and so are ALL of my contacts. I know these were backed up as I remember checking the log after the backup to make sure that they were, and it said they all were successfully.
One strange thing, in my call log, and in my messages, they still have their names? And also, these were not stored on the simcard, they were stored on the phone. I also have a memory card that I didn't backup, as it wasn't needed too.
If anyone can help, I still do have the backups. Even if they'res a program that can read the nokia backups, I can just manually save contacts.
    Cheers
    Kieron

hmmm...try to do the hard reset on the phone and maybe remove the memory card and do the restore again. you know what, to prevent this from happening again in the future, make sure to copy ur contacts in ur sim card...thats what i do...
