06 or HD?

I'm embarrassed to ask this, but...
Because of the poor picture and the information that iMovie08 is primarily intended for YouTubers, I followed advice and downloaded iMovie06. However, I found in my Applications that I now have iMovie HD.
I thought these were two different editing systems. Are they the same? Doesn't HD stand for High Definition? I don't have a High Definition camcorder.
What do I do now?
I would appreciate help from some kindly soul.

Hi
As Niel writes. HD just means that it handles this too.
When You start a new iMovie project. Select Project type/format as DV
for standard 4x3 video.
