Yamaha s70xs template for Logic?

How do I get Logic to "see" ALL of my patches in my Yamaha s70xs?
I own "studio manager", and use to use it with Cubase.....how do I get studio manager to function with Logic Studio pro?

Iphone TouchOSC template for Logic (includes all necessary files)

Hi Ya'll,
I had been looking for TouchOSC templates for LogicPro for a while. Since I didn't find any that were useful to me I put one together myself. Now I want to share it with anyone who needs basic track control in Logic.
The zip file contains 3 files necessary to get the template to work:
1. OSCulator file - necessary for routing and translating messages from TouchOSC to Logic. That file needs to be opened in OSCulatior.
2. Logic Key Commands file - needs to be imported into Logic. It contains definitions of the functions contained in the TouchOSC template.
3. TouchOSC template file - this file is the template itself and needs to be loaded into TouchOSC on iphone (i presume this will work on ipod touch as well but don't have one so I couldn't test it).

Trying to modify the new nanokontrol template for logic 8

hi folks,
I'm using Logic Pro 8, and I just got a Korg nanoKontrol. I installed the plug-in that Korg put out last month, and it works great, execept I want to change one thing. I never use the Cycle Mode button, but I use Undo all the time when I screw up a take and want to start over. I would like to change the Cycle button to Undo, but the assignment window and learn mode aren't letting me for some reason. It looks like it should be easy and intuitive, but the obvious method just doesn't work. can anyone help me out with this, or at least verify if it is possible or not? thanks!!

alright, I've learned that OSX commands can't be assigned to MIDI, and also discovered the 'Discard recording and return to last play position' command that does the Undo thing, only better, so I guess I answered my own question.
in the meantime, I deleted the template and tried to reinstall it, and completely failed, but that's a whole other discussion!

Using Yamaha AW2400 as control surface for Logic Pro 9

I am a freelance pro sound engineer currently working as tech support for a local school. They have a Yamaha AW2400 in their studio, something which I have never come across before despite using numerous Yammy desks. They also have a Mac running Lion and Logic Pro 9.
What I want to do is use the desk as a control surface for Logic and record direct to the Mac if possible. I have installed the Yamaha USB-MIDI drivers on the Mac and had the desk running as a device for file transfer (via the USB connection) but everything else is beyond my knowledge of the desk and Logic.
I am a Pro Tools guy so Logic is a bit new to me but I know how to setup a new control surface. and the basic operations.
What I need help with is...
- what control surface to use as there is no preset on the desk for a AW2400
- what port settings to use on Logic
- what TX and RX settings to use on the AW2400
- what Remote Out settings to use on the AW2400
- any other info I may need

BFD, Focusrite Saffire, Yamaha DTxtreme IIS and Logic Studio 8

I currently have a Yamaha DTXreme IIs electronic drumkit, a Focusrite Saffire interface (firewire) BFD 1, an academic version of Logic Express, MacBook Pro (specs below) with 2 GB RAM. Not upgrading to Tiger (yet).
I have had pretty good luck with BFD, although I can't use it to its full potential because of LE's limitations (can't use BFD All or Ultra to route drums to individual tracks out of BFD using a template in Logic Express - or so their support tells me). There were some issues with the bussing and auxillary channels in Logic Express being very limited and rather non-sensical in comparison with a typical mixing set-up. Really curious to know the specs on Studio 8 in regard to auxillary channels and stereo bussing.
Any word on those items?

Logic Studio (the full version, not the LE) has the ability to use up to 64 busses. Also, there are better routing options, as there are no limitations like in LE.
Also, you can play back up to 200 tracks (of course, your computer has to be able to do so...)
Unfrtunately, for you, you'll have to buy the full version, since you have an academic version roght now, which does not allow oyu to upgrade to 8. THe good news is that Studio is very affordable for what you get.

Template UI Logic and backingbean

I'm new to adf and i'm trying to build a sample project with jDevelopper 11.1.2.1.0 for my company to know if we can switch to it.
I've go a use case to implement but i've got some issues to understand how i can do it.
I must create a view with :
1) a top zone with a toolbar (and other stuff)
2) a center zone with a panel tabbed
2.a) In the first tab, a bounded table with some columns
2.b) In the second tab a splitter
2.b.i ) In the first facet of the splitter a second bounded table with some other columns (but linked to the same iterator)
2.b.ii) In the second facet of the splitter a form (to edit the data)
3) a bottom zone with a statut toolbar.
I've created my toolbar with a declarative component following the adf corner [079. Strategy for implementing global buttons in a page template|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/79-global-template-button-strategy-360139.pdf], my toolbar have 5 buttons (create, edit, save, cancel and delete).
I then created a template for placing panel, and table splitter ui components with a backingbean used for binding the ui components (in backingbean scope, its' important cause the template could be on the same page with nested template tag)
I've created a taskflow following the adf corner [007.How to cancel an edit form, undoing changes with ADFm savepoints|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/007-cancelform-savepoint-169126.pdf] for the edit form
I created a page that inherits my template, placed the declarative component toolbar at the top, placed the two bounded datatable in the facets of the template, and finally created a normal region calling the taskflow.
When i click on the create button, the template backing bean receive the "event" and handle it, changing a task flow parameter.... (updating the region)
My taskflow update and show me the create form... no problem....
But if the user is on the first tab, he sees nothing. So i would like to change the disclosed property of the showDetailItems of the panelTabbed.
I then created a variable in the pageDef of the template that would store a boolean value if the page is in EditMode or not. (create and edit is edit mode. save, cancel and delete is not)
I created a contextual event to listen when that variable change, like that a datacontrol from a bean with a single public method could handle that change :

So adf create a new instance of it but doesn't fill the ui component references of the page so i can't change the properties cause i get a NPE.

3) How can i realise my use case ?
4) Is there another method to implement UI Logic with template ?
5) Is there a better way to do this ?
6) How to get the context of the template ?

i want to be able to use them !!!

Hi,
There will not any performance issue as such as all the code will be executed by the same Dialog workprocess in the application server.
But it is alwys good to keep you flow logic and application logic seperated, so flow logic just calls the methods and the methods are in a different component like a static method of a class or function module in a function group.
Best thing is Function Group as you can have screens in a Function pool.

USING YAMAHA 01X AS A LOGIC CONTROLLER....NEED HELP

I purchased a new Yamaha 01x on clearance ($219) for use as a software controller for Logic Studio (8). I find the Yamaha 01x manual very cumbersome and difficult to understand and am having trouble setting this up. I have a few questions if someone can please help.
1) Can I use the 01x MIDI in/out to USB port on my IMAC to connect as a software controller. My only firewire port on the imac is taken up by my MOTU 896 mk111? I purchased a m-audio midisport to go from the the o1x to the USB port on imac.
2) Now that I've made the connection, I've set up the o1x in Logic preferences, but no luck with any control. Do I have to somehow set up controller manually?
Perhaps someone could direct me to a good resource for the o1x since the manual is almost useless...

I've only done a quick quick scan of your question, but if you're only going to use this o1x as a controller, routing the MIDI via another interface should work. You'll then only run audio over your MOTU 896 (I would do this too if I were you).
Should you want to run audio over your o1x, you'll need to add the mLan drivers from the yamaha synth site the other poster mentioned. you can also make an aggregate device combining both yoru mLan audio network and the MOTU - actually did this once... you'll have a lot of updating to do as the original drivers etc are pretty old (pre-Intel even - though it's all now UB)... the other thing to know, the mLan drivers are no longer supported on the mac, meaning they'll never go 64-bit. That will keep you from running OSX on a 64-bit kernel, but doesn't keep you from running Logic in 64-bit. You just need to know that if you install mLan drivers, your kernel won't be running in 64-bit now or in the future. Right now, all macs boot into 32-bit mode as the default for now, but someday this will change, and then the mLan drivers won't work for you (or me).
an o1x at this pricepoint, if you can use it as a control surface, was a great deal!!!

By the way, I have good reason to think this will work for you as a control surface. Although I do run mLan audio of the o1x, my MIDI routing is similar to yours, only I don't use the MIDI ports on the back of the o1x, but route MIDI to/from the o1x over mLAN to another device and then break it out to a MOTU MTP. Logic sees the o1x as a control surface, using port1 of the MTP. I have an extra step in the routing, but essentially do the same as what you want to do.

DataModeler v3.3.0 - Naming standards template for surrogate keys creation

I'm using DM 3.3.0.734 and in the logical model we now can define in the entity properties to "Create Surrogate Key".
When we use Engineer to relational model, for each entity is automatically created a new column using the naming template {entity}_ID as NUMERIC (without precision) and is defined as primary key.
My questions are:
Is possible to define a different naming standard for surrogate key creation?. We define id_{entiry}
Is possible to set the precision of NUMERIC surrogate key?
If we define entity's column as Primary UID, these columns are included in an unique constraint, but are using the naming standards for PK.
As consequence are created the following:
Unique constraint name: entity_PK
Primary key(surrogate)name: entity_PKv1
There is any way to define naming standards like "{entity}_UID" for unique constraints, or even, "{entity}_SK" for surrogate primary key name?
Can anyone help with some of these topics?

Naming standards template for surrogate keys creation I logged enhancement request for that.
How to change those bad names (going to change them one by one is not an option):
1) If those "transformed" unique keys are the only ones you have in relational model then simply can apply naming standards
2) You can write transformation script to do that for you
3) you can use new functionality - search, export to excel file, change the names there (using find/replace will be faster) and return changed data back to relational model

You should search for _PK, then filter result on Index and you can export result using report functionality (to XLS or XLSX output format). You can create template and include only table and name (of index) as properties to be included into report.

Hello,
the way to find it out is that you set a breakpoint into the function module READ_TEXT ( via SE37) and then process a PSP-Element with a long text via CJ12 or CJ13.
The transaction will stop at the breakpoint, an you get the text-id/text-name/ text-object from the input parameters on the function module.
If i try, it says ID = 'LTXT', name = 'E'<PRPS-PSPNR>, object = 'PMS', but for a WBS text there may be other parameters.
If you need the logic in an own programm, you could use the function READ_TEXT instead of selecting texts via STXH/STXL.

RFC Sender error could not create function template for...

I am trying to send an async RFC to XI. Since I use IN BACKGROUND TASK and COMMIT WORK I got following error in the SM58 of the back end system
Server repository could not create function
template for 'XYZ'
In the XI, I see nothing (no message, no error)
How can I fix this problem?

Hi Thomas,
You may need to have logical destinatio types for sender RFC. (and in the refernce entry you need to provide the actual destination)
may be some other errors also, Check this link and see if you have followed all the steps.

I need a template for BFD

Hey all Logic/BFD users:
I finnally got BFD and I'm getting ready to install and set up within Logic. It looks like I have a lot of learning ahead of me and would appreciate if someone could post a template for BFD/Logic. I did a search, but links were dead.
Also, any other advice on BFD, or getting started with BFD, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use BFD and am absolutely thrilled with it. "Out of the box" and loaded "as-is" was OK but once I tweaked the direct vs room ratio and came up with a better mix for the individual outputs it was great. I get people asking "Who was the drummer?" all the time.
As far as a template for the individual drums going to seperate channels or outputs I have found that to be a bit cumbersome. Here is what I do that really works better IMHO.
I program the drums I want for the song and then copy the object with the midi onto 5 tracks of the same BFD instrument. Then I label them KIK, SNARE, HAT&RIDE, TOMZ, & OHDS(crashes). I then delete all the instruments that AREN'T in the track which is easy. I now have the whole thing split out in midi info.
Next I simply render them to AUDIO and print them on individual tracks. I tend to render everything to audio because I can always go back to the "pre-mix multitrack" version of the tune regardless if I still have the plug ins or samples. It also seems to sound better when mixing with actual audio files as opposed to virtual synths and plugs.
It may seem that this adds an extra step and time but I really don't think it costs me anymore time than keeping it all virtual and tweaking the sounds. Plus it's less of a CPU load. Good luck and let me know how it goes.

There are lots available on the net but they are mostly written for WORD.

The notification system seems to be quite sporadic.
I go to get links for FAQs and occassionally spot the odd irrelevant comment and spam, but really unless it is totally off the wall I leave them be. At least for a month or two, then clean them off just so it doesn't bury the valuable stuff.
Been thinking about reconstructing the entire thing using WordPress so I can get better control over the layout and sort them imto more logical groups. I have trouble locating stuff I know is there and I pity the newcomer who doesn't even know it exists.

Badi/exit to set sales area data template for bp

Hi gurus,
When a new bp is created through web ui, I would like to set the sale area template for that bp based on a few criteria. I am running on crm 7.0.
I tried to call BAPI_BUPA_TEMPLATE_ADD or BUPA_TEMPLATE_ADD at BADI PARTNER_UPDATE, method CHANGE_BEFORE_UPDATE, but it doesn't work. The same code works if i create bp thru sap gui.
So any idea how to do it for web ui? any exit/badi or bte event that i can use the trigger the logic after bp is created?
And i notice those FM BUPA_*_ADD doesn't work in BADI PARTNER_UPADTE as well if it is created thru web ui, but work for sap gui. Any idea why?

To my knowledge, BADI PARTNER_UPDATE, method CHANGE_BEFORE_UPDATE changed will not work in Web UI because WebUI does not access the same memory location, so there is no code here.
I would try BADI BUPA_GENERAL_UPDATE. Make sure that [SAP Note 1469004|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1469004] is in place.
