XML formatting with scroll component

Hi All,
I am using CS5, AS3 and the scrollbar component as well as dynamic text from an XML file. I can format the text (color) in my XML that IS NOT being pulled into the scrollbar text. However, I have had no success formatting anything that is to scroll.
I have tried with and without CDDATA tags and nothing works. Is this allowed?
Thanks.

Can you format XML with hmtl tags (eg with or without accompanying CDDATA tags with a scrollbar component in Flash CS5?
I have tried numerous versions and can't get it to work. However, it works on text that isn't associated with a scrollbar component.
Here is my XML code:
Content for full text screen would go here.Content for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go here.Content for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go here.Content for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go here.Content for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go hereContent for full text screen would go here</fulltext>
Is there any other way to format that would work?

• How can I convert IDoc in XML format w/DTD into a string?

I want to send by e-mail outbound IDoc in XML format with its document type definition (DTD).
I want to be able to get the same output result into a string than the XML file IDoc port type with DTD activated. I have created a FM (based on SAP "OWN_FUNCTION") assigned to an IDoc port of type ABAP-PI that executes the following processing steps:
1-Extract outbound IDoc information to get the sender & recipient mail addresses (EDP13 / EDIPHONE tables).
2-Convert & Transform IDoc data into XML string using FM IDX_IDOC_TO_XML.
3-Prepare and send e-mail with XML attachement using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
I cand generate the e-mail with the XML file attachement but FM IDX_IDOC_TO_XML does not convert the IDoc with proper formating and DTD.
What should I use to accomplish the IDoc conversion to XML w/DTD into a string?
Should I use XSLT tools ?
How does that work?
Thank you

Use decimal string to number
Specifically, you can define a constant with a different datatype on the input on the lower left if you need a different datatype (e.g. U8, I64, DBL, etc) Are all your values integers or do you also need to scan fractional numbers? In this case, you should use "fract/exp string to number" instead.

Hi Prasad,
Thanks for your quick response.
I am able to load successfully Project and Master Agreement in XML format with metadata containing multibyte char.
Multibyte char is displayed on Project and Master Agreement Screen.

• Scroller Component not working with TabbedViewNavigator Component (Flex Mobile)

SETUP:
-The Application itself is a MobileApplication, not TabbedMobileApplication.
-One of my pages/views (we'll call it "TabbedPage") incorporates the TabbedViewNavigator component, which calls on two other pages/views in my "views" folder; we'll call them "TabbedPageOne" and "TabbedPageTwo"; the other pages within the application are just regular View pages with components on stage, including a page that also incorporates the Scroller component, which functions properly without a hitch.
-TabbedPageOne incorporates a Scroller component (followed by a VGroup component as required) that is constrained to the whole screen (left, right, top, & bottom all equal "0").
-At runtime (on my desktop and device), when I navigate to the TabbedPage page -- consisting of TabbedPageOne & TabbedPageTwo -- the Scroller component will not scroll.
---Sidenote: I filled the page with components like buttons and labels to fill the page to the point of activating the scroll function, and although the buttons were still functioning (meaning they still respond to touch events), the Scroller still did not function.
Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong, or is this a glitch within the Flex Framework?
You help would be greatly appreciated!

• Creating xml format file with double dagger ‡ as delimiter

Hi,
My source files are delimited with double dagger (‡) and I am using openrowset to load the files to SQL Server. When I am creating the format file by specifying the delimiter as ‡, the format file created has a different delimiter than the specified one.
The new delimiter appearing in xml format file is ç.
Any help?

• Strange issue creating a BCP xml format file with double dagger '‡' (alt + 0135) as column terminator with bcp.exe

Hi,
I'm having issues generating a BCP XML format file using a fairly unusual column terminator, a double dagger symbol
‡ (alt + 0135) which I need to support.
I'm experiencing this problem with bcp.exe for SQL2008 R2 and SQL2012.
If I run the following command line:
bcp MyDB.TMP.Test_Extract format nul -c -x -f "C:\BCP\format_file_dagger_test.xml" -T -S localhost\SQL2012 -t‡
I end up with a XML format file like so:

<BCPFORMAT xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/bulkload/format" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<RECORD>
<FIELD ID="1" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="255" COLLATION="SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"/>
<FIELD ID="2" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="50"
.. and so on.
You will notice that the TERMINATOR="ç" (Minuscule c-cedilla) is output instead of TERMINATOR="‡". The
ç character, is strangely enough is alt + 135 (and not alt + 0135) so this might more than a coincidence! I know you can specify the codepage but this switch applies the data being imported or extracted and not for the format file
itself (I tried it anyway).
In order to use the XML file to bulk import I manually did a text substitution of 'ç' character for '‡' and then BCP imports '‡' data fine.
This character swap doesn't occur if I generate a non XML format file (the '‡' character is output in the format file correctly) however, this file produces other import errors, which I don't encounter if I use a standard delimiter like a comma. So I have stuck
with the working XML format file which I prefer.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm planning to automate the generation the of the XML format file and would like to avoid the additional step of text substitution if possible.
Thank you.

Hi Ham09,
According to your description , we do a test and find that the character of the terminator is changed due to the code page of Operation System. When you choose the different time zone in Data and Time bar, and do the same bcp test, you will find it will
export the different TERMINATOR in your XML format file. For example, you can import the character "ç" (alt + 135) in (UTC-12:00)International Date Line West time zone and (UTC+09:00)Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo time zone, and check if the terminators are different.
By default, the field terminator is the tab character (represented as \t). To represent a paragraph mark, use \r\n.
For more information, there is detail about code page(Windows), you can review the following article.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd317752(v=vs.85).aspx

• Unwanted Default Formatting with import XML

I have a problem of unwanted default formatting with import XML. Under InDesign CS6, I import XML with merge mode.
One frame is difficult to apply with the placeholder, I should put the XML element A inside by hand. InDesign automatically applies the character style of the child element B to the following text in element A.
I tried the steps of this article http://indesignsecrets.com/fixing-unwanted-default-formatting.php/comment-page-1#comment-5 62875
But it doesn't work for me.
Dose anyone have an idea? Thanks.

Kasyan, I agree with you!
So this is what i did in xslt.
First I added the following namespace to the stylesheet.
xmlns:file="http://www.jclark.com/xt/java/java.io.File"
This is not supported by indesign, you have to do this with a parser. I used saxon to parse the xml.
And this is the part for the existing file lookup.
If the file exists the image is placed as a href, if it doesn't exist i put the name of the image between brackets. In this case we can see in which image doesn't exist.
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="file:exists(file:new(string($imagefile)))">
<xsl:element name="Articleimage">
<xsl:attribute name="href">file://../images/<xsl:value-of select="Properties/Property[@field = 9]"/></xsl:attribute>
</xsl:element>
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<xsl:text>[</xsl:text><xsl:value-of select="Properties/Property[@field = 9]"/><xsl:text>]</xsl:text>
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
I hope it helps for others.
Good luck!

Any suggestion??
Thx b4 in advance...

I understand what you are trying to do, I get the same problem.
It seems to be that with the "go" you can request a report in xml format OR you can filter a report with passed parameters, but it doesnt seem to like you passing filters AND wanting the results in xml format.
Heres my examples
1 - call report in xml format - this works
saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Reports/TestReport&Format=xml
2 - call report with filter passed ( the table.column is set to "is prompted" in the report ) - this works
saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Reports/TestReport&Action=Navigate&Format=xml&col1={table}.[column}&op1=eq&val1={passed value}
3 - call report in xml with filters - this does NOT work observes the XML format only.
saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/Reports/TestReport&Format=xml
&Action=Navigate&Format=xml&col1={table}.[column}&op1=eq&val1={passed value}
If anyone has a solution to this I'd be really interested to know.

• Help with Labview for Linux application - datalog to XML format

Hi,
I am working on an application that makes use of a PDA for instrument control and data acquisition, and all our code has been written with the use Labview PDA 8.2. The instrument data is returned wirelessly to a remote server, and one of the specifications we set early in the project was the data would be returned in XML format in line with Labview's inbuilt XML schema.
Unfortunately, this XML funtion is not available on Labview PDA! We have made a change to return the data in Labview's 'Datalog' format, and then we now intend to run an additional application on the server to convert this information to XML before passing the data to our customer's software.
We have successfully done this with Labview for windows, but our customer's server is Linux based.
Is anyone aware of someone (or a company) who would be able to take our existing 'datalog-to-XML' vi and compile it for Linux? The program is really simple, and I would hope that all the functionality we use is supported in Labview for Linux.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark
LabVIEW VIs that are developed in a Windows environment can be used in a Linux version of LabVIEW. As long as the VIs have not got Windows specific features such as ActiveX or Windows dll call you can run the VI in Linux. Also there maybe some specific drivers that are not supported under the Linux environment (see link). The VI will simply be recompiled in Linux. The Linux user must have a copy of the Linux LabVIEW Development System installed though.

• XML file with different format

Hello
I have a requirement where the customer needs XML file with different format. How do I achieve the second format mentioned below instead of first format.
Normally we create the XML file in the following format:
- <Entries>
- <Organization>
<MemberName>0000000002</MemberName>
<FullName>BAY GYNECOLOGICAL ASSOCIATES</FullName>
<OrgId>0000000002</OrgId>
<OrgType>CUST</OrgType>
- <AssociatedToOrg>

- </AssociatedToOrg>
</Organization>
Now the customer wants like the following format:
<Organization MemberName="522_Community_Customer" FullName="522 Community Customer" OrgId="DEA123456" OrgIdType="DEA" >
<AssociatedToOrg Name="MN"/>
</Organization>
Thanks

• Create XML format file in bulk insert with a data file with out delimiter

Hello
I have a date file with no delimiter like bellow
0080970393102312072981103378000004329392643958
0080970393102312072981103378000004329392643958
I just know 5 first number in a line is for example "ID of bank"
or 6th and 7th number in a line is for example "ID of employee"
Could you help me how can I create a XML format file?
thanks alot

This is a fixed file format. We need to know the length of each field before creating the format file. Say you have said the first 5 characters are Bank ID and 6th to 7th as Employee ID ... then the XML should look like,

<BCPFORMAT xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/bulkload/format"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<RECORD>
<FIELD ID="1"xsi:type="CharFixed"LENGTH="5"/>
<FIELD ID="2"xsi:type="CharFixed"LENGTH="2"/>
<FIELD ID="3" xsi:type="CharFixed" LENGTH="8"/>
<FIELD ID="4" xsi:type="CharFixed" LENGTH="14"/>
<FIELD ID="5" xsi:type="CharFixed" LENGTH="14"/>
<FIELD ID="6" xsi:type="CharFixed" LENGTH="1"/>
</RECORD>
<ROW>
<COLUMNSOURCE="1"NAME="c1"xsi:type="SQLNCHAR"/>
<COLUMNSOURCE="2"NAME="c2"xsi:type="SQLNCHAR"/>
<COLUMN SOURCE="3" NAME="c3" xsi:type="SQLCHAR"/>
<COLUMN SOURCE="4" NAME="c4" xsi:type="SQLINT"
/>
<COLUMN SOURCE="5" NAME="c5" xsi:type="SQLINT"
/>
</ROW>
</BCPFORMAT>
Note: Similarly you need to specify the other length as well.
