XL Reporter multiple expressions in selection
Trying to do something simple. I created two paramter expressions for the GlAccount. One CostCenter and Second expression Divison. When I select the selection tab on my report and use either a row expansion or summary - I enter the natural account with the selection with an And for costcenter and an And for divison from the parameter expression field. When I accept the result xlreporter is returning only first paramater expression I entered. I am on 2007 SP01 A with Patch 10. What am I missing?

I have two parmaters setup as an expression. One based on GlAccount Segment_2 named @DIV the second based on GLaccounts Segment_1 named @ISL. On my row I select GLAccounts Sement_0 begins with 5 And @DIV And @ISL when I press ok it only diplays @DIV in the selection box. If I mannuly try to enter the selection it give me an error.

The reason behind the error message requires the knowledge on what happens at the backend. When you perform a drill-through action, a query is sent to Analysis Services. This query is expressed in a query language called Multi-Dimensional Expression (MDX).
Since the MDX language doesnot support drill-through command against a set (collection of tuples) an error is persisted.
For now, there is no workaround as it is a limitation of the underlying language that is generating the query.
When multiple items are selected you lose the ability to drill-down on individual metrics. To resolve you must either:
1. Select a single Item.
2. Select all items.

I recommend the PCA standard drill-down or interactive reports accessible via the follwoing menu path:
Accounting --> Enterprise Controlling --> PCA --> Infosystem --> Reports for PCA
There are several reports which allow entering profitcenter groups or profitcenters.
Long Text is not possible. Makes also no sense to report on Long Text.

COPA Report: Multiple selection
Hi Gurus,
I want to have a profit center as a multiple selection to be given as an input in KE30 report. That means user should be able to execute the report based on the selection of the profit center in the entry screen
For the same I created a global variable and following are the details fo the same

I have created Form for the report based on the line item (Tcode KE94). If I want to use this global variable "&PCT" in the "General Data selection" tab in the Form,the characteristic Profit center is not available for selection from the field catlog. Profit center is one of the characteristic in the operating concern.But this is available for the Navigation in KE30 report. I deselected Profit center from the Nevigation in KE32 but still I am not able to make it available for selection in "General data Selection" tab in Form.
What is the relevance of Variable On/OFF in KE30 report? How to make this Global variable available to be used in "General data selection" tab in the Form?

Included Profit center along with the controlling Area.
Then I changed my report:

I have created few items in a page and all items are Lov items and based on these items stacked charts will display. My requirement is I need to select multiple values form LOV's
Eg: In Interactive report goto filter and select an item and expression as IN and select multiple items and i need to select multiple values like this.
Please anybody help me how to get multiple values.
I have one more doubt Can we have a Print preview option in APEX.
I have to see print preview for stacked charts. is it possible?

I have an SSRS report that produces a list of invoices for a single supplier (so supplier is a parameter specified at runtime). The report is based on a stored procedure in SQL. I would like to make things easier and instead of going through all suppliers
one by one, I want to have a single action, which produces separate reports, per supplier, for all suppliers that have an outstanding invoice (so not all suppliers on the system as a whole but all suppliers that are within the result set of the stored procedure).
I assume this would mean first executing the stored procedure to find all suppliers that have invoices at the time. And then running the report multiple times, once for each supplier, where the supplier value is used as the parameter every time. ideally
this would open separate webpages with a single report per page. (I am creating a button in another software, which is simply launching iexplore.exe and passing a
fixed SSRS report URL).
What would be required? I have SQL 2012 and I am building this in Report Builder 3.0.

Yes thats a much better option. Its very easy to generate such a report in SSRS. You dont need a parameter
in that case but just needs to add Supplier as a grouping field in the tablix. Then add other columns and groups if required. Select option set page break after each instance of the group for first grouping (ie based on supplier field). Then report will render
with one page per supplier. On exporting to excel also each supplier data goes to a different tab

Crystal Reports 2008; Can't select the certain table. Why?
Please help me everyone!
problem note:
I'm using Crystal Report 2008 to access MS SQL Server 2005 Database.
Everything was good until last month.
But somehow when I select the table "FTABLE11C", Crystal Repors hanging-up and no more Crystal Reports works.
If I copy the FTRAN11C to different name such as "aaa" using following statement and use Crystal Reports then I can select the "aaa" whthout problems.
Select * into aaa from FTRAN11C.
So, I drop the tbale FTRAN11C and copy FTRAN11C from aaa table using following statement,
select * into FTRAN11C from aaa
and select the FTRAN11C again on Crystal Reports 2008, Crystal Reports 2008 hanging-up again.
I'd like to know how to solve this situation.

1. We didn't have any patch on SQL Server.
2. I delete one field on table that named "FTRAN11C".
That's all.
3. I tried following steps;
a. Copy the file to another name.
Select * into aaa from FTRAN11C
b. Droped the bad table.
Drop table FTRAN11C
c. Copy back from saved table.
Select * into FTRAN11C from aaa
4. Open Crystal Reports 2008
a. Connect to database with OLD DB.
Crystal Reports shows all the tables within database without any problems.
b. Select the table aaa.
No problems. It shows on right side box.
c. Select the table FTRAN11C that is recently created from saved table.
Now we have problems.
It does not shows on right side box.
Little circle displaying forever.
If I click right side x, Crystal Reports 2008 is closed.
5. If I use following command on SQL Server Management Studio Express, all of data shows without any problems.
Select * from FTRAN11CInstall all patches as you are on the original release:
Be sure you have the keycode, used to install the product, I will not be able to get you a new one if you lose it or don't have it available.
The easiest way to update is to uninstall CR 2008 and then install Service Pack 3 full build:

Then install SP 4:

Then test your reports again.
As for using/upgrading to CR 2011 it's not required and likely won't make any difference but you can upgrade if you want of course.

I'm trying to avoid havig to create a report to collectively display multiple BOMS by selection (eg MRP controller, group of header materials etc) to satisfy the following:
- collective display
- multi-level display (indented)
- factor scrap, giving component qtys as per base qty of BOM header

One Student prints on a page (rowset2). I need to print data from rowset3 for each student, (group field = sib_group_field).

Under my processes there is a javaw.exe process eating up all my cpu, then after about 11 minutes the report will display.
I see there is the data template version, but we are calling the report from APEX using apex_util.download_print_document and I do not know how to implement the data template in APEX.Hi,
were you able to resolve this error? (Not the master detai report-multiple quesries, but the error you quoted in this post)
My xml file is of *30,613KB* size.
Even I am getting the same error when I try the preview the report through Template Builder
and also, My original report is giving me a blank report. I have a standalone Bi Publisher environment which gathers data through SQL statement.
How did you handle this? -
Only send those records in report where expression is True
Hi,
I have created a formula with two formula variables on Dates. The expression in formula is Solved Date < Due Date.
This results in report showing 1 and 0 (1 where expression is true and 0 where expression is false)
But in BEx query designer is there any way to send only those records in report where expression is 1 (true)

You can suppress zeros changing the query properties in rows/columns tab. If you select effect on rows, it doesn't show 0 values in the report. This will work if you have only that KF in your query, if there are any other KFs and you still don't want to show other rows then you can use conditions as seshu has mentioned.

Hi Experts,
Can it be possible in OBIEE that if multiple values are selected in a multiselect prompt then we can get individual graph for each selected values?
For eg if in a multiselect prompt,values such as bangalore,pune,hyderbad etc are selected then the result in a report diosplays 3 graphs one for each state.
Waiting for any work arounds on this.

In a report, how can I call multiple selection screens predefined, and create BDC recording in the program based on the values entered in the selection screens. The selection screens are 4 in my scenario in a specific order. RickyIf ur option is to creat multiple screens...go for tabstrip option in ur report and record it.

Unable to integrate Oracle Reports with Express. While defining
the Express database connection using the olap connection editor
iam getting the following error "Error locating the XCONEDIT.INI
file. Try re-installing the software".
what should be done?

Multiple records in select options-Urgent help
Hi all,
Iam using the following function module to get the set values. I need to pass multiple values in select options(ie) select options with no intervals. to the function module parameter Shortname. I have declared the variable which has to be passed as
S_SETID FOR SETHEADER-SETNAME NO INTERVALS.
The problem is when i use S_SETID-LOW the value is passed to the function module , but if multiple data is entered in the input then how to pass all the data to the function module. Please Help.Hi,
Declare the Range in the Function module , then you can pass that Select-option fields to that ranges and use that in the Function module.
Or you can use the RANGE_C8 for the Select-optios in the Function module, you can declare the Internal table with the type of RANGE_C8 in the tables parameter, then pass the Select-option to this Internal table
If you want more length field then search based on RANGE_* then you will get all the Range Structure.

Is there a way to hide some reports based on the selected values in prompt.
For ex. if a year is selected in the prompt then the report should display year wise report.
If a year and half year both are selected in the drop down from prompt section then 2 reports should come.. One for year wise and another for half year wise.Kindly look into this.

Use presentation values in prompts for year,half,qtr and month.Example- For year-y is presentation variable in the same way for halfyear-h,qtr-q and month-m.
create four intermediate reports.Example-Report r1 with only year column,r2 with only halfyear column,r3 with qtr column and r4 with month column.
Make column in each report(r1,r2,r3,r4) is equal to their presentation variables(y,h,q,m).
Use four sections.
Section1-Place report that should come when only year.
section2-Place report that should come for year and halfyear.
Section3-Place report that should come for year,halfyear and qtr.
Section4-Place report that should come for year,halfyear,qtr and month.
Apply guided navigation for each section selecting guided navigation-
For section1-
properties->Guided navigation->check this Reference Source Request(Yes)->select report r1(year)->check this Show Section(if request returns row)
In the same way do for remaining section2(select r2),section3(select r3) and section4(select r4)
