ZCM 11.3.1 and Virtual Appliance
Hi,
Whats the deal with 11.3.1 and the Zenworks VA? Will a new VA get released and/or is it possible to upgrade the 11.3 VA that is available to 11.3.1 somehow?
I have a primary server that is running 11.3.1 and I want to bring a VA in as a secondary but I can't during the initial setup wizard - I get a version incompatibility message.
Thanks!
[Edit]
I just found this post.
https://forums.novell.com/showthread...46#post2336946
So it seems that updating the VA is not the way things are done.
Can anyone tell me then if a 11.3.1 VA can be expected then?

You can update your ZEN11.3 appliance by downloading 11.3.1 and following the instructions on the page: http://download.novell.com/Download?...d=msTorBwk3EA~
After that I would recommend that you also apply 11.3.1FRU1: http://download.novell.com/Download?...d=-kBaPv9BaQk~

Can ISE 1.2 Virtual Appliance assign VPN address pool like ACS does?
Dear friends,
I have observed that Cisco ISE Virtual Appliance (VMware) can act as a RADIUS server in the same manner as ACS does, but I cannot find the way of assigning an IP address to a remote VPN client (only assigning a VLAN).
At this point I don't know if it is strictly necessary to have the IP address assignment for the remote VPN clients done in the external firewall (i. e. Cisco ASA) in this case.
Is there any way of defining an IP address pool in the ISE itself for VPN clients authenticated against that ISE?
If the answer is not, which ones could be the options for that assignment other than the ASA pool assignment? Could it be possible defining the corresponding address pool in an internal DHCP server that could provide the IP address to the VPN client after successful authentication through ISE?
Any help would be really appreciated to clarifying these questions.
Thank you and best regards. Please find the link below for the may help you to get the answer related to comparision and even for deployment.

Error when installing virtual appliance for r12.2.4
Hello
I have downloaded Oracle Virtual Appliance for Oracle E-Business r12.2.4 in a following step by step manner but I am running into an error. As per the readme, I have gone through the Note:1928303.1 but it does not address the issue.
That said, is there any comprehensive, step by step document that outlines installation and implementation of Oracle Virtual Appliance for r12.2.4?
Below are steps I ran.
Step 1: Downloaded and Installed Oracle Virtual Box version 4.3.22.
Step 2: I want to install Oracle EBS r12.2.4 single node installation on My Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop with 1 TB of HDD and 8GB RAM.
Step 3: Downloaded following files for single node vision appliance.
There are two zip files for each part, so I downloaded total 16 zip files.
V52470-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 1 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52471-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 2 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52472-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 3 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52473-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 4 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52474-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 5 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52475-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 6 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52476-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 7 of 8) Linux x86-64
V52477-01 Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.4 Single Node Vision Install X86 (64 bit) (Part 8 of 8) Linux x86-64
Step 4: Unzipped these files
Step 5: After unzip, unzipped filename looked like following. So I removed the last digit in the extension so that Oracle virtual box can recognize .ova extension.
Unzipped file name:
Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.01
renamed to
01_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova
Step 6. In Oracle virtual box, attempted to import these ova files using "Import Appliance". This is when I am getting following error.
Oracle VM Virtual Appliances for Oracle E-Business Suite (Linux)
Failed to import appliance C:\ova\EBS\INSTALLATION OPTIONS\Option 1 Single Node ALL\0_Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL.ova.
Could not create the imported medium 'C:\Users\ova\VirtualBox VMs\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk'.
VMDK: Compressed image is corrupted 'C:\Users\ova\Oracle-E-Business-Suite-12.2.4_VISION_INSTALL-disk1.vmdk' (VERR_ZIP_CORRUPTED).
Result Code: (0x80BB0004)
Component: Appliance
Interface: IAppliance {3059cf9e-25c7-4f0b-9fa5-3c42e441670b}
This is happening with each and every file in above list.
Please advise what am I missing? And if there is a comprehensive document somewhere that outlines details about implementation. The above mentioned metalink note is not enough.
DarshYou need to merge all of the downloaded files first, before importing into Virtualbox. Google for my blog for detailed steps.

I'm trying to create an "ExtraLarge" VM with multiple NICs. The New-AzureVM returns the following error:
BadRequest: Virtual machines with secondary network interfaces and virtual machines with no secondary network
interfaces are not supported in the same deployment, also a virtual machine having no secondary network interfaces
cannot be updated to have secondary network interfaces and vice-versa.
But I have no other VMs. Or at least I did and then deleted them and all their disks. The service has no deployments (either staging or production).
Why is New-AzureVM complaining about a mismatch of VMs with and without secondary network interfaces when no other VMs exist?
I have tried many things to fix this, including the deletion of ALL of my resources. I have deleted and created the service many times, both with an affinity group and without. I have a screen print of the -debug output if your interested.
Thanks for the outstanding help.Hi Ron,
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not post the CONFIDENTIAL DETAILS ever on the public forums, this is HIGH RISK action.
Please send an email with your contact details to my email

LMS 4.2.2 virtual appliance fresh install : DCR Server Error
Hello,
I have installed a new version of LMS 4.2 on virtual appliance (VMware 4.1) and I have an issue.
When I go the "Device Administration --> Manage Device State" I have the following error :
Server Error
Error
Error in communicating with DCR Server. For more details click here.
DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh the page.
Following the details link I have : (I did all the check written below).
DCR Server Error
The communication error may be due to the following reasons:
The DNS resolution does not match with server assigned IP Address. Workaround: DNS resolvable IP Address should be same as server IP Address. DHCP is enabled in the server. Workaround: DHCP should be disabled in the server. The server’s original IP Address may have changed. Workaround: Restart Cisco Prime Daemon Manager. CTM registry corruption has occurred due to rebooting the server without stopping the Cisco Prime Daemon Manager. Workaround: Delete the ctmregistry and ctmregistry.backup file in NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/LIB and then restart the Cisco Prime Daemon Manager. DCR Server and related process might be down. Workaround: Check the processes to make sure DCR Server is running, and restart it if not. The hostname change is not done by the hostnamechange.pl in LMS. Workaround: Hostname change should be done using NMSROOT/bin/hostnamechange.pl in LMS. LMS self signed certificate would have been expired. Workaround: Regenerate the certificate and restart the daemon manager.
I try to reinstall LMS 4.2 with or without patches 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 I always have the same problem. The DCR server process is running.
Here the result of the show application status LMS in SSH :

Thanks for the quick reply!
1) I checked files - and indeed, the third link of the file was empty.
I restored contents of the same test server (as an attachment - original files) - now everything is working fine. Many thanks for your advice!
Because of what could this happen?
Current settings are as follows (i did not change them):
[lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/shared/lib/ctm_config.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 casuser casusers 1037 Jul 22 13:54 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/shared/lib/ctm_config.txt
[lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/lib/ctm_config.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 casuser casusers 1084 Jul 22 13:54 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/lib/ctm_config.txt
[lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/lib/ctm_config.txt
-rwxr-xr-x 1 casuser casusers 1104 Aug 20 12:07 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/lib/ctm_config.txt
2) It was also noted that if address on the link "Inventory>Device Administration>Discovery>Schedule", then an error message appears:
Error
Error in getting the Discovery configuration information, please configure Standard / Custom Discovery and start the schedule.
- no any records for Discovery Schedule and not accessible button Add (for add new Discovery Jobs).

LMS 4.2 virtual appliance: How to export archive devices configs on a network drive
Hello,
I will install a new LMS 4.2 based on a virtual Linux Red Hat appliance.
I would like to export archive devices configurations based on /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/shadow on an external drive.
Do we have embedded tools on LMS 4.2 Linux to share a network drive or do we use NFS commands ?
Thanks for your help.
Patricethere are no such embedded tools.
I am awaiting Ciscos return with a solution for bringing the backup out of the VA (Virtual Appliance) and to a safekeeping place.
Same issue all around - the VA is now a client only !
I saw a hack around the SCP user inorder to use WinSCP for faster file browsing etc, and that might work, but I want a supported fix for this issue. And by that I mean Cisco needs to tell me what can be done and how its supported.
please share any knowledge you might get on this topic. -
Demo License key issue in Cisco Content Secuirty managment Virtual appliance
Hi,
I have installed a Cisco content security management appliance for customer evaluation. I have downloaded 45 day demo license key but unable to update the license key neither in GUI nor in CLI. I have referred installation guide and user guide but did not helped at all.
Snapshot from GUIWould suggest to re-copy and paste the XML license - as most likely you have extra white space that is causing the malform when pasting/loading. If using Windows, try avoid using wordpad --- and use Notepad++ or similar.

Virtual appliance oel5u5-64bit-soabpm-11gr1-ps5-2-0-M: Can't deploy
Greetings,
After having installed the mentioned virtual appliance and created the dev_bpm domain, trying to deploy from Jdeveloper to app server raises the following:
[04:55:41 PM] Deploying profile...
[04:55:42 PM] Updating revision id for the SOA Project 'SalesQuoteToContractDemo.jpr' to '1.0'..
[04:55:43 PM] Wrote Archive Module to /home/oracle/jdeveloper/mywork/FusionNX_Application/SalesQuoteToContractDemo/deploy/sca_SalesQuoteToContractDemo_rev1.0.jar
[04:55:43 PM] #### Deployment incomplete. ####
[04:55:43 PM] No SOA configured servers found for deploying the archive file:/home/oracle/jdeveloper/mywork/FusionNX_Application/SalesQuoteToContractDemo/deploy/sca_SalesQuoteToContractDemo_rev1.0.jar
(oracle.tip.tools.ide.fabric.deploy.common.SOARemoteDeployer)
It seems that the admin server in the dev_bpm domain is not configured for SOA. However, the documentation says:
"This domain is configured using the development template for SOA and BPM, which targets all the SOA and BPM applications to the AdminServer."
What am I doing wrong ?
Kind regards,
NicolasDoes any body feel concerned ?

I have downloaded the 16 pieces of Oracle VM Virtual Appliances for Oracle E-Business Suite (12.2.4) for x86 64 bit V52470-01 Parts 1 & 2 thru V52477-01 Parts 1 & 2 and unzipped and created the .ova.
I then imported that into VBox 4.3.22.
I went thru and changed the passwords for root, oracle, and applmgr as requested and entered a static IP.
I have not configured the DB or Applications yet.
However, I want to know if there is a typical GUI Desktop that can be brought up.
Thank you.I have not been able to find a GUI desktop - I believe it is disabled or not included in the media.

Diagnostics / Connectivity from virtual appliance to vcenter Server FAILED
Hi,
I'm currently tryining to setup the Support Assistant (VSA) in our vSphere 5.1 environment. Registration to the vCenter was successful after some initial troubles. But when wunning thie VSA Diagnostics it fails at one point:
Connectivity from virtual appliance to vcenter Server FAILED
But on the VSA's console I can connect to the vCenter
- name resoluttion is OK
- vCenter is pingable
- wget https://vcenter.domain.local brings up an error regarding the vCenter's certificate:
ERROR: cannot verify vcenter.domain.local's certificate, issued by `/O=VMware, Inc./OU=vCenterServer_2012.10.22_111554/CN=vcenter.domain.local/emailAddress=[email protected]': Unable to locally verify the issuer's authority.
ERROR: certificate common name `VMware default certificate' doesn't match requested host name `vcenter.domain.local'.
- wget https://vcenter.domain.local --no-check-certificate works. Turns the errors above into warnings but connects and downloads the index.html.
What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated!Opened a SR with VMware and they've provided me with an unofficial updated version of the Support Assistant. This one fixed the failing connection to our vCenter. Now diagnostics fails on trying to connect to VMware, its working though. It's confirmed by VMware that this is just a cosmetic issue.

Upgrade path from Riverbed Whitewater V110 to AltaVault Virtual Appliance
Hi,
We have users on the V110 model of the virtual appliances of Whitewater (Riverbed edition) that haven't transitioned to the NetApp varients as yet.
What would be the upgrade path if they wanted to keep running a virtual on-premise SteelStore/AltaVault?
Would there need to be an intermediate step to SteelStore 3.2 between Whitewater (3.1.2a) and AltaVault?
Thanks
GarthHi Garth,To get to the AltaVault release, you'll do this in 2 phases. 1. Upgrade the software. This is done by downloading the 3.2.2 code from mysupport.netapp.com and then installing it on the current v110. Use the Configure > Maintenance > Service page to stop the optimization service, then use the Configure > Maintenance > Software upgrade page to update it with the downloaded image. Reboot after the update is done. 2. Migrate to AltaVault software. This is done by following the instructions in Appendix A. of the Install Guide for Virtual Appliances:https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP12455064 Regards,Christopher

Cisco ISE Virtual Appliance HyperV Support
Hi,
ISE Virtual Appliance Supports VMWare ESXi as Hypervisor. Is there any Plan on the roadmap that ISE will be supported on HyperV (or possibly XEN) in the future, because some customers don't have VMWare but using only HyperV.
The same question may be for other Virtual Appliances as well such as vWAAS, vASA etc.
Best Regards,David,
There is currently no documentation on this process. This is not a supported installation/upgrade/migration path so, therefore, any documentation would be third party, prepared by the partner or end user that has done this.
If you're starting from a VM, you have the wrong approach. You'll want to install from .iso for best results.

Hi all,
Oracle VM Virtual Appliances for Oracle E-Business Suite Deployment Guide, Release 12.2.4 (Doc ID 1928303.1)
The docs said that:
But when I login to root on my VM system, and run :
[root@db etc]# cat /etc/oracle-release
Oracle Linux Server release 6.6
Does this mean the doc is not updated? or the /etc/oracle-release is not updated?
Please help how to check.
Thanks a lot,
mkHi,
I know that this is an old discussion and you probably figured out the answer yourself.
Just to publish an answer and close it, the document is not up to date with the software you downloaded.
Nothing to worry about.

Question about ANM Virtual Appliance ESX support
Hello,
I have a question:
I need to install ANM 5.2 on a virtual appliance (using the .ova file).
What ESX and vSphere versions does ANM 5.2 support?
I don't see any information regarding this on the release notes or installation guide.
Thanks.Looks like the only requirement is Vcenter and Vsphere 4 client. So version 4.0 and up is supported.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/application_networking_manager/5.1/device_support/table/sdt.html
ANM 5.2 and 5.1 includes a plug-in that allows you to integrate ANM into a VMware virtual data center environment. VMware is a third-party product for creating and managing virtual data centers. Using VMware vSphere Client, you can access ANM functionality and manage the ACE real servers that provide load-balancing services for the virtual machines in your virtual data center.
To use the ANM 5.2/5.1 plug-in, you must use VMware vCenter Server and VMware vSphere Client 4.
For more information about using ANM in a VMware virtual data center environment, see the User Guide for the Cisco Application Networking Manager 5.2/5.1.
