Z30 Emergency Calls Only

Hi,
I have been using Z30 for about 3 months and it was fine until sunday. I made a call on sunday night before going to bed. When I wake up in the morning, to my surprise, i see the phone was switched to EMERGENCY CALLS mode. I swapped SIM, toggled airplane and Mobile Network. Even I tried the Network Selection mode to manual/automatic. Everything went unsuccessful.
I can use the same SIM in the other phone.
Please advise how the EMERGENCY CALLS only mode can be changed.
One more thing, 2 days before the phone OS was updated to 10.3.1.1767.

Can you try: Turn on Airplane mode --> Reset Phone (using either method I said earlier) --> Turn off airplane mode and check if signal is back ?
Also a couple of other quick questions. When you put network settings to "manual", does it show a list of available networks ?
Can you also tell me the Radio Version you have from: Settings --> About --> OS (from dropdown) ? Is it 10.3.1.2559 (just want to see if it same as my phone)

I have recently got an iPhone 4 out of no where it has decided to think that my headphones are in and they are not but does work with headphones in.

the same problem but i used it already for 3 years my iphone 4, when i update to ios 6.1.3 version, now is failure like said.

Phone says it needs to be restored and to connect to iTunes to restore. Emergency calls only. But nothing happens when i connect it to iTunes. What's going on?

Why can't I restore my iphone 4. it says to connect to itunes to restore and emergency calls only. But it doesn't restore.

Reboot your computer
Connect the USB end of the cable to a USB port directly on the computer, not a hub
Disable your firewall and antivirus
Launch iTunes
Disconnect the phone from the other end of the cable
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen goes black, then release the SLEEP button but contiune holding the HOME button
Connect the cable to the phone while still holding HOME
Wait for iTunes to recognize a phone in "recovery mode", then release HOME and your phone should restore.

"emergency calls only" - but only sometimes!

Hi everyone,
I bought the new iphone 4, and it worked just fine. The guy at the store (mobile phones store) inserted microsim, activated the device and everything was fine untill it was turned off by me. Then, when i would power it on, it would present the "emergency calls only" screen, but not allways! if you w8 for some time, try again, you can power it on normally, and again, if you power it down, and try again, guess what: "emergency calls only".
The craziest thing is that it gets the carrier signal once i turn it on successfully, but losses it after a few moments saying "no service".
Any idea on what could be the problem here?
i tried restoring with itunes, but except for losing all the data, it didn't really help....
do you think this is a sim card issue, or some hardware issue with the iphone?

Restore the device.
If "Find My iPhone" is activated on the device, wipe the device via iCloud.com and then restore it.

first of all the iphone 4 is not a 4G phone
second it sounds like your iphone could be locked to another operator then the sim you have inserted

This sounds like your device may be disabled and can only make emergency calls. Here is the article that I would recommend going through if this is the case.

Emergency call only mode, how to get out?

I was downloading the Samsung Kies app and then my phone went into Emergency call only mode. I have tried power down, take the battery out, reboot and recover mode and it comes back to the same, emergency call only mode. What do I do?

I also had this problem recently and did search on Google and found this very nice guide to handle a no service or emergency calls only issue. Hope this will help you too or other people who will have the same problem. Here is the link for that.

How to fix "No Network is available, Emergency call only"

I am overseas on business trip. I was able to text and received text for about 10 hours on landing. I had the global roaming activated before leaving US. IPhone 3G stuck on emergency calls only screen. HELP!

Hi everyone, I really need some help.
I bought my jailbroken iPhone 3G from Hong Kong on eBay a few months back. Everything was working fine on iOS 4.2.1, except the battery life was very poor. After getting the battery replaced there was no improvement. So my boyfriend suggested I try restoring the phone with iTunes as it was supposed to improve the battery life.
I plugged my phone in and went through the restore process, only to receive "iTunes Error 1015". After this my iPhone went into recovery mode and stayed put. I tried using a YouTube tutorial and TinyUmbrella to help me out of the error, but it only made my phone go to the "Emergency calls only" screen and now the phone will not appear in iTunes as it says the SIM card that has worked perfectly with iTunes every other time is not supported. I am at a total loss as for what I am meant to do. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

All sorts of things can go wrong with jailbroken phones, it's never a good idea to do so. Not to mention, it means you won't be getting much help on here.

Is this a language barrier problem or you just don't understand my instructions? The post is very clear.
Download and install JL_Cmder
Backup your device using Desktop manager if there is data on the phone you want to keep.
Use JL_Cmder application to "resettofactory"
Once it's done, if you need the data back, restore the backup file you made back to the device.

Thanks for the info! Are you able to unlock the device at all to access the settings menu? Do you have the Family Base feature active on your account? Do you recall how the device entered the Emergency call only mode?

Emergency calls only after OS upgrade

Hi,
After the last main OS upgrade my phone constantly switches from having a full single to "Emergency calls only", if i restart the phone it will sometimes pick the network up again.
I thought the issue was related to the sim card at first so i got this swapped at Vodafone however this has not ressolved the issue, driving me nuts any help would be great thank you

I think your solution is to upgrade the OS. If there isn't an official upgrade from your carrier, unofficial methods (Sachesi) may be what you want to do.

HT1212 My daughter's iPhone 4s is disabled. I've tried restoring it and at the end of the process iTunes on my Mac tells me to enter the passcode but the phone says Emergency Call Only, iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes. It says EMERGENCY CALL ONLY. HELP

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

No signal for over an hour now. Emergency calls only!

I've had no signal on my phone for over an hour now, states emergency calls only. I've tried rebooting it a few times but makes no difference. Anyone else experiencing this?
