XML header for WebServices (SOAP)

Hi all!
I have quite strange problem about XML header in SOAP message for WS. Usually I don't care about XML header in SOAP message, because so far I had no problems calling load of WS on different servers. Stnadard XML header that comes out looks like this (1.0 and UTF-8 are in single quotes): <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>.
But this time, the webserver I'm trying to call accepts only double quotes, e.g. like this: <?xml version="1.0' encoding="UTF-8"?>, it doesn't understand single quotes at all and there is no way of changing it!
JDeveloper uses apache soap for standard and makes single quotes. I tried raw http call by wrapping all text into post method -> that works, so webservice is working.
I can't set anything except endpoint, parameters, method :(
How can I make call that uses double quotes?
Pseudo logic is like this:
Vector params = new Vector();
params.addElement(xxxx);
Call call=new Call("xxx", "xxx", params, xxx, Constants.NS_URI_SOAP_ENC);
Response response = call.invoke(endpointURL, "xxx");

Hacked Oracle (apache) classes and put right values in it.
It was hard coded string, who on earth could thought that :D

    Help is greatly appreciated as always.

  • JCAPS 5.12 - modifying SOAP header for webservice Invocation

    I am trying to call an external web service from JCAPS 5.1.2 and need to set a token in the SOAP header. I am able to do this in other client implementations, however, the methods to modify the header don't seem to be exposed within JCAPS 5.1.2 or I do not know how to find the methods.
    Has anyone tried this before?

    Hi Experts,
    I'm trying to protect a web service deployed in jcaps 5.1.1, using SAML assertions against an Access Manager 7/7.1, the web services clients are both, web and standalone applications, I also have read netbeans tutorials, that expose how to implement identity webservices using AppServer 9.1 + AccessManager 7.1 using the SAML Holder of key and other security mechanisms, but this implementation requiere modifications to the server.policy file to add support to SOAP message security providers and HttpServlet message security providers, the addition of a library called amwebservicesprovider.jar to the classpath suffix (this library implements the jsr-196 java Authentication Service Provider Interface for Containers) and aditional configuration required in the AM side that is not detailed in the tutorials.
    Could someone guide me on how to protect the acces to a web services deployed in the jcaps logicalhost based on AM roles assigned to users?

    Security Procedure (response) - None

    SOAP Axis framework is not installed at present  and working on PI 7.1 SP6.
    Looking forward for your replies

    same issue for me too.
    Try using WS adapter on receiver side .
    If you are able to attach SOAP header with WSSE fields using SOAP adapter at reciever channel let me know how you did it.

  • Trying to do a XML dump for soap using AXIS

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to get a dump of the XML I am generating for a SOAP transaction. I've done a bit of a seach, and it seems that I need to put the following in my JRX-RPC security file
    <xwss:SecurityConfiguration>
    <xwss:SecurityConfiguration dumpMessages="true">
    The only problem being..... My jrxrpc jar doesn't appear to have a security file.
    I thought therefore it was probably just inheriting the information from my Java setup. So I wanted to change Java\jdk1.5.0_06\jre\lib\security, but there is nothing in there that looks remotely like the xml above.
    Can anyone give me a pointer exactly where I should be putting these things?
    Thanks very much
    Dianne

    To use the TCPMonitor:
    Say you are running your axis service on localhost port 8080
    Launch TCPMonitor, i.e.:
    java -classpath c:\axis-1_4\lib\axis.jar org.apache.axis.utils.tcpmon 1234 127.0.0.1 8080
    Now edit your XXXServiceLocator class so that the address points to port 1234 instead of 8080
    Now TCPMonitor will log all request/response pairs and forward your requests on for you to the correct port.

    Hi Jay, you can make it in more than 1 way.
    I suggest you the following:
    - create an URL iview that points to any URL you want.
    - define a Resource that points to the iview (with a window name, to open in new window)
    - define an Area that points to the resource
    - add your new Area to the your current Area Group

  • How to set XML character encoding for a SOAP response?

    Hi,
    We're using Oracle J2EE web services,
    and are quite happy with them.
    However, it's a problem that we need to have
    characters outside the standard English alphabet
    in our service responses. So far, we have not been
    able to find a way to specify what encoding to use.
    Our version (9.0.3 release) produces SOAP-responses
    without any encoding specification in the XML header.
    Any ideas?

  • OSB: Attach SOAP Header for SOAP Fault

    Hi,
    Is there a way to return OSB SOAP Fault with custom SOAP Header?
    Currently, when SOAP Fault happens, SOAP Header is not returned. I would like to insert some elements in the SOAP header and return when SOAP Fault happens.
    Thanks.

    Hi Eric,
    Thanks for your tips. It was helpful!
    I've managed to insert custom SOAP header to a SOAP fault.
    In service error handler,
    1. Construct custom header and replace header variable content
    2. Replace body content with fault variable
    3. Reply with failure
    Thanks.

  • Can we edit SOAP Header for an Outbound ABAP Proxy message?

    Hi,
    Can we add some information such as dynamic configuration to the SOAP header for the outbound ABAP Proxy from ABAP report in SAP Application System?
    Regards,
    Praveen Gujjeti.

    Hi Praveen, have you found soulution for this? Can you share it with me?
    From here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/d6/49543b1e49bc1fe10000000a114084/content.htm
    The help described that:
    Set logging in the message header. This means that this message is logged even if logging is deactivated explicitly in the configuration. The logging information is part of the message header:
    ¡        <SAP:Logging>1</SAP:Logging>
    Activates logging explicitly.
    ¡        <SAP:Logging>0</SAP:Logging>
    Deactivates logging explicitly.
    So it means that we can edit SOAP header for outbound ABAP proxy. But i haven't find the correct method to do that.

  • PDF PO Release - XML Tags for the Header and Line Attachments

    Hi,
    I request you to please help me in finding out the XML tags for the PDF PO Release Header and Line Attachments? I tried to get the XML data by running the 'PO Output for Communication' program with the parameter as 'Debug' but its completing normally without giving me the XML data in the log file.
    Please help me in finding the XML tags for the PDF PO Release for the Header and Line Attachments.
    Thanks,

    Hi Kunal,
    Following syntax will get you the header and line level short and long text attachments.
    --Header short text attachments
    <?for-each:HEADER_SHORT_TEXT_ROW?>
         <?SHORT_TEXT?>
    <?end for-each?>
    --Header long text attachments
    <?for-each:/PO_DATA/HEADER_ATTACHMENTS/LONG_TEXT?>
         <?.?>
    <?end for-each?>
    --Line short text attachments
    <?for-each:LINE_SHORT_TEXT_ROW?>
         <?SHORT_TEXT?>
    <?end for-each?>
    --Line long text attachments
    <?variable@incontext:PoLnID;'PO_LINE_ID'?><?for-each:/PO_DATA/LINE_ATTACHMENTS/ID[. =$PoLnID]?>
         <?current()[$PoLnID]/preceding-sibling::TEXT[1]?>
    <?end for-each?>
    Also note that, while running the program in Debug mode for a particular PO/Release the status should be INCOMPLETE, otherwise you won't be able to see the XML tags.

  • How to include XML Prolog in BPEL SOAP message.

    Hi,
    I'm using SOA Suite 11g on WebLogic and have a BPEL Process in a composite application that is calling a third party SOAP Web Service.
    Whilst it is standard for a SOAP service to not care whether or not the SOAP message includes an XML Prolog (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>) this third party service rejects the message if the prolog is not included.
    Unfortunately the partner link in my BPEL process is not adding the prolog when invoking the service and I cannot get the third party service changed to accept messages without it.
    Does anyone know how I can make BPEL include the prolog in SOAP messages?
    Currently the SOAP message looks like this:-
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    <soap:Header/>
    <soap:Body>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    What I would like it to look like is this :-
    *<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>*
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    <soap:Header/>
    <soap:Body>
    </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi swigg,
    It's not the partnerlink input variable that I want to manipulate, it's the SOAP Envelope that the Partner Link generates when it is invoked.
    I know that you can manipulate the SOAP Header by adding properties to the Partnerlink but it's the Envelope that surrounds both the Header and the Body that I want to set the prolog on.
    It can be done in java and .NET (WCF) by setting a property on the SOAP Envelope class, but I can't see a way to do it for a partner link in BPEL which is a shame.
    To be honest it looks like Oracle have let me down here so I'll have to use some other technology to call this service which unfortunately plays into the hands of those that didn't think I should use Oracle's BPEL offering in the first place.
    Thanks.

    There is this $header variable which you should populate before calling the BS. What is the type of BS? If it is WSDL BS , Any Soap BS then above solution will work. I assume that yours is WSDL based BS and setting $header should resolve this issue.
    AnyXML and Messaging type BS services requires that you create proper pay load (setting $header will not work).
    There is also other actions Set Transport Headers {outbound request/inbound response} which can be used to set transport related headers but not soap headers.
