Yellow Connect to Power Message - Now iPod has Blank Screen

Hello and Help. My Third Gen Nano 4 GB has gone dark... right before I saw the "Connect to Power" with a gold warning triangle message. I've tried all the menu/reset thing with no luck and I can't get the iPod to show up on iTunes.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping it's not the battery as a battery costs half the price of a new iPod, but it's sort of looking that way. But before I gave up I thought I'd see if anyone might have an idea.
Thanks!
Scott

Yep, it's the battery. Same answer as the other post right before you.

Please help, I shut down the iPod 4th gen in middle of updating to its 6 and now there's a blank white screen, can anybody help me??

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup (if you have an iCloud backup) see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Bummer. Sounds like it's broken. I'd advise either taking it to a professional for repair or just scrapping it and getting a new phone.

  • "connect to power" message and now no working phone

I went down to 5% power and then the message "connect to power" came on. I connected it to a car charger on the way home to charge it and it said" please wait" and then went blank, nothing on the screen. It will plug into the USB and sync, but nothing on the screen, even leaving it charging for over two hours. Any help out there?

  • ITunes message: an ipod has been detected but could not be identified properly.

For some reason my ipod nano 7th generation will not connect to iTunes anymore. It comes up on my computer but iTunes will not "identify" it. I have tried resetting my ipod and unistalling iTunes then reinstalling and following the help intructions online. Anyone know how to fix this? Cheers.

I recently began receiving this message when i try to sync my ipod to itunes:  " an ipod has been detected but it could not be identified properly."   Never had this problem before.  Have tried all troubleshooting suggestions.
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • "Sorry, I cannot connect the network right now" - Siri has become fairly useless for me.

I having been giving Siri a fair shake since I know it is still very new.
9 times out of 10 my Siri responds, "Sorry, I cannot connect the network right now"
I have tried disaling, and enabling in Settings
I have tried enuciating clearly, in a quiet environment.
I have tried everything I can think of, and basically just stopped using it.
    Any thoughts?

A forum search would have found dozens of threads discussing this Siri server issue the last 2 days.  Some have found that resetting the phone helps, at least temporarily:
Press both the home and sleep/wake buttons until yhe Apple logo appears.

  • 5th Gen iPOD has white screen and beeps when center and menu button is held

My ipod was perfectly fine until I downloaded iPod Updater 2006-01-10...now, my ipod has a white screen, won't turn off (white screen stays on) and when I hold the center and menu button down, it does a 3 syllable beep. I've done the switching the hold button back and forth; resetting my ipod; restarting my PC; un-installing and re-installing both the itunes software and the ipod updater and still no working ipod. I am atleast trying to restore it to factory settings, but, I get an error message on the iPod updater screen. Can anyone help? Thanks!

everybody listen to babara hall, genius, it takes a while but reset it one more time using menu and selct and while its off for a few seconds push selct and play/pause, hold it for a long while, then let go and you'll see the apple logo and everything will go back to the way it was before.
p.s. thank you so much, ipods working great now, glad someone knows what there doing instead of apple, lol

Please help!!!!  My daughter's ipod has quit working, has white screen.  I have tried numerous times to shut off as suggested on apple support.  Any other suggestions?!?!?!

let the battery drain it might take a long time if it was fully charged but just leave it alone until the battery drains then put it to charge and it should start working again
