XI FILE(FTP) - XI- CRM(Idoc adapter) scenario - restart message

Hello All,
I have scenario as below.
FTP->XI->CRM
The sender adatper is File Adapter, FTP.
Recv. adapter : IDOC adapter.
In CRM, there were middleware settings for idoc processing.
For an interface, in XI, i had a problem in getting a file of 10 Mb in size, so the file is split and i have made the XI sender adapter 'Z_PRICE_NEW20061004*.txt', so it picks all files within 5 mins and i have almost 104 XML messages.
Now the problem is a quite no. of message are ended up with error status in outbouond process in XI.
How can i reporcess the message? As the file is deleted from FTP? i ahve to do anything with the  failed message.
A quick help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Jilan Bhasha

    Hi,
    CIDX Adapter is Chemical Industry standard for data exchange in B2B scenarios. It uses XML formatted in different manner specific to Chemical industry.
    In order to use this, you need to purchase the license.
    There are xml schemas provided by CIDX for each transaction like Order Create, Order change, shipping instruction etc..
    You need to download the once which are required in your scenario and use the same.
    For overview of CIDX in general you can visit http://www.cidx.org
    This might give u an business scenario -http://www.rexsoft.com/sci/Rex_CPI_XI_Configuration_Testing_Business_Package.pdf

  • XI IDoc adapter problem. MESSAGE.DUPLICATE_DE

    I have a problem with the IDoc. When sending the IDoc from the PI to ERP - system throws an error (ta SXMB_MONI):
    <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">

    What could be the problem?

    The HTTP code 500 indicates internal error in your application.
    Check on to the stacktrace in
    <local drive>:\usr\sap\XXX\YYY\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
    check note number 804124 at service.sap.com
    You can also check:-
    Ping the receiver host from XI server.
    Have a look at the SMICM->Trace file
    Test the connection of AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER
    HTTP 500 can be any problem at receiver side. Are you sure, that the payload fits to the receiver requirements?
    Also i looked up this message "MESSAGE.DUPLICATE_DE" this comes when duplication of message takes place.
    Try chaning the input data.

  • Maximum size of XML files and number of IDocs for IDoc receiver adapter

    Hi Guys,
    We have an XML file to IDoc scenario where XI picks up an XML file with multiple Customer records in it, it does a simple mapping and creates one DEBMAS06 IDoc per record in the XML file. All IDocs are sent in a single file in XML-IDOC format to IDoc adapter which then posts the separate DEBMAS IDocs to R/3.
    a) What is the maximum size of XML files that XI can handle with mapping involved ?
    b) What is the maximum number of IDocs in a single file that the receiver IDoc adapter can handle ?
    The first time this interface runs almost 200,000 Customer records will be exported in one XML file.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Well it is difficult to find out the  maximum Size of xml messgaes that can be processed by XI and also Maximum number idocs an recevier Idoc adapter can handle.
    This totally depends on your production system loads and the limits can be set totally on trail & error basis..
    In my heavy loaded production system, i found out that the maximum size of the successfull messages after processing by XI is around 75 MB (seen in transaction SXMB_MONI). Whereas messages with size around 100 MB went into error.
    I havent encounter any such limits with respect to Idocs.
    I would suggest that you divide your data into smaller chunks and sent it part by part instead of sending it all once since you data size is huge.
    You can vary your batch size as per your system load.

  • IDOC adapter Retry interval

    Hi
    I am doing File-IDOC scenario.
    For each 5 min there will be new file coming to the FTP folder..sender File adapter needs to pick the file and send as IDOC to R/3.
    Each file consist of multiple lines..so i am using IDOC bundling..so for each file i am sending aroung 50 IDOCs at a time toR/3..
    I am using BPM for this scenario...( i know we can do this without BPM also...but i have to use BPM..)
    if R/3 system is down...then i am waiting for 2 min..and through deadline branch i am canceling the process...assuming that receiver system is down..and throughing alert to support team to intimate the same...
    Each adapter is having default Retry interwal...if that adapter fails to send to the receiver...by default it will try for 3 time..with time interwal gap of 5min(i think) between each retry..
    For each 5 min i will get a new file...so i have mentioned 2 min for deadline branch...
    what happens if the IDOC adapter succeded in seconed attemt.(i mean after 5min) to send to receiver (here R/3)..?
      --> i am sending alert to support team...but IDOC has sent succefully..which should not happen..so either we have to decrease the IDOC retry interwal or need to increase the deadline branch inerwal...
    Questions:
    What's the default retry interwal for IDOC adapter??
    Can we decrease IDOC retry interwal time as normal file adapter in Visual admin..??
    if i increase the Deadline branch time interwal...it will keep on trying to send first file..so waiting status..if sencond file comes after 5 min...it will also wait status..will there be any problem...??
    Thanks
    Murali

    >>What's the default retry interwal for IDOC adapter??
    Can we decrease IDOC retry interwal time as normal file adapter in Visual admin..??
    No. Idoc adapter is not part of Java stack and hence you cant alter any idoc adapter settings in VA.
    When the Idoc adapter fails, the message fails in SXMB_MONI unlike other adapters which pass through SXMB_MONI.
    So, incase of Idoc adapter the restart depends on the reprocessing the error messages in SXMB_MONI.
    Usually the report to restart errror messages in SXMB_MONI is scheduled as a background job.
    You need to check for that. But in most cases, the interval is a few hours rather than minutes.

  • 2 files (header and detail) == IDOC

    Hello everybody.
    I was searching, but I do not know how to do this multi mapping. The client do not want BPM's.
    I need to map from 2 files (FTP) into 1 IDOC, how can I do it?
    Thank you very much.
    Sebastiá

    hi,
    >>>I need to map from 2 files (FTP) into 1 IDOC, how can I do it?
    this one is easy without a BPM
    make sure your file adapter polls the file and the second file as an attachment (file adapter can do that)
    then in the mapping do the attachment lookup (from 7.1) and map both file to one IDOC
    no easier way

  • Question to  IDoc-Adapter

    Hi,
    we want to operate 3 software components (1. development status, 2.presentation, 3.productive) and all software components use the same IDoc-adapter.
    My question is:
    If we send a message from the R3/System ( one client) to XI. how can I configure the IDoc-Adapter that the message is going to the software-component development for example?
    Or do we need 3 client to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    >>>>we want to operate 3 software components (1. development status, 2.presentation, 3.productive) and all software components use the same IDoc-adapter.
    1. this is <b>HIGHLY</b> not advisable to

    if you do that you can expect many

    don't do that never - it's like having

  • Quality of service in Receiver file/ftp adapter (SAP PI 7.1)?

    Hi,
        We are building an IDoc to File scenario in SAP PI 7.1, where a single incoming idoc will create three different output files. Also files must be created in target server in a specific order.
        Our first idea to ensure that files would be created following a specific order was that Message mapping (in Java) build target payload with all three files following expected sequence.
        In addition, receiver file/ftp adapter is setup with a dynamic variable to create each file with a different filename adding also timestamp.
        Testing the scenario, we see that three files are created in target server but when we sort them by creation date, it seems they don't follow always same sequence.
        Sometimes adapter creates File1, File2, File3; next time it created File2, File1, File3 and so on.
        Our problem is that files must be created always with a specific order and we cannot use BPM. Does anyone know if a receiver file/ftp adapter can be setup to create files following specific sequence (EOIO)?
        I know that sender file/ftp adapter can be setup with a quality of service, but I didn't find anything similar for Receiver file/ftp adapter.
        Suggestions will be welcome.
    Kind Regards,
    Aitor

    Hi,
         First, thanks all of you for your quick answers. They were helpful because we learnt a new configuration setting.
         We tried your suggestions but they didn't really fix our problem.
         Finally interface has been re-designed and we will not have to apply this logic, so no issue from our side.
         However, let me continue with this topic in case that somebody else will have the same issue, then it will be able to review this thread.
         When adapter created the files in the target directory (windows server), files had the expected timestamp in each filename. However, if we sorted windows directory contents by "Date Creation", files were sorted different that timestamp shows in the filename.
         For example, adapter created following files:
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File3_20090325-115117-180
         But when we sorted windows folder contents, files were sorted as follows:
    File2_20090325-115117-174
    File1_20090325-115117-169
    File3_20090325-115117-180
         It seems that timestamp was pre-assigned by the adapter, but when adapter created the files, it did it with a temporary name and finally assigns the filename. If a file size was bigger than other, maybe it takes more time and windows creation date is higher.
         If so, it means that adapter is not following same instructions as itu2019s indicated in "maintain order at runtime" checkbox.
         Do you know if there is any way where we can push also the order in the adapter as we did in interface determination?

  • Could not process due to error: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550

    Hi Experts,
    We have many File to EDI scenarios wherein XI System pick up the XML and sent to customers via EDI. Recently we faced a problem so created a Back-up System (Production copy) and tested successfully. After sometime the messages were routed to this back-up system and when we notice it and then stopped the back-up system. All the messages that were routed to back-up system, we try to send the same messages from the actually Production system to our customers. Now the problem is XI system (Production system) is unable to pick these files and I check the communication monitoring and encountered the below error message.
    Could not process due to error: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550.550
    Can anyone let me know how to fix the issue or what needs to be done?
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
    It seems to be problem with permission of files. Please ask your basis to do following:
    1. Set the permissions to FTP User you are using as 777 rights(full access to read , write and delete)
    2.If you have access to PI server, try to telnet /connect to ftp using command prompt (open ftp .....) the FTP server form there, you should see the same error there , inform this to your network guys.
    3.Clear all the files places already in the ftp (take backup) and test afresh after permissions are set by basis team.

  • File to IDOC scenario-no messages in SXMB_MONI

    Hi all,
       I know this is asked so many times ,I checked some links but couldn;t find out the gap where it happened.
    I am doing a File to IDOC scenario through XI mapping.
    I am not getting any messages in SXMB_MONI.
    When I check Communication Channel monitering in Runtime Workbench, it shows processing successfully, then it should generate messages in SXMB_MONI and intimate whether the scenario created is correct or not right!
    Please help.
    My scenario goes like this:
    Sender : Business service(Some file location)
    Used File adapter for sender communication channnel.
    Receiver : Business system(SAP R/3)
    Used IDOC Adapter for receiver communication channel.
    One more thing is,do I need to create logical system for Business service also?If so, where do I maintain it?(In SAP R/3 or in XI system?)
    Till now,I maintained my XI system as logical system in WE20 and I didn't create any logical system for business service in any system.Does it create main problem?

    Hi , I am able to poll the files from file location now.and I am receiving IDOC into SAP R/3 with status 56.I already created partner for file path as a logical system and assigned inbound parameters with respective message type . Even the status shows :
    An inbound partner profile could not be found with the following key:
    /LSDEMO/LS//DEBMAS////
    This involves the key fields of table EDP21:
    -SNDPRN  partner number of sender
    -SNDPRT  partner type of sender
    -SNDPFC  partner function of sender
    -MESTYP  logical message type
    -MESCOD  logical message code
    -MESFCT  logical message function
    -TEST    test flag
    I already manitained following data and there is one record in EDP21.
    SNDPRN  = LSDEMO
    SNDPRT  = LS
    SNDPFC = LS
    MESTYP   =  DEBMAS
    MESCOD = space
    MESFCT = space
    TEST = space
    EVCODE   = DEBM
    SYNCHK = X
    METHOD = space
    USRTYP = space
    USRLNG = space
    INMOD = space
    DCART = space
    And please let me know whether I have to maintain outbound parameters  also for my partner in XI system.I didn't see any difference even I maintained it.
    And my IDOC takes another port rather than I mentioned in my SNDPRN(sender port) of my IDOC control record in message mapping.Let me know whether it's mandatory to maintain port name with SAP<XXX>convension,because IDOC in R/3 is picking the port with that naming convension.

  • IDoc Adapter - Logical System - File to IDOC configuration

    I have a scenario reading a File ->XI->IDoc in R/3. I'm looking to have the control record parameter for SNDPRN reflect the Environment dealt with. I unchecked the 'Apply Control Record Values from Payload'  & 'Take Sender from Payload' boxes but the problem I'm getting is that the system is reading from the business service (IDoc Adapter - Logical System) and feed it in the Partner Profile in the IDOC. This means that I should all the time redefine 3 this Logical System in config before transporting my scenario from DEV/QA/PRD. Any idea how I can avoid this kind of 'hardcode' ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Why u r using three different LS can't u use only one LS and send all the IDOCs to same LS. That will ease ur task.
    Do let me know why u r going for three different LS.
    In the file r u getting any data which will help u to identify that this file is for which LS. IF that is the scenario then u can use the value mapping and based on the value which is coming in file u can map it to the IDOc filed which u have mentioned and in the configuration it will take the respective configuration.
    Thnx

  • Doubt about RFC Destination in FILE to IDOC Async scenario

    hi
    In FILE-XI-IDOC Async Scenario we are creating RFC Destination in R/3 and XI.
    For Asyn we don't want response But We are Creating RFC Destination in R/3 also.
    Any specific reason.
    Thanks in advance.

    First you need to have a clear understading of how the idoc adapters works.
    In xi we create rfc destination and specify that in the port maintenance on the idoc adapter so that we can establish a connection to the sender / receiver system which contains the IDOC METADATA (IDX2) that is required by the idoc adapter to convert the native idoc into idoc xml format.
    In R/3 as sender we create rfc destination so that when the idoc has to be transported to the xi system first it will be sent to trfc port that rfc desination that  u define the trfc port contains that the target system address(IP) and logon parameters req.So idoc can be sent to the desired destination.
    In R/3 as a receiver to facilitate communication we define rfc dest, partner profile and specify the inbound parameters so that idoc can be posted.
    Hope this answers your ques.
    cheers
