Hi, I think I saw a message "system update" in the notification bar a little while ago but I cleared this and when I check for updates in Settings it says that I have the latest system (Android 4.4). Is it just a case of waiting until it's made available by this method even though it's obviously out there for a lot of people?

Lenovo has withdrawn the Lollipop update due to customer reports of usability issues.
Several issues are being resolved before it will be released again in several weeks. There is no release date available at this time.

  • Is there a phone system update available?

    When I check for updates my phone still says none available. Someone on this forum said there would be one by early December.
    My phone info says:
    Firmware version 2.1 - update1
    Baseband version S:i500.04 V.DI01
    Hardware i500.04
    Kernel version 2.6.29
    Is that as it should be?
    My main and very large problem is that the phone will not continuously download or send POP email. Turning phone off and on helps for awhile...sometimes....  K-9 has not been a reliable fix either.  Verizon, please get the default email client fixed!! And, no, I will not forward all my email through a gmail account. Should not need to do that!

    yeah, DI01 should be the latest "official" update.  There were rumors of another scheduled maintenance release that would come before froyo but there hasn't been any recent news on that.

    Check your Service Station. The link to the KB article--changelog?--is 404 so who knows what this update does. I'm hoping it improves stability if WiFi is set to sleep with the tablet. We'll see…

    Yeah -- this update will mess up screen brightness if you are using the Balanced Power option.

  • System Update Download Hang

    I got a notification this morning that there was a system update available.  I selected the option for the phone to shut down now and install the update.  It then turned back on without showing any sort of progress for the update install and went right to the home screen.
    When I go to "System Updates" under "About Phone", it tells me that an update is currently being downloaded, but it is clearly not downloading anything.  I have been getting this message for several hours.  How can I restart the download and install it?  I have already tried taking the battery out and restarting the phone.  Thanks.

    The current System Version is 2.3.20, A955 and Android 2.2. If you have this as your current Droid 2 software, this is the most current update available.  I am sorry there is not a way to restart the download. Please check your device to see if this is your current software. The resetting of your device and the message being there for several hours maybe a prior notification that perhaps is not applying to your device.

  • Macbook will turn on and off but won't restart so i can apply a system update.

    lately i've been having trouble with my macbook pro retina display early 2013 model running 10.9. i've had a system update available for a while now but when i try to update the app store will download the update and prompt me to restart but when i try to restart my mac does nothing. i've tried manually updating by downloading the update directly from apple.com, but i get the same result. if i use the restart command from the menu bar apple drop down i get the same result. i can force a restart by holding down power, but the update doesn't get installed. i've tried running a disk check and it repaired a few things and says the disk is fine now, however i still can't find a solution to this very frustrating problem.

    bump? i've been trying to figure this out with google and a few friends and have made no progress.

  • System update 4.08 turned my phone into a brick

    I believe it was OTA system update 4.08 for my incredible and now my phone halts at the fastboot screen. It wont boot to the OS and is non-responsive with both volume buttons and the power button.  Is anyone experiencing similar issues? I'm going to the verizon store tomorrow to see what they can do.

    I can't get this one to install. I get the message that it will reboot and install, but it never does. I do have a concern as this is rooted, but still running the pure software, no cyanogen or anything like that. I did also pull off a few of the VZ crapware that came pre-installed so not sure if that made a difference.
    I have tried chaning the date and time to trigger it but same thing, downloads, states it will reboot to install and nothing. I have an S3 on order so not too worried about this. Prob will do a factory restore before putting it up for sale.

    You may want to consider using another browser if 2.0.0.20 does not work for your email. You could try using Safari for your email. So I decided to run System Update (5.06.0034) to see if anything appropriate would inbstall. SU downloaded 4 fixes, and I selected all to install. The fixes downloaded, installation began and all fixes immediately showed "installation failed".
    Therer was a manual update available in the failure message, but clicking on it did not cause anything to happen.
    The fixes displayed were
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.10.4002
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.3.3.41
    - Installed camera Driver for Realtek 6.2.9200.10252
    - ThinkPad BIOS Update (non-Vpro) 1.24.1.24
    I went to downloads and downloaded and manually installed Lenovo Power Management Driver and Lenovo Settings Dependency Package (restarts required).
    I ran SU and it showed only the BIOS update needed. I tried again to install and got the same failure.
    I went back to downloads and the only BIOS update was 1.08, not 1.24.1.24. I tried to install it anyway and the install failed due to  "The process does not recognize this system. The process has been canceled."
    I tried uninstalling SU and reinstalling and restart, I ran SU, downloaded and tried to install the BIOS and SU immediately displayed "installation failed".
    So I have a couple of problems. SU is not working and I don't know where to look to try to determine the installation problem. The BIOS update info does not match up between SU and the downloads page.
    Any ideas on where to look for the SU failure to install fixes? Do I need the BIOS?. I checked and my current BIOS shows as LENOVO GQET43WW (1.23), 1/21/2015.

  • "System Update" is not available without a Motorola service account

    Can somebody explain to me what this is or means? It's not mentioned in any of the documentation and it's not mentioned on the majority of these threads when people are sucessfully upating their droids. HELP!

    is there a way you have some debug mode turned on or service menu activated or you received a development version of the phone?  Have you accessed any "hidden menus" and messed up settings?
    Either you or verizon did something to the phone.
    I would run into a vzw store and get service codes or send the ph back for replacement.
    This is what I was afraid of hearing. At least this confirms my suspictions. All I got out of vzw tech support was that "The only way that phones are being updated is by OTA" and that this is a geographical phased approach til the end of the month. WTH!

  • Again problems with System Update

    Hello
    Yesterday I've newly setup my computer with Windows Vista. After this installation I have usually install Lenovo System Update first. I have installed the newest version (3.14.0008) and I'm trying now to use it, but it always tells me, that there are no packages available for my system.
    The strange thing is, that the package index (around 400 KB), which is normally downloaded, is never downloaded. The connection settings in Internet Explorer are correct.
    Does anyone else have the same problems? On saturday, everything went fine with System Update. Since yesterday, I'm unable to get any software or drivers.
    Maybe there's a problem with the package server?

    Yes, we here in Germany have also problems, the same message appears.
    The Update Server seems down, try again later or tomorrow.
    See on "thinkpad-forum.de" are also users with this problems.

  • Galaxy S3 OTA manual update error

    I am getting an error when i try to do a manual OTA update. 
    Service unavailable
    To check for a system updates, go to Settings > About device when service is available.
    Any help on this?

    I made two trips. On the first we were told the update would be OTA, and that the manual update would not work until my wife received an email notification that it was available. I knew this to be untrue because I had already manually updated my phone, and I never received an email (I still haven't). If she did not receive the update within 10 days of the email we were to go back to the store.  She received the email a couple of days later, and after 12 days there was no automatic update, and several manual attempts to update resulted in the same error, so we went back to the store.
    On the second trip the salesperson at the store spoke with support and explained the whole situation, at which time they decided to send my wife a new phone. The new phone arrived 2 days later, and she switched her SIM over and received the update immediately. There was never an indication from support as to what the problem was, but the new phone seems to have resolved it.
    I came to the forum for answers and got none. I clearly stated that I had already rebooted the phone several times to no avail, as well as having done a factory data reset. And yet, people posted that we should reboot our phones because they failed to read and comprehend. A forum is a place for discussion and (hopefully) answers, but that becomes all but impossible when people respond with ignorant replies that tell you to do what you've already done. Just an FYI, if you are one of these guilty parties, you're defeating the purpose of this forum and making the lives of others harder.
