014.002 on N8

Hi,
I have N8 with version 013.016.
I know there is a newer one called 014.002, but Ovi Suite says there is no update available so I can't update.
Can I get and install 014.002 in other way?

Firmware updates are released in phases for the various product codes. Have a look at the thread below for more information.

Software updates are phased in due to large numbers of regional, national and operator variants, it is not the case that any individual country is left behind.
Generic devices for each region are always first, followed by their equivelants for individual countries which may have differences specific to the local market. Network variant models may be awaiting the approval of the networks concerned before Nokia can release them.

Can't update my C6-01 from 014.002 to newer versio...

hi. I got a problem with the updating on my C6-01. Product code:059C3P9. When i try to update, it says that there is no new versions. And I have only v.014.002. How I can solve this? Please help me.

Is this product code from UK , Canada, USA or Australia? If yes- then the Anna update is not yet available for these countries.

N8 wont pick up the new software (014.002) update.

Hi I am trying to update my Nokia N8 from the software 011.012 to 014.002. I have tried on my PC with the ovi & PC suite and the nokia software updater. Nothing seems to be picking the latest software up. Any help or thoughts on how to fix this would be fantastic.

yea the phone isnt locked to the sim card in it its who you purchased the phone from. i was gonna say its the silver. because i have the black and its a difrent code and telstra only offered the silver and black wasnt happy i wanted the orange or green. the reason it may always be dead is a fauly battery if its under warenty get them to replace it.. or your constantly online, or you could have manny operating applications in the background.
but im asuming you use it for emails try making the sync over a longer period. not everytime you get the email. otherwise its constantly searching and thats whats using the power.. my other option is find a power monitering app and see where all the power is being used.

(im sad to say they skiped pr 1.1 and 1.2 for anna.. but dont worry they are a part of the anna update.)

N8 update to PR1.2 014.002 22/3/2011

Anyone received this and worked out out what issues it's meant to resolve. I received the update 9 hrs ago and my n8 has locked up 3 times since. Tried restarting again but still freezing. Might have to hard reset (again)

PR 1.2 is still not available worldwide. Even here in the Philippines it's not or mostly say they don't have it.
My N8 has PR 1.2 (014.002) sim free-Singapore code 0599243-Sent to me by Nokia Philippines.
My friend has an N8-lock to SMART Communications Network. But still stuck with PR 1.0-and no update yet.
I read some your posts guys--TV out working fine for me. OVI store-updated-(even if I do a hard reset delete/restore. After that, if you launch OVI Store-the browser will open and will prompt you download or update it. I signed in successfully.
About freezing, yes a little bit, lag sometimes, I installed a lot of apps, loaded a bunch of stuff to the mass memory-it'll take someyimes to respond-maybe that's one of the reasons why it's acting like that..
OVI maps working fine, prior to delete and restore- I did install OVI maps from BetaLAbs, but I didn't like it, so I decide not to now. was able to sign in as well.

It help me a lot when Nokia London sent me a 14 day trial of Nokia N8, cause I notice that the version of my OVI Store and Social is different from my friends'. It helped me a lot to update the apps before returning the device to them.
But after getting a Nokia N8 (Nokia/Womworld london hidden N8-bindary code competition) , I've known what to do if I encounter a problem with the device.

.022.014 Anna download - nokia ovi suite device di...

During update search on my N8, software found is 014.002. Half way during installation of .022.014, the Nokia ovi suite gets disconnected from my N8. The message on screen is Device Recovery - Nokia las lost its connection with your device. Then suggests following steps: 1. Remove battery, charger, USB cable, from your device. 2. Reinstall the USB cable, then battery, & finally the charger. 3. Press device power button for 1sec. 4. Click retry to continue. I have tried everything but no success. I also have Nokia bubbles installed on my Nokia 8.

I just tried Nokia Ovi Suite again to copy the full error report that it sends to Microsoft.... lo and behold it started to work again?????

Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize with Nokia PC Suite.
Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

C7 can't update to Anna from PR1.2 (v014.002)

I'm having a problem with trying to install Anna on C7 bought direct from Nokia Direct (which no longer exist) in UK.
I managed to update the firmware to PR 1.2 (version 014.002) a while back. The details are below:

But when I run the Software Updater, the phone says No Updates Available.
I also connected the phone to my laptop and ran Nokia Suite (v3.2.100) and it also said "Your device is up to date. It has the software version 014.002 installed."
How can that be correctt?
My wife's C7 (bought through Vodafone) had no problem with updating to Anna.
What's the problem? Why couldn't my C7 be updated to Anna, and why does the phone and Nokia Suite software updaters said the phone has the latest software?
I'm in the UK and both the phones were bought in the UK and one managed to update to Anna but the other couldn't. Can anyone help?

Thanks for looking up on the Nokia server for my product code.
It surprises me that Nokia, to this day, continues to mess things up with even the simplest things like trying to update the phone software. It doesn't need to be this complicated, surely.
The other C7, which managed to update to Anna (v022.014) has product code of 059D0V6. How come this handset works and the other doesn't?
What do these product codes refer to? Are they for different markets? This phone that I'm having problem with (the one with product code 059D495) was bought from Nokia Direct (which no longer exist as a service). So, that's even more puzzling.

hello im trying to update my nokia n8 phone software it wont let me update it via the the phone it keeps telling me i need to update it via the pc so i downloaded the nokia ovisuite on my pc that im currently running on windows7 and it wont let me update it im currently on version (014.002) and theres an update i found in the sw update app in my applications folder on my phone for version (022.014) it says underneath the update name witch is N8-00 device software (use your pc to update) so i went to www.nokia.com/softwareupdate selected what modle my phone is downloaded the ovisuite and tried to update my phone it gets to (checking device support software is up to date) then come up with something went wrong restart you ovisyite and try again if the problem preseeds to happen then uninstall nokia ovisuite and download the latest version witch i did and still it gets to ( checking device support software is upto date) and come up again something went wrong i dunno what to do i would be very grateful if you can help me thanks

Not able to share location on facebook thorough my Nokia C7. Though im connected all the time on phone through widgets. I have 3 G connection.rest of the stuff works absolutely fine however whenever i try to share the location through ovi maps it givens me error" temporary network problem try again later". I ve checked the connection they all are fine and are set to automatic login too. please suggest

I have got the same issue. I've tried it from several places: at home (over wireless), outside over 3G, at work over Wireless. Always the same error message.
I have got the message for all the social networks. With the fourquare app it worked one time but afterwards the application and phone crashed.
Software 014.002 is installed as firmware on my C7.
I would like to see this issue solved.

E7 Mail app slow to open mails with attachments

Hi,
I have a brand new E7 configured with my corporate Exchange 2003 server account and my private gmail. E7 runs the most current SW P1.1 014.002.263.03.
Mail/calendar/contacts sync works but opening a received mail with any attachment listed (even how tiny, like 1kb jpeg) on the mail application takes ages. If I click on a message on the mail list it can take upto 30 seconds before the screen shows the message. During the time the phone freezes, even the hardware buttons are not responding. The symptom is the same on Exchange and Gmail accounts. Messages not having any attachments open in about 4 secs. I have tried to delete the accounts etc. but no joy.
The mails are received as push, I have tried also scheduled receiving, offline mode etc. but the speed is the same. Is anyone else seeing this and is there anything to be done? The speed of the mail application is so poor that it prevents me to use the E7 as the business phone.

Mine tends to open attachments fairly quickly, but it is dependent on signal strength, and obviously much faster on wifi than on edge!

N8 map problem PLEASE HELP!!!

i don't know why my device and ovi suite are giving me this issue. i did a delete data and restore after having issues with bubbles and sleeping screen, when they were in beta form. also something else was causing the phone to run slowly, i don't know what it was. after the delete and restorel, i re-installed the firmware 014.002. now everytime i plug in my mobile to my computer and i try to re-install the maps i get a message saying that i need to update my old maps. the thing is, i don't have any maps on the phone. i'm using Maps version 3.06 if that helps. i even tried delete data and restore, and re-installing the firmware again to see if that would help, but no success.
please somebody help me. i sold my GPS unit and was using the N8 as a replacement. it was doing an awesome job up until now. also i tried contacting nokia about the problem and their tech support seems to have reading problems and they keep telling me to do the steps i already did....

Whilst I would only ever advocate a "three key reset" upon S^3 device as a last resort due to erasure of data upon Mass memory amongst other issues, there is obviously something corrupted upon your device perhaps due to UDP = User Data Preservation feature which has not been cleared by your attempts so far.
It maybe that re-installation of complete software at a Nokia Care Point may be required to resolve this issue, which would also restore regional mapping included upon E:\ Mass memory.

E7 thinks it has Anna but doesn't

Okay, so long story short, my original E7 died and was replaced by insurance. I restored most of my phone content to replacement E7 from a backup. Original phone had Anna. Now the new phone shows it applied the anna updates but didn't. What can I do?

Now when I check for software updates, it shows in my update history that I've applied Anna on the 31st of Oct. But I didn't--that's the day I applied it to my original E7, from which I restored a backup to the new one. This phone will not update and says I'm all up-to-date.

Nokia c-7 secondary camera issue

my nokia c 7-00 is about a month old, my secondary camera is not working, whenever i try to switch it on it says "unexpected error occured. restart phone." even after restarting the phone several times problem didnt got fixed. i also restored factory setting but still the error persists. i am unable to make video calls. kindly sugest a solution. (my phone details: PR1.2 software version 014.002)

Nokia n8 firmware update

I have used Nokia Software updater with GPRS/ EDGE Connection, and it showed me the update. I'm from India.
My current release after the update is PR1.2. Software Version is 014.002.C03.01. Type is RM 596.

Voip in Nokia C7 00

Did Nokia C7-00 support outgoing internet calls?

I’ve just bought C7, but I think it’s the same matter of N8. and I have tried to use Voip with Skype, Fring, Mobilevoip.
All these 3 applications crash down when trying to make calls. Wifi network is correctly configured.
Skype logs in correctly, you can chat and send sms, but not make a phone or Skype call. Latest version was released last december.
Fring logs in correctly, you can chat but not make Fring calls. I have configured the Sip client but nothing to, finally crashes the same. I have recently updated Fring with latest version.
MobileVoip is a specific program for sip calls (eg voipstunt, smsdiscount, justvoip, smartvoip, voipalot, etc). The service is provided from Betamax. It is very simple and smart, there is no need of any configuration, only username and password are needed. It cannot log in, the phone freezes for about one minute, then application crashes.
I have read something about the problem on various forums, and as I can understand voip calls cannot be actually performed on Symbian ^3. I have installed a firmware update after purchase (from 012.004 to 014.002). So all is updated.
All such 3 applications run perfectly on Symbian 5th, I had a 5800XM before, and all is still all ok.
I have not understood if this is a Nokia Symbian ^3 problem, so we have to wait an update patch from Nokia, or if it is a problem concerning each voip application (Skype, Fring, etc.) so we have to wait updates from them.
Can anyone explain me more about this please?
To tell the truth if I knew this problem I would have not bought C7, or at least I would have waited to purchase. Sometimes I travel abroad and these voip services are very useful on Wifi. I have to bring my old 5800 if want to make voip calls, and left my new C7 in a drawer awaiting future updates.
I tried to install Nokia voip frame work (downloaded here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/d476061e-90ca-42e9-b3ea-1a852f3808ec/SIP_VoIP_Settin... and configuring Sip Voip settings. I successfully used this feature in a N85 two years ago. I put the same parameters, but it seems not to run, there is an error in registration. Maybe parameters are different in Symbian ^3, can anyone help me please? Or is there a site where all parameters are indicated? The latest Pdf userguide is dated 2008, but parameters seem to be the same.
I disappoint all this, it would be a good device.
Besides, just to notice, the maps provided with Ovi Maps are not updated, I have some examples of new crossroads in my city that permit me do deduce that maps are 4 or 5 years old!!! It’s a pity, the platform would be very good.
Another thing: I tried to register a new account at https://email.nokia.com, but you can only log existing users. Really, I cannot found where to register new users. Can anyone help please?
Incredible, c’mon Nokia, what are you doing?? Before you offer some services and features, and then there is an impossibility to use them!!! We are talking about smartphone. What do we buy them for? Obviously to install and use applications. Now I cannot see why I have to renounce to use what I used before in the past. And now I’m loosing a lot of time trying to use these applications and services.
They say that a good service and consumer’s satisfaction is the best advertisement. I think that the opposite is true too.
What’s happening?
