Xperia neo v ics update is available for india.
I am in b/w update process seems like it stuck at 2. Preparing - initialising... from n hour.
Tried again but still facing same prob.

For better performance, Suggest you to Format your SD card and uninstall every single app that was on GB and reinstall it with fresh updated applications from Play Store after upgrading to ICS.

Problems in Xperia Ray after ICS update

Hey I just updated my Xperia Ray to ICS..but after the update, the calibration of the accelerometer seems to have gone haywire...Whenever i am browsing through my gallery the screen does not change its orientation automatically (auto screen orientation is enabled)..and if in some video or photo it goes into the landscape mode, it does not revert back to the potrait mode when I change orientation of the phone...Please help...
Also, there is no face unlocking feature in the update (India)..any ideas??

Neo V ICS Update via Bridge for Mac on Snow Leopard

I am trying to update my "neo v" via "bridge for mac" on my mac mini (10.6.8 - snow leaopard)
I am connecting in MSC mode as Phone is not detected by Bridge in MTP mode
In MSC mode I do get the notification for ICS update however, after the Prepare stage it asks me to switch to MTP mode.
I do so and nothing happens.
I disconnect and try to reconnect in MTP mode and nothing happens
Please help/advise

ICS update problems

My phone did the ICS update Thursday night and along with most of the rest of you it had problems. Mainly just being plain slow and whenever returning to the Home screen is took over 20 sec to load. After try several different suggestions from the forms and Verizon tier 2 techs, I just did the factory reset (with the help of the VW tech).
Side Note: (make sure you backup your contacts with Backup Assist or some app and I even used a SMS backup app to save my text messages).
The phone runs great and pretty fast. My suggest is just bite the bullet and do the factory reset. Trust me I know it sucks but it really does make everything work correctly.
(I also opted to reload my apps instead of backing them up and restoring them. I found that allot of them were outdated anyway)

Phones will do that when plugged in, esp with cheap chargers.. it has to do with the voltage and coveting and the digitized screen. You can google if you want more indepth there
clear data out of dolphin,check for update? also read comments on the app maybe it sucks on ics

Found some severe issues with my Xperia mini after ICS update

Hi,
I am a application and game tester from India and i am using Xperia mini for 7 months, last month i have upgraded my mini with ICS. But the update is not so good as i am facing many problems after updating. I am listing few of my problems below, i dont know this is for my set or with all:
1. If i am forwarding any message and selects 'Add Recipient' option then the phone get stuck in the Contacts list and fails to respond the back button. Also on returning to Home screen and selecting message option after than then Contact list opens instead of Message and to rectify this issue i have to restart my mobile.
2. For my Calenders(i have sync with Facebook) there are lots of event marked on the days but on selecting the particular dates no name is displayed just blank tabs are displayed.
Please reply me is this the problem with all Xperia Minis(ICS)? or i am the lucky one . If this is with all then please fix the issues and make a new update available.

Hi guys, well as a matter of facts, yes, I have a similar problem, amongst other...
-This feature I use a lot: in GB, when i open conversation, on the top the contact`s name and phone appears, i tap on it and make the call, in ICS, when i tap on it, it opens Contact list from the begining, so i have to find the contact which i want to call. And on the end, back and menu buttons don`t work in that case (like toseefb2 problem), so i have to press the home button....
Maybe, just maybe this happens because i installed Skype, because, after its installation, when i wanted to send an SMS, it asked me which will the messaging app going to be used, Skype or Messaging. I`ve chosen the Messaging and my problem appeared. Only Contacts with picture can be called, and only if i tap the picture...
Please solve this, i don`t want to uninstall Skype, nevertheless, the phone should work regulary even with 3rd party apps.

After ICS update problems typing when plugged in, and battery life shortened, also Dolphin browser runs slow.

I did the update and even did a factory reset, and I am having
problems typing when plugged in to the wall charger, I get random keystrokes,
from all over the keyboard, not just the keys around the one i want to press.

Maps not working in my Neo after ICS update

If I open Maps in my phone. It does not load the map properly even though I am in Wifi and later on it says Maps not responding, do you want to wait or quit!!
Is anybody else also having this problem?
Yesterday my Wifi was also behaving wierd. It was not able to establish proper connection with my router but finally when I turned off my phone and swithced it on, it got rectified.

Go to Play Store, search for Google Maps and see if there's any updates available. If there is, install it and then start Maps again and check if the problem is gone.
If there is not update available, go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Google Maps > Uninstall updates. If 'Uninstall updates' is grayed out, tap on clear data instead and then try the app again.

My Xperia S (LT26i) firmware update problem and slowing problem

Hi, I have Xperia S (LT26i) and i tried to update my phone to 6.2.b.1.96 firmware using PC Companion bu couldn't accomplished. It gave a error after long pressing the volume down button and starting the firmware update process. So i had to turn back to old firmware. Secondly my phone is so slow. Facebook is opening approximately 20-25 secs. and gives "facebook is not responding" messages while using. Same is for telephone and browser. I factory resetted the phone a couple months ago and i dont want to reset the phone regularly. Can you give me an advice? Thanks in advance...

A clean update
Performing a system repair using PC Companion - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Issues in ICS update for Xperia Arc

I am using Xperia Arc. I have done the ICS update recently and I am totally disappointed with this update. The thing is some features already there in the 2.3.4 version of android is not there in ICS update.
When long press the power button ‘take screenshot’ option was there in the 2.3.4 but in ICS that option is not there.
I have seen the beautiful lock screen in ICS forums but it is missing in the ICS update
Music player is still same like 2.3.4 android version. I was expecting the custom equalizer as like Arc S . but it is not there in Arc ICS update
Google says recently opened apps will be displayed in the home screen in ICS. But its missing in the my ICS update.
Google says live and transformation effects are there in ICS but I am not able to see those things in my Xperia Arc after ICS update.
Kindly let me know is there any solutions for the above issues..

1. You take screenshot by long pressing power and volume down button (booth at same time) in ICS, thats how google has made it.
2. What beautiful lockscreen are you talking about? Sony has kept the lockscreen same because thats the lock screen many users are used to.
3. Yes music player is same. I have an Arc S, the music player is same. The music player with equalizer is in Xperia S not in Arc S.
4. Google never said any such things. You can see the recently opened apps by LONG PRESSING THE HOME BUTTON and can close them by Swiping it off the screen.
5. Once again Google didnt say any such thing. If you want to change transision effects and stuff use Apex Launcher instead of Sony's launcher. You can get Apex launcher for free from Play Store.

Xperia Neo media server doesn't work anymore with Sony Bravia TV after ICS update!

Xperia Neo (MT15i) updated from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431). I did not perform any reset (factory settings) after the update.
Media server does not work anymore with Sony Bravia TV KDL40-NX700. With 2.3.4 it worked correctly before.
When I start the media server on my Xperia Neo and try to view my photos on my Bravia TV it shows connection, I am also able to view different folders on the Smartphone but when it tries to load the photos in any folder on the Smartphone it stops working after a while. Feedback on TV is "cannot connect to media sever". The same procedure worked without any problems when using 2.3.4 before.
Is this a known issue and is there any solution for this?

Wow that is a new one, great find!
I wish I had tested that with my Ray, as I had used the media server feature quite a bit with my DirecTV receiver when on Gingerbread. But too late, it's on the way back to Sony to get rolled back to Gingerbread.
Too many other problems with ICS that have crippled my device.
1) Wi-Fi Hotspot does not work anymore
2) USB tethering does not work anymore
3) LED notification issues for incoming SMS
4) Dialer slow to load
5) HD Video recording skip frames and jitter.
6) Bluetooth AVRCP profile broke (can't use the play/pause button on my car stereo anymore)
If you have not done so take a look at the above features and see what you turn up.

After ICS Update of almost a month My Xperia Neo V is not booting, Once i switched on my bluetooth Device

After Official Sony ICS update 4.0.4, my neo v is not booting, once i turn on my bluetooth device. Can any one help me on this. I have tried all the possible ways to boot,. Bu finally everything ended with vains.

If you get some form of response (vibration, blinking LED etc) when you try to power it on then please try running a repair:
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

WIFI problem in NEO V after ics update.

I am facing some problem in wifi...After connected i am able to browse for some tym then it gets stuck n again after few secs it works... i don't knw what the problem but the connection isn't consistant....
