0 Channels foun in RWB

Hi,
After configuring all the staffs in XI, while trying to check the connectivity in RWB in XI (RunTime Workbench), I have found that it is not able to find any channels. It's saying "0 Channels Found".
I checked all the parameters also, they are correct. Moreover if all the parameters are not correct then I think the exception it should throw in RWB, isn't that?
Could anyone please help me actually where may be the problem be and what steps I need to follow to resolve this.
Thanks
Soumya

Hi Soumya,
Auto Cache refresh is not working.. seems like in your case..
So what you can do is select the row and click on refresh button.. i dont remember the exact ..but something like that..
or you can manually refresh the cache using the following link..
http://servername:j2eeport/CPACache/refresh?mode=full.
You need to use PIDIRUSER to refresh cache or any other user with similar authorization.
Ask your basis team to figure out why auto cache refresh is not working.
One thing i would suggest you is to check in XI server .. SM59 if INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI destination is working.

Sumit

• How to set the specified communication channel invisible in RWB?

Hi,gurus:
We have many communication channels in our XI server.
You know that we can filter the communication channel in communicaiton channel monitoring.
Are there other methods to set the specified communication channel invisible in RWB without using filter or deleting the communication channel?
Thanks in advance.

Hey,
>Are there other methods to set the specified communication channel invisible in RWB without using filter
NO - To my Knowledge,
In RWB - you can stop/inactive the Adapter

Hi,
To control communication channels externally, you use an HTTP GET or POST request to the following URL:
http(s)://host:port/AdapterFramework/ChannelAdminServlet?party=party&service=service&channel=channel&action=action
See this wiki,
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/ExternallyControllingtheCommunicationChannel
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/45/0c86aab4d14dece10000000a11466f/content.htm
You can easily control comm channel through external control.
Please refer the HELP.SAP material on this.
In RWB you need to enable external control on communication channel.

• System Error in Comm channel monitoring of RWB

Dear all,
I have a Proxy to webservice scenario (HCM-PI-SuccessFactors). At receiver side i am using SOAP AXIS adapter. In RWB, the status of the channel is green and running. But when i ping the channel, it shows System Error.
I have made changes in respective communication channels, activated and cleared the cache. Still same error.
Later taken complete restart of system. Still same error.
How to overcome this ?
Note : 1) End to end scenario is working fine
2) Among the three trusted certificates installed, status of one certificate is showing warning (status: which will expire on may 5).

• Channels not monitorable in the Communication Channel Monitor / RWB

Hi,
Back on XI after a long break… ☺
I am facing an issue with our in-house JCA adapter used in XI scenarios. When trying to monitor the channels using our adapter from the Communication Channel Monitor in RWB, I have the following:
Status: NA
Short Log: No adapter registered for this channel
The adapter is deployed and the integration scenarios using it work perfectly:
- sda package deployed through the SDM
- the metadata defined in the Design
- a valid and working configuration involving the scenario is defined
The messages are going through and are monitorable in both SXMB_MONI and RWB...
All other channels using system adapters (File, RFC, SOAP…) do display a status (as a color icon) and a Short Log… and they can be administered (start/stop) using the enabled buttons when selected…
From the Adapter Monitor page, our adapter has a green status, and all the channels configured to use it display the status, Name and Text information...
I have no idea what could be the issue… should the adapter implement a special interface to be monitored from the RWB, is it a configuration issue, permissions issue???
I saw 2 posts with this error message but they did not help me to figure out where the issue is …
Thanks for your help,
Adalbert

Hi Gouri,
Thanks for your response, I will try would suggestion for testing... but
I am wondering why the namespace has to be http://sap.com/xi/XI/sample ???
It sounds weird that this namespace has to be fixed... as the purpose of a namespace is to create a isolation/container for names... so it needs to be customizable...
I did not see anything in the Adapter Development guides related to this kind of constraints...
Thanks,
Adalbert

• Comm channel not available in RWB comm channel monitoring

Hi All,
I've gone through this(Comm channel missing in comm channel monitoring) unanwered forum. I've facing the same issue.
In my ID, I created XI receiver adapter comm. channel. And data is flowing successfully to the receiver side through this Comm. channel
I'm aware that XI adapter in ID is used to send data via Proxy.
But why i'm not see that in the Comm. channel monitoring in RWB. If anyone has documentation please let me know.
Thanks.

Hi ,
The XI adapter resides in Integration engine thus you cannot see it in RWB. RWB shows comm channels which are in adapter engine. The simple proof is that you cannot enhance this adapter with your own modules on the Module tab page in the module processor. Here is the link to documentation

• FCC Error in RWB

Hi All,
My scenario is Idoc to File scenario in which i am using FCC at the target end,
My data type structure was

1
5 Fields
Level -
2
5 Fields
Level -
3
5 Fields
and my FCC parameters was ..
Level1.fieldFixedLengths --- 0,0, (As i dont want all these fields i marked as 0,0,....)
Level1.fixedLengthTooShortHandling -- Cut
Level1.endSeparator -- 'nl'

Level3.fixedLengthTooShortHandling -- Cut
Level3.endSeparator -- 'nl'
but, unable to find where actaully the error is..
This is the folllowing error which i am getting in Receiver comm channel monitoring in RWB.. I think the error is with FCC
Message processing failed. Hi..
RootNode ..is it the name of your Message type?
Yes Root Node is my message Type
Also are Level1,Level2,Level1 on same level?
Yes all the levels are in same level ..
If i need to suppress any one level at the output end how can i suppress it..
If i alter the Data type structure i can do it but the values which is populated at that level will be used by the other levels
Eg: i want to suppress level 1 but some functionality of that level will be used by the other 2 levels. so in the structure it is essential but at the target end i need to suppress those values..
can i suppress it using any other fixedlength funcitonality

• Sync/Async - JMS receiver comm. channel not processing

I have a Sync/Async scenario (without bpm) in PI 7.11:
RFC -> PI -> JMS
whereby the JMS receiver comm. channel does not fully process the message.
More specifically, the RFC sender comm. channel gets a message in and passes the message to the JMS channel, but that JMS channel within the RWB comm. channel log only shows the entry:
- Message processing started
The odd twist to this is that when we bring the PI server down, then back up again, (or wait a period of time, still trying to determine this period) the FIRST message attempt does successfully get processed, i.e. the first message on that JMS receiver comm. channel RWB log shows as:
- Channel successfully processed the message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
- Stored the correlation ID 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2 of the request JMS message: ID:c3e2d840d4d8d4f24040404040404040c754dc12d8b54ec6 correponding to the XI message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
- Message processing started
(but then because of an issue on the target system, no response comes back, so then we'll additionally get the log entry:
- Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: no message received
Any suggestions appreciated on what I can check here to try and figure this out. Possibly because the first message eventually errors out, it is stopping the other subsequent msgs from getting processed...
When I check the audit logs of a 'success' msg vs. a not-successful msg, the success msg has an entry (and subsequent entries) of:
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: successfully transformed

wheras the non-success msg shows only:
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: successfully transformed
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: entering RequestOnewayBean
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: forwarding the request message
14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: leaving RequestOnewayBean
So, we can see that the message is not "forwarded to the JMS provider..." in the non-success case.
And also the sxi_monitor shows these messages with a status of "Log version".
Keith

Hi Siddhesh - yes that was a while back and am trying to remember the resolution. I have implemented sync/async bridges (as well as async/sync bridges) successfully, so I don't mind checking your settings, particularly I am interested in the settings within the Module tab of the JMS receiver. I can then compare to mine if you'd like. Also if you can let me know what underlying queuing system in that target system (e.g. MQSeries?) that would be great.

• Page cannot be displayed error in Communication channel monitoring

Hi,
when i am trying to click on Communication channel monitoring from RWB it shows me the error " Page cannot be displayed".
I am testing this for the for the first time in QA environment.
But in development , CC monitoring works fine in the same Laptop.
I have checked the hosts file and it has the IP address and system name present in it.
i have checked in my collegues laptop and it opens there, but it doesn't open in my laptop.
we are using PI 7.0, windows XP and IE 7.0.
Could anyone help to solve this problem?
Thanks
JJ

I am able to open the communciation channel if i am using the path http://<full qualified host>:<http port>/mdt/channelmonitorservlet
This means that there is a problem in the host file....the changes are not getting reflected.....did you log-ff and then again login?
instead of the FQDN you can also open the page using the IP address of the server.
I am really sorry I am unable to give you points, since the Star icon is not displaying in the browser to award points
This may be because you did not mark the thread as a question

Thanks,
Ambili
