Z3200 custom paper list vs. OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Hi. Since I did the upgrade  of OS X Yosemite to version 10.10.4, HP Utility is not able to syncronize the paper list already installed at our printers. Is someone experimenting the same issue? I would appreciate to hear from you how to solve this, before we rollback the OS version.  Firmware and HP utility are at the newest found at HP support center.

  • After installing Yosemite, my CS5 crashes when I try to set up a new custom paper size

I tried to set up a custom paper size with CS5 but my system crashes with "an unexpected system error has occurred". I have tried a reinstall of CS5 and also the latest Java update.

First of all, trash and refresh your Photoshop preferences.
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.

  • Problem Managing Custom Paper Size Using Epson RX500

Since updating my Mac to the latest version Yosemite, when I now try to Manage Custom Paper Size in the Epson print box via my Photoshop Elements 11, Photoshop crashes. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so have you found a solution please?

Hello Bridge. Thanks for the reply. I am not sure where the Elements Print dialogue is but, having come back to answer, I can see the "More like this" box on the right and viewing those posts confirms what you say. It would appear from one of the posts that Apple is aware of the problem and may be working on it. However, one of the posts opposite suggested using Print Preview to set the custom print size and print from there. I found this works for me. So, thanks again for your consideration. Regards. • How do I get OS X to ask printer for custom paper size

I am printing postcards.  These are 1/4 of a letter sheet, or 5.5" wide x 4.25" tall.
I have a commercial grade HP Laserjet 4350, and I've configured that size in its custom menu for tray 1 (the envelope feeder tray). The printer is happy.
I've also set a custom paper size in the MacOS, that I've called "Postcard Quarterpage" and I have that selected in the print dialog.  In fact I made it default.
However, under Paper Handling, it says "Destination paper size: Suggested paper: US Letter" and this is greyed out.  If I check "Scale to fit paper size" which I Do Not Want, then I can pick a variety of sizes.  However my custom size is not in the list.
This happens on all applications, so it is definitely OS X Mountain Lion (latest patch).
Anyway, the upshot is MacOS requests US LETTER size from the printer, so the printer goes "Take this postcard stock out and gimme US LETTER".    The printer can detect paper sizes.  If I try to give it postcards anyway, it blows an error and won't print, which is what it should do.
How do I get OS X to tell the printer "Gimme 5.5x4.25" like I've instructed it?

    Hi there Wolf!
I have a couple of articles here that I believe will help you out with your question. First, here is an article with some information on custom paper sizes:
OS X Mountain Lion: Manage custom paper sizes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10748
Note that in that article, it states:
Custom paper sizes aren’t available for some printers.
The reason for that is because this is controlled by the driver for the individual printer. You will want to make sure you have the latest version of the printer driver installed on your computer. More information on this can be found in the following article:
Printer and scanner software available for download
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669
It might also be helpful to reset your printing system to see if that will resolve the issue. More information on this process can be found here:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1341
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Scale to fit paper size (no custom paper size?)

I used to have a custom paper size called "No. 6-3/4 envelopes" defined under Page Setup. For example, in Pages I would adjust the document's page size to the size of my envelope (6.5 x 3.63 inches). However, to get it to print correctly, after selecting File > Print... I would need to select "Paper Handling" (dropdown) and check "Scale to fit paper size". Then select from "Destination Paper Size" (dropdown) my custom page size that I defined in Page Setup. It would appear as a custom size near the bottom of the list after all the standard sizes such as US Letter. By not doing this before printing a custom size envelope, my HP printer throws an error that it does not support the page size.
However, after upgrading to Lion, I'm not seeing my custom paper size underneath the "Destination Paper Size" list. It doesn't show any custom sizes I've defined from Page Setup as it did in 10.6 Snow Leopard. Is this a bug?

Nevermind, I seemed to have solved my own issue which drove me crazy for the last 30 minutes. By swapping the Width and Height for the custom size in Page Setup, it now seems to notice the custom size under "Destination Paper Size" again.

  • HP Photosmart C4488 all-in-one custom paper size issue.

Hello, I just bought a new HP photosmart C4488 from the store. Not exactly just, few days back. I need prints on custom paper sizes. Heres my problem
I have a paper, plain paper, of dimensions 11.2x19.1 cms (measured by normal drawing scale). I designed an image in Photoshop with the same dimensions and 300 dpi resolution. But when I try setting the custom settings to that dimensions, I can't press OK. See the attached image for more clarity.  Dimensions in the screenshot are different, but still I can't press OK there!
"Windows cannot detect any keyboard attached to the computer. Please press any key to fix the problem"

I had this same problem and discovered that what I had to do was give my custom size a name, then after you do that, you get the 'save' button and it will be listed among the seletions availabe under 'more.' I am not sure why it wouldn
t have been possible to have put a little note saying to name your custom size as the current method isn't intuitive. On the other hand, now that I have the size listed, I can't figure out how to actually get it to work as when I choose it, it tells me the size is incompatible with the paper type and does that for all the normal paper types! So I hope it works and better luck to you on this than I am having..

  • OTL: Timekeeper Layout, Custom Choice List

I have created a custom choice list on timecard. I have modified all templates (Time entry, confirmation, review and notification) I am using.
But when I create the timesheet through timekeeper I am not seeing those choice lists. How can I see custom choice lists on timekeeper.
I am using exception layout and we are on 12.0.4

Until 11.5.10.2, the custom choice lists done thru the LDT files are limited to self-service framework. Timekeeper customizations are handled via TK customization. It is documented in the implementing and using timekeeper white paper.

  • Alternate driver for 7520 that allows 'custom' paper size

I use photomerging to create panoramas that I want to print at 4 x 13 (or longer).  This was possible on my old Photosmart 6980 by using the 'Custom' paper size to add custom paper types to the choice list.  Unfortunately, my new 7525 (Costco's 7520) does not have the 'Custom' size option. I see in the Forum many complaints about this, and suggestions to install older drivers that did allow custom sizing.  What alternate driver should I use (older, or maybe newer), that will still make full use of the Photosmart 7520 photo-quality printing - the full "564" cartridge set with the photo-black ink along with the tri-colors ?

    Hi PrahaMama,
Sorry for the delay in reply.
The Photosmart C310a does have a driver download available, for you in Step 1 use this for a download: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers.
The steps should be the same for the rest of the setup even though you have Windows 8.

  • Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 Unable to print to Custom paper sizes

    Hi
I have a Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 laser printer that (since switching to mac from windows) is unable to print to Custom paper sizes (entered in the print dialog box from within photoshop CS3) and nothing will print from illustrator CS3 at all.
I have OS 10.5.2 with the 10.1 photoshop update, and the 13.0.2 illustrator update.
When I use to use windows xp & photoshop CS2 I didn't seem to have trouble with this function, but since jumping over to mac & CS3, I can't print on any paperstock other than the defult sizes listed (which it dose perfectly) - I've re downloaded & installed the printers driver, downloaded & installed a firmware update for the printer and tried printing with a network cable & usb cable - all with no luck. I've also tried entering in the custom paper size in the printers LCD panel & setting in as default but it still wants to print on A4 or A3 paper...
Any ideas out there would be appreciated!

so I've been pulling my hair out for 2 days & nights now trying to figure out why I couldnt print on custom paper sizes - I've just now hit the "help" icon in the print dialog box and found this:
    "Creating a custom page size
If you want to print on unusual size paper, such as an odd-size envelope or card, you may be able choose the paper’s size from the Paper Size pop-up menu. To find the Paper Size pop-up menu, choose File > Page Setup, if available. Otherwise, choose File > Print.
If you can’t find the size you need, you can create your own custom paper size.
To create a custom page size:
Open the document you want to print.
Choose File > Page Setup, if it’s available. Choose Page Attributes from the Settings pop-up menu, and then choose Any Printer from the Format For pop-up menu.
Choosing Any Printer ensures that your document can print on any printer that supports the paper size you select.
If Page Setup is not available, choose File > Print.
If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu.
Choose Manage Custom Sizes from the Paper Size pop-up menu.
    Click the Add button.
Type a name for the paper size.
Enter values in the Paper Size and Printer Margins field."
All I had to change was the "any printer" setting from my (konica minolta) printers name to "Any Printer"!! now my custom paper sizes are printing fine and dandy!! phew!!!!!!!!

  • Problems with custom paper sizes in Lightroom

Running Mac OS-X 10.9.3 (Mavericks). using an Epson Stylus Pro 3880, latest driver installed as confirmed by Epson tech support this morning. using Lightroom 5.4.
I only see this problem in Lightroom -  not in Photoshop - which leads me to conclude that the problem is not an Epson-driver problem.
    The problem is the following:
In the Print Module, I click on 'page Setup' bottom left. I define my custom paper size under 'Paper Size' -> 'Manage Custom Sizes'. Click OK.
I then enter 'Print Settings...' bottom left adjacent to the 'Page Setup' button. Select my printer, click on the 'Layout' drop-down list box button and select the 3rd tab in the list: 'Paper Handling'. Here is the problem: the 'Destination Paper Size' option is grayed out and unelectable, and incorrectly shows 'US Letter', which cannot be changed. If I click on 'Scale to fit paper size', and try to make a print to my custom paper that way, it still does not work: it only prints on a fraction of the whole paper.
I have also tried Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners to change the default paper size there, but it makes no difference - it still incorrectly shows as 'US Letter' in Lightroom.
This problem does not occur in Photoshop: In Photoshop, if you go to File -> Print in the menu, and then hit the 'Print Settings' button near the top, my custom paper size is selectable in the 'Paper Size' list box. So it is a problem which is specific to Lightroom.
Any help appreciated. I have spent most of the day on the phone to Epson and Adobe Tech Support, and no-one has been able to dove the problem
    Thanks,

I have had the same problem, and with the same result; Adobe Tech Support can't help or fix, after 15 hours on phone, Level 2 support. It is a software bug Adobe has, and can't seem to fix.  I just upgraded to Lightroom CC, and my problem migrated with the upgrade.  I print in Photoshop fine.
If you found an answer, I would appreciate  knowing how to do it!
    Thanks

  • B9180 Win 8 Print Prefs - no "Custom" paper size option

After moving to Windows 8, and loading the current driver, When I go to Print Preferences > Paper size options the dropdown box does not show "Custom".  Current paper suzesare listed, with "More" below the line.  Under XP, "Custom" was below the line and "More" was above the line.  So the way it sits, there is now way to add a custom paper size.  Am I missing soething?

  • HP 6510e not printing custom paper sizes

I have recently purchased a HP Photosmart 6510e printer. I called HP Tech support from the store where I bought the printer and specifically asked if this printer would print custom paper sizes. I was told it would. I tried to print an invitation on a paper size of 5.5  X  8.5. The printer keeps giving me an paper mismatch error. The paper size shows up in the list of paper sizes, but has an exclamation Point beside it. If I click on teh paper size it changes to 8.5 X 11.
i am using a PC with Windows 7 OS.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The Officejet 6510 software drivers for Windows does not have an option for custom paper sizes. I checked for the paper size (5.5x8.5) you were trying to print on and it is not an option under the paper sizes. The only option is probably to have your printer replaced with a comparable Laserjet printer. Laserjet printer have a different software package and the one I checked (Laserjet Pro M275) has a Custom option.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter & custom paper sizes

Have found all the helpful instructions about creating new custom paper sizes in Windows 7. But am complete novice & need to buy a printer for a charity. Settled on this model because of good reviews but most work will be 1 document of custom paper size. Need to know if the instructions given are fail-proof!! (Before i spend their money.)

    Hello invqn,
after having performed some detailed research, as well as installing the Pro 8100 (and other products) on a Windows 7 system, we determined the Pro 8100 doesn't support Custom Sizes:  that was by design and intent.
Note that one of our engineer's proposed using a different set of drivers (from an older device) as a potential work-around, but this is unproven and may serve to limit your overall functionality of the device.
However, we did confirm that a newer device that is currently out, the HP Officejet Pro 8610 (or 8620 or 8630) e-All-in-One, DOES support custom sizes; these are multi-function printers.
Using the instructions in the link you sent, you can create new Forms with custom sizes and it will show up in the Printer Properties for you to use/select. It supports custom sizes from 3.00 x 5.00 in. to 8.50 x 14.00 in.
Our intent is only to provide information on what we know; you might take a moment and perhaps see if an HP Marketing representative might be able to give you more information, but that's what we have.
       We hope this helps....
