Xperia z gyroscope problem

Hi.please i need help.since the last update to 4.3 my gyroscope and proximity sensor are not working anymore.so the auto rotation and all games and apps that depends on gyroscope are useless.i have done the repair process on pc companion but still not working.note that there is no protective cover over the prox.sensor.

after updating the phone to jelly bean last time the gyro, accelerometer, compass all have stopped working. i have downloaded the function tester. And NO it still does not work.Went into the service menu to test. Did NOt work also.
tried backup and factory reset via PC Companion. Still NO GO.Updated to the new Kit Kat. STILL NO GO. FYI NO GO means the gyroscope, accellerometer and compass is not working after applying fix. All this happened during my phone is still withing the warranty period. Although I did report the issue in March 25 2014. i have a service request number 1-1151375485. honestly there have been several cases in which your support team is still unable to provide a fix in relation to this issue.==================================================

MayOkay - it's a little late for me to join the party - however - "me too"!!
I've googled and better googled this, and found that there are similar problems with other Android devices (Nexus 7 particularly) - but thought I must be the only one with this issue on my trusty Xperia Z.
HOWEVER
Mine won't even calibrate!!
Gyroscope calibration - "FAILED! Please retry with following a product instruction - Error code = -1"
Accel calibration - "FAILED! Please retry with following a product instruction - Error code = -1"
Proximity calibration - FAILED! Please retry or your phone may not support this function - Error code = -98"
Further info - worked fine on the latest firmware - 10.4.1.B.0.101 for a few months - decided to wipe and re-install as phone was running sluggish (due to amount of installed junk!!) - after the re-install, this is what I get.
Other sensor apps say "waiting for device" on the sensors.
So - having previously run custom ROMs on other devices, decided to have a look at the system logs.
E/cal_data_manager(27964): Self-Test:ERR-Failed to enable accel
E/cal_data_manager(27964): Self-Test:ERR-Failed to enable gyro
E/cal_data_manager(27964): Self-Test:ERR-Failed to enable compass
A whole bunch of:
E/Sensors ( 851): HAL: ERR open file " " to read with error 2 (I added the quotes here for ease of reading)

and....
E/Sensors ( 774): HAL:unknown compass id ©@@ÉÄDr@/─p☻ -- params default to ak8975 and might be wrong.
(this is just using USB debugging, and looking at logcat)
Re-installation of firmware has NOT fixed the issue, and the device will NOT re-calibrate. From the research I've done, and from the info I've read - it's because a small part of the filesystem (which is used to reference the sensors) is now corrupted - so it doesn't know what the sensors (or WHERE the sensors) are at.
So what IS wrong? How do we fix? With full access to the filesystem (i.e. root) I'm confident it'd be doable, but my linux knowledge lies more with basic admin than something like this!
Can I also please urge anyone with this, or who has previously had this, to comment, or at least 'me too' the post? I suspect it's probably wider-spread than we'd think...

I will do everything in my power to influence people around me (to say the very least) that your product is no good. I mean if we have access to Google then its not a problem to convince people. All the phones problems is being addressed online and most of the fix is provided NOT by your technicians. And I am very dissatisfied with your customer service. Such bad service. Left me hanging because i could not get my phone fix within the warranty period.
This specific phone problem has never been addressed and rectified properly. NOT even your support staff can provide a solution via an internet fix. you can Google it. I mean the 3 main sensor (gyroscope,accelerometer, compass) defect issue is well known and you did not even try to have a fix for it? So yes. I hope that having me wasting my precious time writing this heart-aching dissatisfaction for purchasing the SONY XPERIA Z phone MAC 2013 with an issue that no solution is provided will produce a much better brain fart for you guys to have a fix for me and other people with good customer service. I mean. I will post this on every android community forum with print screen. SO yes. Please adhere to our request. Addressing it as it was your CEO's personal phone and rectifying it if not you should come up with a better solution. So **bleep** YOU SONY FOR MAKING MY LIFE MISERABLE. I have copied this complaint and will definitely post this on android community forum.

Gyroscope Problem

My gyroscope works on apps, but doesn't work on safari. Please help.

I assume you are talking about that the screen does not rotate. Since it work for other apps it would appear to be a software problem. I would:
- Go to Settings>Safari and delete cookies, history and cache.
- Reset iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

New Xperia Z1 wifi problem 14.4.A.0.108 (Multiple access points)

Hi,
I recently got a replacement Xperia Z1. This phone was immediately updated to the latest firmware (ending with 108) so I do not know if this problem existed prior to the update.
My problem is that the phone thinks it's still coneected to a wireless network even when it's not which prevents the phone from reconnecting when in range of a new network.
When it's working it looks like this: (same signal strenght in both the top bar and the settings)
When it's not working it looks like this (sifferent signal strenghts when compring the settings and the top bar)
And I'm 15km away from my home network
To make it work again I only have to turn off wifi and then turn it on again.
This screen shows for about 10 seconds when the problem has occured (instead of usually 1-2 seconds)
I've already tried to reset and reinstall the firmware. Is this an hardware error or has this something to do with the latest update?

An Update:
I've found that this problem only occurs on networks with multiple Access Points and when the phone is switching from on AP to another.
If the problem occurs the network stays "connected" even though I leave the area as described in my first post.

I found this article by @digitaltrends on Twitter as I'm researching the Sony Xperia Z2. I hope these issues have been address, especially WiFi dropping. I'm interested in the Z2 because of the Noise Canceling feature, now I will have to do more research to find out which phone is more stable (even though it's a software thing).
Can anyone with xperince with Z1, Z2, Z3 which they feel is the most stable for daily usage and heavy videoing projects? Realiability being the key?

Random crash and gyroscope problems (Iphone iOS 6.1)

Since the last iOS update (6.1). I have experienced a few problems with my Iphone 5.
First of all the day that i updated the iOS, i started getting random crashes.The screen dimmed and 2 or 3 yellow vertical lines appeared, and short after the Iphone restarted itself. The crash was happening mostly when opening the camera or any app that used the camera, but it will also restart by just browsing through the home screen (less likely). Then i noticed that some apps that use the gyroscope where locking up (like panorama 360), and a message telling me to restart the iphone because the gyro was locked up (i checked pressing home twice and the gyro wasn't locked). After the restart i worked for about 15 minutes, and the gyro would stuck up again (and the crashes were getting worse). I decided to do a factory recovery, and it solve most of the problems, but i still get 1 or 2 crashes everyday (maybe more, because i dont know if the cellphone restarts when it is in my pocket) (and it now doesnt restart by using the camera), and the gyroscope sometimes works fine, and very few times it stucks up, so i close the app that uses it, lock the gyro, give the phone a few shakes, put the gyro back on and it works again.
I'm trying to simulate the moments that the phone crashes or when the gyro stucks up, but i can't, it is just very random.
PD: The phone worked perfectly with iOS 6.0.1, could be a software problem? hardware problem?
PD2: i have used linpack to stress the phone but it doesnt crash or anything.

The last two day i haven't experienced crashes but sometimes the gyro stucks.

IPhone 6 Gyroscope Problem?

Does anyone have an idea about the following problem?
I have an iPhone 6 128GB . The gyroscope doesn't seem to be working properly all the time. Sometimes when the screen rotates to the side it will not rotate back when the phone is moved. Also when I take pictures it automatically rotates them to the side. It's incredibly annoying. I don't know if this is a bug in iOS eight that will be eventually worked out? Or is this a problem with my phone and I need to take it in? Thanks for any advice

I have the same problem with the gyroscope/orientation locking on my iPhone 6. I've tried a hard reset, a soft reset, changing my view to standard, etc. Nothing seems to work to correct this problem. It seems like a lot of people are having this issue, and I'm afraid it's a hardware issue. I'm going into the Apple Store tomorrow to see if they'll exchange it.

Xperia z1 touchscreen problems

When scrolling down randomly zoom in or highlighting!?? When playing games after few minutes unable to move or aim. It does register single touch but when i try to draw a line, after few cm cuts off. This is very annoying!!!

Xperia z1 compact problem restoring

Hello. I've bought new sony xperia z1 compact but it has a serious problem. Every time I plug it in (to charge) it restores. The promo video keeps playing again and again, my wallpaper disappears and sets default and the worst thing is that all my photos I took before are deleted. (photos from whatsapp and messenger remain, music remains and gmail, whatsapp and viber remain logged in) All this used to happen when I plugged the mobile to charge but the last time it happened itself suddenly.Please, can you tell me what it is caused by and what can I do about it? In this moment I do not reside at the same place I bought the phone at so I am not able to return it. Thank you very much.

XPERIA Z1 touchscreen problems while getting hot

Hi guys, I'm the owner of the Xperia Z1 for 2 months, and if I play demanding games, phone is getting hot, I know it's normal, BUT, when the phone is really hot, touchscreen have some problems, when I drawing lines, something interrupts my drawing, and when I'm moving in games which need to hold the thumb on screen, sometimes it interrupts too, I read a lot of forums about Z1 touchscreen problem, but i dunno it is software problem or hardware O.o plz help.

Android Xperia Z sound problem

Good evening everyone.
I decided to buy the sony xperia Z yesterday in the hope that Spotify would work well on it.
I've i stalled spotify, downloaded for offline play one of my playlists and started playing the music.
I noticed straight away that as soon as I press play on a song, it starts as normal, and after a second of playing, it kind of pops/cracks and then the sound quality changes. I'm guessing it is the xperia's EQ kicking in.
Once the pop/crack has happened, after that it is perfect as It should be....
This happens when I start a song, fast forward a song, or skip a song.
I have reset all phone settings but this hasn't worked....
I have tried the Walkman app on the phone, aswell as playing samples of songs on the google music store, and it is perfect, so the problem is only with spotify.
I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue?
Also, do you think it is an android software bug or is it a Spotify software bug?

HEY!!! I FOUND A SOLUTION!!!
I had the exact same problem with my Xperia S, that whenever i played a new song, forward etc..It would sound too high, and then the EQ comes in. Anyway, id you go to Spotify settings, and disable EQ it won't work.Maybe you already found a solution, or maybe you no longer have a Xperia handset, but for those that still have this problem, here's how to solve it:1-Go to main menu2-Go to settings3-Go to apps/applications4-Go to "all" tab Note: This is the file you need to select if you have a Xperia handset, if you have this problem with any other cellphone brand, you will have to find out which is the correct one.5-Find a file/app called "sound enhancements".6-Tap on it and disable it. Now you can play music with Spotify without any issues.*Important Note*For Xperia handsets if you want to use the EQ on Walkman again, it's going to crash, for that do the same procedure and enable "sound enhancements". Hopefully this will help some one. If it helped you, please reply my commment, just to let me know that it worked for you, and what cellphone brand you have.

Sony Xperia Z3 screen problem

Hello, I have my Sony Xperia Z3 from 4 months and now, after the update of the system I have big problem . My screen doesn't work normally. When i try to touch it, on the screen appears black lines, green and purple spots. I didn't dropped, , neiher make it wet. I tried to repair the phone with Pc Companion but it doesn't work. Xperia ZL battery problem

My Xperia ZL have an strange battery behaviour. It started with a crazy battery indicator, for example, sometimes it is showing 75% of battery, then I start to use some app, and the battery drains to 50%, but right after I close de app, the battery shows 63%. So I've never been able to know how my battery is going for sure. Sometimes it is showing 35%, then I just use some app for a few minutes, the battery goes to 15% and suddenly the phone turns off. But when I reboot it, it is showing 30% again.
To charge the phone's battery, I must have luck, because it looks like the phone choose when it would like to charge the battery. The problem turns worst when the battery drains totally. The battery simply doesn't charge, the phone turns on and off constantly. When I plug the battery charger, the LED indicator glows a weak red light, then the "SONY XPERIA" appears, and then the phone turns off, the cycle repeats if I let the battery charger plugged in, back to the weak red light.
Does anyone here had the same problem with Xperia ZL? Does a simple battery change might resolve this issue?

Ok thanks, but if you noticed the second paragraph of my post, I just CAN'T turn on my phone because it's turning on and off repeatedly when I plug in the battery charger. So, the "restarting and resetting" solution is useless to me, because my phone simply won't turn on! Please pay attention to the part I said "The battery simply doesn't charge, the phone turns on and off constantly. When I plug the battery charger, the LED indicator glows a weak red light, then the "SONY XPERIA" appears, and then the phone turns off, the cycle repeats if I let the battery charger plugged in, back to the weak red light."

Xperia Z tethering problem

Have windows 7 64 bit and Sony Pc Companion installed , works 100% locates my device.
MTP works 100% locates both internal drive and SD card.
However the minute i connect my USB cable in MTP mode and I activate USB Tethering it the connection CRASHES!!!
My Phones USB thethering works 100% in my laptop tho using windows 8 pro.
Can anyone help. I even right clicked on Xperia Z1 folder , to establish or connect the deviice but that also "NOT Responding"

Do you mean that the USB connection crashes or is it the tethered Internet connection that crashes?
Both MTP drivers and tethering drivers are provided with your OS, so you want to try running a Windows update or check if these drivers can be downloaded separately.

Xperia Z1 Mic problem. please help

i have a mic issue on my xpeira z1.
1. low playback volume on voice massages and low recording volume. (tested on whatsapp and wechat)
2. very low recording volume and very low playback volume on diagnost test. (tested on Xperia Z1 diagnostic app)
3. the mic works fine during phone calls. (tested on normal phone calls)
im running on andriod lollipop 14.5.A.0.270
please help i dont know weather is a faulty mic or a software issue.
i did not drop my phone or emerge in to deep water !

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 illumination problem

One of the four exterior LED illumination sets appears to have failed. I've used plenty of Sony Ericsson phones, and this is the first to ever have a problem (probably because it was the only one manufactured by HTC).
Any other X1 owners on agoraquest that have had a similar problem?
