Yosemite upgrade breaks exchange calendar sync

Since my Yosemite upgrade on my mbp my calendar entries are not syncing to my corporate exchange server.  Mail is working fine.
I have noticed that when I receive a calendar invite and accept it in mail it remains in my inbox for a much longer time than it did under prior os/x versions.  Eventually the invite does move to trash.  However, the invite never shows up on my calendar.  Additionally, if I create a calendar event others do get it.  If I modify an existing calendar event it does not move on my calendar but others get the updated information.
I have tried various solutions offered in several forums but none has worked.  Removing and adding the account back does nothing.  There were notes about a time zone cache but I've not found that.  I've asked our crack IT department what they changed and they claim no changes were made.
Anyone have any good ideas otherwise I'll have to revert to the dreaded outlook app.

I've seen this issue a bunch of times where I work. It basically it works like this:
If one of your folders in Exchange has a or more corrupted item(s) in it the whole folder will not sync. So, it's an all or nothing thing. with the iPhone.
Easiest way to test this would be to move all items out of the Calendar (for example) and create a new appointment. If you see the new appointment in your calendar after refreshing then you know you have a corrupted item somewhere in your real data.
The tedious way I found around it is to move everything out of the folder Calendar, in-box, contacts, etc. and slowly move them back in a little at a time while refreshing the connection on the iPhone by turning the option on or off for either the calendar, contact, etc. until you find the corrupted item(s).
It is a serious pain but that seems to do the trick. Apple needs to create a tolerance of corrupted items in their code for the iPhone for this issue to go away.

  • Longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync Bug Persists in iOS 7 / 7.0.2

For those who sync their iPhone / iPad / iPod touch to a Microsoft Exchange e-mail environment, you may be aware that there's a longstanding Exchange Calendar Sync bug (affecting iOS 4.x - 6.1.3).  An otherwise functional iDevice may suddenly remain warmer to the touch than normal, exhibit much shorter battery life, and start using cellular data at up to ten times the user's typical pattern.  I've taked with Apple Support several times, and was never able to get an answer.  The fix involves simply opening the Exchange account settings on the iDevice, shutting off calendar sync for thirty seconds, and turning it back on.  This is nothing new.
Over the weekend, an executive’s iPhone 5 (on Verizon) and his iPad 2 (Wi-Fi only), both running iOS 7, began exhibiting runaway connections to my employer’s Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync server.  The user upgraded his iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2 over the weekend, but the problem persisted.  In one 24-hour period, his iPhone checked in with our server 45,009 times, while his iPad connected 55,547 times.  Normally we’d expect to see a single device connect a few hundred times per day rather than tens of thousands.
I've written more about it here.

This is still a problem in iOS 7.0.4 as well.  We just had runaway calendar sync behavior on a 4th generation iPad running iOS 7.0.4 (iPad3C4/1102.55400001), which connected 75,436 times in a single 24-hour day.

I wasted money and so much time on this app, is there anything else out there that does a better job?

Not to mention that it doesn't work with Leopard now! I wish there was a way to get my Exchange calendar to sync to a third party that would sync with iCal 3.0. Since there is not support for CalDAV it would be nice if Exchange would support this!

  • IPhone battery issue - exchange calendar sync the primary suspect

I previously posted about very poor battery life and how a full re-install and reset seemed to fix the issue. The battery life was great for a week or so then I tried to go from my calendar on .me to my calendar on exchange. Then the issues re-appeared.
I am 99.9% sure that calendar sync via exchange is the issue. I am not sure if it's a funky server setting that my company has or what. It seems to work fine for others in the company however my e-mail account at work is relatively old compared to theirs. I am also on a Mac using Entourage. I made sure push was turned off and only fetch every hour. Still the same issue.
Again there is no battery drain when synching via iCal/.me. This kind of defeats the purpose of push calendar for me because I need to synch Entourage with iCal then iCal with .me. This means I need to be on my company network to sync. So the only time my calendar syncs is when I have my laptop on the company network.
The reason I'm writing is in hopes that someone from apple reads this and posts a fix. The CPU gets noticeably hot when exchange calendar sync is on so I know something is up. If you have any more info on this please let me know. I am also going to try the apple store tomorrow. Maybe it's a defective phone BUT since it works for everything except Exchange cal sync I am thinking it is some server/client polling issue.

I KNOW THIS IS lONG, BUT PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT.
OK - After about 5 hours of troubleshooting I have FIGURED out why my battery was lasting only 3.5 hours. I hope this helps.
    1. completely wiped the phone away and brought it back with push disabled. EVERYTHING FINE
    2. I enabled push waited 1 hour. EVERYTHING FINE
    3. I enabled mail push syncing. EVERYTHING FINE
    4. I enabled contacts push syncing. EVERYTHING FINE
    5. I enabled calendar and BAM battery starting spinning in overdrive. The calendar was the issue.
    6. I disabled push and to my surprise it did not get better, only after a reboot did the batter return to normal. OK - so I have narrowed it down to the calendar.
    7. I am using Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003.
    8. I took a bold step and archived my entire calendar to a pst file so it left nothing in the calendar.
    9. Again to my surprise the battery started draining immediately when i enabled the calendar again. On a hunch I checked the properties of the calendar and it said there was a few kb left. I could not do anything to find these.
    10. I logged into Outlook web access (http://exchangeservername/exchange - if enabled) and did a search on the calendar and it found two orphan calendar entires. I deleted them.
    11. I enabled calendar syncing again and it went perfect. I then copied back all of my calendar entires from the archive pst to the calendar and luckily no problem.
The push service must have not known how to process these two entires and was just chocking on it. For the last two weeks I have been getting 12-14 hours from a charge with 3-5 hours of use. Farb better then the 3.5 hours with no usage. I hope this helps!!

  • Yosemite update preventing exchange calendar to sync

How do I get my exchange calendar for work to sync on my mac air with yosemite 10.10.2?
All my other email work perfectly, its just my work exchange email. I get the emails just fine and can respond to them even though it is a little delayed. I just can get my calendar to sync, which is very important for what i do. Ive checked various websites, but nothing seems to work.... PLEASE HELP!

Did you get any feedback about your question? If this works, I would like to attempt something similar for one of our users.

  • IPhone to Exchange calendar sync issues

OK, I have read through many posts on here, but have yet to find a post that describes my situation. If someone has seen this answered in other places, please let me know.
I currently have the following setup:
iPhone 2.2.1, using OTA sync with Exchange
    Entourage 2008 (not Outlook/Windows)
Exchange server 2007 (at work, I am not the guy who runs it)
My mail and contacts work fine.
CALENDAR issue for me is something I can't quite wrap my head around:
I get syncs fine for calendar when accepted through Entourage - but when they are updated by the original senders I get multiple entries for every event showing up on my phone (the old events aren't removed). In addition, my phone does not sync back to the Exchange server when I accept invitations, nor when I create entries in my calendar.
    Thoughts?

This problem is only something I've had problems with recently. Previously entries in the Calendar would sync OK regardless of where they were created or accepted. So appointments I logged on the road into the phone would work back into Exchange and onto Entourage.
Two things have changed. Our Exchange server was upgraded and how has Active Sync which means I now get push notifications which is great. I've also gone up to the 3.01 software on the iPhone.
Now, it seems I am ONLY getting push from Exchange to the iPhone. Calendar entries from Entourage appear on the phone.
Any calendar entries created on the phone or invites accepted on the phone stay on the phone. They are not synced back to Exchange and onto my Entourage calendar.
As someone who is office based for only a few days a month, effective Calendar sync is vital.
If the problem is with the OS update on the phone then this fix needs to be part of 3.02. If the problem lies with the Active Sync setup then I need some instructions to go back to our Sys Admins with.
    Thanks!

  • Exchange Calendar Syncing -- One Way sync only

I am able to sync my contacts and email both ways between my Pre and my exchange server.
However, any items I create on my PRE are not showing up on my Exchange calendar.  Items I create on my Exchange calendar show up on my PRE.
Is this a generic issue or a problem specific for my handset?
I tried deleting and adding the exchange info.  It did not work.

This may or may not apply to you guys, but I know that I had issues with my Exchange/Outlook syncing to my Google Calendar, using Google Calendar Sync. The problem was due to the default event-type in Outlook.
If the Pre is very closely tied with Google, it's possible you will have to go into Outlook, and change File > Folder > Properties for "Calendar" and make sure it is set to IPM.Appointment.

  • A recent problem with exchange calendar sync?

I searched this forum and did not find anything of this nature.
I recently noticed that the events from my exchange calendar have began to purge themselves from the Pre as time goes by. Old events, which had been synced at one time are now gone. Future events remain whether they were added from the server or my pre. But the old events are now limited to recurring events added from the exchange server and events added from the Pre. I have not noticed this before and wonder if anyone else is having the same problem. I would find it hard to believe this is programmed into the calendar software.
    Thank you for any assistance.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

The next thing I would do is to export the data from Google and then remove the calendar from the Pre and delete it from Google. Reason this would be done is if there is any corrupted data that is on Google that is not syncing to the Pre. Import the calendar back into Google and add it back into the Pre.
To export and import in Google go to your calendar then to settings. Then click on calendars and on the right side you should have an option to export calendar. Save the exported calendar to My Documents or some place that you can remember. The delete option should be under calendars as well. You want to do this for the main calendar.

  • Exchange Calendar sync loops, drains, and fails

It seems I have got the same problem as described here. The symptom is that the Exchange sync never seems to finish. The phone runs hot and probably uses a lot of network traffic. The problem is that the disable/enable of Calendar sync trick fails on my iPhone. It tries for a long time and then it times out. I can't even remove the accounts completely, that fails in the same way.
It's an iPhone 5S running iOS 7.0.5. I'm syncing three calendars. Two Exchange accounts from different servers and one Gmail.
This problem happened to me once before and then I ended up doing a Factory Reset. I'd rather not do that again.

I would love to find a solution to this! It could be to the root of the problem, how to force calendar sync off, how to force removal of email accounts, or to something that I've missed.
PS. I've asked the same question here. DS.

Not sure if this will help, I found it solved a slightly different problem.  the following is a re-post from a different thread.
I've had similar issues - although my email and contacts were syncing with Exchange without issue, in iOS7 I developed a one-way problem with calendar sync.
Appointments created on my iPhone were syncing fine to my Exchange server, and were then visible in outlook on my PC.
However items created in Outlook were not syncing to the iPhone.
I'm running iOS 7.1 on an iPhone 5; plus Outlook 10 on a Windows 8.1 machine connecting to Exchange on Small Business Server 2003.
    I found a solution here.
On the PC, go to your calendar and right-click the Calendar folder.  On the Permissions tab, change the default Permissions from "none" to "Reviewer".  Apply changes.
Then on the iPhone, remove and add back the calendar in Settings.
I have 3 separate calendars on my exchange server and had to do this for each one.  When I only did it for one calendar at first, this was the only one which appeared on the iPhone.  So, it seems to me that this was definitely the culprit.
Interesting that this problem only reared it's head since the iOS7 update.  Calendar was working just fine for me in iOS6.

  • Exchange calendar sync issues among iOS devices and Mavericks

When I add an event to a shared Exchange calendar on my Mac in iCal, and mark it as All-Day, that designation does not appear with the event on my iOS devices. Instead, it's given a 24-hour duration from 12 to 12, so to speak. Here's the confusing part: If I edit the event on my iPhone to correct it as All-Day, it does not sync that All-Day designation to my iPad. Additionally, if I then make the same correction on the iPad, toggles it on the phone and removes All-Day. Removal of All-Day designation on a device does remove it on the Mac calendar, which I then have to change back. So I chase it around in a circle and end up with the correct duration on only one iOS device. The difference in All-Day and 24 hours duration does matter graphically as many of these events run for several weeks or months. All-Day keeps them confined to the upper section of the calendar graph rather than muddying up the lowerm hourly appointments.
Any ideas on how to rectify the problem?
I'm running Mavericks, iOS 7.0.3 and using MS Exchange 2010.

There are several other posters on the Forums that are having issues with Exchange sync'ing with Mavericks. It could be that your all-day verses mutli-hour issue may be among them.
Most of the problems that people are seeing, including myself, are more to do with Mail and Calendar simply not synchronizing.
My Mail.app INBOX for my Exchange server is now several hours behind my iOS and Windows Outlook instances. Calendar appointments are simply not being pushed to the server (though they seem to be retrieved OK).
So, sorry for now help on this one directly, but you are not alone.

  • Exchange calendar syncing suddenly not working on 2nd gen IPOD touch

Calendar syncing on IPOD touch 2nd generation no longer works with Microsoft Exchange server. Mail syncing works fine.

A full restore is probably not going to solve your ongoing WiFi issues - which are causing your YouTube problems. Best bet is to do two things with your router:
    1. Pull the plug, wait a minute or two, plug it back in. (power cycling)
    2. If that works, you are done. If not, go to the router manufacturer's website and download and install the latest firmware for your router.
If you are still having problems, reset your iPod network settings - tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. When your iPod restarts, log back into your network by this route:
    1. Tap Settings > WiFi > Other
    2. Enter your network name
    3. Enter your security mode
    4. Enter your password
You should be all set. However, if you continue to have WiFi problems, please post a new question, with details about your network setup and router, to one of the other touch discussion groups.

  • Exchange Calendar Syncing but no events showing in my calendar

I have a palm pre plus from verizon and am using active sync with an exchange account.  My email and contacts sync perfectly.  I know my calendar events are in sync because I get my reminders pop up for events right when they should be (normally 15 minutes prior).  The problem is that when I open the calendar it shows no entries at all!  I have the exchange account set as default and have tried adding and deleting the account about 10 times to no avail.  I can even enter a new entry on the pre and it shows up in outlook shortly after.  When I am done entering the new appointment on the pre though and go back to the calendar page, it does not show.  I've tried only viewing the exchange calendar and showing all calendars and neither way shows me my calendar.  HELP!  Thanks everyone!

Same problem here.....latest webos installed, email and calendars downloading fine from Exchange, email sync'd working both ways, but calendar events entered on the Pre are not uploading to Exchange.  Problem has been going on since year 2010 bug fix in latest webos release.  What is the fix? Palm Pre from Sprint.

  • Exchange Calendar Sync

Is anyone else having problems syncing the Calendar app to an Exchange server?
I have my work email account (Exchange) setup in Mail and calendar. Up until a few days ago everything seemed to be working fine.
Then sometime around the latest OS update i started noticing the exclamation mark apprearing next to my exchange calendar in the calendar app. Mail continued to work normally. This exclamation mark seemed to be intermittent at first but then i noticed it wasnt pulling in new events that had been created. Clicking on the exclamation mark revealed nothing (i expected some kind of dialogue box explaining the problem).
I decided to delete the exchange account and start from scratch. Now however, the calendar wont pull in any event data at all. Throughout this, the mail seems to have carried on working fine.
    Any advice?
    Thanks
    Andy

    Morning,
As coincidence would have it I just yesterday managed to get mine working. This is what i did in the hope that it helps someone else.
My problem was that I could create events on the calendar app which would appear in the Outlook calendar (therefore syncing to the exchange server. But events or changes to events done outside of Calendar on mac, werent pulled through.
As a test I asked the administrator to set me up a blank test email. I then added events from all devices and moved them around and all worked fine. This proved to me it was a problem restricted to Calendar app and my account. The only thing i could think of was that there was an old event stuck in the system somewhere that was causing problem syncing so I deleted my account and cleared my cache and all worked fine!
    To clear my cache:
    Finder
Go menu while holding Alt key
    Library
    Caches
    Delete:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal
I then set up my exchange account as per normal.

  • Mail for Exchange - calendar sync fails

    Hi,
I upgraded recently my N73 with the latest release of the firmware and the latest release of Mail For Exchange.
Before that change, I had no problem to sync my mobile phone with our server Exchange 2007.
Unfortunately, after the upgrades, like many other people of this forum, I cannot succeed in synchronizing my calendar (it seems that my mobile phone is stuck in the endless loop). I've tried the various solutions written in the other posts of this forum but without success (define an end-date of recurring events, no blank event, ...).
Does anyone solved the issue ?
    Thank you in advance !
