08 Macbook, when printing with HP software, bluetooth disappeared

The CFO of my company came to me today with an interesting issue with his MacBook.  This morning when printing 2 docs simultaneously by mistake using the HP printer software for his printer, his bluetooth icon disappeared in his system tray, and in his system preferences, even after rebooting, it's still gone. His bluetooth is no longer working. He's running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Any ideas?

I checked for a hp driver and the only one is this one http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=dj-13823-4 &lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=58152&os=219&lang=en
have a look at that and try that driver for osx and hopefully it works.

My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?

I have a similar problem.  I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS.  After completing the process the phone never restarted.  The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon.  I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone.  The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads.  iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does.  I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery.  This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help.  A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged.  She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on.  I don't think it is a battery issue.  The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone.  Repairing it was out of the question.  At this point the phone is completely useless.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Color shift when printing with LR 3.6

LR 3.6, win 7, screen Nec PA 241 W, Epson R 3000. When printing with colors managed by LR and paper/R 3000 profiles, I get prints with a strong color shift (printer pilot "mode" : desactivated) . How can I correct it ?

You answered your own question: CS5.  There have been a slew of reports of workflows spun upside down when upgrading to CS5.  It may require updating your system software and/or Adobe applications, along with any printer driver updates that may be lurking out there somewhere.  The twist to your situation is ( and is very common ) that everything was working before and now it does not.  Or there is a certain print disorder of some sort.  Very troubling.  I wish I had a smoking gun answer for you, but I don't.  It sounds like you have a very viable workflow in place that worked before and damn well should perform for you now.  I'd stick with what works and dump what doesn't ( if you can ).

  • Black ink faded/Gray when printing with HP Envy 5530

When printing with my new HP Envy 5530 the black ink looks gray or faded.  I tested the color and this prints dark and clear.  I have power cycled, plugged into different power outlets and re-inserted the cartridge.  Any thoughts...or could it just be a "bum" cartridge?
Thanks in Advance for your help...

Howdy. After tinkering around with my Envy having the same issue, I found out that after replacing my black cartridge because it was low, I was having the same issue.
Turns out the color cartridge will simulate a black in an to preserve both the tri color cartridge and the black cartridge for as long as possible, which is why even if you've never printed any color, both your cartridges should be low. Once the color cartridge starts getting low, the printer doesn't have a sensor to realize which of the tri color is mixing in the most, so it continues to mix it in either way.
I was having this issue where I would print one page and it would be okay and then any page following would slowly look worse.
Long story short, just print without the color cartridge in and you shouldn't have the issue unless your black is really low. Replacing that should fix it overall though.

  • HP D110 AIO printer. Prints jam when printing with wireless, but not when hooked to USB cable! HELP!

I have a HP D110. It jams the paper when I print with wireless, but not when I use USB cable. Any ideas?

From what you describe you are having issues printing from MS Office. Have you had trouble printing from other resources on your computer (e.g. from the internet or another program)? The first thing I am going to suggest is that we start by uninstalling and reinstalling the printer from the resources available online.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

  • C++ Debug Assertion Failed! - when printing with LOCL method G and GUI 620

    Hi all
I've just raised an OSS message with SAP but don't think they'll help as the GUI version is no longer supported... if anyone else has come across this though and has any suggestions that would be great...
    Thanks
    Ross
    Hi
We recently upgraded a few users to the 720 SAP GUI and had issues with LOCL printing, as we were still using the older "F: Printing on Front End computer" method of printing. As per SAP Note "Note 821519 - Front-end printing with control technology" the solution is to use method "G: Front end printing with Control Tech".
However, we now get an issue with SOME users who are running the SAP GUI 620 patch 57. When they try and print to LOCL they get a pop up dialog box error:
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
    Debug Assertion Failed!
    Program: C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\saplogon.exe
    File: fputs.c
    Line: 48
    Expressiom: steam != NULL"
I appreciate that this old GUI is no longer supported BUT the SAP note states that 620 patch 56 is the minimum level for method "G" to work - and previous testing showed that it DID work ok. It seems only some of the 620 patch 57 users are affected - just wondering if you can advise why and if there is a 'quick fix' for this, perhaps an updated fputs.c file or something?
The issue is that we literally have thousands of users on this version and cannot roll out 720 quickly enough & without some additional testing/costs etc. We have a 710 patch 18 version we can roll out but this can cause IE8 issues... neither do we wish to revert to control method "F" as this will then 'break' printing for those users.
We have created a LOCL_OLD printer with method "F" but some users (for various reasons, including hard coded printers in bespoke transactions) cannot select this and have to use LOCL...
If you are aware of the C++ debug assertion error and have any possible solutions that would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Ross

fputs.c is a source file that is used to compile the GUI. The assertion is thrown because an expected condition is not met. So even if you would take out the assertion, there's no guarantee it'll work because "something" on the operating system is not right.
I suggest you compare installed software and windows hotfixes on the affected PCs vs. those who don't show this error. The error may also be that after the installation of the SAPGUI another software product was installed that replaced certain DLLs that are also used by the SAPGUI.

  • Blank page when printing with black cartridge

After trying  the suggested solutions to this problem on the last 20 forum pages with no luck,  I took the  new black cartridge out of the printer.  Later, forgetting there was no black cartridge in it, I proceeded to print a page and finally got a full page printed in black. What does that mean? other than it's  a messed up printer.  No more HP for me. My old Epson worked for 8 years with no problems. Someone hit the nail on the head when he called the software " invasive". Does HP ever read this board? If they did, one would think they would be concerned about some very angry customers.

It is a bit difficult to diagnose your issue with absolutely no details of printer model or any other relavant data.  It appears you have a recent printer with a black and a tri-color cartridge.  Your black cartridge is clogged or out of ink or otherwise non-functional.  When you remove the black cartridge your printer automatically switched to "reserve mode", generating black using the color cartridge.  A fresh working black cartrdige should resolve your issue.

  • HP Sprout error when printing with PowerDriver from Sawgrass

HI, i am getting an error when i try to print a project from the Sprout Workplace with the PowerDriver v4 software from Sawgrass. Any info/guidance is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!

My workaround by using a virtual PDF printer isn't as good as I hoped. If the files generated by printing with flashplayer exceed about 3 pages the temp file generated in /var/spool/cups is so big that it exceeds my partitions size.
The file can get up to more than 1GB. With documents from one or two pages the temp file is about 500MB, the correct pdf gets generated after that and is placed under /var/spool/cups-pdf/<user> and is about 500kb small. The very big temp file get's deleted after that.
Why is this temp file so big and how can I avoid it getting so big?

  • Document size error when printing with Acrobat XI Standard

    Hello,
I seem to be having a problem when I try to print to my Colorwave 600 plotter, using Acrobat XI Standard. I am trying to print a 36" wide document, but for some reason when the printer receives the information, it thinks I'm asking for a 42" wide print. The biggest paper the colorwave can use is 36", so this is problematic.
The sheet size in Acrobat is set correctly. The problem is only when the printer receives the information.
If I select "print as image" in advanced settings, it prints. I'm just confused why this would happen, and why printing as an image would work? I would prefer not to print as image as it makes the text in my files jagged.
I have tried wiping my print drivers and reinstalling, but this didn't help. Also, this problem only happens printing from a PC. It works fine if I print from a Mac.
    Any advice?

  • Pages_Document resizes when printing with Comments showing

I just upgraded to Leopard and also have the latest version of Pages installed. I just went to print out of Pages to my printer (Ricoh Aficio MP C3500) and the weirdest thing is happening. On Tiger I was printing fine with the Comments showing. Now, I'll click on the Print button, the dialog comes up fine. When I click on anything in the dialog box or change a drop down item, the preview resizes the document. The clincher is that the document prints out resized as the Preview shows it. If I keep clicking the Preview keeps getting smaller and smaller... and it will print as small as the Preview shows. I've printed an 8.5 x 11 document the size of a postage stamp.
Anyone having this same problem printing with Comments turned on? Any fix?

I also have this problem. As an attorney I need to be able to print out the document with the Markup (Change Bubbles) showing.
When I have the change bubbles showing, no matter what options I have chosen in the print dialog box, the document prints out at about 1/16th the size of the original on the paper. If I print to PDF, the same thing happens in the PDF file.
I like the track changes feature, but this is almost enough to make me go back to Word.
One work around is to export the document to Word and print with Markup showing from within Word.

  • Fuzziness when printing with laser

When printing a document to a Konica Minolta Magicolor 5670EN using Pages 5.2 (1860) (and Pages 09 with a previous MacPro using Leopard) the output is fuzzy, as if anti-aliasing is turned on. If I save the document as a pdf file, then print it, the result is pin-sharp output. Am I missing a simple 'turn off anti-aliasing' somewhere in Pages?
    RSS157

There is no anti-aliasing configuration in either Pages version.
Direct application printing may cause translation of native Pages document markup through the PCL6 page description language, rather than the Postscript Level 3 engine that would be invoked when printing from PDF.
Konica Minolta has indicated that the Print dialog for some applications in OS X 10.9 may have advanced printing options inaccessible until compatibility drivers are provided. Many of these advanced options can however be set through the Printer Features submenu. There is a link to a PDF entitled, printer driver workaround documentation, that details this functionality. This page also suggests that OS X 10.9 and Windows 8.1 drivers are not yet available.
KM released four new v1.3.1 Postscript drivers explicitly for OS X 10.9 in March. I would apply these and revisit your print quality issues.
In addition to potential printer settings/driver issues, Pages v5.2 is a relatively immature and buggy release of Pages. It is entirely possible that it can be the source, or collaborator in your print fuzziness. Do you normally have the printer setup to do Pantone color match?
I see no update or compatibility page for the PageScope administrative applications for this printer.

  • Issues w/ color when printing with a layered background

    Hello,
I have designed a page in Illustrator that was intended for the web, and now the company wants print outs for a trade show.
I have a multi-layered background,  and when printing off a laser printer, the greys are awful and streaky. I have a feeling it's because I've got dark grey layered over light grey over green (see pic), but what can I do to fix it? The client wants the background this way, but I'm not sure about the mechanics of it, I just know that it looks awful when printed.
    Thanks for any help!
    Jen

It's going to be tough to match the RGB work you've done for the web and laser printers are a challenge.  You might have to rebuild the file or convert the colors to CMYK.  The grays will probably be the easy part ( 20%, 45% ), but the dark greenish blue will have to be remixed ( i.e., 100C, 18.5M, 0Y, 51K ).  I think you could use the existing elements, but you might have to expand them or divide them.  You should avoid layering or overlaying, just work with a flattened .ai file and see if that prints any better.  Raster elements, transparency, and layering effects are better handled via a Postscript 3 RIP + PRINTER.  If your laser is non-postscript and does not have a RIP ( raster image processor ), then the color will be problematic.  If you will be printing the sheets for the tradeshow using the laser, then whatever you mix will be able to be proofed ( by eye, I assume ) internally.  If you go outside and use a Kinkos or something, then color should be proofed using a contract proofer at your local prepress shop before sending it out to be printed.
