Several of our PDF File icons on my Desktop images went blank; and, cannot be accessed now. I subsequently received a notification from your company stating that Workspace will be retiring and all files left will be permanently deleted if they aren't down loaded from the site by a certain date in January 2015. However, when I opened the web site, per your company's directions, I wasn't able to open the downloaded files! Please correct this error ASAP.

Open iTunes on your iMac.
In the lefthand column of the iTunes window that opens, under Library, click on Apps. A window will open that will show all the Apps you've downloaded. If you downloaded the App via the iPad, you will have needed to sync the iPad and the iMac previously for the App to be listed. (I think)
Click on the App you want to delete, then press the Delete key on your keyboard. A window will open asking you to confirm that you want to delete the app. Click the confirm button.

I deleted some files from my iTunes music library, how do I get them back?

Hi there, I hope you can help.
I have had an 80Gb iPod for a while now, but it got full, so I was deleting stuff that I didn't listen to very often from my iTunes library as I added new music. However, I kept all the music in my iTunes Music folder.
I have now purchased a 120Gb iPod, but obviously some of my music is only in the iTunes Music folder, but NOT actually in my music library within iTunes. Is there a way to sync the entire library with the new iPod (ie. including all the albums that I deleted from my iTunes library to accommodate new ones), or will I have to manually check my entire iTunes music library against my iTunes Music folder?
In essence, what I want to do is the opposite of consolidating my iTunes music library into my iTunes Music folder - to get all the music in my iTunes Music folder back into the library, without duplicating the stuff that's on there already. I hope that's clear...?

Try iTunes Folder Watch for rereading the content you deleted, assuming you only removed it from the library, not the media folder. If you deleted the tracks then restore those that remain from the recycle bin first.
When you are finished you should have a new playlist with all the tracks that iTFW found. Rename this Exclude and then create a smart playlist called, say, iPod Music with the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Exclude. This is the playlist you sync with your device, and any time it grows too large just find some more stuff to throw into Exclude.

Bearing in mind that Virtual Memory can easily use 2 gigs of disk space, this might well be an issue. If VM is working at that level, then you have less than a gig of sapce, and if you've got a large temp. file, from - say - editing a file in Photoshop, it's very easy to see how the OS would have difficulty finding space...
Can you remove any files to storage? On an external disk? On CDs? Do you have lots of music that cold be stored on an external hd? Garageband loops? Remove unwanted language resources using Monolingual? Have you cleared out the unused language resources in iWeb? It might be worth trying, even temporarily, to clear off 5+ gigs of space, restarting and seeing does that make a difference.
If not then a re-install seems like the next port of call, however, with that limited amount of space, I think that you'll start having problems again, and soon.
What to take from the Machine in the event of a wipe and install? A non-exhaustive list:
1. Your Home Folder, Documents, Pictures, Music, Library, including the Application Support Folder, Mail, Mail attachements, Calendars, Keychains and Preferences
2. The Application Support Folder at HD/Library
3. Have you installers for all your apps? Serial Numbers? Passwords from your keychains?
And anything else you can think of. Have a good look through the Library folder. Some apps create folders in there, appart from Application Support.

Deleted important files from iPhone 3G and now it isnt recognized by Windows or iTunes

I wanted to erase all the data off my phone to sell it so I tried to factory reset it but now it never get passed the apple logo and I dont know what to do. I tried to manually delete everything first and I delete some importanat file and now it wont get past the Apple logo. How can I restore in to the factory seetings with/or without iTunes. It is not so much a problem but an arrangment that seeks to create seperate users who have discrete compartments (their account) to manage their own stuff.
The simple if vague answer is that different accounts / users ideally have an ownership over their personal data, that is not universally available. An example would be your emails are your personal files not available for viewing by other users on that computer.*
Normally, different users can share files across accounts, by moving shared files to the Shared folder found in HD/Users.
* There are exceptions to this generalisation.

FCP video files in trash, trash emptied - any program that can recover them

Look, I know I am going to get nailed for posting this here, but it did happen as a result of FCP, so I was hoping someone would be able to help if they had a similar experience.
A project I completed was put in the trash because it was taking up space. That's normal. I emptied the trash and moved on to the next project, for which I had already digitized some video.
All kinds of files where showing up in my bins as disconnected. So I try to reconnect them and they are gone. Vanished.
I closed FCP and reopened. When I did, it looked liked I was starting from scratch - like I had just installed the program. I had to reopen all projects. A window came up and asked me to reset the scratch disks - to my GREAT surprise, the scratch disk it was looking for was the one for the previously trashed project. In other words, all that footage I had been digitizing had been in an identically-titled file in the folder of the TRASHED PROJECT.
SO - since the source disks have not been available to me for some time I was hoping a FCP user might know of a way to restore items that have been emptied from the trash. Is there such a program or are they, in fact, gone for good? And how did my scratch disk get magically reset? I have not set i since June 2005 when I first set it up.

I have a program called FileSalvage that has been able to recover inadvertently deleted files. Not all of them but the critical ones.
The program only recovers supported file types. Verify yours is in the list. If it isn't email them. They created some custom profiles for me when I needed to pull back some PC files that were stored on a Mac formatted network drive.
Recognize, the more you use the computer, the greater the likelihood you may overwrite some segment of a file thereby making it not recoverable. If the repository of the files in question is an external, disconnect it so you will do no further damage until you are ready to begin file recovery operations.

I just installed a new wireless printer but I was able to access web pages normally after I did that. The problem started the next day. The only web page on the desktop that works is Google.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Cannot import files from hard drive

I just got an iPod and downloaded iTunes (for Windows). I imported some music from CDs, but I can't import files from my hard drive. I've tried adding them as files and in a folder. Every time, nothing happens. I don't get an error message, but the songs don't show up anywhere in iTunes or on my iPod. Can anyone help me?
P.S. They are .aac files.

Can you confirm that you are following one of the methods in the Add to Library section of this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.
In particular, pay attention to the statement that "iTunes adds entries in your iTunes library for the selected files, and copies the files to your iTunes Music folder (if you have that option selected in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences)."

Import file from another CMS (SharePoint) repository

Given:
Documents reside in various SharePoint Site Collections.
Book is saved to Site Collection #1
Using FrameMaker's CMS functionality, I am able to easily browse multiple repositories (each repository representing a connection to a different SharePoint Site Collection).
How can I import, via reference or copy, a file from Site Collection #2? The options to browse to another repository, by URL, or by local file system are grayed out. It would appear that I am only able to import files from within the same site collection that my book exists in.

Is this a bug or limitation of the software? Any chance this will be fixed in an upcoming update?

Do you have a backup of your iPhone? If so, do a restore and whatever Notes were backed up should reappear.
You will lose any changes made since that backup though.
