Yahoo Messenger does not work in 1.4

Several things fixed in 1.4 including clock speed but now my Yahoo messenger will not connect to server. It just keeps trying to connect ("Signing In...')
I also had several sms messages and a voicemail indication not come through until I recycled the phone.
My camera and video camera do work though.

I have the same issue on my phone and my wife's. I doctored my phone and did a partial and a full erase and did no other configuration but go straight to Yahoo and add my messenger account and it just sits at signing in and nothing happens. Over at precentral this is a common problem. No matter what you do to the phone it won't work so it's not phone specific. It's either a problem in the 1.4 code (although there are similar reports in 1.3.5) or a problem with Synergy.

When I opened Yahoo Messenger for the first time, it asked to use my Contacts. I said no. It took about 3 minutes to finally connect to the internet and none of the names I typed appeared in the list, just their Yahoo IDs. I then went into Security and Privacy (System Prefs) and allowed it access to my contacts and the next time I logged in, the friends list looked exactly like it should. It didn't reduce the login time, however. It still takes about 3 minutes.

Firefox does not start a new message in Yahoo! mail?
I think you will need to set Firefox to use Yahoo! mail using the Options dialog. Please see this article for the steps: [[Change the program used to open email links]].
Does that work?
Or if you can't open Yahoo! mail at all, try going in through one of these addresses:

Note that many users have discovered problems with bookmarks they saved for the "old" Yahoo mail and need to update them to work with the "new" (neo) Yahoo mail.

Chat / Yahoo Messenger apps not working

Hi guys! I just got my E5-00 network unlocked form Orange Romania. Before that, everything worked great. Now, native Chat and Yahoo Messenger 2.20 are not working anymore (same for eBuddy or other apps like those) - it says Internet connection not available. However, when using Internet app, Facebook or Youtube, I am asked to choose the internet connection I want to use, but that doesnt happen for Chat or Yahoo Messenger. Please help

This sounds like a known issue reported here:

There was a workaround posted, but I've not tested it myself. Here are the steps.
# Go into Yahoo Messenger Options - Change the Window in the dropdown to Tab and press OK.
# Then go back and switch it to small window and press OK.
Once the bug is officially resolved, you could try running a Nightly or Aurora build to use the fix early.

Adding Work Exchange Profile, now Yahoo email does not work

Hi, my phone was setup to recieve my home rogers (now yahoo) email via the cell network (I usually have wifi turned off). A couple of days ago my work installed a profile so that I can connect to the corp exchange server. Once setup was was able to send and receive email from my corp exchange server, and I could see both accounts inboxes...however, now my home rogers account does not update. I have checked and both are sent to "push". Funny thing is, if I turn on wifi, my rogers account does work.
Can I not have them both get their email from the cell network?

Cannot load in box. Other folders (trash, sent etc.) load fine and are updated. Comcast email works fine. Have deleted, re-added yahoo, reset computer without help. Worked fine for months

Embedding pictures in Yahoo email does not work using firefox 3.6.8

I am using firefox 3.6.8. I cannot embed pictures using my yahoo email. Why? Embedding pics with IE works fine with yahoo, but firefox doesn't.
Can firefox even embed pics in yahoo email or is this a known bug?

the search box in yahoo mail is unresponsive. Had to open Yahoo mail in Chrome to do the search. I have the latest version of Firefox running on Vista.

BB Messenger does not work !

All my contacts are in PENDING Status ...I can not open a conversation !! What can I do?

Ok. Are we dealing with your friend's BlackBerry device or yours?
The friend could have issues if BBMessenger is blocked on his BES via an IT Policy. That might show that person as pending as your device.
For now, on yours, if we are dealing with troubleshooting it,
With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
You might even want to delete all of your BBMessenger contacts and readd them. Remember, only users with a BlackBerry can use this BBMessenger. Also, are you adding your contacts by PIN number?

Yahoo Messenger no longer works with 9.0

Yahoo messenger stopped working after upgrading to Firefox 9.0. Can see contacts, but cannot connect with them by clicking on them. Tried to restore Win XP Pro to two days ago, but Firefox crashes when accessed. Any suggestions.? Do I need to update any plugins, etc? Thanks for your help and support in this matter. Mike

Satellite Pro M30 Win 7 - webcam does not work on msn messenger

Hi all
I have a Satellite Pro M30 Modell Nr.: PSM35E and have just changed to Windows 7. But the Nvidia Card NVIDIA GeForceTM FX Go5200 Grafik mit 64 MB RAM does not work properly.
I could find a driver from Vista and installed it, have Aero pics on the desktop, but my webcam does not work on msn messenger and this is the only way for me to see my family.
Can someone help me?

Im a little bit confused; do you have some problems with the graphic card or with the webcam?
I assume you are speaking about external webcam connected to the USB port? Right?
What happens if you connect the webcam to the notebook? Can Win 7 recognize the connected device? Did you install additional drivers for this webcam?
In most cases its necessary to do that because I think its not plug & play device.

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

I have had the problem of Yahoo! mail freezing (my computer freezing) with Firefox right after I boot up my computer and sign into my Yahoo! mail account. I have to either shut down my computer or use Control + Alt and press Delete to eventually bring up the Task Manager option. Then, once the choice for Task Manager comes up, I can click on cancel and Yahoo! mail and my computer have "un-frozen." I have followed all the recommendations for updating Firefox, clearing caches, checking if an Add-On is the problem, etc., as well as all the recommendations on Yahoo! help pages. Nothing has improved the situation to date. Firefox info says the problem is with Yahoo! Yahoo! says it is a browser problem. I just want the problem to be fixed.

Download the yahoo email app, if you already deleted and reinstalled the email account and still have issue.
This is a known issue with Yahoo email account.

Yahoo email sync does not work

before posting this I searched the forums and tried all the solutions and they did not work. All solution were basically configurations adjustment.
I am using Bold 9700 on BIS. Yahoo email does not synchronize the messages when read or deleted from the desktop online account. But it works the other way around. (when I delelte or read a message from the web email it stays unread on the device and I have to go and delete it or mark it as read manually). it is very annoying that I have to do everything twice, specially that I am reveiving like 50+ emails every day in yahoo account only.
the email reconcilation configurations are
Delete on: Mailbox & Handheld
Wireless reconcile: On
On conflict: Mailbox wins
I called RIM and they said it should work 2-way, yahoo also it should work. I called Rogers, the tech support told me her device does like that. and all what she did was telling me change the configuration, save, change them back, and save again. and surely nothing of that worked.
I tried my yahoo mail, and other accounts, on iphone and HTC and they worked well both ways.
I really am not sure why people claim that blackberry are the best email handler! a lot of people suffer from sync problems, and there is no IMAP folders support on BIS!!

I have BB 9700 and Yahoo! BIS account. Worked like a charm until about a week ago.
It was even synchronizing my calendar and mail between BB and Outlook 2010 - never really understood how it managed to do that, but I was very pleased.
As of lately our telecom administrator spent hours on the phone with AT&T, Yahoo and RIM trying to resolve this problem. I was told by RIM tech. support that I've got too many messages in the inbox (measly 5000 e-mails) and that BB stops synchronizing after about 800 messages in the inbox, because it is timing out with so many messages to go through. Sounded like a total BS to me, but I still went ahead and cleaned up my Yahoo inbox and no luck, as I suspected. I was also told by tech. support that it is due to my using Outlook 2010 Beta2, which is not supported, hence the issue - another ferry tale, IMHO.
Hopefully, RIM will be able to get us back on track - manually deleting 60 emails every day is extremely annoying.
