Xw4300 Windows 7 64-bit install

Hello everyone,
We are trying to put Win 7 64 bit version on the xw4300 workstation. Everything goes great until the installtion is finalizing and the drivers are installing, then the system halts with a parity error.
Just wondering if anyone has successfully done this install and, if so, what, if anything did you do to get this to work.
Thank you,
Keegan

I had the same problem. I installed Windows 7 and after installation I checked the Device Manager under the control panel system. I saw that the USB hub was fine so I installed a USB WIFI adapter and was able to connect to the internet over my local network. I then went to the Control panel and activated the UPDATE for Windows 7. When connected to the UPDATE site select the custom option. It will take a while but 158 updates were found. Hardware, software and security files were selected and after several hours, all the updates were installed. I then checked the Device manager again and all hardware drivers were installed except the Realtech audio driver. It seems that Windows 7 will automatically install the drivers for Broadcom, ATI, Nvidia etc. After that I went to Realtech and installed the audio driver. All was well and everything functioned as intended.

windows 7 64-bit installation error on brand new ST9750420AS Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in HP Envy 15
I installed a brand new ST9750420AS  Momentus 3Gb/s 750-GB Hard Drive in my HP Envy 15 laptop, and I was getting an error in the last installation step of Windows 7, 64-bit, ultimate, indicating that Windows could not support or be installed on the computer hardware.  It turns out that the drivers for the new internal hard drive, need to be installed/loaded during the initial windows install.
the drivers that ended up working are available from intel at:
    RST Driver Files v.10.1, 64-bit
the steps that are requires are:
    1) download the f6flpy-x64.zip file above, and unzip to a usb pen-drive
    2) when installing windows 7, in the configure option of the volumes, even if windows appears to recognize the drive, it is recommended to delete all existing volumes (Advanced options), and then LOAD DRIVER, and BROWSE to the usb pen-drive, while indicating to only list drivers that are compatible with the hardeware.  here is quick list of similar steps with diagrams.
    3) in this case the compatible driver name is "INTEL MOBILE EXPRESS CHIPSET SATA RAID CONTROLLER¨
    4) continue to configure volumes, and installing windows 7,
    5) everything should work fine.

  • Hp officejet pro l7590 windows 7 32-bit install fails

I have downloaded the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver for windows 7 (32-bit) for my Officejet Pro L7590 connected by USB cable to my computer.  I right-click on the downloaded software and select "Run as Administrator".  The installation hangs at step 7 of 8 and then shows me that the L7590 printer driver failed to install.  When I look in my "Printers And Devices" I see the HP L7590, but right-clicking on it only shows scanner functions (no printer options). And no option to remove printer.
I have tried uninstalling the HP Software and reinstalling the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver as well I have tried installing the HP Officejet Pro Basic Print and Scan Driver from HP, all with the same failed results.
The only way I am able to use the printer is to uninstall all HP software and simply plug the USB cable to my computer.  Then a printer driver is loaded and I can print.  The problem is that I do not get the "Solution Center" functionality which I need for scanning.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Lou

Just so we get off on the right foot, I am going to have you run through the un-instillation and re-installation of the printer again, but in a thorough and managed way. I would like to ask for information's sake if the PC you are using is a HP computer or another manufacturer. This may be useful in future steps if they are necessary. We will want to remove the PnP drivers (the ones that automatically loaded) as well.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3643...
Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!

  • (SOLVED) Can't Connect Wiimote after Windows 7 64-bit install (T61p)

Hello. I have a T61p that originally had Vista 32-bit on it. I used to use my Wiimote as a gamepad, I'd just have to press the sync button and it would work with the computer. Since I installed Windows 7 64-bit though, it won't. I've turned the Bluetooth adapter on and off with Fn-F5 several times.
I tried BlueSoliel and it worked yesterday but not today. Also it is an evaluation copy, and I do not plan on buying the full product.
edit: okay I uninstalled BlueSoliel and installed the 64 bit Vista driver and I can connect the Wiimote to the computer, however, it won't register any buttons being pressed, and when I go the the Game Controller Test screen it is empty.
edit2: I forgot you need to use GlovePIE. Seems to be working fine now. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.

No problem, thanks for posting your fix.

  • Windows 7 64 bit installed as 32 bit?

I installed iTunes on a Windows 7 64 bit system. I used the link to the 64 bit installer. However, when iTunes installed, it put the program in the x86 directory and in the Task Manager, it is shown as running in 32 bit mode.
Also, I pinned the application to the task bar. But when I launch iTunes, it creates a second instance in the task bar for the version that is running.
Is this how it is supposed to behave or is there a way to fix this?

I also have these issues/problems. The first being that the iTunes 7 64-bit installation doesn't install a 64-bit program, and secondly that iTunes doesn't properly 'stack' a running instance of iTunes onto the pinned iTunes launcher. (when a pinned program is running, the icon is supposed to change appearance. but iTunes puts another icon beside the launcher instead.)
I was able to fix the second problem. In my setup, I have iTunes pinned to the taskbar. I opened iTunes so that the two icons appear beside each other like they're not supposed to. I right-clicked the icon that was newly opened and chose "pin this program to the taskbar" or something similar. I then right-clicked the older of the two icons and chose "unpin this program from the taskbar". I now have just the one, fully functional icon on the taskbar.

  • A665-S5170 WiFi Not Working After Windows 7 32 Bit Install

I had to put a new hard drive in my A665-S5170. Since there were drivers listed for Windows 7 32 bit for this computer, I installed a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit that I owned. After installing every driver listed, I have no wifi. Another forum I was reading suggested it was because someone with the identical problem had not installed a driver for their chipset, and there is no chipset driver listed, but there is one for the 64 bit version.
When I look at Device Manager, I see the "!" by "network controller."
    Any suggestions?

It was apparently not intended to run 32-bit Windows on that model. But probably this driver works.

Tried a battery removed CMOS clear and reset after the UEFI/BIOS update? Tested with another PSU? Tried with just one RAM stick in the primary dimm slot, or with just two sticks?
    Results
1 Stick DDR3 - Freezes in "Starting Windows" screen when video card (HD 7850) installed.  Still works correctly with Integrated.
1 Stick DDR3 + swapping out CoolerMaster 500 Watt PSU for "Power" 500 Watt PSU - Freezes in "Starting Windows" screen with video card.  Using Integrated video, works correctly.

  • Windows 8 64-bit install on 970a-g46 Mainboard AHCI and NVIDIA DRIVER issues

    My Box:
    MSI 970A-G46
BIOS 1.9  (AUG 2012) (Tried 1.11 but the nightmare started then)
AMD FX-6100 (STOCK SPEED AND SETTINGS) WITH OEM HSF
    16GB PATRIOT VIPER 3 (1866) RUNNING @ (1600)
USED an EVGA 9800GT 1ST AND UPGRADED TO NVIDIA REFERENCE CARD GTX 550 Ti (1GB) WITH SAME ISSUES
90gb MonsterDigital Daytona SATA III SSD DRIVE (OS and minimal programs)
    Antec HE 550
I am at a point of pulling my hair out. I decided to upgrade my system to enhance Diablo III game play. I got a combo deal on the mainboard and cpu, and thought the speed of the game caching on a SSD would also help. The first attempt which took a little struggle was Vista 64-bit. Eventually, I was able to get the OS to work with me, and it was smooth.  Since M$ decided to offer the Windows 8 Pro upgrade for only $39.99, I thought, what do I had to lose. Well….lots of time. Now, I am not a newbie, though SSD drives haven’t been more than an interesting thought. So yes, I read many guides on everything from Trim enabled Win 7 and 8, and many other do’s and don’ts. What is driving me to the Netherlands of hell, is the installation and how buggy it has been. It boils down to drivers for the IDE/SATA/AHCI CONTROLLER. First, even thought it “sees”  the SSD on installation drive selection, after pulling the USB installation drive, the system forgets it, and there is a “problem with the boot sector”. If you load the driver from the AMD site, it lets the install occur “fine”, but there is an issue with that driver which causes an irq conflict which leads to D3 audio issues and freeze ups. I did finally get things in order (not sure which driver I choose for that), and things were smooth, except I tried to install the GTX 550 ti and that led to a corrupt file error, which the system runs a check disk and cycles the “preparing to repair” and “diagnosing PC” a few times and never allows me to enter SAFE MODE (shift+f8), to disable the NVIDIA driver that is buggy, and doesn’t allow for the NVIDIA Control Panel to install without losing video, and starts the repair cycles again… Leading to ANOTHER RE-INSTALL...
My question, for the Windows 8 Pro installation on the 970a-G46 mainboard and then after install is complete, which driver is the correct choice for the AHCI/SATA Controller?  All I find is Win7 64-bit AHCI inf’s, and SB7XX 64-bit inf’s (no SB950 INF). The Driver disk which came with the mainboard is very dated pre Win 8 stuff, ASMEDIA X106 which are not recognized by the OS as written for Win 8. AMD’s latest drivers are the ones causing the IRQ type lags and corruption.
What version, build and type of Windows 8 installations have you used on this mainboard, and what drivers allowed you install it without the above conflicts? Your input may decrease my insanity… So, thank you in advance…

I understand what you are telling me,  only the generic drivers deliver subpar results. What is the point of running those drivers instead of windows 8 certified drivers written for said devices. My last install is functioning better, but still windows update fails every attempt, the apps i install (ie. weather bug) on the start screen wont load... to me windows 8 is a big fail....but that is just my view...
OK...I also own the 970a G46, and my upgrade experience from Win7 x64 AHCI to Win8 x64 AHCI was flawless the first time.  No problems at all.  You are running an AMD chipset board with a nVidia gpu, which means that your chipset drivers are not automatically updated with every gpu driver update you do--this would happen automatically if you owned an AMD gpu because AMD includes them in its gpu driver install packages.  But--all you have to do to get the proper drivers for your motherboard is go here and download them.  You only need the *chipset drivers* from this page--you do not need the RAID drivers, of course.  That's it.  It's no big deal, and back in the days when nVidia was making motherboard chipsets you had to separately download both the motherboard chipset drivers from nVidia and the AMD gpu drivers from AMD if you did not also own a nVidia gpu.
From your description of your problems it sounds like your installation of Win8 is hosed and you need to format C:\ and clean install from scratch, anyway, so...
A note about AHCI--the *ideal* way to install the AHCI drivers is prior to installing your OS for the first time, you enter the UEFI and set "AHCI" in the appropriate place, instead of IDE, and *then* you reboot from DVD and install your OS which will automatically install the correct AHCI driver from Windows.  After the driver installation is complete you should then install the updated 970a drivers from AMD as linked above.
However, it is actually very easy to activate and install AHCI *after* you have installed Windows in normal IDE mode:
To enable AHCI in existing Windows 8 IDE Installation's
Caution: Do NOT enable AHCI in UEFI prior to making the following changes in your Registry! If you had AHCI enabled alreadyin UEFI, disable it first and restart your computer!
Use WinKey + R and type Regedit in the command line and hit the Enter key, this will open the Registration Editor.
    Go to:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/iaStorV
right click on Start, select Modify and set Data Value to 0
Close Registration Editor and restart computer.
While booting,  open the UEFI Page and set the SATA Mode to AHCI from IDE
    Save UEFI settings and restart.
Windows will now install the AHCI drivers automatically and they should work without issues.
In order to avoid installation problems just like you have been experiencing, here is what I would do in your shoes:
    1) Set UEFI for normal IDE drive mode
    2) Reboot into IDE mode and install your OS
    3) After you have finished with the installation, you should be having no troubles in IDE mode.  Then go to the instructions above on how to properly enable AHCI *after* you have installed Windows 8 in normal IDE mode.
    4) After everything is coming up roses in AHCI mode and you are having no problems, then install the AMD chipset drivers as linked above and you are golden.
Those 4 steps worked perfectly for me the first time (the first time I got them right, that is...).
There's nothing wrong with Win8--this is strictly operator error caused by insufficient research into what AHCI is and how to properly enable it.  The Internet has some bad info on Win8 registry settings for AHCI because of the developer preview and the consumer preview versions of Win8 that Microsoft released to the public prior to the final shipping build--many "instructions" for Win8 are therefore not valid for the shipping version of Win8.  At first I made some of the same goofs that you did, but now you get to benefit from my hard-won experience...  Good luck! Should work like a charm. And, registry AHCI is done differently in Win8 than it is done in Win7 or Vista.  Also, the registry settings relative to AHCI in Windows 8 for AMD are different from the registry values that must be changed for an Intel controller.
Parenthetically, My FX-6300 (Vishera) will be here in a couple of days! Yeah!

Oracle does not use Windows install/uninstall technology, so you won't see anything about oracle under windows add/remove program.
SQL Developer and SQL*Plus are both 'client applications' They both use the same underlying oracle client infrastructure. So sqlplus itself is not necessary for SQL Developer to work.
Oracle ODBC drivers do not install by default. You have to do a custom install and specify them. I've never really investigated everything that IS installed by default, so my standard client installation is a two-pass. First I install the runtime or admin client, as needed. Then, if ODBC is needed I do a custom install, make sure I've specified the same oracle base, oracle home and installation directory as the original, and select only ODBC.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? I would Really appreciate it thank you.

It sounds that the Microsoft Installer does not like the optical drive inside of your Mac.
Do you have access to an external DVD drive?
If yes, try the Windows 7 install with an external DVD drive.
If no, try to install Windows 7 from a USB drive.

  • Windows 7 64 bit Install Issues

Hello every one. I am trying to dual boot Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my Mac Pro. I have used the Boot Camp Assistant to partition a whole hard drive for Windows 7, but when I try and install the software the computer restarts and I get a black screen with white text saying to "Select CD-Rom Boot Type", but I can't do anything from that screen. The drive is in FAT32 format, in port 2 and has a 500 GB capacity. I'm using Boot Camp Assistant version 3.0.4. Help would be much appreciated.

You guys missed the important parts
    1. FAT is what BOOTCAMP is and does
    2. OP has 'unsupported' Mac Pro
    3. You can't boot from Win7 64-bit without reburning DVD after modifying it as an ISO
    4. To use two processors you will want Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate;
to use more than 1.9GB RAM you need 64-bit
s and I get a black screen with white text saying to "Select CD-Rom Boot Type", but I cannot

That is common, old, well-known issue.
I agree you don't need BCA and must pull other drives.
But this has nothing to do with not having NTFS, that comes later in the game.

  • Windows 7 64 bit install of Toshiba X205-SLi5 ?

Does this laptop support the 64 bit version of Windows 7 ?
Has anyone done a clean install of Windows 7 on a new ionternal hard drive ?
Thanks for the help in advance.
    Dave

If Toshiba provides 64bit drivers then the entire system is definitely 64bit capable and compatible.  The Intel 965 chipset is DEFINITELY 64bit as I'm running 64bit XP Pro on it at the moment and have had 64bit Vista, Win Se7en, and Linux running on it in the past.
While it's true that the difference between 32bit and 64bit with only 4gig of ram is negligible when running 32bit applications, that will change once actual 64bit apps become available.   The apps that you mention will run on 64bit Win 7 with no problem.  Any commercially available 32bit app should run fine under 64bit W7.  It's mainly special apps written specifically for a particular company or older 16bit apps that have problems under 64bit.
Printers, scanners, and other external devices might have a problem though.  Be sure to check on each of these types of devices that you might use.  A lot of people forget that part of the equation.  Who want's to replace an expensive and perfectly functional device because there aren't any 64bit drivers for it when it runs fine in 32bit.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.
