Zagg HD on EVO LTE

On my EVO LTE my screen goes black during a call. I've read the proximity sensor can be covered by screen protectors. BB installed the Zagg HD on my phone. Android Central says some of the early screen protectors covered the proximity sensor. Anyone had that issue?

Issue is still  not fixed. I had BB put a new protector on that Zagg sent me, still the screen goes dark. It happened without a protector on the phone. BB says it's working normal, same from HTC. The screen is designed to come on when it's moved from your face, mine isn't, i need the keyboard so the screen has to come on to use the keyboard. I'm on my 2nd phone so BB won't exchage it again.

  • EVO LTE connection issues

I found this interesting. I'm having problems with connection on my phone. I had a EVO Shift, no connection issus.
After pointing out our own findings as well as the forum complaints, Sprint communications manager Natalie Papaj replied, “We are aware of the issue and are currently investigating it. I will keep you posted as I know more.”
    This is on  http://www.techhive.com/article/2000138/htc-evo-4g-lte-signal-woes-confirmed.html

These are indeed hardware limitations so flashing new software won't solve anything unfortunately.
There are different versions of the Z3+ intended for different markets (different bands). The Xperia Z3+ dual/E6533 supports the following bands:
    GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz UMTS HSPA+ 850 (Band V), 900 (Band VIII), 1700 (Band IV), 1900 (Band II), 2100 (Band I) MHz TD-LTE (Band 38, 39, 40, 41) FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)
If your operator uses these bands there shouldn't be any issues.

  • Tips and Reviews of the HTC EVO 4G LTE

I am starting this thread for those that are starting to recieve their 4G LTE.
If you have your EVO LTE already and want to share your reviews, or any tips you have already found, please do so.  That way we can all help each other again.

I don't think they know... I am betting HTC had the Sprint shipments move to the front of the line and they got the first batches of phones that cleared customs... I read somewhere that they test one phone from every box/case shipped in before clearing them. All I know is my preorder with Best Buy still says back ordered and the preauthorization on my credit card is gone now (but those usually go away in 10 days anyway) but since Sprint isn't taking any more orders right now and no one else has them in stock all you can do is WAIT.... Sucks but I bet no one at Best Buy knows a true date and they don't want people to start canceling...

  • HTC Evo 4g LTE preorder

I was wondering if anyone had any updates about the Evo Lte preorder for Bestbuy. Sprint has already started their preorder as of 5 min from now. I have bought my last 3 phones from Bestbuy because I love their BlackTie protection and buyback program. I have been waiting 2 years to upgrade my original evo and do not want to take a chance on firstcomefirstserve. I remember the first Evo was on backorder for months for the folks that didnt preorder. If I dont get any info from BB soon , I will have to preorder from Sprint.

  • Activation fee for trading in faulty phones?

I was going to try and trade in my EVO LTE for the Galaxy but my 30 days will probably be up before Best Buy has stock for trade in. I realize if I switched phones I would have to pay an additional activation fee. But is there an additional fee if you have a faulty phone that you are replacing with the same phone?
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hello shadowhawk2020,
If you're looking to return your Evo LTE for any reason, we ask that you do it with in the first 30 days (45 days for Reward Zone Premier Silver members). Once the 30 day return period has expired, we would need to work with your manufacturer to repair any defects under it's warranty.
I would recommend stopping by the mobile desk at your local Best Buy for help before the return period is up.

  • Can we please hear from Management on the HTC EVO 4G LTE Status

I am starting this post as a hope to actually get some sort of status update on the HTC EVO 4G LTE release.
I think I speak for the techno philes out there that are waiting for and pre ordered the device.  Back on the 17th we were disappointed with the information of the delay.  As with most of the techno philes in the world I have been following the news and blogs surrounding this situation.
On Sunday we were greeted by the news that customs had released some of the devices, and than the news that Sprint would be shipping the phones by May 24th.  Than in one blog I saw this statement which concerned me.
"So if you have ordered it outside of Sprint such as at Best Buy or Amazon, you will probably have to wait a few more weeks before you get your hands on your HTC Evo 4G LTE." the droid guy, http://thedroidguy.com/2012/05/sprints-htc-evo-4g-lte-coming-to-pre-order-customers-on-may-24th/
I think we would all appreciate some sort of statement from Best Buy.  Some information with anything would be better than living in a vacuum of information.
Those that have pre ordered through Best Buy, and read this forum are loyal and avid Best Buy customers and to be honest I think we deserve some information.
I don't mean to rude or short, but if it is true that direct Sprint customers receive their phones this week and we are left waiting days or even weeks for the device, something needs to be rethought.
Again this is a plea for information more than anything.

I don't think they know... I am betting HTC had the Sprint shipments move to the front of the line and they got the first batches of phones that cleared customs... I read somewhere that they test one phone from every box/case shipped in before clearing them. • Evo 4G LTE Back Ordered?

I pre-ordered the HTC Evo 4G LTE the first morning it was available (5/7) and now the order status id 'Back Ordered'?
Is this really the case? I just logged in to see if there was a ship date yet and saw this. Annoying if true.

Dan, I will wait for a while as this is the only phone that has really caught my interest since the original Evo 4G 2 years ago. My issue if you look at my original post had nothing to do with the delay, in fact I posted it well before I ever heard about that.
My problem is with Best Buy and the way they have handled this order since I placed it. I only looked at the status this week and saw it listed as back ordered, but I suspect it has said that almost since the moment it was placed. I have a co-worker that placed an order the same morning and it went to backordered status at once.
I posted here and emailed the online store address and asking about it before the news of the customs delay came out. That was Tue afternoon. To date the closest I have to any kind of response from Best Buy is you post above.
I did get this right after I sent the email:

  • EVO 4G LTE - deal verification

I've seen a lot of conflicting information regarding the deals available for purchasing the EVO 4G LTE from Best Buy. I'm upgrading from an EVO 4G and plan on turning my phone in for the trade-in offer. I also pre-ordered my new phone in the store. I believe this means that I will receive a $50 credit (for the trade-in, regardless of phone condition) and a $50 GC (for pre-ordering my phone in store), thereby bringing my total cost to $99.99. However, the guy in the store had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about the GC. Am I missing something here?

I pre oreder my phone one 5/12/12 at my local store on Thursday they received  4 phone in for pre orders and I was the 5th pre order.
Does any one know when stores will be getting more phones?
Can I cancel my pre order and return my gift card if it does not come in the next couple days?

  • Sprint EVO 4G LTE

i am eligible for an upgrade, and i wanted to buy it off of best buy because it's 100 dollars less than sprint itself.
but i just want to know if i will in fact be ONLY charged for the phone and the 10 dollar premium a month fee. i don't want my plan changed other than that. AND i want to know if buying it from best buy will make it so i can't have sprint insure it. do i need best buy to insure it if i buy it from them
? please answer! i want to order this phone. thank you!

Your plan will be the same as it is through Sprint. You can still opt for Sprint's insurance if you like, but the Geek Squad Protection does offer some advantages, such as a $0 deductible. See an associate in your local store for more information!

  • EVO 4G LTE Cleared and SHIPPING....

Since it has just been announced that the phone has cleared Customs and is now shipping, when should I expect my local BBM to have the phone available to pick up my pre order?

Best Buy does not rely on Sprint for distribution, so since they were already locked down for the launch date, I don't foresee any other delays.

  • EVO 4G LTE vs Galaxy s3

Anyone know which camera works better for 1080p video?

I just had that problem and I powered down the phone and took the sim card out.  Then I turned the phone on without the card and powered down. After that, I re-inserted the sim card and powered up and I got 4g back and has been working for a few hrs now.  I'm hoping that this is not going to be a recurrence because this phone will quickly become a flying object.
