Zen V Plus stuck in microphone/recording mode HE

HiMy brand new Zen V Plus is stuck in microphone/recording mode. I've tried holding the back button (which is what you're stupposed to do for more options) but then it just starts recording. AFter I end the recording, I'm back in microphone mode again and can't get out. I've already tried turning on/off and resetting - nothing hel
ps.
Please help if you can!ThanksDucky

I'm also having this problem and would have tremendous appreciation for anyone who could offer a solution. My Zen V Plus worked well for about three months before this problem arose, and I really enjoyed having it, so it's very dissapointing to me that it's not working anymore.
The behavior: as soon as the player is turned on, it goes into locked mode, regardless of the position of the lock toggle switch. If I toggle the lock switch, it either wakes up and then immediately goes back into locked mode or simply doesn't respond. If I'm lucky, I can get it to actually unlock by toggling the switch many times in a row, but then it will return to locked mode after a few seconds.
A few more details: I have tried doing a hard reset. I am not having any trouble syncing the player to my computer. Also, this problem creeped up slowly: it started just happening once in a while, but now it happens every time I use the player.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

  • Zen V Plus stuck in locked m

My Zen V Plus is stuck in locked mode. I can't shut it down normally, but I can restart it using the usual button. Once I get to the screen that displays the last song I was listening to, it shows the locked symbol and won't let me do anything else.
I've tried upgrading the firmware, using the recovery tool that creative zen has provided. Nothing changed. I've tried to restart it in recovery mode, but it won't go into it--just returns to the same screen with the lock showing. I don't even mind wiping the whole thing out since I have the firmware I could download. But nothing will budge it out of the locked mode.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Zen Nano Plus stuck at USB 1.0 sp

I've had my zen nano plus for sometime now and I just recently got a new PC with USB 2.0. The thing is that whenever I plug in the player into any of the USB ports, I keep getting the message "This device can work faster...". At first I only thought that maybe it was the motherboard or drivers. But when I plugged in my friends' MUVO 2.0, it didn't get that message. It worked at 2.0 speed. Also, whenever I plug the player in the PC in the office I get 2.0 speed. I've tried everything and I'm still stuck with .0 speed at home. Anyone else have this problem?

If you do a search of the web you'll find lots of reports of problems with the SIS 700 chipset. It shows up on Device Manager as an Open Host Controller and so is only USB.. There are solutions out there but you'll have to look on the web for them. They've been talked about in here before so search the forum for SIS 700 and you should get some of the posts - look for one by myself as I remember posting a link to a useful website for this problem before.
Lower down is a single Enhanced Host Controller entry - you need to connect your player so that it shows up under that entry. I bet your friend's player shows up there when connected.

  • ZEN NANO PLUS MICROPHONE FUNCT

HELLO, I'M SEARCHING SOMEONE WHO CAN EXPLAIN ME HOW DOES IT WORK THE MICROPHONE OF THE ZEN NANO PLUS TO MAKE EXTERNAL RECORDING.AT THE BEGINNING WHEN I BOUGHT THE MP3 PLAYER IT WORKED VERY WELL, LATER THE RECORDING WORKS BUT AT THE END THE DISPLAY SHOWS A WAV FILE.WHEN YOU PRESS IN THE DISPLAY THE KEY OF THE RECORDED FILES APPEARS "NO REGISTRATION".WHY SO, WHEN THE RECORD WORKED?THE SAME FILE CREATED IN THE MP3 CAN BE READ IN THE PC WHEN THIS IS CONNECTED TO THE PC. THIS IS VERY STRANGE. IN SHORT,THE PIECE RECORDED CANNOT BE LISTENED INTO THE MP3 PLAYER.iS THERE SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP ME?(THE INSTRUCTION OF THE PRODUCT DOESN'T DISCUSS AT ALL ABOUT THESE TECHNICAL THINGS)THANK YOU.

Are you going to the option of the player called "Recordings" to listen to the recorded file, or are you trying to access them from the "music" menu?
With my older V200, (not the same, but pretty close) I had to go to the "recordings" menu to listen to any microphone or FM recording... My zen Neeon is also the same...
(About the Wav thing, I think that all the older players that could record did so In wav. format... Although a lot of the newer players allow you to change that now...

  • Zen Nano Plus: Line in recording from micropho

I've got a Creative Zen Nano Plus and was very happy about its ability to encode MP3s from the line in jack.
Since the integrated microphone is not very good for recording (especially loud music) I tried to connect a microphone to the line in jack. Unfortunately I had to recognise that it doesn't record anything no matter if "Sync Track" is on or off.
I'd be glad if someone can tell me what exactly the problem is. Do I need some kind of special microphone (I read somewhere that it has to be "pre-amped", whatever that may mean) or is the line in jack designed for just recording from devices like a CD player? Help is very much appreciated. :-)

    Big bump.
I did some research quite a while ago and thought that I should report the results for people also having that problem.
A line-in jack is not a microphone-in jack. The difference between them is that the former is not supplied with electricity, so it can't power simple external microphones on its own. Thus, a real microphone-in jack is needed, though none of the Creative products has one included. You will still need a pre-amped microphone to get recordings with proper volume, though. A good and cheap solution is the Archos Stereo Microphone that comes with a preamplifier including volume adjust (http://www.archos.com -> Accessories -> Audio accessories).
Microphone-in jacks can be found for example in the iri'ver iFP-7** and iFP-8** series. Since this players are discontinued and newer models don't have these jacks, it's kind of hard to still use that feature.

  • Creative Zen V Plus Line In Record

    Hi all
I am looking at getting a number of these for my workplace to use primarily as a line in/external mic recording device.
We have trialled a number of HD based recorders in the past; iRi'ver, Cowon but we have found the line in recording standard to be poor.
I was wondering if anyone has one of these and could tell me what the recording standards are like, especially regarding the volume levels of the line in recording?
The iRi'ver and Cowons both have line in recording but the volume level is so low it is pretty useless.
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

I use my Zen Nano Plus primarily for line in recording directly from sound systems. Line-in recordings are saved as MP3s and you can pick the encoding bitrate, either 96, 28 or 60. The recordings with the built-in microphone are saved as WAV files. I've found that for line-in recordings it's best to put in some headphones and check that the recording level (via volume control) is satisfactory. I've never used any other line-in recorders so I can't provide any comparison. Anyway, I typically use the free version of Wavepad to do an auto gain adjustment on the recordings. Hope I was of some help to you!

  • IPhone 6 Plus Stuck in Portrait Mode Only

Today, my iPhone 6 Plus stopped switching to landscape mode and only works in portrait.  The glitch is even there when watching a video in, say, the CNN or IGN Apps.
I know the iPad has a switch to lock the screen rotation, but didn't think the phone had this?
Has anyone else had trouble with their new phone being stuck in portrait?

For me, it was as simple as that lock button, which I'd not noticed before, but yes, a hard restart usually fixes most issues.  I did a restart first, so it spooked me when even that didn't work; which is why I posted.
I've also downloaded 8.2 and feel that it has fixed a few bugs I'd noticed.  love the phone too.  My case finally came, it's the Griffin Reveal; picked it up from that big online retailer.
The Plus has had some tough press for some reason, but I love it!

  • Creative Zen Vision 30Gb Stuck in Recovery Mode, Freezes when trying to deal with Firmware

My Zen Vision is stuck in Recovery Mode. The PC recognizes it but it comes up as 50mb Storage Media. When you touch Reload Firmware or Format All, it freezes and you have to pull the battery out to shut it off. I don't know what to do. Charges fine, never said anything about HARDWARE issues, just can't get it to not freeze when trying to load firmware back onto it.

I did the same thing, my unit was working perfectly.
I just read that these players have a laptop 2.5 hard dri've installed in the unit. If this is true, the next chance I get, I will take my unit apart (40 gig nomad zen xtra) and see if I can reinstall the firmware directly. It's probably what they do at the repair sho

  • 1GB Zen Nano Plus player stuck in Radio mo

I have a GB Zen Nano Plus player. I use it every day, have since I got it 2 yrs ago. It has the radio feature. I switched it to radio the other morning and now it won't switch back to my mp3 music. When I push in the scroller to go to the menu, it takes me to the Radio menu and locks up. Won't scroll up, won't scroll down, can't up or down the volume, can't even turn it off... I have to remove the battery for it to quit. I have no clue what's going on. I connected it to my computer and formatted it....didn't help. Went here online and got the firmware update drivers....didn't help. I can still load music onto and play it while it's hooked to my desktop, but I can't use it any other way than radio when I'm using it solo. Any ideas?

Make sure to reflash the firmware in recovery mode (see instructions on Creative's support website), and also let the updater format the data area. If that doesn't work it's probably a hardware failure, I'm afraid...

  • Zen V plus line in recording with 10 minute tra

I just purchased a zen v plus specifically for recording certain programs using the line in recorder. The programs are generally /2 to 3 hours long. The problem I have is that the line in recorder breaks up the recording into 0 minute tracks. Is there a way to program or adjust the setting,so that it's not broken up into tracks?
    Thanks

When you record a track, the recorded track is automatically named LINE followed by the date and time of the recording ( LINE YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS ). For example, if you recorded a track on March 5, 2004 at 2:57 pm, the track is named >LINE 2004-03-5 4:57:00 . You can just extract the recorded track from the player and rename it when you have it connected to your computer.

  • ZEN V Plus: Record in-line with poor quali

Am I alone with my problem? In my experience there is a poor quality using the in-line opportunity for recording. My issue is recording with mic and preamp. My old mp3-player had this function and worked without any unwanted noise. The ZEN V plus adds a scratch noise. Is there a way to avoid it's Thanks

  • Zen V Plus Line-In Record

I'm recording various shows on TV and Satellite radio by line-in audio recording. Can anyone tell me if the V Plus can charge and record line-in at the same time? If not, how long can it line-in record before the player shuts down? I have the Nano Plus and it's just too much of a drain with the AAA battery -- only recording about /2 hours before it shuts itself off.

it does not charge and record at the same time..
im not sure about the in-line recording battery life though..

  • Zen V Plus, Pointless reset butt

So I'm sitting here with my Zen V Plus that has a broken back button. Now I'm fine with the broken back button, I have all my music on one playlist anyway. But here I am and my record button was accidently pushed, and without my back button i cant leave this screen. So as I scramble to find a way to leave this screen i see this very very small hole and the word "reset" under the hole. After finding the right size needle (most were too big, yea its that small) i push the little button; and can you guess what happens? The player shuts off, so i turn it on to find the same recording screen. Now I can't seem to contemplate a reason to make this button if all it does it do the job of the much much larger button right above it. I was under the impression that the button would RESET my V plus and bring me to main menu. Can anyone tell me if there are any ways to actually reset my player.

The reason for the reset button is to reset a frozen/locked up .mp3 player.
If for some reason your .mp3 player locks up [like computers used to do all the time in the Windows 95 days], the reset 'reboots' your .mp3 player.
On a badly locked up .mp3 player, the On/Off switch won't respond and reset is the only way to get things going again.
I don't have a Zen V Plus, but usually there is a method of getting into Recovery/Rescue Mode.
Follow the steps and run a Disk Cleanup and Reboot when it's finished.
Only Format or Reload Firmware as last resorts, as they are fairly drastic steps.
Disk Cleanup scans your disk and attempts to repair corrupt files. It also resets your .mp3 player to the defaults, so that may get you out of the Recording menu that you're stuck on.

  • Zen V Plus firmware wishl

I could not find a wishlist for the Zen V / V Plus, so here it is.
Plain and simple just like the other player wishlists. No questions and no discussions. Just topics with firmware improvements for Zen V / V Plus. Hopefully, the Creative developers will see this.
The Zen V Plus is a great multi-function DAP, almost perfect for its niche. It only needs a few improvements.
A list in order of importance to me (most important first):
) Improve the current bookmarking mechanism by saving the current playlist along with the current audio track position. Currently, if you are listening to track number 0 out of 20 tracks for an audiobook and save it to a bookmark, restoring that bookmark will restore only the one saved track to the current playlist. You have to manually add back the other tracks to the current playlist.
    2) When powering-off on a paused audio track, the Zen should power-on paused to the same position in the audio track. Currently, the Zen V powers-on paused to the beginning of the same audio track. I listen to a lot of audio books and track position is important in a power-on resume.
2a) Option to treat an album as continuous audio content so that a rewind started in track 6 will back into track 5 continuously (in other words from the beginning of track 6 to the end of track 5 and so on). This is very important for listening to audio books.
    3) Add FM tuner radio recording.
    4) When scrolling a long list of songs, the scrolling should accelerate.
    5) The lower end of the volume scale in terms of loudness should be quieter. I listen with high sensitivity IEMs at night and level one is too loud.
    6) Audible.com tracks should be in their own album named Audible. Right now they fill up the Album selection list. I have about 40 Audible.com tracks on my Zen V Plus and about 20 music albums. The Audible.com tracks clutter up the album list.
    7) When configuring the menu, unchecked top level items should move into the EXTRAS menu. In other words, unchecking PHOTO would move it into EXTRAS.
    8) Option to backup all Zen V settings and radio presets to the PC.
    9) Allow charging of the Zen V from an ordinary (not Win XP) USB port or from an ordinary USB charger.
    0) Add a sensitivity (low and high) option and/or an AGC (auto gain control) option to voice recording for close and distant recording.
) An option to select all tracks EXCEPT speech tracks like Audible.com tracks, podcasts, and audiobook tracks, so that Shuffle mode will play only music. This might be done by having a setting for genre exclusions (speech, audiobook, podcast, and so on)
    2) A fade in/fade out option.
    3) A configurable HOLD option (lock all, not volume, not play/pause, not both).
    4) Scheduled FM recording.
It would be nice if the Zen V Plus could play compressed video, but I presume that with a small battery and low power processor, this is not possible.Message Edited by IpaqMan on 2-05-200609:2 AM

Glad this form is here. I was considering buying a Zen V Plus. I currently use a zen nano plus to listen mostly to audible books. My complaints:. Can't lock it so that if it's sitting in a purse it sometimes accidently turns on and then keeps going until it sues up the battery2. You have to scroll through everything on the zen nano plus in order to get to the book you want to listen to.I thought I would change to the Zen V Plus but am very concerned that you can't rewind within a track. Iuse that a lot and don't want to only be able to go back or forward to a a chapter or track. I tried using a Sandisk Sansa?c40 which had this characteristic and it drove me crazy and I went back to my Zen Nano.
I 'd like a player that has a menu so that you can choose the book or music you want to go to from a menue - withhout scrolling , but that allows you to rewind\fastforward inside the book by the second. ANy ideas? Thanks?Message Edited by lisamp3 on 05-0-20072:26 PM

  • Zen V Plus 2gb - Space prob

    Hello guys,
Saturday I bought a Zen V Plus 2gb and I installed the software, loaded my Zen and tried to fill it with music.
But suddenly (by about 800mb ~ 80 songs) my Zen froze. I used the reset button and tried to fill it again. My 80 songs were still on it. But my computer didn't recognized it anymore. So I formated my Zen and I upgraded it with new firmware.
Then I filled it again - and it froze again at 800mb and my pc couldn't recognize it anymore, too.
I don't think that it is normal. What can I do? My Zen got 2gb free space but I only can use about 2/5 of it because it freezes. There is no notification like "The disc space is full", it just freezes and I have to format my Zen to use it again.
Without formating I can't fill it with my pc or with the pc of my father. So it can't be a problem of a computer. Even the record function doesn't work. Is my Zen damaged, or is it normal that I can use only 800mb of my 2gb Zen?!
I hope that someone could help me and I excuse me for my bad English :-)
    Bye,
    Lumpi

The st?8GB Zen V Plus I?bought also had this same problem. It would allow me to add?only about 7GB of music before it would freeze and even cleaning up the links from the recovery mode menu would cause a freeze. I called Creative and told them I had read that someone else in this message board?wrote about?the same problem - a "faulty" flash dri've. Creative said they hadn't heard about it and recommended that I return it to where I bought it from and simply replace it. That's what I did and my 2nd 8GB V Plus has been working great.
