Yahoo email account synchronisation on mac mini
Hi I have been struggling to get my yahoo email account on my mac mini I can get the email on my iPad it did work on my mac mini. But now it does not... any ideas.?..

for the past month I haven't been able to access my yahoo email account via my ibook. I can access it from any computer accept for my mac. I've written yahoo and they sent me a six page document that's completely useless. I can log into my email account but I can't view the emails or compose a message.

Cannot access yahoo email account when I have been able for 6 years.
I am unable to log into my yahoo email account on my Mac OS X. This is very sudden. I have been able to for 6 years. I CAN access on a PC. I have never had this problem. I have never set up the mail program on Mac OS X.
No, it will not affect anything but Safari. I do this regularly anyway (in my case with Firefox because I prefer it over Safari). The cache remembers websites you've visited and, when internet connections were slow, then that was handy because the browser would reload the page from memory instead of reloading it fresh. With faster internet connections today, it is no longer of the same importance - it does speed up things a bit initially, but I haven't noticed any difference. Cookies are set by every site you visit - the only ones you might want to keep are cookies from your bank, financial institution, etc so they remember your machine when you log in. Other than that, they are a marketing tool and completely superfluous. And history is again something the computer remembers that you've visited a site before.

We just purchased our first Ipad. It is a mini with retina display 16 GB. How do I go back a page? I see no arrows to page back. Also when I log into a yahoo email account and open an email I see now way to log out? Thank you for any help
In Safari, (the web browser), there are specific arrows to go back and forward through website pages.
In other Apps, it will depend on how the App is built.
As to Yahoo Mai it depends on where you are viewing the email. If you are using the Mail App, then you don't log out. The Mail accounts in the Mail App are always there.
If you are using the Yahoo App, You can Tap on the folder at the top, then on your account/name, and then on Sign Out. -
my BT yahoo email account doesn't accept my password when my Mac tries to access it using mac mail but when I access My BT Yahoo via Safari it accepts the password.
When it doesn't accept the password from Mail , it can be things other than the password actually.
It could be their Server, which is contacted differently than through WebMail, it just means the Server listening on this port, (or not listening), is not finding your username & password.

Can't seem to set up my kids yahoo email accounts on their new iPad minis. Keep getting a message saying they can't access the yahoo server. Addresses and passwords are correct. No verification emails show up either.

followed your instructions ok, but at end of restoring got an error message. now the ipad is frozen on the screen with the apple and the 'search' icon constantly turning. i've shut down my mac desktop and upon trying to reconnect i am getting an 'unknowno error message (0xE8000065)
My iMac desktop and ipad2 is very new and I'm still getting used to apple in general, so hopefully other users may help me from experience as right now i'm lost.

How do you stop Notes on an iPhone 4S disappearing and ending up in your Yahoo email account Notes?
I have been doubting my sanity! Items held in Notes seem to disappear at random. I have established from the ASC that missing Notes are sometimes moved to the Notes folder of your Yahoo email account and much to my relief I have found them there. Is it possible to stop this happening? If so how do you do it? I cannot see anything in Settings/Notes and when I turn off Notes in Settings/Mail all my Notes disappear!
MobileMe works fine for me but you don't need a MobileMe account. You need an IMAP account.
Although a POP account can be accessed with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only. You can't store Sent messages on the server, keep mailboxes synchronized between multiple email clients used to access the account, more than one email client cannot access the incoming mail server for a POP account at the same time or near the same time because the incoming mail server will lock the account's inbox mailbox preventing access for a period of time.
None of this is an issue or problem with an IMAP account which is designed to be accessed with multiple email clients. I keep the Mail.app on my Mac launched and running checking my MM account which has a junk mail filter. Any received message that is automatically marked as junk and is moved to the account's Junk mailbox stored on the server is reflected automatically when checking the account with the iPhone's Mail client since all server stored mailboxes for the account are kept synchronized, which isn't possible with a POP account. -
Can not attach photos using Yahoo email account
I am new to the Mac OPS and maybe it is just something that I do not know, but why can't I attach photos to an email using my Yahoo email account? I have read the way to change the preference of email providers, ie: entourage or mac mail. But I have neither accounts. I was just wondering if there was a way to do this, or if the program could be updated so that it could be possible.
Yahoo email is a service not an application. If you have the Pro version of this service then you can set it to work with one of the applications in the iPhoto preferences. Otherwise you'll need to use one of these:

For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:

If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

I can't log in to my Frontier email account from my ipad mini. It goes to mg.mail.yahoo.com but the page stays white.
I've been with this service for nearly 2 years now and the problems just mount up. I had an account for close to 2 years on EE itself which suddenly does not exist. Advised by customer service agents to 'Sign up' for a new one. Try signing up, get to enter Bank account details - can only put in 4 digits. In what millenia were bank account numbers only 4 digits long? Why am I wasting an hour of my time fault finding for your developers? I should charge you £50 a hour for this waste of my time. Fire your project manager for this new website revamp, fire the developers and get someone in who can transition accounts from one system to another without destroying the whole user experience. Absolute disgrace, don't message me about Apps and how I should log in to my account for offers when I can't do any of that. I would advise anyone new to EE here to cancel your account within the 14 day grace period, you'll have neverending issues from fake data charges, extortionate roaming costs, somehow paying for data when on Wifi and much more.

HELPtry deleting and readding your yahoo accounts. Yahoo has been upgrading their servers for months now, and have been effecting users' accounts as they do so. I have two yahoo accounts and have had each of them mess up for a day or two before they start working again.
Chances are the issue is on yahoo's end. When mine messed up I simply accessed the mail via the web and safari until it cleared up. -
iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2 stopped receiving mail yesterday. Have yahoo email account. Can still send emails. Have turned device off/on. Have done the dual off/on thing using top button and menu button. Issue seems to be only with main inbox, as sub folders are receiving mail. Other Apple device is not having issues like this, just on iPhone.

Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app. -
Since updating Firefox browser, i am unable to gain access to my yahoo email account. I can access the email with Interent Explorer with no trouble. Whenever I click on a mail link on the yahoo sites to check my mail, I get rerouted to an error page ..... "Sorry, we can't find "ca.mg4.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.gx=1". Please check the spelling of the web address." is what is said at top of page whenever I click on any mail links.
This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.
