Youtube is causing my video drivers to crash

I have a 21.5-inch Imac that I purchased mid 2012. I have created a windows 7 partintion on my computer using Bootcamp. Occasionally, Youtube will cause my video drivers to crash, which also causes my computer to crash. I have updated as much as I could with flash, windows, and my bootcamp drivers, but it still happens. I believe this is due to outdated video drivers, I happen to know that there has not been an update to the bootcamp video drivers since 2011, while AMD has a far more recent driver update. If anyone knows another solution to this problem please let me know; however, I believe the problem is the outdated video drivers. Apple very much needs to remedy this situation, even if it is nt causing my specific issue.

OK we all have acknowledged the problem, now are there any solutions out there besides switching to firefox? Does Safari have a Flashblock extension, are there any at the ap store, is there a work around or any other ideas? I do have one, if there are no other fix, then we must boycott youtube for the summer and try youtubes compitition. I know of three, never really gave them much of my time though. But seeing as how I'm being forced to by YouTube, I'm sure their compitition would appreciate their, umm, sporting gesture in forcing us to switch

  • Why does watching YouTube videos in Firefox cause my video driver to crash, but I can watch the same video in IE8 without a problem?

For the past few days, I suddenly can't watch any YouTube videos in Firefox without having the video driver crash every few seconds. The screen freezes too, and I have a hard time getting my cursor to the "X" to close the tab. One time it was so bad my computer crashed and rebooted.
I am able to watch the same videos in Internet Explorer 8 without any problems. I am also able, as far as I know, to watch videos in Firefox on other sites like CNN.com without any problems.
My computer information below looks correct. It's a Gateway Model#MX6453, my video driver is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150.

I fixed this by disabling hardware acceleration. YouTube videos seem to work fine now.
This link was provided in an other YouTube problem: Flash "Display settings" window:
I had to go to a site other than YouTube that had flash content (like a video on CNN.com), right-clicked on the flash video, selected "Settings" on the menu, then unchecked "Enable hardware acceleration" on the display tab. For good measure I closed Firefox and opened it again. Since then no more driver errors. (crosses fingers)

  • Tecra M3 video drivers causing crashes

My Toshiba Tecra M3 is crashing (freezing or blue screen of death) with drivers 71.14, 71.36, and 76.44. It uses an NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 TE 128M. When I uninstall all video drivers (or boot into safe mode), the laptop runs fine, although of course scrolling is deadly slow and I can't suspend or hibernate. But when I install either of the two WHQL certified drivers from Toshiba's site, 71.44 or 71.36, I can consistently create a crash just by running a 3D screensaver for more than 3 minutes. The same thing happens with the 76.44 non-WHQL driver from laptopvideo2go.com.
Sorry if this is not the best thread to post on, but I would desperately appreciate any help you can offer on what driver might work reliably. At this point, I'm not at all interested in great graphics performance; I just want a stable laptop to do some work on. Is there perhaps some setting within the driver to turn off whatever fancy features are causing the crash?
The laptop has a 2.13 GHz Pentium M and 2 GB of RAM. It's running WinXP SP2 with all updates and is using BIOS 1.20, the latest. And I doubt it's a related, but here's a different problem I ran into with the VPN, Wi-Fi, and Matlab.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Hi danhkon
I suppose that your notebook worked properly at the beginning. Can you maybe remember since when the unit started to make these troubles to you? It is not easy to give you a proper opinion or any kind of solution because every problem is caused by some reason.
First of all I want to say that you should use just display driver given by Toshiba and not some driver that you found on the net. The drivers that you got on Tools & utilities CD or drivers that you can find on Toshiba site are all tested and they should work properly. As far as I know Tecra M3 is a new model and also delivered with SP2. That means that all drivers are also tested to work properly with SP2.
Before you spend lot of times searching the right solution you should, in my opinion, save your data and reinstall OS using Recovery CD. On this way you will have a stable laptop to do some work on it. If there is no second partition you can make it for data saving using expert mode installation.

  • Video drivers crash on cs5

This past week my photoshop has been saying "Video drivers crashed" on startup, and I can't use scrubby zoom or any 3d features.  Every few startups photoshop also crashes.
I tried to update my video drivers, then I did a clean install of them, and no fix.  Then I reinstalled photoshop cs5 and still have the same problems.
Any ideas what could be wrong?  I doubt it is my video card as I have not had any other gpu related problems on anything else.

So you're running Catalyst 11.1 then?  Though I don't have the same card as you, I'm running Catalyst 11.1 (on a 4670) and have no problems.  That doesn't mean much except that ATI certainly can get OpenGL right in at least some of their cards.
Photoshop is clearly unimpressed with the OpenGL implementation on your system if the option won't stay set.
Have you looked at the temperature(s) of your card?  I think the Catalyst Control Center can show you that.
You might try a full remove and install of the Catalyst suite, though to be honest I've seen no failures and I've been through many different versions over the past few years.

  • Intel video drivers crash after update

    Hi all,
I have S540 ultrabook and I use it with onelinkdock with external screen and laptop screen in extend mode.
After 8.1 upgrade on boot I receive the error message "Catalyst Control Center stop working", but everythings works fine.
After Lenovo upgrade (including video driver) I don't receive the message anymore, but using the docking with extend screen, I face frequent black screen on external monitor. After few minutes also the main one became black and I got the message "intel video drivers crash and reset".
    Someone face the same issue?
    Thanks for your help

I'm having the same issue as well, I'm currently at work so as of right now I can't try to restore mine, but the strange thing with mine is that I updated mine the day the iOS 4.0 came out and had no problems until last night. Now the music and video sections keep crashing after just a few seconds. Also all my Podcast are gone, the only things missing and I even re-downloaded them last night and they're still gone.

  • Constant random BSOD happening due to video drivers

Since about June a bunch of PCs in our organizations have been crashing. After looking at the dmp files we see that either nVidia, intel, or directx caused the crash. We update the video drivers, but still the PC crashes. The PC would either be a Dell
(e6420, e6520) or Lenovo(T420s, W530). The majority of the dmp's have the words
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Any help will be appreciated, this has been plaguing us for months.

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault).  The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
    If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
            use .trap on that value
    Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
    Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.

  • Detecting outdated video drivers?

    Hi folks
I've just pushed out a large number of updates to a lot of workstations which were EXTREMELY out of date
And then I got burned by KB2670838 which causes some workstations with out-of-date drivers to crash
I now have a medium-sized disaster on my hands
It would be extremely helpful if I could get a list of all my workstations and their video drivers
    Is this possible with Intune?

OK, that definitely tells me what drivers are installed on a single system
However it's a highly manual process for one PC. I need to find out pro-actively where a specific incompatible driver has been installed on my network with about 300 workstations
To do this, I have to click on Groups --> All Devices --> All Computers --> Devices --> right-click a single computer and click "View Properties" --> Hardware and then scroll to Video Controller
to see if the date on the video driver matches the date on one of the incompatible drivers which I'm trying to eliminate
This is a pretty manual process and isn't practical when I've got 300 workstations to sort through
Is there no way to generate a report to extract this data?

Does the MS-6341 K7-Master support "GART" and what is "GART"

I returned my Nvidia GeForce4 Ti4600 PNY Verto back to PNY last year, after I had it for a few months, and it kept crashing at AGP 4x. They sent me a new one, I tried it at 4x, with the latest Nvidia Detonator drivers, I have tried it under fresh installs of Windows 2000 SP3, and WindowsXP, both crashing when the card is set to 4x. I believe there is major bugs in this board and it does not truly support AGP 4x. I am goin to try and RMA my board back to MSI, demanding a board that can support my card, or a suitable replacement that will support my current CPU and memory. This is the first MB I ever bought from MSI, and depending on how they resolve this situation, it will probably be the last. This is the 10th machine I have built on my own, I have just not had to time to deal with this issue, and have dealt with it at AGP 2x, but it is slow as hell, especially with games like Battlefield 1942.

  • Boot Camp - Lion / Mountain Lion latest video drivers Win 7 64-bit

I've been running Boot Camp on my late 2008 Mac Pro w/ OS X Lion and Windows 7 64-bit for some time now, no probs.  Two years ago I installed the Apple version of the Nvidia GT 120 video card...has been working like a charm.  Currently all latest OS updates are applied.
At issue: I'm trying to get a new plug-in for After Effects to install and it requires a more up-to-date video driver than the circa 2010 driver installed w/ Boot Camp (Leopard?).  When I upgraded to Lion, I assumed all latest drivers would be installed in Boot Camp, and I've seen no info on whether Mountain Lion would provide more current video drivers...running 'Update Driver' (just to see what would happen) within Windows 7 yields "You're using the latest driver", which is not actually correct, but may be in the 'Boot Camp ecosystem'.
Are there any ways I can reliably update the video drivers?  I know the retail/Nvidia latest is "296.10" from March, 2012...but likely that won't install or work properly in a Boot Camp setup (or am I wrong?).
Any info/ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Wait for GTX 670 down the road then.
You had to have used BCA, downloaded and then run the setup - you can even just navigate to, find Nvidia driver folder and check the Details of that. Or why bother, the real driver is Nvidia anyway.

Also, most every Mac Pro owner has needed to manually download and install RealTek driver too for audio out the back ports.
Go to www.realtek.com though instead of using MediaFire - they have started causing a lot of pop-unders and other adware that I find disgusting and questionable, even if the site and service needs "ad dollars" popups were something users ran from and why we (try) using and turning off all those things they manage to find ways around. And the malware/adware and SQL-injection schemes are still with us. So watch for and personally avoid MediaFire - might be paranoid but then I consider it reasonable caution.

  • Titler program causes cs5 premium pro to crash

I was in the middle of a project using cs5 premium pro and using titler with no problems.  There was a momentary power outage (don't know if this had anything to do with the problem) and computer rebooted without issue.  Next day when I went to use the titler program it froze the program and caused a shutdown.  Everything in premium pro works fine except the titler.  I reloaded the program, ran all windows updates, defragged, shut off virus protection and everything I can think of but still titler program causes a program freeze and shutdown.  When I click on an old title or click on new title, the title window comes up and then freezes.  If I click anywhere in the title window the program not responding window comes up and I have to shut down the program.  Any help or advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    I am running windows 7, 64.  I7, 12 GB ram and 1 TB.

Thank you for the reply.  I fiddled with windows for several hours and finally just reloaded it.  It fixed the problem so it was a windows problem not premier pro.  I only use this computer for video so it wasn't much hassle.  Thanks again.  Oh, I do have several drives to keep data on.  It is a necessity.  I really think I will go mac soon.

Check your fonts for corruption. 1TB does not mean a single disk, does it? You need at least two physically separate disks, but better 3.

  • Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.

    Hi all,
I hope you can help! Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I'm struggling to find the best place to put this.
    1. a summary of your issue
Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.
    2. the type of computer you use—Mac or PC?
    Desktop PC.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, all updates installed.
    3. steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
The problem occurs after installing Adobe Flash Player 15 Plugin to any browser (I mainly use FireFox). It's listed as Adobe Flash Player 15 ActiveX when I installed it for Internet Explorer.
Before installing it, I can hear the videos fine but I am limited to a maximum of 720p quality on YouTube.
I removed my sound and graphics drivers, after restart Windows 7 decides it will install them again but as the generic/universal ones. No change.
I've heard that because I have the Windows Aero theme activated, I need to disable hardware acceleration - tried this in various ways:
    a) Generic PnP monitor Troubleshoot tab - Change Settings button is greyed out (whether or not I have the real/generic/universal graphics drivers installed). Can't find a way through nVidia control panel to do this either.
    b) Disabled hardware acceleration in FireFox - no change.
    c) Found on your forum here that I can go to a page which will check my Flash version, in theory I could right-click it, hit Settings and disable hardware acceleration there - no "Settings" option in right-click menu. Seems the page has changed.
I can't seem to find a way to interface with Flash directly to disable hardware accelerattion - if this is indeed the solution.
Regardless of Windows Aero theme, I've got it on basic theme now and still the same problem.
I recently reformatted and re-installed my PC, it was working fine before I did this (maybe I had an old Flash release installed?).
I'm at my wit's end... please help!

Sorry, it's all sorted now. After re-installing the sound drivers, decided to tinker with the settings one by one. I had my Creative sound card in Game Mode, thus it was assuming 2.1 speakers aka headphones. Put it in Entertainment Mode and it recognised all the 5.1 speakers for flash videos. Doh!

  • Video drivers question

does the onboard chipset video need different drivers than the pcie cards , and does win vista 64 let you install 2 different video drivers ?

    You have three options:
    1)  Disable SLI and use 3 monitors on the VGA cards.
    2)  Keep SLI enabled and use 2 monitors.
    3)  Keep SLI and the onboard enabled with the risk of crashing.
This is a limitation of the driver/hardware and we can't really change that.

    Same driver.
I checked the driver, and they do both indeed use the same NV_disp driver:  (Pulled from the driver configuration file.)
    Code: [Select]
    NVIDIA_DEV.084D.01 = "NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI"
    NVIDIA_DEV.0614.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT  "

I recently had XP on my Macbook pro (Late 08) and wanted to update the nvidia GPU drivers. So all I had to do was get the "Correct" ones from the nvidia website and just installed them like normal.
That being said, I ran into some problems with Windows Vista 64. Constant crashing when booting into the desktop due to incompatible graphics drivers. So what I had to do there was enter the device manager and "Roll back" the graphics driver. THEN restart in safemode and install the updated graphics driver.
Maybe give that a try and see what happens? Hope we could help you...
    Tony

Okay. I got the video and audio all together. I told you I'd link to it when it was up.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxssYpUNJm8
There's also a copy of it at http://www.myspace.com/bonjimmy/
And as a quick side comment, even though I uploaded the same video to both YouTube and MySpace, the MySpace version is much better. YouTube must do something to the video after it's uploaded.
What I learned doing this project:
I recorded the video first (which gave me the sequencing of the piano performance) and then I dubbed the audio in later. However, there wasn't a good way to sync the video and the prerecorded piano, so there are some spots where the dubbed audio vocal isn't accurate to the video. I'm not sure what the pros do for this. I was hoping I'd remember how I sang for the video but when a couple weeks go by before re-doing the audio, it's about impossible. I tried, though.
I remember working with an old 4-track and smpte to a sequencer a long time ago. With the way it is now, it's pretty cool that you can record digitally and mix and match and everything falls together perfectly as long as you have a place to match the video and the audio. It's pretty cool.
    What else???
Does anyone have suggestions that would have made it better? Also, if you have suggestions on my performance or whatever, I'd love comments, but you can do that on the linked page.
Thanks again for all your help. (The point of the video is because I'm thinking about getting back out there and doing some more playing... I'm looking for a band or something else interesting...)
