XFCE icon box item shows applications from all workspaces

first of all using latest packages...
my XFCE icon box item on the panel shows all tasks from all workspaces regardless of the option "show applications from all workspaces"
the task list item does that properly
what could the problem be?

but i tried task list item and it works properly even with compiz and virtual ports so that's not an excuse...
Well then, task list takes virtual workspaces into account whereas the IconBox doesn't...
heh well obviously
but if they already removed the feature from task list and ported the icon only display as a separate plugin they should have implemented the "virtual view-ports awareness" too :\

Show mail from all folders

Sorry if this has been asked and answered.
Is there a way to show email from all my differnt folders in one main folder. I use exchange and have rules on my computer that based on who its from it goes to a certain folder. When I view my email on iphone I have to go to each folder individually. Anyway to see all unread mail in one folder?

Seriously? Is there a third party app that can do this?
Like the original poster I'm used to Touchdown on my Android phone and I can sync whatever folder I want and then view them individually or all in a "unified inbox" if you will.
Apple needs to step up their game on this if they expect better enterprise adoption. What a pain to have to check each folder...also I've noticed I only get a notification badge when it's an email direct to my inbox!! Come on!! So I don't even know I have an email then I have to navigate through the folders themselves...arrrgh

Task manager show process from all user

Hi All,
Need a help.
I need to enable "task manager show all show process" for all normal users(view like XP) irrespective of admin or not.
Can any one help me how to go about this through GPO. I searched a lot in net but could not found any convincing solution for this.

This is not possible. User processes are isolated from each other. Only administrators can retrieve information about processes from other users. Either make your users local admin, or tell them this is not possible.
This is because of the security design which isolates users from other processes (service processes and other users' processes)
there are many things that don't work anymore. For example, on XP it was possible to give service applications a user interface (for example for disgnostic or development purposes). From Vista onwards this is no longer possible because allowing users to
interact with service applications is a security risk.
There are many such changes, and you have to update your processes accordingly.

KDE4.1 Do Not Show Windows From All Desktops

So how do I make my KDE4.1 desktop show windows on their own desktop and hide the buttons in the taskbar when I'm on a different desktop? This could be done in KDE 3 I remember.

Xmonad: How to display certain applications on all workspaces?

In xmonad I would like to make all windows of certain applications (primarily notification windows) to float on all workspaces. I looked into "copyToAll" but got lost.
Any help appreciated!

When a notification pops up the moment I am switching workspaces, I will not see it. If the notification displayed on all workspaces, I would be able to see it and close it on any workspace.

[Help] Password input box NOT showing up at all.

The actual box used to type the password in just will not show up. My phone can only be turned on my swiping the screen up. Everything else shows up, the time, email and text noticications, but when I swipe the screen up all the way I am left with a dimmed background and the black bar that goes across the top of the screen. I've had a password on my phone for over 3 months and haven't turned it off.
I can't restart my phone because the power button is broken and sticks if pressed... meaning it will turn itself on and off continuously for hours on end until I wiggle it out of place.
Is there any way to fix this other than waiting... a full 24 hours, probably, since I just charged my phone, for the battery to die?

Reboot: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, using the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
Try that and see if you password screen then appear correctly.

Launcher shows applications from OTHER partition

My iMac's 2011 internal disk is partitioned so that it can boot either with Mountain Lion, or Lion, depending on my needs.
I've just noticed that my Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Launcher shows certain applications that do not exist on my Mountain Lion partition, but do exist on my Lion partition.
Here's another observation : when I update my Mac App Store apps through Software Update in ML, I sometimes have to run it twice !
I figured that it first updates a given app that resides on my Mountain Lion partition, and then, at the next Software Update call, it will update the same app on my Lion partition.
I always thought that there was a certain "water-tightness" between partitions on a disk. Now I see it is not the case.
And I'm not sure that this is a "feature". I wonder if this can lead to problems. For example, if an app is compatible with Mountain Lion and not compatible with Lion, it could still be installed in Lion.
How about ejecting the irrelevant partition before Software Updating ?
Any thoughts ?

Whether in your case with multiple OS X partitions, or in my case, with dual internal drives, the Dock on the primary drive will try resolve previous links to /Applications locations from previous preference settings.
Two things that I observed.
Spotlight was happy to index both drives at a performance loss.
The App Store may get confused about multiple Apple ID in multiple keychains.Which messes up normal App Store and Software updates.
In Spotlight > Privacy, I told it to ignore everything but the current boot drive.
I also created a new /etc/fstab file entry that blocked automounting the non-boot drive.
I then added missing apps back to the primary boot drive.

In Outlook, only 1 RSS item shows up, from Sharepoint.

Ok, I have not been able to find this one. We have recently enabled RSS feeds on Sharepoint. If we add the feed to outlook, it only displayes the FIRST item. when you first subscribe, it looks like it goes through EVERY post, but only displays the first one, it does not grab the other ones. It is a really weird error. I am hoping that someone has an idea on how to fix this. Thanks!

If you are using RSS make sure the link and the guid are unique urls. If they are unique for the specific feed item they will show up.

Purchased tv shows disappeared from all devices

I have 3 TV shows which I have purchased entire seasons of and I have been watching on iPad and Apple TV. Now the devices say there are no TV shows purchased. When I go to purchase again iTunes has the series as purchased but none of the series are showing on my Apple devices.
How do I get the shows back??

Thanks again for reponding. I logged out and logged back in - and received the message that my ID was only valid for purchases from the Canadian Store and I would be switched to that. So my theory is that somehow my itunes switched itself to a version for another country, and that's the reason my purchases did not show. Not sure how that would have happened. I am currently abroad - in India - but I don't think iTunes auto-detects your location and changes accordingly. At least, I've been out of Canada for some time and never had that happen before.

Start application in all workspaces

Hello,
I am using Xfce4 and I have the Terminal autostarted when I log in. I do so with this command:
alltray --borderless --skip-taskbar Terminal --hide-menubar --hide-borders --geometry 860x900+10+10
Now this creates it in the first workspace. Is it possible to have it start in in all four workspaces?

Dropdown box of Lead application

Hi Guys,
How can I change the dropdown default in the show dropdown box of Lead application from "My Favorites" to "My Leads". Also, if I want to add an extra listing in this dropdown box how do I achieve it.

Hi Bobby,
You can change the setting per user in "settings" in the search area. You can select the entry which should be shown in. This setting is forper user. If you want to make global change. There some thing called copy global query in crmc_blueprint_c. you should use that.
To create another entry in Show dropdown. Save a query using save button in the search area.&GET dropdown gets its values from the fieldgroup(FG) assigned to the search area. There is rule to display fieds in the get dropdown. It takes all fields in the FG which are visible in the LIST. FIRST field in the FG will be shown as default in the GET DDLB.
For example look at the CRMM_ACCOUNT shows Account ID as default. Because field PARTNER1 is first field the FG ACC_SEARCH_LOG_11 which is inlcude in the FG ACC_SEARCH_04. Move the SORT1 field to position 1 in FG ACC_SEARCH_LOG_11. Now "Sort term 1" will be defaulted in the GET DDLB

Showing messages from multiple selected folders (including if any of the quick filter tool is used)

When I selected multiple folders, the messages pane only contains messages from the first selected folder. How can Thunderbird show messages from all selected folders instead? I can't find anything in the docs nor any extension capable of doing this. I'm used to this feature when I use KMail2.

Nope, not what I want. I don't want any searching, as simple as showing messages from ALL selected folderS, merged in one view.

Custom Icons and photos in pop-up boxes not showing up in My Google Maps

I created a special map in Google Maps called Tagworts in 2009. It has custom icons which show in Safari but not in Firefox (16.0.2). These items are also supposed to appear in the side panel where all the information related to each place is listed. The pop-up boxes which link to the icons on the map do not show the photos which used to be there (this is also the case with Safari).
I can't tell if the map works or not in other browsers. I need the map to work for a job application (the map is part of my work portfolio).
Is this a combination of problems with updates in both Firefox and Google?

Works here in Firefox 16.
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Firefox > Preferences > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Firefox > Preferences > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Application "Icons" no longer showing up in Application Catalog

We have around 500 "Applications" in our application catalog, and make heavy use of the Application Catalog for user self installations. Additionally, we had painstakingly gone through and added "icons" to every application to show up
in Software Center/Application Catalog to make things look "pretty" This had all been working as expected for over a year up until yesterday.
We were rolling out a new App Catalog Website/Web Service (2 servers) to replace our current. I removed the roles from the old one, added to the new. Everything works, software installs work, but no icons show up in the App Catalog. They DO however show
up fine in Software Center. I then reverted the change, putting the role(s) back on the previously working server. No dice, still no icons.
Been playing with it for almost a week, here is what I can discern:
No Icons show up at all, whether custom icons, shell32.dll default icons, or other.
All types do show up in software center after an install is initiated.
The permissions on the "AppIcons" folder are correct (RO to domain users), but the folder itself is empty
No Errors reported on any Roles, or Services (all green)
Modifying an app (removing and re-adding icon) has no effect, still doesn't show up in App Catalog.
Making a NEW app (with new icon) has no effect, still doesn't show up in App Catalog.
Is anyone familiar with the "How do icons get onto the app catalog" process? I assumed they all dumped to the AppIcons folder, but maybe not? Does anyone know what process/log controls this?

Wanted to follow up and post a solution to this.
Working with MS support, we were able to identify it as a permissions issue.
Our implementation spans multiple domains, multiple forests, so we have to add in the additional Domains Users with permissions to the "ApplicationCatalog" and "Usericons" folders. I chose to do this via GPO as we have several app
catalog servers, and this seemed "more consistent" to me.
I mistakenly assumed that the privs were identical on both folders when I configured it in GPO. Though very similar, they aren't identical and there are a few extra privs for the SCCM account(s) on the UserIcons folder, which allows it to "write"
to that folder. Simple Fix. Whoops!
Working with MS, I learned a bit more about how the App Catalog works, that I haven't seen written anywhere, so I'll include some of that here. All icons are stored in the SCCM database, and are accessible via the primary site server and WMI. However,
they are "cached" on each application catalog in the appicons folder. This process doesn't happen on a schedule, but rather happens when a user opens the application catalog (on demand). Any icons not retrieved and cached, are cached at that time.
In my case, I had made the GPO change 6 months prior, but no "new" icons had been added, we had been reusing them from app to app (Firefox icon stays the same, and so on). Therefore, it appeared to still be working fine and all icons showed up. In
my case, When I rebuilt the server(s) they needed to "re cache" the icons. When I reverted the app catalog to the old server to revert the change, it also had to "re-cache" the icons as they were deleted when the role was removed, which
was denied.
Hopefully this will help someone in the future if they ever have a similar issue.
