X60 Cant even get to the BIOS
Hi
My X60 has suddenly stopped booting up
Sequence of events:
Press power button
BIOS "Press the Thinkvantage button" screen appears for a second
The shuts down
Any suggestions

Hi Andrew,
There's a few things you can try if you haven't already done so.
Take out the battery, unplug the ac adapter and press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds. Do that about 3 times and plug just the ac adapter in and see if it will start.
Make sure the ram chips are seated properly. If so, take out one at a time and see if it will turn on with just one or the other.
Question: When you turn it on, does the fan spin up before it shuts down? Were there any heating issues before it started doing this?

W520 won't boot. Can't even get to the BIOS .... help!
I have a 2 months old W520 factory settings. It has been acting up lately when powering up but after holding down the power button for 10 sec or so it would always start. However, that is not even working today.
I took out the battery and plugged it in AC and tried to no avail. I also tried powering it up with battery alone and neither seems to work. So I can't turn on the **bleep** machine now to even see what version the bios is or anything for that matter. Please help .... thanks!

I feel your pain.
It may be your system board is blooey, but we can try a few things before going to your local authorized Lenovo service center - or you may want to head over there right now:

I had a minor warranty issue recently and a local provider turned my machine around in two hours (after the parts came in).
If you want to mess around:
Are you sure your power supply is ok? Is your battery charged?
Have you tried unplugging everything from your machine (except for the AC adapter), including removing the disk drive, any usb devices etc.?
Is your laptop screen completely dead? If so, you might try plugging in an external monitor, just to check.
After that, you may also want to remove the keyboard, take out the backup battery, main battery etc and disconnect the AC overnight.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. However this is just because Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is an outdated version & the now the activation server for it does not exist.
Please refer to the following KB doc. Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
The above link will help you to install a special version that does not require activation.

There is no such thing as a "Factory Unlocked iPhone "
They are either locked to a carrier who may at some stage offer unlocking
or sold direct to a user by Apple (from their own Stores or online .)
Those iPhones are NOT locked

If you hold the lock button then it should come up with a button similar to the "slide to unlock" button saying "slide to power off" slide and the apple logo should come up then when it turns completely black it is off

I have the same problem. I backed up my iPad and upgraded to the most current iOS. After the upgrade finished, I connected to iTunes, when to File, Devices, Restore from backup. After it finished the iPad rebooted, I saw a progress line going across my iPad and after it finished it went back into Welcome, Hello, then > slide to setup. It keeps in this loop every time I try again.
If I hold down the on/off button and the home button it keeps going into the Welcome format when it reboots.
Does anybody know how to get my iPad working again? Should I set it up as a new iPad then see if I can restore from my backup? Will that work?

I STILL cannot get DW 8 to work correctly, and after exhausting every other avenue, I though I would try to down load the CS4 trial! I have followed all the instruction but I cant even get that to down load correctly!!

I then fiddled with it a bit more.. not quite sure what I did, have have down loaded it again! I got a message that windows didnt know which programe had created it ... etc... not knowing what to do I navigated to DW 8... and NOW i get this message...

Or Im Going To Switch to another ISP That aint a fraudThere is fibre (fibrespeed) products available in North East and North West Wales, and the core runs right through Bangor, over to holyhead and down to Pwllhelli, primarily focused on Business. There is also wireless available by a few companies now, though they focused on areas that get below 2mbps, where funding is available from the WAG upto £1000, to contribute the set up costs, strangely its never beyond £1000!. Until the funding has reached its limit or they stop extending 3rd extension now, those companies will not be looking expand in areas of 2mbps and higher any time soon. Its all do with the money with all of them.
As mentioned by some there is growing nomans land in the 2-7 mbps range, I would suggest any family will have started or very soon start arguing over who is hogging the Internet. Where the rest who always got the speed get more speed and people who never got are getting and the rest stay as we are!

I excepted the firefox update and now wish I never got involved with it at all. I am so upset, it change my toolbars and everything and now I cant even get anyone to fix this. maybe you have a suggestion or you want to fix this since it was your update that created this mess.

How do you get into the BIOS on a Satellite 320 CDS.
Hi my name is steve I was wondering how do you get into the BIOS on a satellite 320 CDS. As this is my first format on a lap top. Done plenty on desktop computers just never laptops. As some fool tried to do it before me and distroyed it. Now the only thing that happens is after the toshiba logo disappears this message comes up, INVALID SYSTEM DISK, REPLACE THE DISK AND THEN PRESS ANY KEY. It use to run Windows 98 and it worked great for how old it is. Was hoping to put XP on it but its only got a small hard drive (4099mb). So will have to put 98 back on it till I get a bigger hard drive.Only need it to teach my daughter how to respect a laptop. I mainly want to get into the BIOS for format. Any instruction on how to get into the BIOS would be great, as I'm good from there. Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't know the exact method for the Satellite 320 CDS.
But most of the Toshiba notebooks use one of the following methods.
If you see a message while booting "Press F2 to enter setup", do it and you get into BIOS.
Or you have to press ESC while booting, then press F1 when prompted to and you are in the BIOS.
