  • Can't open forms nor refresh to Essbase after a migrate and upgrade

Migrated and upgraded from 9.3 to 11.1.2.1 by replacing and upgrading SQL-repository (thanks to John Goodwin for idea and instructions).
This method has worked in two out of three cases.
In this third case I have two problems:
Can't refresh to Essbase nor open the forms: (com.hyperion.planning.HspException: An error occurred while updating the relational database. See log for details.)
Can't open the forms: (An error occurred while processing this page. Check the log for details)

  • Database Migration and upgrade

    Hi,
We are planning to migrate the data center to new location. The new data center already have the hard ware. We have to move the data dump and upgrade the Database. Our most DB are on Oracle
10g Solar UNIX and the new hardware is on Oracle 11.2.0.4 with Linux (Oracle or Redhat Linux). The following activity needs to be done:
    1) Taking the export on existing database.
    2) Moving the export dump to new location, along with the archived data which is stored in the tape. (this is where a suggestion required most on different ways of doing that).
    3) Importing and upgrading the database in new location.
Could some one please suggest the strategy and helpful tool which for performing this activity.

Are you expected to move all 100+ databases in a 48 hour window with datapump ? That is a tall order
What is the network capacity (i.e. how fat is the pipe) between the two locations and how far apart are they ? Typically, there should be no data loss or corruption when transferring files over a network. The time required to move/upgrade a 300G database can only be determined by performing a test upgrade that closely resembles production environment.

  • Transportable tablespaces for migration and upgrade

    Hello All,
I'm trying to find out some theory about transportable tablespace and upgrade in a single step. I've to move a DB from a Windows server to a Linux server. Win is running 10.1 and Linux 10.2 . It's possible to use RMAN to migrate the whole database and then on new node run startup upgrade and catupgrd.sql to upgrade catalog ?
    Should work?
    Thanks
    Raj

The following doc for TDB says :-
"Note: TDB requires the same Oracle Database software version on the source and target systems; hence, a database upgrade cannot be accomplished simultaneous with the platform migration. However, best practices for a database upgrade, as documented in the Oracle Upgrade Companion, also apply to any planned database maintenance activity, including platform migration."
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/pdf/MAA_WP_10gR2_PlatformMigrationTDB.pdf
There is also an Oracle Whitepaper called "Database Upgrade Using Transportable Tablespaces: Oracle Database 11g Release 1" but I am still trying to find a copy.

  • MIGRATION AND UPGRADE NOT IN PLACE

We are in processes to migrate from two box to new one.
    FROM
    1) AIX 4.3.3 32b 8.1.7.4 32b
    2) AIX 4.3.3 64b 9.2.0.5 64b
    TO
    3) AIX 5.1 64b 9.2.0.6 64b
After reading the following notes: 210073.1 223521.1 159657.1 from Metalink.
I understand this is the migration path:
    a) 8.1.7 32b aix 433 32b -> move DFs(clone)-> 8.1.7 32b aix 5L 64b
    b) 8.1.7 32b aix 5l 64b -> migrate in place->9.2.0.6 64b aix 5L 64b
    c) 9.2.0.5 64b aix 433 64b -> move DFs(clone) -> AIX 5L 64b
    d) 9.2.0.5 64b aix 5L 64b -> upgrade in place -> 9.2.0.6 64b AIX 5L 64b
    Here! I have some questions:
    - The obvious: THIS IS A RIGHT PATH!?
    - I really need open the database with 8.1.7.4 32b AIX 5.1 after upgrade to 9.2.0.6?
    - Could be possible, applies the upgrade directly on the 8.1.7.4 32b DFs on AIX 5.1?
    - The same questions to 9.2.0.5 64b AIX 4.3.3 64b.
    - Coexists with the pw-syscall64 (required for 8.1.7 32b AIX 5L) and the 9.2 software on AIX 5L.
    Tx in advance,
    DL.

    Hi Chris,
You are right sir, it is definitely an add-on install that requires a separate installation & license key, in order to utilize the functionality. I would see if the two notes that Sebastian suggested does the trick. However, I know you said they weren't installed previously, they might still reside down there and can at least get rid of the icon for you.
If that doesn't work, I would second your notion of what you stated, try to install the base 4.1 install first. My suggestion would be to uninstall it and clear out everything in the install directory, make sure nothing is left behind (If you're comfortable with it, I'd also suggest clearing out relevant entries in the registry. Some people don't like to do it, I'll only suggest it, if you're comfortable with it). Deploy the webapps into the Tomcat server, after the base 4.1 install, pull up the BI Launch Pad, and see if the same icon appears.
At least, this way, you can get an idea if something is going on with the base install versus the SP1 upgrade. If nothing else, until a definitive solution is found, you can always ensure that users don't have explicit permissions to that application.
Hopefully one of the two does the trick for you.

  • New-GL Migration and Upgrade together is possible??

    Dear NewGL gurus.
Currently, our customer who uses SAP Enterprise version is
considering to do the upgrade from Enterprise to 6.0
and migration to New-GL at the same time with migration scenario 4.
I knew that "SAP strongly recommends the migration as independent project".
But, as long as I read the documents, it seems possible technically.
    So, my questions are
    1. If this customer does the upgrade and migration at the same time,
can they take SAP Migration Service from SAP AG properly?
    2. SAP mentioned the reasons for this strong recommendation
    such as
    - 'migration is not only technical transfer'
    - 'migration is conceptual change'.
However, I think the same thing can be said for upgrade project as well.
So, is there any other reasons for this recommendation?

  • Lightroom Migration and Upgrade

I have Lightroom 3 on my existing Windows XP PC, and I now have a new Windows 8 PC that I want to migrate to.  As part of the switch I want to upgrade to LR4, so I am planning to buy an upgrade version of LR4.
Do I have to install LR3 on the new PC before I can install the upgrade licence, or is just having the existing serial number sufficient?
If I have to install LR3 first, what is the process for migrating it from one PC to another?
    Thanks

  • SCSM Migration and Upgrade

We are currently planning to upgrade to SCSM 2012 R2, from SCSM 2010.  We would like to use all new servers and accounts in the new environment but still want to retain the old data.  I have not found good documentation on how to accomplish this.
The best solution I can come up with is to do a DR migration of the databases to the new SQL server and then install SCSM 2012 R2, telling it to use the existing databases instead of creating new ones.  Does anyone know if this will work?

if you don't need to change the management group name, my suggestion would be to upgrade your current servers to 2012 and then depending on your data retention settings either rebuilt the DW on a new server and turn off the old one(if you still have all
of your historical data in the Operational DB) or follow the DR steps to move the DB.
Once you have your DW server migration complete install a new Management server and make the required changes to move the workflows to the new Management server then you can decommission the current management server.
another option depending on the number of classes you want to migrate you could look at exporting the data to csv and then doing a csv import.

  • E-Business Suite R12.1 on Exadata with Database Rel 12c - Upgrade and Migrate, or Migrate and Upgrade

    Given:
    E-Business Suite R12.1 running against non-RAC database release 11gR2
    Aspiration:
E-Business Suite R12.1 running against database release 12c RAC on Exadata
In the context of Oracle best practices, what would be a preferred approach for the database tier to meet the above aspiration, i.e. (a) Upgrade database on source and then migrate to Exadata OR (b) Migrate database to Exadata and then upgrade ?
Appreciate thoughts from community members/Oracle support.
    Thanks,
    Rakesh

    Rakesh,
It is necessary to refine Srini's statement:
EBS does not need to be "certified" on Exadata.  See:
Running E-Business Suite on Exadata V2
    https://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/entry/e-business_suite_exadata_v2
    E-Business Suite 11i, 12.0, and 12.1 are certified with Database 12.1.0.1.
E-Business Suite 12.2 will be certified with Database 12.1.0.1 soon.

  • Need migration and upgrade info.

    Hi
    I'm currently running CF 4.5 on a NT4.0 box. I need to
migrate to a box running Windows 2003 Server. Can anybody help
    answer the following questions?
1- Does CF4.5 support Windows 2003? If not, what is the
lowest version of CF that supports 2003 and is still being support
    by Adobe?
2- Does Adobe support cold fusion Upgrades or Migrations to
    2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ColdFusion 4.5 is not supported by Adobe at all. It has never
been tested with Windows 2003 as far as I know, so it might or
might not work properly in that environment. The lowest supported
version of ColdFusion that has been tested on Windows 2003 is
    ColdFusion MX 6.

cannot pass this step as it complains it is not a report server, please see error below:

    Thanks,
    Albert

    Hi
As Alberto’s post, it's not supported to run a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) database on SQL Server 2012 in Server 2008 R2. Since your application requires SQL Server 2012 Express as a minimum, you can try the following method:
    1. WSUS in Server 2012 supports SQL Server 2012, if you want to upgrade WSUS database supports SQL Server 2012, you need to upgrade WSUS 3.0 SP1, operation system and so on. For more information, you can post the question about WSUS in the
Windows Server forums. It is appropriate and more experts will assist you. In addition, upgrade SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2012, as Shanky’s post, you need to make sure that your SQL Server 2005 has been applied Service Pack 4.
    2. However, if you don’t want to upgrade WSUS database from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2012, I recommend you to install a new instance of SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2008 R2.
In addition, before installing SQL Server 2012 or upgrading to SQL Server 2012, your system should meets the following prerequisites:
      • The Windows Installer service must be running.
      • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 4.0 are required.
      • Windows PowerShell 2.0 or later is required if you're upgrading the database engine.
For more information about the prerequisites for installing SQL Server 2012, please review the following link:
Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2012:

  • BE6K migration and upgrade at the same time

let's say a customer has 300 users on Unity 5 and CUCM 7 without UCSS. I want to get them to 300 CUWL STD in CUCM 10. I know I can order BE6K without upgrade without UCSS (BE6K-ENH-UPG + BE6K-VM-UPG), but that only gets me to ENH + CUC licensing. I know I also can use feature migration for UCL ENH+apps to CUWL STD with BE6K-UWL-CMAPPS2BE for the same 300 users. I can't order upgrade and migration together, so I'd need to order them under two separate R-CBE6K-K9. The problem is that both will require ESW+UCSS, but I only need one set of ESW+UCSS. What would you recommend I do in this situation?

A device can be connected to only one network at a time.
I will tell you what works for me.
Connect your TC to your modem. All you need to do is set up a dedicated n network on 5ghz freq (i used wpa2 wireless security) with with your TC and use that with all of your other n capable stuff like ATV, macbook air etc. Then connect your old AEBS using an ethernet cable to the ethernet AEBS connection to the TC ethernet. Then using Airport Utility find your AEBS, and set up a b/g network 2.4ghz freq (i used wep 128bit). While setting up the AEBS, click on the internet tab on the top and then go the bottom, where you will see connection sharing and select off (bridge mode). This will allow your AEBS to use the TC as a bridge to your cable modem. Now you have two wireless networks using one modem using essentially 2 base stations, TC and AEBS. My old AXs, old b/g imacs and iphone join the b/g network, and I can stream music from my n capable computer and old b/g imacs to my ATV and AX hooked to different stereos around my home. And log in to different music libraries and control the music from my iphone. My computer are all networked wirelessly. The higher encryption you use on the b/g network the slower it will be. Do not combine b/g/n network as it will be slow, and more so using any wireless security. Keep in mind you can also use an old AX instead of and old AEBS for the b/g network as well in bridge mode. Give different names for each network. Any neighbor on the same frequency using the same channel will interfere and slow your network done. There are cool widgets you can download that tell you what channels your neighbors are using and can select a different channel from them. It's complicated and takes patience, good luck.

  • Migrating and upgrading Essbase-problems with modifying nightly batch scripts

We are upgrading and migrating Essbase from 6.2 Unix to 7.0.1 Windows. We are in the process of modifying the nightly batch scripts that take SAP data and upload into Essbase. Thusfar the dimension build is working, but the dataload has not. Has anyone else done a similar migration/upgrade?ThanksBonnie Bedzin408 737 5613

Report script is a text file there is nothing to create a problem.
You can migrate using file system copy or migration wizard.
If you want you can craete a report script in the target server by copying the content from the source.
