I got the exact same problem on a newly reinstalled E72, though the same app runs well on another E72. There is actually no network connection problem as all other apps can access the Internet, the app just stops at the Terms and Conditions page and can't be initialised. It seems something changed at the YouTube side hence the app just can't locate the network resources it needs for the first run on the device. As the same app can work on other S60 devices, that means just some configuration information is missing on the newly installed device. The most easy way to fix is to copy the app's private data from another known-good device. Assume you have installed the YouTube app in memory card (not phone memory), then you need a computer to access the files stored on the phone's memory card. This YouTube app is for S60 device, its private data is stored at E:\Private\2000FBBA, where E is the memory card. Beside the subfolder "res", there are some other files in this folder, see below the example. backup_registration.xml 225.00b April 8 2012 didk 143.00b June 26 2012 fv1 1.00Kb June 26 2012 pstlgs 44.00b June 26 2012 res 1.50Kb January 18 2013 at 14:57 sehi 27.00b June 26 2012 stgs 148.00b June 26 2012 Simply copy these files from the other S60 device to your phone, then your YouTube should be able to work as expected. Be aware you are using the other phone's private settings including country code and search history. Do no try to "clear private data" under Help option, this will reinitialise the app and bring the problem back. If you just can't borrow a known-good S60 device, try get these files by searching for "2000FBBA" on Google. This solution worked on my E72. NOTE: Don't touch the other files as it may brick your phone. Take your risks. Here's an Archive file, download it,ectract adn copy all the files except the "res" folder.

  • Error Message In Youtube App

When I open the Youtube App on my iPhone 4 I get this message that says "Youtube Not Available." The app worked just fine up until about three days ago. Any idea what I could do to fix it? I've tried closing the app, force closing it, restarting the phone and nothing has helped.

Do you use any apps with push notification perhaps? Seems that the Youtube-error is somehow related to the error that pops up when you try to use push notification. When you start such an app, the error message is 'Connect to iTunes to use push notifications'.
I've had both problems since yesterday, for no apparent reason. Only thing I can think off, is that when my battery ran out and I plugged my iPhone (which is a 3GS) in, the errors started popping up.

That's a peculiar one to get in the context of a QuickTime uninstall.
Which particular version of QuickTime for Windows are you currently running? (7.7.5, 7.7.4, something earlier?)

Oh phooey. I had the same problem, so I decided to delete and reinstall. Only to discover that Google's YouTube app no longer supports anything below iOS 6. This is a problem since I'm running an original iPad.
Yes, I realize that my version of iOS still has the old YouTube app. But it's not the same. For one thing there are a lot of ad-supported videos that will only play in the new app.

  • YouTube app - Authentication Error

I've been researching for over an hour and a half, thinking I've found the answer, only for it to fail.  I'm a bit aggravated, and this is my first post here, so forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong area.
Okay... deep breath.  Here it goes.
I'm attempting to log in to the YouTube app on my iPhone 4S (with iOS 6.1.2).  Every single time I log in, I get that dreadful "Authentication Error" message pop up.  I found that apparently I needed to set up a 2-step verification process via my Google account.  I did.  I then added the YouTube app to the "Application-specific passwords" section.  When I attempt to log into the app, it tells me I need to log in with my Google account password - not the password I was just given.
The thing is, I can log in via the mobile site on my iPhone - minus the pesky authentication error!  So what's the problem here?  What am I missing?
    HELP!

I've been having the same issue.
The 2-step verification and app specific password worked for the (non-native) Youtube App on my iPhone 5.  But it did not work for the native Youtube app on the iPad.
Very frustrating that I cannot access my subscriptions on the iPad, as that's where I view Youtube the most :S

  • "playback error" in youtube app on iPhone 4S AND iPad

I am unable to view youtube videos on both iPads and iPhones in my house. Upated to iOS6 and in the past couple of weeks and have lost the ability to view youtube videos in safari. So, per some discussion boards, downloaded the youtube app and I get the "playback error" message on both phone and iPad. Has anyone discovered the issue or a workaround?

I had done all the above too. But the answer to my problem was to simply change the DNS server number (should have done this first when the "playback error"  persisted.:/).  Take a screenshot of your original DNS number for future necessity, then change it to OpenDNS..or google DNS...I used google DNS...for complete & thorough instructions..follow this site:--> http://www.macinstruct.com/node/558

  • Why can't I sign into the YouTube app. I just get authentication error

Why can't I sign into the YouTube app. I just get authentication error

No it isnt an issue with the youtube account- i have no problem signing in to youtube. I can even sign into the Google Youtube app.  What i cannot sign into is the Apple Youtube app- the one linked to by Safari when you click on a youtube video. Please help me solve this problem as your current answer isnt helpful, thanks

  • The YouTube app is giving me alot of video errors

I bought my 2nd generation itouch a few months ago. I've been using the YouTube app during those months. I started to notice that sometimes I get this message where it says that the video format isn't supported by the iPod or the video can't be played. I just replay the video and it's fine afterward. Now I play a video and when I get the message, the replaying the video thing doesn't work. So I go check on my laptop and see if the videos are there and are. Now when I play certain videos I get the same message repeatedly even if I do replay them. Has anyone else had this same problem?

Same problem here. Can't search, cant watch any videos. Most wieved is not updated. I wish Apple would come up with a solution. I do not want to call them and have to pay for any sollution they might have.

  • Why does the YouTube app say "Cannot Connect to YouTube" over Wifi or 3G?

    Hi, everyone.
When I open the YouTube app with Wifi or 3G, it says "Cannot Connect to YouTube."  I've browse a few sites, and the number one response is to reset the router.  I tried resetting the router (Latest Apple AirPort Extreme) to factory default and Restoring the iPad 2 from Backup.  I would believe the router issue to be plausible if 3G worked.  Since YouTube doesn't work over 3G, I don't believe the router is the issue.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you.

Me too, ipad mini can't get YouTube app to function via the official app and the same error message," ...tap to retry", but to no avail. The app launches but it will not allow me to sign in. The drop arrow just tilts up and down and ...nothing. I can still access YouTube through Safari browser but strange, I can't find a solution to the app not opening or being able to sign in on either ipad mini or phone even though they are up to date apps.

  • YouTube App : Cannot Connect to YouTube

I have had this problem for a while and cannot resolve.  There appears to be a fair few people with this issue and no resolution.
A few facts: My ipad is not jailbroken or interfered with in any way, I sync with a Windows PC NOT a Mac, ISP and router are fine, tried YouTube app on other wifi networks and same issue - still receive same error, iTunes works fine on both PC and iPad.  I have tried sync multiple times and reboots.  Safari can access YouTube web site - some videos do play and some not (i guess this is the flash issue - hence why I want the app to work)
Various other posts mention some sort of 'token' that YouTube may need however I have no idea how to check this or reset it.
Any help appreciated - ideally a step by step fix directly from Apple would be great.

Has anyone found a solution for this?  I have the same problem, same situation and tried the same remedies as the OP to no avail.  I really don't want to do a restore and lose the photos, notes and data on my phone.

  • Please i have a question about to YOUTUBE App.

    Dear all,
i have a question about YOUTUBE app.
    i have Iphone 3G.
as i use youtube a new error message has appeared "Cannot Connect to YouTube"
noted that i could't use YouTube before.
    Thanks ,
    Ashraf

I don't use that app. I just go to the web based site. You can share videos from the site, but not from the app, as far as I have been able to do. Try the web based version and see if you get the same error. Go through Safari is what I mean.

  • Built-in Youtube apps is extremely slow!

I have a 3GS and it is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi. There is no problem with the speed in terms of kbps. I used the built-in Youtube apps to search for videos and it is extremely slow. SLOW LOADING. On the other hand, using safari to 'youtube' is much more faster. What is the problem with the built-in Youtube apps?

    You are incorrect.
YouTube is not transcoding the video on the fly.
To the original poster- I have noticed this also.
Search through google or YouTube in safari-quick.
Search through YouTube app-very slow, if it does not throw up can't connect error.
This is something that recently started.
