0404 and sonar

First of all I,d like to say I had a lovely long intro but sending failed and i,m too tired to write it again.
VERY short version....
How do I get multiple audio outs from SONAR 4 into the 0404 patchmix?????
It sould be easy shouldn,t it?
I can in cubase....
proteus x ... loads of em..
SONAR... ''WAVE'' strips only shows any life, sound and signal
I,m using the wdm/ks drivers (that gives me (E-DSP Wave [DF00]) 1/2 and 3/4).cant find 5/6 7/8 in patchmix
When I select asio driver it greys out any emu options(i can see them though up to 31/32 ...great if I could get them all)
I just dloaded the latest drivers and have tried different khz settings too
Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks J

Duhhh!!!.. it.s even later..
You cant use the asio drivers from a tascam us224 with the drivers from the 0404 it seems.
never mind.. one to watch out for..
lookin a little more like the job now though. woohoo.

  • 0404 and 2ZS a few questions :-)

Well both cards have arrived and I installed the 0404 first and once I had applied the latest updates and checked it was working as it should I disabled it and installed the audigy 2zs but on restart my pc would crash/restart at the desktop and even refused to run in safe mode. I removed the 2zs card and started windows removed all creatve drivers and apps replaced the card. This time I used the driver only install and it worked no probs. I was wondering if there is a confict between the apps that come with the 0404 and the 2zs? Also would the front mounted panel from my sb live work with the 2zs?

    the_hood,
This is what you should probably do.
    1) Cleansweep out the 0404 card and remove it from the system
    2) Install the Audigy 2 ZS
    3) Update the Audigy 2 ZS
    4) Disable the Audigy 2 ZS through device manager
    5) Install the 0404
    6) Update the 0404
    7) Reenable the Audigy 2 ZS
    8) Select the Audigy 2 ZS as your default playback device in Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices
At this point the two cards should work fine, your Audigy 2 ZS will be your primary playback card and the 0404 will run inside of Cubase or your other audio software using the ASIO drivers.
The Audigy 2 ZS is not compatible with the Live! Drive.
If you need any help during this process, feel free to call EMU support. I used to be on their team and I know the guys over there are really good at fixing things.

  • Emulator X and Sonar 5.01 64 bit

Is anyone getting Emulator X to work in Windows XP x64 within Sonar 64 bit's
For me it works as a standalone (which is as much use as a chocolate teapot) but when loaded as a VSTi into Sonar I get the following error message and Sonar hangs:
"The streaming engine could not be initialized.
There was a problem initializing the streaming engine. This is
most likely caused by a driver version mismatch."
I'd welcome any thoughts or suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Laurence

I have this (well kinda) problem also. Sometimes my system (see below) will work fine, but then suddenly the channels will swap or the sub just won't give any bass.
Have tried contacting both Creative and Microsoft support for some insight but nothing apart from the standard stuff so far. I guess its a vista/4Gb RAM issue. Looking forward to using WaveRt drivers in case they give a difference.

  • 0404 and Vista RC1 anyo

Has anybody managed to get EMU 0404 working on Vista RC (Build 5600)?
    Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Try this:
Here's what I found to work for me with the Audigy Platinum II EX.
.) Download and install the XP drivers -- DO NOT RESTART. You may notice that you have sound already. Don't bother to try to use the Audio Console or other sound utilities -- they may hang or crash the system or drivers.
2.) Without rebooting, install the latest Soundblaster drivers (Beta for Vista) from Creative. Reboot this time.
3.) When the machine restarts, don't be in a hurry. It appears that Vista is busy updating protected storage and swapping out drivers. This took about 20 minutes on my 3.2 GHz hyperthreaded processor. Go ahead and do something else while it's cooking.
4.) When things settle down (processor activity slows and disk activity slows) open the Audio Console (Creative) and adjust the settings for 5., 6., or stereo to match your system.
    Bingo!!!
The moral of the story is that the Creative Beta install is expecting some evidence of the sound card before it will replace the drivers and that Vista takes a long time to establish all the drivers for the AV links after Creative Install completes. Hope this works for you. I spent 3 days on it.

  • X-fi Xtream audio and sonar 6 producer...recording "what you here" garbled

I just purchased this Xtream Audio card and installed it but when I start Cakewalk Sonar 6 Producer the wave profiler states that there is no stereo capable sound device available. The card is working as sound is produced through the speakers and the suite opens with no problems.
When I record via "what you hear" the sound is garbled.
I have a pentium D Dual Core 2.66hz with 4 GB RAM(3.25GB available) and the onboard sound device has been un-installed.
I have tried reloading the drivers and software to no avail.
I removed the card and enabled the cheap onboard sound and it works with no problems. "what you hear" records without the gabled sound.
All effects have been disabled. Sonar and Card are set to record at 44111.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi jutapa,
I was using WDM/KS. the asio will not work. when I change to asio and restart the program there is no sound card listed or available. I was using the "what you hear" because I am recording internal MIDI files with VSTi plugins to convert to a wave file and I have no idea of any other way to do this. I works fine with the intergraded sound drivers but not with this new card. This is why I think that the card or drivers are damaged. I downloaded new drivers from the website but they didn't work either.
Asio4all should work well with your card - http://www.asio4all.com
    - you'll get lower latency (down to 2-3 ms instead of 10ms as with WDM/KS)
Remember also enable those input/output drivers (Options->Audio->drivers -tab)
Rendering MIDI + VSTi/DXi to a wav file is done by "bounce to track(s)". It's well covered in Sonar documentation and online help:
To Convert Your Soft Synth Tracks to New Audio Tracks
Mute all tracks that you don't want to convert.
Use the Edit-Bounce to Track(s) command.
The Bounce to Track(s) dialog box appears.
In the Destination field, choose a new or pre-existing track to put the new audio data on.
If you've saved presets from previous bounce operations, you can choose a preset from the Preset field.
In the Source Category field, choose Tracks.
In the Channel Format field, choose mono if you want a mono track, stereo if you want a stereo track, and split mono if you want to create separate mono tracks.
In the Source/Buses field, choose the output bus(es) that the soft synth tracks are using (usually the main outputs).
In the Mix Enables field, make sure all choices are selected.
    Click OK.
SONAR creates new audio tracks from the outputs you selected. When you're through converting, don't forget to mute your MIDI tracks so you won't hear them and the new audio track(s) at the same time.
Note: you control the bit depth of all rendering operations (bouncing, freezing, applying effects) on the Audio Data tab of the Global Options dialog (Options-Global command) in the Render Bit Depth field. The default value of 32 is the best for most situations. See Bit Depths for Rendering Audio for more information.
Converting MIDI to AudioWhen you finally get your MIDI project into the shape you want, you can convert the MIDI tracks to audio for export as Wave, MP3, or other file formats. If you are using external MIDI modules, just record the outputs of your modules into your sound card. If you are using soft synths, use the File-Export-Audio command, or the Edit-Bounce to Track(s) command. If you are using the built-in synthesizer in your sound card to produce MIDI sounds, you can use your sound card's "What You Hear" or wave capture function to convert the MIDI tracks, if your sound card can function this way. See the following procedure:
To Convert MIDI to AudioPick a destination audio track (or create a new one) and set the Input field to Stereo (name of your sound card).
Note: If you have more than one sound card installed, select the one that has the built-in synth that your MIDI tracks use.
Arm the destination track. Make sure its Input Echo button is off, so you won't hear an echo when you're recording.
Mute any tracks that you don't want to record to the destination track.
Open your sound card's mixer device. This is normally done by double-clicking the speaker icon on your Windows taskbar, or by choosing Start-Programs-Accessories-Entertainment-Volume Control-Options-Properties.
Note: Some sound cards have their own proprietary mixer. If yours has one, please use it instead.
If you're using the Windows mixer, use its Options-Properties command to open the Properties dialog box, click Recording (in the Adjust Volume For field), and make sure all boxes in the Show the Following Volume Controls field are checked.
Click OK, and locate the slider marked MIDI, Synth, Mixed Input, or What You Hear. Check the Select box at the bottom, then close the window.
In SONAR, rewind to the beginning of your project, click the Record button, and click the Stop button when you're done recording.
SONAR records all the MIDI tracks that are assigned to your sound card synth as a stereo audio track.
After you finish recording, mute the MIDI tracks that you just recorded so you don't hear them and the new audio track at the same time.
There are good tutorials you can go through to learn using Sonar features.

  • EMU 0202 and Sonar LE recording

Hi, we just installed the EMU 0202 a couple of days ago and everything is working fine. There is just one question that my musician friend has that we need help getting the answer for.
We are trying to record a Acoustical Guitar in Stereo so that it comes on to both Right and Left channels of the Sonar LE Tracks. We have tried setting up the EMU 0202 in Sonar LE to the Stereo (L and R) but it records only on one channel. How do we set it up to record on both L and R channels using only the R channel or the L Channel Line? Is there a special splitter that needs to be purchased that records on both Channels in Stereo?
I am new to this and just trying to find the solution. Sorry for being a NOOB on this...
    Thanks
    Ben

Here's another one thats probably easy to figure out but i cant.
Im going through the tutorials right now and trying to record my first track in Cubase LE.
It says to choose 'Project', 'Add Track', 'Audio', but when i go into to add the Audio it is greyed out and cant be chose, as are all the other options.
I have already gone through the steps before that like changing the ASIO Buffer Latency so i dont know what it could be.
    Any idea's?

  • Need help with Emu 0404 and DSP Effects

    Hi,
This might be a bit of a noob question, but I'm completely new to the world of recording and effects. I have the Emu 0404 PCI soundcard and I'm trying to record sth with the DSP effects. I used the standard settings with ASIO send (PCI Card in L) and added effects, but when I use a recording program only the clean signal is recorded. I tried moving the send insert at the end of the list, but that didn't help. So how can I record sth with the DSP effects? I couldn't really find anythinguseful in the help file.

I have the same issue, anyone know a way around this? I have
a image i wish to grow onmouse over, then using the same behavior
but shrink with mouseout, it gets some wierd issues, like if you
put the mouse in between it oscillates back and forth, its not
    smooth.

  • Emu 0404 and windows 7

Is my old emu 0404 (not usb) usable with windows 7? So far I cannot get sound with it. I have a dell xps7100 64bit.
Dell came out and replaced the motherboard which allowed windows to recognize the card but I still cannot get sound to my speakers. Should I buy a new card or interface?

    Hi,
There's a beta driver you might want to give it a try.

  • 1212M and Sonar 4 - noob here

    Hi guys,
Thanks for takin the time to read this. This post is very general, so I apologize in advance if it's too broad to provide an answer.
Basically, I've been writing music on computers for a good long time, but the hardware aspects have always been a bit daunting. I just bought a new computer, and decided to get the 1212M to go along with it. Realizing this is a beast of a sound card, I really want to make sure I'm using it to its full potential. So I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any tips or tricks to getting the most out of this card, or direct me to any online reasources that could give a real "ground up" approach to learning this hardware.
I will be using this primarily with Sonar 4 and a variety of software synths, and I will be recording off my Yamaha P-80 electronic piano.
    Thanks,

  • E-MU 1212m and Sonar 6.01 - no sound

I have a Dell PC with a EMU1212m. I get no sound from Sonar when playing MIDI files. MIDIs play fine through Windows Media Player and thru other MIDI software like PowerTabs. Sonar worked fine when I was using a Tascam US122-L USB interface. I have uninstalled the Tascam software, Sonar and reinstalled the EMU drivers as well as Sonar but still no sound.

    Hi MikeCarr,
What MIDI Out Port do you have selected in Sonar?

  • X-fi Titanium and Sonar on Vista64 - Anyone got it worki

The Titanium doesn't show up in my Cakewalk Sonar?list of inputs and outputs. Is this normal? Going to be fixed? I really want to try out the supposed low latency, but it won't let me.

Finally got an answer. No 64-bit ASIO for X-Fi Titanium.
    From?Creative Support:?
Current sound cards such as the Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro
Series have x64 drivers, but the ASIO implementation will only work with
    32bit applications, not nati've 64bit ap
    ps.
    This may change as more
nati've drivers for ASIO 2.2 becomes available though. Please check our
website regularly for future driver updates. We apologize for any
    inconvenience.
Another note to Creative:? Please try to be clear on your packaging and technical specs. Besides driver problems, judging from the content of these forums, this appears to be a big problem for consumers of Creative products. No one knows just what it is they are getting. It's very frustrating for the consumer.

    1. yes but no enviromental effects available
    2. not analogic ... an, by the back panel connectors in T7900, forget it, since 0404 has only one stereo (two mono outputs) output available (i.e. it's a stereo card by it's analog stage).

  • Remote Desktop and D

I am trying to use my laptop to connect to a computer in another room via Remote Desktop service in XP and have the sound from my DAWs... specifically FL Studio and Sonar... directed to the laptop. The "server computer" has an Audigy 2. The laptop seems only to have integrated audio. I have been able to select the Microsoft RDP emulated drivers in FL Studio, but can hear no sound coming from it. I am able to hear mp3s and such played through a media player with no problem. Is what I'm attempting even possible? I would think so, since I can select the RDP drivers in FL, but I'm out of ideas.

Still no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

  • E-MU 0404 USB2 : turning on causes XP Pro to crash immediately

    Hello,
I've just bought a brand new E-MU 0404 USB2 and tried to install it exactly as it is written in the "Owner's Manual". When I turn on the 0404, windows XP shows me a blue screen, with some error messages concerning "emusba10.sys" and error 0x0000007E, Physical memory dumped.
Here are the details of what I did :
    - I plugged the 0404 in the USB2 port of my Thinkpad and turned it on. Windows detected a new hardware, opened the wizard, and I clicked 'cancel', exactly as written in the "Owner's manual" on page 8.
    - I installed the driver following the "Owner's manual" step by step.
    - Then Windows XP has seen a new hardware, but was not able to install the appropriate drivers. Strange. But I got no error message during installation.
After this, I turned off everything (my thinkpad AND the 0404), and then turned the computer on. Once Windows hase finished its startup, I turned on the 0404 and after three seconds, Windows XP hangs up and shows the blue screen with some error messages concerning "emusba10.sys" and error 0x0000007E, Physical memory dumped. Then the computer immediately reboots.
If I turn on the 0404 before the laptop, the startup sequence of XP hangs up with the same blue screen, and reboots.
I'm using the following material : Thinkpad X31, Centrino 1.4Ghz, 768Mb Ram, Windows XP Professional (english) with SP2 (it was installed when I bought it), 1 hi-speed USB2 port. This configuration is higher than the minimal configuration required in the "Owner's Manual" on page 7.
I did not plugged any other USB material : the 0404 was alone and plugged directly into the hi-speed USB2 port (ie. without hub). The Intel AC'97 onboard soundcard is disabled in the control panel. The is no entry in the BIOS allowing to disable the onboard soundcard, I checked this many times.
In the control panel, I chose "Always on" and disabled all economy things in windows (well, I think so).
I installed all of the Windows XP updates and deactivated the norton anti-virus.
Could you help me ? I don't know what to do/try...
Thank you very much for your help !
    Sincerely yours,
    MacDo

Just got my 0404 USB couple hours ago. Been having the same problem (on different hardware though), BUT the final solution that helped was going to Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers and changing driver "Standart Enhanced PCI to USB host controller" to my Nvidia's one (I've got an Nvidia nForce 2 mobo). So I recommend you changing this driver to the mobo manufacturer's one.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm not a native speaker.
